What a super find! We were on holiday in the area, and wandering around the town of Welshpool, came across Coco. The welcome given to the four of us was really warm, and the owner coudn't have been more happy to help us make our drink and meal choices, and also recommend places to visit on our holiday. Whilst we enjoyed our meal it was so good to hear her engaging with regular customers and visitors alike, ensuring everyone's visit was a great experience. Such a happy and friendly cafe and a million miles away from the experience in a 'big chain' coffee shop.

My wife and I were over from Leicester for the Welshpool 1940s weekend, and decided to have a drink whilst we waited for the parade to begin. We chose this place as it had kerbside appeal, and it really was a good choice of somewhere to sit and relax and take in the day. Service was great, and the drinks were also first-rate and reasonably priced, so if you’re looking for somewhere to take the weight off and have a drink, then this is the place for you.

Our first visit to the town and we wanted to support a local business rather than a large chain across the road. We got the distinct impression the staff serving did not wish to be there - they appeared hassled and stressed. The service was very slow. We also felt the price charged was expensive for what we’d ordered. Cannot recommend.

We've been staying in Llanfyllin, and spent the Afternoon in Welshpool. Because of the Blisteringly Hot Weather, we were looking for an Independent Coffee Shop, where we could refuel, and came across Coco. It's located in the Centre of Welshpool, on one of the Main Streets. There are Tables/Seating outside, and Inside, there are 2 Levels; the Lower Level is where you choose/order your Food and Drink, and the upper Level contains Indoor Tables and Chairs, and Customer Toilets. There is also an Entrance at the Side of the Shop, for Wheelchair Users, which leads into the upper level of the Coffee House. Really warm welcome and fantastic Customer Service, from the Owner and her 2 Members of Staff. The Hog Roast Rolls, are stunning and highly recommended, as are the Chocolate Brownies. We also purchased an Iced Caramel Cooler, a Berry Cooler, a Raspberry and Blackcurrant Yoghurt Cooler, and a Cold Raspberry Tea; cost just over £26, which we were delighted with. Highly recommend this Gem of an Independent Business, and look forward to returning soon.

Coffee and tea were fine but the lady who is in charge was very loud and shouted instructions to her staff to do this and do that all the time we were there. Also signs exist advising customers not to sit at a 4 seater table if you are 2 persons, you must sit at a 2 seater table. Also sign outside warning people not to embarrass themselves, or the owners, by eating food at the outside tables that is not purchased on the premises. The premises seem to be run on a very strict basis and this was really distracting, this may suit some people but not us as we wanted to enjoy our drinks in relative peace and quiet. We felt sorry for the staff and will not return. I have no doubt the response to this review will be equally robust and although our criticism is meant to be helpful, I suspect we will be told we will not be welcome there again!

What a gem of a find - on our way for a girlie mini break we found this lovely independent coffee house with a good variety on their breakfast & lunch menu. So good we popped back within days for another try out. The team were very friendly and the place is spotless. Food (generous portions) & fresh ingredients & coffees arrived quickly and were lovely. Staff very friendly & seemed genuinely pleased to see mom again - she wears bonkers bright shoes!

A little gem in Welshpool. I live locally but am guilty of often avoiding the nice little places like Coco in town. Stopped off with my children before their haircuts and we were greeted warmly, food was prepared there and then and very tasty. Good selection of cakes and drinks also. Comfortable homely environment, definitely recommend for a stop off.

I love Coco ~ despite there being a couple of chain cafes in the same street, this is the only place I frequent, and the only place I recommend to visitors to the Steam Railway in town (I sometimes work in its shop). The food is great quality, the staff are lovely, the premises are sparklingly clean, and the coffee is the best (yes, even for somebody who always asks for a half-shot!). With long opening hours, you will always be assured of something to eat or drink when in town.

As soon as I entered I needed the toilet whilst my wife and freinds selected their seats and was told in no uncertain terms I had to purchase something to get the toilet code. This made me feel like I was an undesirable person and very unwelcome. If this is what the people in Welshpool are like I pitty anyone who visits.

