I go here frequently but lately don't want to because of such rude customer service. Today I walked in the door 20 minutes before closing time only for the woman to snap 'we're closed!' And wave her hand angrily at me. Its an extremely unpleasant and unnecessary way to speak to people, and unfortunately not the first time.

Recently changed hands. Not as good as the previous 5 star ownership; not bad, just not as good!

I recently visited Cobbs Coffee Shop for the first time, and unfortunately, it will also be our last. The experience was disappointing, particularly in terms of customer service. When my partner requested to change his order from a standard latte to a caramel latte, the response we received was less than accommodating. We were bluntly told that in the future, he should be clearer about his order. This kind of attitude is not what we expected. The prices also seemed high for what we received. We paid £14.60 for a latte, a cappuccino, a cup of milk, and a hot chocolate. To add to our disappointment, all of our drinks were served in paper cups. When you go out to enjoy a coffee, part of the experience is the ambiance and drinking from something more refined than a disposable cup. Overall, our visit to Cobbs Coffee Shop left much to be desired. We were hoping for a relaxing coffee break but were met with subpar service and an underwhelming experience.

In just before 3.00pm, was told " No food " blackboards and menus still up, nothing to say they stopped serving food at 3.00pm. Got a tea and coffee in dispoable cup and cheese scone, very dry and tasteless. Seating uncomfortable wooden benches. Toilet was grubby, tap on wash hand basin hanging out and nothing to dry hands on, hand dryer not working and no paper towels.

Having been a loyal Cobbs customer for ten years, I was shocked at how far downhill it has gone. Staff were under way too much pressure, orders were wrong and food was not the usual standard

Stephan is acting very strange around customers and staff would not hire this guy for my company and the company who has hired him needs to rethink there decisions very unprofessional and shocking behaviour from a “manager” the manager should also keep up with cleaning

We had drinks and snacks but found each not even average for this area. The staff seemed as though they didn't want to serve you. The place looked untidy and unkempt. Will never go again and I very rarely say that.

This has to be the worst, most unfriendly cafe I have ever visited, the attitude of the staff was horrendous and the girl who served us was openly hostile to my husband and very rude. The food and drinks were over priced and the coffee wasn't very good, so much so my friend left most of her coffee but non of the staff cared enough to ask why. We will never visit this place again and if you're in the vicinity I suggest you find a different coffee shop.

Bad experience. I had a croissant which they write " hot" on the menu but It was far from being hot. The rest was ok but not to return.

Had the worst baguette of my life. Epic for the wrong reasons. The bread was hardly tosted and defrosted. The ch9cken and bacon tasted weird (really strange and in lumps) and then there was a yellow/orange ball on the side...and yes, it was the cheeses. It was poorly cooked and even worst presented. First and last! Please, go somewhere else, its not worth the fuss (and its full because is central and the choice in Avimore is limited). I feel sorry for the staff that i am sure are trying their best but it's really bad

We’ve been coming here for years. Pre cobbs was amazing. Sadly downhill since they took it over. Hardly ever open and I wish today it hadn’t been. Food is sub par. Drinks served in take away cups. And the toilets .. only go in there if you are really desperate. Ham and cheese toastie pictured for reference.

Quite possibly one of the worst coffees I’ve ever had anywhere. The barista - if you could stretch the definition enough to call them that - used the same coffee puck to make 4 coffees. She first made two coffees for the people in front of us and then made ours, all of the coffee only had half of a double shot and the milk was burned as they left the steam wand in the pitcher and then walked away to do other things. If you’re into awful coffee this is 100% the place for you.

Food for breakfast was terrible.breakfast cold.Coffee cold. No butter for toast.Had to have scrambled egg as the machine for fried eggs was broken. The scrambled egg was cold with no colour and tasted disgusting.We ordered two breakfasts, one filter coffee and a cappuccino. The total was just over £29. Another man was complaining the food was unsatisfactory and was informed butter for toast was at the side of the counter. We got told the cutlery was at bottom,but not about the butter.Needless to say we wont be back.

Went in for breakfast this morning with my husband. Two breakfasts,filter coffee cappuccino. Cost just over £29.Black pudding fell apart.The single sausage was cold,had to have scrambled egg because the machine broke. Cold light coloured egg will green bits in it tasted awful. Mushrooms cold also. Toast set on top, no butter. One other customer was already complaining when asked how his breakfast was. He was informed butter was at side of counter.Never been there before,so don't know. We were told to collect cutlery at bottom. No mention of butter. Needless to say first and last visit.

