Cod Father in Stockton-on-Tees

Always travel to Seaton for this chippy as it’s the best I’ve ever been to, after reading some of the lower rating reviews I’m quite shocked as after over 100 visits I’ve never known it to be closed or portion sizes small. I actually always say how much you get for a half lot is amazing and sometimes can’t even finish that! Staff always happy, ok sometimes there’s a wait but that’s because it’s very busy at all times due to getting it right! See you again soon

After a hard night solving paranormal crimes we always stop by The Codfather for a chip supper. We work hard so we deserve the best. Great food, fantastic staff. Always a happy experience!

Called in by chance one afternoon to pick up lunch. Service was great, and the food. Looking forward to trying the cod next time!

What can I say but the best fish and chippies in Stockton. Great staff and the service is with a smile.

A great chippy. To be honest, there aren't many local fish n chips I enjoy - usually save them for places like Whitby. The fish and chips are great from here. Huge portions, but more importantly, nice fish and lovely chips too. Never soggy or under/over cooked. The only problem is the crazy owner (joke). Lovely bloke and always share a joke. So if you are after 'bantered' fish after a long day at work - head to here. Always cheers you right up!

A great chippy that has been around for many many years, put it this way im 36 and I remember playing in his doorway when I was 5. It wins my vote for the local chippy factor, always friendly and definately a well recognised face in the community.

Every time I go to this chippy is open at random times or never open!! Staff are great, looks very clean but just average!

I called in one evening around 6pm on the way home for some chips, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the place looks clean and respectable. The options for chips are £1.20 for small or £1.70 for large. Now normally when you get a small portion theres enough for one and a large is enough for a entire family in some cases. Not here; I got the small just for myself and was given the most pitiful portion on a tray with black bits all over. Felt a little ripped off. Admittedly the chips which were edible were very good, fresh and not at all greasy probably some of the best I've had recently hence the average rating otherwise it would have been a one star. Come on sort out the portion sizes and then I would return and give it another chance.

I was served by a server who repeatedly asked me whether i wanted them wrapped, open, small, large etc as she wasnt listening but chatting to some guy in the background. Anyway, despite this, the chips were very greasy, so much so they left a lardy layer on the top of my palate.

Friendly and welcoming staff (and owner) .....topped off with some of the finest fish and chips in the north east .......a must stop if you're in the area ......

The cod father is a welcoming chippy with friendly staff and great food i would defiantly use it as my regular fish and chip shop as you defiantly get your moneys worth.

Lovely fresh fish served by friendly staff who always give you a good portion. Great value.well worth a visit.
