Came for a family meal after not being together for over a year, we had parent visiting from Kent, Clare & the team were amazing! We were a bit chaotic being 15 of us over 3 tables but all our food was brought out at the same time, it was delicious Thanks to the kitchen & bar staff too! Thank you!

From the start as we walked in the door we was greeted by a well presented gentleman that asked if we had a booking I said yes we did asked to do the track and trace and then we was shown to our table this gentleman was very professional and happy to be here .we sat down at our table and proceeded to order our food I was have a bit of a struggle with the app but got there in the end by some help from a nice lady called Claire she help me with the app and explained everything for me to understand the app this was a great pleasure to get the help this made me feel more comfortable with the app

Booked a table for 2, mega happy with our table placing. Every member of staff we're attentive and qucik serving! They wasn't busy but they we're on there feet and everyone seemed happy! Two members of staff stood out especially, Sam who seemed to be the floor manger and Amber who was Front of house. Friendly but professional and just made our time exactly what we wanted. Bar staff also we're on top form. Booking again for Saturday night and looking forward to it!

Came for a little lunch and ended up having the surf turf and cluck... They kindly changed chips to salad (not a boring one either). We were served by Claire who went above and beyond and even managed to change my pudding when I mentioned I was indecisive. Enjoyed it and will definitely come again...

the food was amazing and the service from our waitress. if we could choose our waitress we would request Clare every time, so helpful and fun. Our 9 yr old really enjoyed his night out(even though he didn’t want to go) The food was really good but Clare made it that much more special, thank you will definitely come back!!

Due to Covid the waiter told us we could only have two alcoholic drinks per person however the table next to us had an old couple they had a bottle of wine, 3 glasses of beer and the man asked for something alcoholic to finish off his coke. I paid £7 for a gin and it was half a glass. My food came out 10 minutes after the other meals on my table. Food was nice. Wouldn’t go again

Me and a few friends went for a meal after the lockdown boredom, we arrived on time and sat down after having the rules explained to us. We was told it was two drinks of anything so to make the most of our Wednesday night (since there's nothing to do but drink) we all ordered two pitchers each, abiding by the rules that was explained to us. The waiter came over to us and treated us quite rudely 'to stop taking the p*ss' and to use common sense or 'ill have you all leaving'. We told him that this wasn't explained at the start but nonetheless apologised and went to reorder our meal. A bit of time passed and as he was serving another table he walked passed ours and saw one of my friends on the Greene King app, he told us 'no point in ordering, youve took the p*ss, you're all leaving'. We all was in disbelief about how he handled us and the rudeness when this is our local and happily used to come most times a week before lockdown.

Surprisingly busy for a Monday night. Pub was very clean and staff were friendly. Food was just ok. I didn't really enjoy the lasagne and salad had seen better days but the food is cheap and you know when you come here it's not going to be gourmet. It was fine for a Monday night catch up.

Came down for a meal today, and it was amazing Mitch met us at the door and showed us to the table, and Sarah delivered our food! It was really good to see staff wearing face masks and keeping up hygiene standards with Emma constantly on top of the clearing and cleaning! Had a good time, will be back soon!

Cocked Hat Gosport…what a change Went to the Cocked Hat Gosport yesterday evening and what a pleasant surprise!It’s very local to us so very convenient but in the recent couple of years the standards have been below standard. Tables were sticky and the service was not great.Well I can only presume that it’s under new management. We were met at the door by a man that checked we had scanned the test and trace app, showed us to our perfectly clean table and explained very professionally the Covid system ( I think he may be the new manager)We were then greeted by our waitress who’s name was Kaz. Well she wouldn’t have been out of place if she was serving at the Ritz! So polite, friendly and helpful.The food was excellent. Our whole experience was a great surprise and we’ll be visiting more often again. Well done to the manager and his team (especially Kaz)

Just had a meal at the Cocked Hat. The food was good. The service was excellent with the waitress Caz looking after us, she was friendly and attentive with nothing to much trouble. Will certainly be back and would recommend it for food and drink.