Oh dear. I ordered a porridge and toast but watched them empty the contents of a shop-bought porridge pot into a bowl and add some water. On seeing this, I cancelled the porridge but had the toast which had some raw onion on it - not too nice with marmalade. The staff were nice and refunded the porridge but a pretty poor experience.

Someone teach the cook how to cook eggs been twice this month both times the eggs were half raw its not difficult.Not as good as it use to be will be trying another coffee shop next time im up. But the coffee was ok and the place its self is nice enough.

Have a cappuccino and a hot croissant with butter and jam. The coffee was pretty bad and so was the croissant, apart from it being very small and industrial, it wasn't a bakery.

The worst “coffee” I have ever had in my life!! It tasted as if someone had poured water into the cup after drinking coffee. I poured it out right after I left. Never again !

What a great place to start the day. Friendly staff, quick service, satisfying food and coffee. The cakes and traybakes looked amazing as well.

Dog friendly. A little kids area unstaita. Nice food, interior abit worn, sat outside as weather was nice. Would go again.

Went in for a peek, outside raining so looking to hide and find a coffee. Very unfriendly lady ask “are you gone sit or what” Outside we find a sign: Dogs are welcome. Guests not we experienced 🥲

update, The place has a new owner, new crew, new chef. The quality has dropped. From five stars to two. The best Hot Topped Nachos ever!!! Very friendly atmosphere and Very friendly people working here! Nice price also. Very testy food.

I’ve had a scone with cream and jam and a cappuccino at Cobbs Cafe. The scone was really nice, the coffee was okay.

Sat down and looked at the menu. Unfortunately they don't really cater for those who have to eat gluten free, so had to leave and eat elsewhere.

Nice cafe. The 5 of us sat in to have a late lunch. The hot chocolates were a good size and true to their name, served hot (not tepid like other places) The paninis we had were fresh, hot and tasty. The only complaint is that all of the seating is either wooden benches with no backs or wooden chairs, with no cushions or soft furnishings. All of which are very uncomfortable (whether you’re young or old !) if you’re wanting to sit for more than 10 mins 🥲 The lack of soft furnishings in the cafe meant that it’s quite noisy and the sound of clanging pots and clinking plates as the food and drinks are prepared reverberate around the cafe. The noise levels can be quite intense if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing.

The most disappointing coffee I have ever had. Watery, Luke warm and tasted mildly of someone else’s hot chocolate. Yes it was busy but clearly the staff were cutting corners and rushing them out. Clean your coffee machine. Put in new grounds. Steam your milk for enough time to actually heat it up.

Up from Glasgow for a break. Nice cafe run by nice people. Support your local business. This is one of them.

I've recently moved to Aviemore and have been visiting the local cafes to find the ones I would like to visit on a regular basis. Tried Cobbs twice and it definitely won't be one I will be going back to. Plus Points:- Good location in centre of Aviemore Opens 7.30am Minus Points:- Average coffee Bored staff Dismal and depressing decor Large TV blaring Shame, as it could be a great wee cafe having a dual aspect and good location. But it felt like they're relying on tourists coming in once and not returning. They could take a leaf out of Ryvoan Cafe which is superior in every way.

Arrived later in the day after a walk around 2.45pm. Checked online and there was nothing to say anything about not serving food other than it’s take away after 3.30pm. When we ordered bacon rolls we were told it was too late to order breakfast food. Nothing on the menu to say this. After ordering toasties, they came out far too quickly with the cheese not melted and tasting of rubber. We felt like an inconvenience and the staff just wanted to close the kitchen. They have also put in new benches which are not comfy and there were several older ladies in for a coffee who were struggling with them.

Good coffee and cake in dog friendly cafe when passing through. Busy but service was quick. Upstairs for loo if needed. Could see other diners having meals and all looked good.

Friendly staff, really reasonably priced menu and decent coffee. Looks small but has more seating upstairs. Dogs allowed downstairs and there is seating outside too.

A warm welcome and excellent levels of service, very accommodating with our dietary requests, would certainly recommend

Came here following a chilly swim in Loch Morlich on Christmas Eve! Delicious latte and aero hot chocolate! Very very tasty bacon/turkey/brie/cranberry paninis from the Christmas menu (one of the best paninis we have ever had)! Lovely cake to finish! Will be back! Thank you and Happy Christmas!

Just going to call this place over the handling/storage of their food. I ordered 2 x tuna salad rolls today...the salad was cold (so had been refrigerated) but the lettuce was limp and slightly discoloured...certainly not fresh. I was happy enough with that BUT the tuna was look warm! Obviously not refrigerated and I suffered later that day...I wasn't actually sick thankfully but sweating and not feeling great at all...all I could think about was that warm tuna...the only thing I'd eaten all day so I'm absolutely certain, the food was to blame.

