He tenido el placer de seguir el viaje culinario de Ana y Mickael durante más de quince años, desde sus días en Water of Leith Bistro en Coburg Street, pasando por Canonmills y ahora en Cocorico en Jane Street. Lo que me hace volver es el genuino ambiente de bistró que han cultivado. Cocorico ofrece algo maravillosamente auténtico en una era de alta eficiencia, Instagram - restaurantes optimizados. No encontrarás gente comiendo una habitación - tazón de grano temporal debajo de un letrero de neón rosa que dice “Vivir mi mejor vida” en cursiva aquí. En su lugar, experimentarás un espacio cálido y vivido donde el enfoque es la conexión, la conversación y la buena comida. El menú celebra ingredientes sencillos y frescos preparados con una inconfundible influencia francesa. Cada plato llega con cuidado y atención. Me encantan las opciones principales (croque monsieur y variedades) pero los especiales siempre se consideran cuidadosamente la cocina de temporada. Recomiendo particularmente sus Îles flottantes, que me cuesta resistir y mirar con pesar cuando no puedo hacer el día en que se hacen. Ana ha rechazado mis sugerencias sobre las opciones de entrega a domicilio. Sí, está escondido en un rincón industrial de Leith, un puerto con conexiones históricas francesas de los días de la Alianza Auld, pero esto hace que Cocorico se sienta como una joya escondida perfectamente colocada que vale la pena buscar. Después de quince años de lealtad a la visión de Ana y Mickael, puedo decir con confianza que han creado algo especial en Cocorico.

Nunca deje de impresionarse por la excelente comida y el servicio amable en Cocorico. Los pasteles son increíbles, pero son las opciones saladas que realmente me encantan. Sin duda recomendaría.

Este es mi lugar favorito para el desayuno, el brunch o el almuerzo. El capuchino siempre es excelente y la comida y los pasteles siempre son de tan buena calidad y todos caseros. Siempre hacer sentir bienvenido

Absolutamente fantástica comida y pasteles, frescos y caseros con amor. Mi familia y yo visitamos a menudo y nunca estamos decepcionados con lo que pedimos. Ana y Mika son tan acogedores y amables y siempre sabes que te recibirán con una sonrisa y una buena charla! La crema fresca y pastel de fresa era increíble - muy recomendable. Gracias de nuevo 💙

Cocorico. . . Una reseña que quería hacer hace siglos. Tiene una inconsistencia cuando se trata de alimentos. 9 de cada 10 veces quemarás tus alimentos o apenas los cocinarás si es más fácil cocinarlos o si tienes artículos estándar como sus opciones de bocadillos calientes. Cuando está perfectamente cocido es agradable. Como se mencionó anteriormente, es raro que no se queme o apenas se cocine. Con el área de cocción abierta para ver se puede ver al chef arrojando papas fritas encima de las papas fritas ya cocinadas de otros clientes. Por lo tanto, un cliente puede haber obtenido correctamente los artículos cocinados, mientras que el otro se queda con una porción triste de un artículo tan básico. También notó que el chef intentaba ocultar bocadillos calientes quemados untando condimentos para ocultar sus errores. . . pobre. Los clientes fieles son tratados como nada y se les hace sentir así en numerosas ocasiones. Por lo tanto, con eso recomendaría en otro lugar si desea un lugar regular para visitar.

Unbelievable food!! Had the BLT bagel, salmon and cream cheese bagel, the goats cheese and beetroot quiche and a cookie. Absolutely stunning!! Very friendly and helpful staff with a great relaxed atmosphere. 1000% recommend.

I had only ever stopped here for a take away, but today, I had time to stop for lunch. I cannot praise it highly enough. A warm, friendly welcome, and happy faces are always a great, first impression. I had the crabby pate in a bun, and wasn't disappointed. Hot, tasty, and full of flavour. Fresh, skinny French fries, and homemade coleslaw, meant I didn't leave hungry. The flat white coffee is as good as you'll find anywhere, so I had two. On a side note, the toilets were immaculate. 5☆ all the way.

This place is close to my work, so having passed it several times, I finally got round to trying it. It was totally worth the wait; the food was delicious (3 of us had soup, the other the chicken burger) and all of us were very impressed. Portion sizes were generous and the prices very reasonable. The service was also excellent and particularly impressive given there was one chef and one server while the place was full. I would recommend this to anybody visiting Edinburgh. It's a bit out of the centre, so probably not ideal for tourists, but it appears to have a lot of local support, as we were lucky to get a table.

I stopped off here last week as it appeared to be a hidden gem based on the reviews. Firstly it’s great that it’s free street parking outside. The cafe is very well decorated from the outside with nice artwork. Open entering I was greeted by a lovely lady. She was incredibly welcoming and upbeat. They provide breakfasts and lunches both hot and cold, as well as sweet treats, savoury snacks and drinks. In fact, they provide a great selection. You can takeaway or sit in as they ample tables and chairs. I was just popping by so I wanted to get something to takeaway. The lady was extremely delightful and helped me in choosing from the menu. I’ve never heard of a croque (she explained nicely what it was) so I went with the croque salmon. I also went with a sausage roll because they looked very appealing. I picked up a pastrami ciabatta for my wife. Obviously, I had to get a few sweet treats. I ended up going with a cinnamon swirl with icing, lemon meringue loaf and a chocolate chip banana bread. I had the salmon croque first which was very nice. I don’t think I’ve had salmon and cheese together before but they complemented themselves quite well. The croque is basically like a cheese toastie with cheese on the outside and it cooked in the oven. Next I had the sausage roll which was also good. The pastry was crisp on the outside but softer in the middle. I am not sure what sausage it was but it was quite nice. Although I did notice that it was a little cold in the middle so maybe could have done a little longer in the oven. The cinnamon swirl was ok. The pastry seemed a little stale. The flavour was fine but I’ve certainly had better. Both the lemon meringue and the banana bread were very good which we both enjoyed. My wife also liked her ciabatta. Overall, I am glad I visited. I wasn’t blown away by the food (hence the 4 stars) but it’s still good reliable scran at a reasonable price. I would love to come back and sit in and have a cooked breakfast because they look fab! I love how everything is freshly made and it’s a open kitchen so you see everything. It’s the service that makes this place excel. I haven’t been to many places were you are treated so nicely. You get a homely feel whilst here. I get the impression that they have their regulars and the staff build relationships with their customers which is lovely to see. I will be back.

Really good coffee, tea and cake. This cafe gives you something to put your teabag in! Also properly tasty tea. Gateau Breton was on the menu - soft and fresh,with apple and butterscotch sauce (which would have been even better warm). Partner loved the baked cheesecake.

I had a full veggie breakfast and it was sublime. Not merely tasty and hearty, but carefully made, beautifully presented and every item in it was equally flavoursome and subtle. The staff are friendly and welcoming, both to me and my dog, and the atmosphere is comfortable and pleasant. Very good value for money too. I’ll be back often.