Staying nearby for work, tried this place due to it being convenient, wow food was really good for pub gub, good jobs to the unsung hero's that work behind the line... good quality food! Only one Member of staff who stood out was "Cas".She suggested a what was good on the menu, and good customer retention and efficiently worked her job as a sales advisor by selling and giving good recommendations on products. I know a decent employee when i see one! Well done Cas

Visited this afternoon with friends for the first time since the new regulations into effect and wasnt disappointed! Food was great ,you get what you pay for but our waitress caz ( a young lady) was the highlight of the visit ,so very friendly and polite and so very attentive Thankyou for an amazing lunch!

Popped in today for some lunch. Lovely atmosphere! Waitress Caz was welcoming and friendly made me feel at ease. Glad to see they have many measures in place for COVID and are sticking to them as well. Highly recommend this venue!

Caz was friendly , cheerful, and bubbly. Great to have for a change. Place was clean and following guidelines recent changes were explained on arrival.

I Visited the Cocked Hat as a group of 4. We were greeted straight away and shown to our table. The new Covid rules were clearly explained and we ordered through the app. Our drinks were bought over very quickly, and our food came out in good time too. It was a Thursday so it was buy one get one free from the burger menu. We all had the chicken tikka Bombay bird burger and it was amazing! I definitely would have paid full price so the fact it was part of the BOGOF deal was even better. Our waitress, Claire, was friendly and attentive. I like someone with personality, who is chatty and that’s exactly what she was. Good experience all round. Would, and will come again!

Today was the First time back in the cocked hat in a while and I wasn’t disappointed I had such a lovely meal with my family food was amazing everything came out hot couldn’t have asked for better and Thankyou aswell to our lovely server Caz who made us feel so welcomed and made our meal that extra bit nicer we will definitely be back.

Popped in for a leisurely drink. Served by Claire who was very attentive and friendly. Service was excellent and we felt valued as customers supporting a local business. All staff were friendly and it was good to have Gareth, new manager, greeting and explaining the new government guidelines. Would recommend the pub as a safe venue to get out and enjoy being out socially.

Came here today with my OH and some friends for lunch and was greeted and told we can sit outside, then told to go to the bar and order drinks but we hadnt been given a table number yet. Was abruptly told the table number and while ordering the drinks was given further rudeness and spoken to completely out of turn. I asked to set up a tab and was met with more rudeness. I am highly unimpressed with the lack of hospitality and terrible service as plates were on our table for far longer than necessary and we will not be returning. Please train your front of house staff on how to be at least cordial. The food was lovely the only saving grace.

Booked a table at the Cocked Hat Gosport yesterday. I was very impressed with the way it had been set up for covid. Made me confident about eating out again. Food was good staff were friendly and helpful especially the lady on bar think her name was Claire she was really helpful and welcoming. Shall return again definitely

Booked a table for half 7, was early and managed to get seated anyhow, restaurant was very clean and tidy. We were seated by a very friendly server called Sarah, she went above and beyond with me and my son and when something went wrong with the food it was quickly replaced and she couldn't apologise enough and even gifted us a free pudding. Food was amazing and the customer service was second to none. Thank you for everything you done for me and my family tonight Sarah you made eating out a pleasure.

Wife and I came here for an early dinner at 1715. Tables a good distance apart, member of staff at the entrance to describe what’s changed which was helpful. Reduced menu which had plenty for everyone on it. Food came out quickly and was very nice. Girl who was serving us was very helpful. All round great experience.

We came here today as its been a while since we went to our favourite local pub.They have very good social distancing in place.Staff make you feel very welcome, We arrived they took our details for track and trace.Showed us to a table it was a week day so it was quieter than normal.We ordered our food and drink through the app and got table service which was fantastic.Our meal was very nice.Compliments to the chef Andy.

Had a great visit last night. The 50% off made it a bargain meal out for the family and even though it was busy the team were very friendly and helpful. Would definetly recommend.