I stopped here twice in the past month and the food is very good. I had a bacon roll and coffee breakfast and a Cheese and ham toastie with salad lunch on the second occasion. The ingredients are all top quality, carefully prepared and skilfully cooked.

Aviemore is looking sad and tired and sorely lacking decent places to stop for food. Cobbs fills that gap, you get a really nice panini with a lovely salad but £7.95 , ouch. It really needs an overhaul and brightening up but there is not excuse for the tables being dirty. We ate upstairs and ended up getting spray and cloths off the trolley and cleaning the table ourselves before the food came. We did get a free re-fill on a drink however which was nice. Come on Cobbs, you could be so much nicer with a lick of paint and a better cleaning routine!!

Reheated expensive breakfast not good for tourism

1- The staff were rude and blunt, except one or two of the younger ones working there. When asking questions about the food they replied as if we were stupid. 2- It’s not very clean, the tables were sticky and had crumbs on them, even after a tiny wipe they were of course still sticky. 3- The pre-packaged food like the empire biscuits and ice cream are lovely, but made in a factory or bakery somewhere else. The hot food we ordered was warm-ish and lacked flavour. The coffee was bitter yet very bland and watery. However they sell drinks like coke and Fanta which are nice

Visited here today in a small group whilst travelling back to England. We were very pleased with the variety of food on offer - great quality and a good portion size for the price - and the excellent service that came with it too! The lady who served us at the till was so lovely, the food came out quick and she made sure everything was as we'd hoped for. She even gave us a cake to leave with. Would definitely visit again! Thank you!

Food average. Presentation poor. Service mixed. Aviemore is sadly lacking choice on a Sunday morning. Won't be hurrying back to Cobb's.

Went into another cafe nearby and the male person behind the counter saw us take a seat having removed our coats and join friends. Went to the counter to be told he was not serving new customers. Just nearby we were looking at Cobbs and a lady staff member opened the door and invited us inside. Usual cafe and must admit the young lady behind the counter looked like she wished to be somewhere else. Our drinks arrived quickly and were good and shortly after my cheese and red onion sandwich arrived. This was large with a side portion of salad and thin fries which was more than adequet, Very good cafe type food and drink.

Had the kid's breakfast -- just the perfect portion for me. Friendly staff and good service :)

Lovely relaxed cafe with great coffee and reasonable prices. Extraordinarily great staff!

We were in town for a week, came here three times! If you are having an active day, soup and a sandwich will sort you right out. Fresh, clean food that will keep you going. We even came on the last day for the breakfast. Pancakes and bacon? Sold

Full breakfast was so so, all precooked except the eggs and maybe the toast. Two of us sat at a table for four, another couple sat at the spare seats. When our food came, the server just reached over the table between the other couple to hand over our plates instead of going around and serving from behind us. HOW RUDE!! I felt I had to apologise to the customers sitting beside us. I won't go back. Only good thing I have to say is their coffee is good.

Had a very nice baguette with chicken, salad and crisps for a very fair price. Clean place, fine service.

The roll sausage was really good, the mocha was mediocre, The manners and communication from the staff was atrocious.

Great tasting breakfast bap. The Lorne Sausage was fantastic. Outside seating in Aviemore just gives you the chance to take the village (and the weather) all in.

Lovely warm friendly greeting on arrival, clean tables. We ordered Scottish breakfast ( for lunch) and goats cheese and chutney baguette. They arrived in good time freshly cooked fresh ingredients that were really tasty. They also offer a wide range of choice including vegan and vegetarian and cakes. Worth a visit

Although I arrived at 09:30 and there was a Queue, this demonstrates that it must be good and it was. The queue disappeared rapidly and food appeared rapidly delicious 😋😋

Good we looked at the menu on the st. I'm gluten free, they were very accommodating and gave me a great gf free breakfast. Would highly recommend if you are in the area

Incredible special: homemade soup, salad, crisps, a croque monsieur and cake. We waddled out at closing time (4pm) and didn't need an evening meal.

Visited yesterday, homemade soup was lovely but really think the takeaway food that does not require table service, cutlery etc should be more reasonably priced. Paid £4.95 for a small takeaway coffee cup of soup, with a very thin slice of basic supermarket bread. I think £3 maximum for a takeaway soup, was a bit disappointed with that but the food itself was nice.

Grubby place. Dirty tables. Terrible service. Poor quality badly cooked food. Would not recommend or return.

Ordered a latte and tea which were lovely also a piece of toffee cake which was delicious and got quite a big piece not too pricey..definitely recommend visiting if your Aviemore

An honest cafe serving a delicious breakfast. It isn't fancy but it is tasty! Breakfast rolls are great value and a wonderful antidote after a night of whisky!