After a walk around Powys Castle and into Welshpool through the deer park, we fancied a light snack for lunch. Didn't want chain food so went into Coco and were really pleased with our choice. Both went for the delicious pork and Shropshire blue sausage roll served hot. It came with a proper salad (leaves, cucumber, tomatoes and peppers with balsamic dressing) , so many larger establishments think that a salad is just dressed leaves! The red onion chutney was also lovely, sticky and sweet. We will definitely be back when next in town and so happy to support a small independent outlet.

We have been coming to Coco’s for a few years, the staff are friendly, food lovely and it’s a pleasant environment. I always used to enjoy the strong coffee served there but lately it seems milky and tasteless, almost as if the milk has been boiled. Perhaps since the refurbishment the machines have been changed. It doesn’t taste like barista coffee.

I'm writing this review as a concerned support worker for vulnerable adults with learning disabilities as one of my clients has expressed how upset she became after one of your staff members spoke quite abruptly and down right disrespectfull. We sat down to order drinks and food, one of the clients has autism and will ONLY have a sausage roll and drink from Greggs, we didn't think anything of this and returned back to coco's outdoor area to sit back down with the other clients and staff. This member of staff then burst out of the café doors, marched over to us and quite rudely said "There's definitely no chance you're eating that here, no way what so ever" and tried to scurry us away after one of my clients had already paid and was waiting on her order. She continued to try and belittle us by starring through the window. This is absolutely appalling behaviour towards disabled people and people in general, you should absolutely be ashamed and we WILL NOT be returning!!

We are local and visit Coco whenever we are in town for delicious coffee and cake. It is so important to support local shops and services, especially in the current Covid situation. The staff are all lovely and the service is excellent - the staff make a point of getting to know you and remembering your drink and food preferences, so you get a real personalised service - another benefit of local and independent, they make an effort! Dropped in after signing places in Welshpool to the Safe Place Community initiative. We were met by friendly staff. We enjoyed mugs of tea and we chose Bara Brith which was lovely. It was a nice atmosphere in there, warm and friendly. We were not rushed and before leaving we signed them up to Safe Places Shropshire. We had been asked to visit the area to tell people about the scheme. Everyone we met made us feel so welcome.

Nice coffee and cakes, spoilt by needing to be a body builder to open the toilet door, as it had to be locked due to non customers using it (angry verbally abusive gregg customers as said by the sign on the door!)

En route to Powys Castle and needing some sustenance, we called in and had bacon and cheese ciabattas, coffee and the most exquisite bara brith and blackcurrant flapjacks - I've never tasted nicer and at reasonable rates! Will definitely be returning to this little gem of a place.

Visiting from the Midlands and decided to drop in for coffee and cake. Lovely little independent coffee shop and very reasonably priced. Great service and quality food and drinks. Would come here over Costa any day!!!

Great staff, great products. Especially the cake........ great for an afternoon tea or coffee. The tiffin is great, but so are all the cakes

Definitely not the fine dining experience promised! Very disappointed, mediocre food with overcooked vegetables. Knew we were going to be disappointed when offered cheese savouries (think 1970’s party food) as an appetiser! Salt and pepper squid - lacking either salt or pepper but with the addition of soggy parsnip crisps and grapes. The waiting staff were pleasant!

Mock timber frame manor house retaining much of its character and charm. No lifts. Breakfast was choose your own pre-packed cereals with a cooked option. Dinner was a mini-taster with delicious options which we watched cooked on TV cameras. The room was clean but dated with an en-suit crammed in. High windows restricted light and views of extensive gardens and river. The staff were friendly and willing but lacked service training. Guests our age do not wish to be called 'you guys'.

We enjoyed a very tasty Christmas turkey lunch here yesterday, 3rd December 2024. Great little cafe, delicious food, friendly staff and great service. A little gem of a place...👌😊

Great place to stay. A friend and I cycled to the area and stayed here overnight. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. The room is a generous size with all the facilities you would want, and you have access to an outside deck area with lounge chairs and table which is ideal on a sunny day. The breakfast was also lovely. The location was great as it’s a 5 min walk from 2 good pubs and a post office/shop