We booked a table a week in advance. Upon arrival we were told that even though we had booked they didn't have a table for us. Basically they had taken too many bookings! They were extremely understaffed and the staff that were there were very rude. We ordered via the app which was easy enough to do, but then our food arrived before our drinks (our food took 40 minutes!) and we had to ask them where our drinks were. We ordered more drinks which again took 30 minutes and we only got them because we asked a server to see where they were... Social distancing is not being followed as the tables were placed very close together and the tables weren't even being wiped down after use. There were three tables with the same number as ours so we kept receiving the wrong order. Overall we were very disappointed!

We where a amazed how the cocked hat had sorted the social distancing,fewer tables well spread out lots of arrows to show the correct ways to go,the staff told you the rules and the system they where using great,no problems they have got it right, food was brill will go again this week i recommend you book up

The only thing that let this place down is one member of staff, the tall skinny short haired lady who greeted us with a plastic covering was stood for over 10 mins entertaining 2 ladys in the garden, and kept going back out the whole time we were there, now im not being funny but im sure she is not paid to do so while the rest of the staff are working to the best of there ability!the food and rest of staff were very welcoming and it was very good visit once again, i juat feel there should not be one rule for 1 and another rule for another!

Visited Saturday and had lunch on the off chance we would get a table, very good cleaning controls in place and pleased with the food very muchHowever there was an employee behind the bar and she using bad words about other employees that worked there, we would visited again but don’t think people should be talking like that in hospitality, I hope you speak to the older lady and as we visited all the time last year and never saw her, we love there Claire and she always helps usThank you

We phoned up last minute for a booking for two tables and they were able to accommodate us. The service was friendly and the app to order food and drinks worked well. The food was lovely and freshly cooked.

Choosing to finally enter a restaurant after a rocky few months, me and my husband were initially quite scared for our own safety but had heard good things for this pub so gave it a go. Whilst some things really impressed us, other things still concerned us whilst watching a few members of staff getting slightly too close to eachother. I don't believe all members were like this but a few must have suddenly forgot where they were as they didn't stick to social distancing. It was a shame as we came here hoping to feel safe. On the other hand the food we ordered was just perfect and we give our thanks to a wonderful team who work behind closed doors in the kitchen. We will still return in due course when we feel we are ready too again and we just hope some staff take on board what we noticed so other guests don't see anything. Thanks for a nice experience and we hope on our next visit some people take this safety a little more seriously.

Just want to say how impressed I was with the server clare, she made my visit feel safe and welcoming and very enjoyable. Always cleaning which is great. Food was amazing as well and can’t wait to come back again to see clare and the try more of the menu, have not been here for a long time and nice to be back . Keep up the good work

Went in today for first time since lockdown ended, seated very quickly, great service with drinks being brought to our table. Food very prompt and nice a hot. Overall fantastic experience, well done to everyone - keep up the safe work.

First restaurant experience since re open for me. Very good experience. Friendly staff. Quick service via the app. Our wait staff headed by Sarah were efficient and attentive. Overall considering circumstances very good.

Came in yesterday for a meal evening with a bunch of mates, greated by friendly staff at the door quick and easy to be seated. Personally I think they're doing an amazing job at social distancing! Wasn't too sure at first but the have a sophisticated track and trace and one way system.Our waiter was christy I believe. Well done to her and the rest of the staff. Throughly enjoyed the meal good to be back to some normality!

Food was awful, we went there for my daughters 18th Birthday, the chicken was really watery, food was cold, it’s obvious that they are serving pre cooked food which has been frozen. I felt for the waitress as she was trying really hard to put things right. It was empty except for one other table and they had a meal missing and then a desert missing. Very poor quality food, I will never go there again.

We arrived at 17:15 with a reservation for 7 people. We were we seated by a member of staff. Once we had all chosen our food we went to order to be told the kitchen was shut as they couldn’t cope. It would be at least an hour and a half wait before it reopened. We weren’t told this when we sat down. As we left I counted 19 empty tables out of around 30. Most people already had food so not sure why the kitchen was shut. We obviously left for a place that could honour reservations and basic principles of service.