Fantastic coffee - best coffee in Aviemore, in fact one of the best coffees I’ve ever had anywhere! Lovely very young lad brought our drinks to us - very impressive customer service from such a young person!

Great to see that they are open early. Unfortunately, we ordered coffee and filled rolls for an impromptu breakfast. Coffee was really bad, burnt with a definite machine quality, rolls were dry and we were placed in a table in a corner with no windows, and it felt like a walk-in cupboard....the cafe really needs to improve its customer experience....

The scones and pancakes are delicious and the coffee is very good! Definitely recommend.

Popped in for 2 coffee's to go before a trip on the steam train at 10:30, you have to be at the train (10:20), placed my order just after 10, by 10:17 when I had to run to the train station they still hadn't started making my coffee's. During my wait a seated customer asked when his rolls would be ready, he was told by a waitress it would be a couple of minutes before she returned behind the counter to say, "there's a guy moaning about his rolls" not to anyone in particular but loud enough for us and the staff to hear.

We thought this was going to be a nice popular cafe so we popped in for coffee and cake. The staff were ok but when ordering at the till another couple complained about the waitress spilling their coffee over the table which hadn’t been cleaned...

Absolutely delicious food and great service. Had the Bacon and Cheese Croissant and I didn't expect to get a side salad and chips! Really good and the prices are excellent!

Nice wee cafe with great service. However the breakfast rolls had no butter on then and the bacon was unsmoked and under cooked. That being said the over all experience and other breakfast items were good and if a high standard.

Stopped into aviemore for some breakfast e route up north. This place offers everything you could possibly imagine! Wonderful food excellent service great value for money! May look busy but there’s additional seating upstairs’

Excellent food with amazing prices! We came here over the course of two days: one for a quick drink and a snack and the second day we came for breakfast. The staff were always welcoming, greeting us as we walked in the door. They always...

Excellent meal from the specials board, soup, panni,salad with crisps followed by a cake of your choice, great value. Staff are very attentive, premises are clean and well kept.

Great little cafe, very busy when we came but the staff seemed used to it and handled the crowd very efficiently. The food was absolutely amazing and the coffee was good.

The girl on the coffees at breakfast time around half 10 today was very rude there is no need when mistakes are made it happens no need to be that rude to a customer she’s needing paid off but the young guy that brings the food out was really nice and helpful and the breakfast was really good but staff like that ruined it before we even got it we wanted to leave

A bit of a mixed experience. Food was nice, service from a young man who I believe was called Mark was fabulous! He was very friendly and welcoming. However, a young woman was being quite snippy and rude towards him, which left a really unpleasant...

Most of the staff were rude and looked miserable. The food was OK but nothing above average. The Coffee was pretty bitter and had more foam than coffee which to be honest can be quite nice but not when you want coffee when it’s cold...

Nice little cafe with a good range of selection. The breakfast was great and staff are friendly.

Stopped over for brunch. Ordered a vegetarian breakfast and full English breakfast. We sat at the first table inside the cafe. Food arrived and did not look great. The food was piled high on each plate and mine - the vegetarian has two eggs which someone has already described as 'hockey pucks' as they did not look like normal fried eggs. The mushrooms and peppers were piled on and just looked as if the whole plate had been microwaved as nothing looked normal. Also there was steam coming off the food. It was so bad that I couldn't eat it and had the toast and tea that came with. I did go up to the counter when we were leaving as I wanted to know how the food was cooked. The cook showed me a type of pan that the eggs are done in and still don't know how they were cooked as it wasn't a frying pan. If you want good nutritious food and you want to enjoy your meals - this isn't a place I would recommend. Hopefully the owners see this review and take action. PS. the photos on google of this place are not the same - the cafe is much more well worn and needing a paint job.

Before we set off for our mini break I researched places in Aviemore for breakfast and came across Cobbs. Due to things we had planned for our trip we needed somewhere that could provide breakfast before 9am, and Cobbs opening times ensured this was the place to go. Let's just say it was a good choice. We had breakfast here every morning of our trip. The food was great, just what you need when you have a full day ahead of you. Reasonably priced and good quality. Especially loved the lorne sausage and the popcorn slice that my partner had to get twice (one of which to take back home to enjoy after our over 8 hour journey ahead) The staff were very friendly, which is always a credit to an establishment. We chose to sit downstairs every day but there is seating upstairs, which includes some comfy looking sofas. Overall a great place to go!

Tomorrow will be the third full Scottish breakfast my other half and I will have had in 3 days. If you go anywhere else then I hope you learn from your mistakes, this breakfast is to die for!!!