Cheap and cheerful local pub with great food and friendly welcoming staff. Works ever time. Thanks to Dan, Katie, Andy and Chelsea, who looked after us.

Amazing food, great sizes. The chef put alot if effort in to our food. All the bar staff where super helpful and chatty too. I took my son here as a treat, we now actually come here weekly as the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Thanks cocked hat, not only great food and friendly staff, its affordable too! Happy here !

Booked for the valentines day steak offer and upgraded from Rump to Ribeye. It was one of the best steaks I've had in some time. Thoroughly recommend a visit, even when not on offer the prices are very reasonable.

Was pleasantly surprised that the food and drink were well above average for this type of establishment. Have eaten in so many types of pubs of this kind with many different breweries and this rates highly. A special thank you to all the staff especially Sam. Will use your pub again.

Got to admit, I wouldn’t have gone if I’d have read the recent reviews here. This was our first visit for a few years. Last visit was ok, but was very busy and food took a while. This was totally different from what I’m reading from other recent visit reviews. It’s clear the place is under new leadership with lots of staff changes; food was good quality, arrived promptly, and service was cheerful and friendly. The restaurant and facilities was clean and well cared for and seating spacious.

In at 14:00 so as expected it was not busy. No fish and chips left so I ordered scampi. 45 minutes later I asked what the waiting time was for food and told it was 20 minutes. On explaining the time I had been waiting they informed me that the food had been delivered to an empty table. They offered me a new plate as they took the old one away. I did not fancy them bringing it back after a blast in the microwave so I left. This is the third time this has happened to me here ( similar at two other pubs in the area, once each). Best just to avoid.

Hour and a half wait for food. When it did arrive 4 of the orders were wrong. Long, long wait at the bar. Heard many other customers complaining about the food and saw waitresses returning food to the kitchen that was sub standard. Will NEVER return. Would have given it 0 out of 5 rating if I was able to but 1 is the lowest mark you can give it

We really like the place itself but for some reason they never seem to get the staff right. We have used this place several times over the years and each we go we hope it's better than the last time. The food once we got it was really nice, the problems were with the staff behind the bar, there was one barmaid who seemed to know what she was doing. When we came to ordering our food, first there was a large queue and not enough staff, when we got to the front of the queue the girl serving was sent to clear tables and the person talking over then started arguing with other staff about how orders should be taken, we eventually ordered and were told it was a 40 minute wait but it would probably be quicker than that, after an hour and ten minutes we had to ask where our food was and were told it was just being plated up. Like I said the food was lovely but I wish they could have better staff and more of them

Expect a delay of over an hour from ordering for food to be delivered, I's good quality but steep - No weekday deals on a Saturday or Sunday. Have staff verify what you are ordering at time because I ordered Onion Rings as a side (£1.60) but was delivered Onion Rings Stacker (£5.29). Server claimed I had ordered this and it couldn't be revoked.

Came for dinner with my best friend and her son yesterday, the food was delicious and perfectly cooked to a great standard ! They unfortunately didn’t have a few items but came out to us very quickly to make us aware and asked if we’d like something else instead which was great, after the food arrived the lovely Sarah from the kitchen came out and had a good conversation and she really is someone who is bringing the cocked hat back to the level of standards we once all enjoyed. The bar staff were super friendly and served us with perfect manner. Would like to thank your team for providing such a great service yesterday. We will be back of course

Ran out of beans, corn on the cob and garlic bread. Is it under new management as it seemed different. Won’t be going back for a while till we hear it’s got better.

Had a lovely meal at the cocked hat gosport Sunday 19th January afternoon. I would just lie to complement the service I received especially at the bar the young lady Claire who served me. Family of seven, lot of money spent, food came out colder than should have been, service was average and had to correct server several times on food being delivered as wrong foods kept coming, would have hoped for a much better visit especially with amount spent!!! Not best impressed

This establishment has improved greatly in both food and service , asked about the vegan options and information regarding allergies as a person in our party had to be very careful regarding certain allergies and the chef was very knowledgable and very helpful, definitely on the up again and will be returning sooner rather than later
