The restaurant had great views overlooking the loch. The staff was friendly but mostly inattentive. They forgot about our drinks…including tap water for the table. The risotto swimming in oil. Filet was just ok. Chips were good. Maybe stick with seafood. The Hoppy Ness IPA was good. Overall, just ok.

La comida llegó bastante rápido, estaba deliciosa. Atención muy amable, además me ayudaron con un tema de mi reserva de vuelo y eso es un plus. Si van a Lockness…infantable pasar por ahí.

Visited here and had soup of the day, and ham and cheese toastie. Both very tasty and big cups of tea, which were very welcoming.

My husband and I came here for dinner on the recommendation of our hotel's concierge. What I liked: - The food is very good! I ordered a 'Cullin Skink' - a cream of potato soup with leeks and smoked haddock. It was quite tasty. I also ordered some garlic bread which was as expected. I also ordered a side salad but was delivered a Cobb salad. Still, it was tasty with feta cheese. Hubby got the fish special which was also tasty. The highlight (other than the soup) was the dessert-a gooey toffee cake with vanilla ice cream...I was worried we would embarrass ourselves by licking the plate, it was so good!! - Service was quick, friendly and attentive. -Not a lot of people there. During the day, this place is a meeting point for the boat cruise down the loch, and it is packed. Not so at dinnertime. It was great to have nearly the whole place to ourselves. -The view of Loch Ness from our seat was fabulous. It doesn't get much better than this. What I didn't like: -It was pretty warm in there. But we went during a heatwave, and I think every place (including our hotel) was ill equipped to deal with the warm weather. -On the above note, hubby and I stepped out on the back walk for some cool air which apparently is used by staff. There was a lot of trash around that area. Granted, under normal conditions we would never have ventured out on the back walk; nevertheless, it was still an unpleasant view. Overall, a great place to get a meal. I recommend it.

Two years ago, we ate dinner at Cobbs for our anniversary. We came away with many good memories - the food, the authentic Highland setting, the service, the ambience. We couldn't wait to go back for another anniversary dinner. We were so disappointed that the entire restaurant had changed from a traditional Scottish seafood restaurant to a light, bright, blue, modern version of any seafood restaurant anywhere in the world. The food was still good, the service just OK, but the biggest disappointment was the atmosphere. When you travel across the world and anticipate a wonderful meal in an old favorite restaurant and find that everything has changed (and not for the better), it's a huge disappointment. Sadly, we will not go back.

we drove round lochness and decided we wanted some lunch.. very busy but we didn't have long to wait to be served... we had a toasted sandwich which was ok but the cakes were delicious.. staff friendly... cleanish as you would expect in a food outlet.

When you have a captive audience, you have two choices: to be the best you can be and leave them feeling delighted with the experience or to be a disorganised, chaotic mess that overcharges and leaves the audience wishing you'd fall in the loch. Cobbs go for the second option. As they are the only source of hot food at the exhibition centre, people crowd in before going on the loch cruises, while having a break etc. So to only have one person serving at one till while one other member of staff makes the coffees is nuts. Add to that no prices on any of the sandwiches or paninis make it a guessing game until you are presented with the bill. The tiny self serve area leads to inevitable queues backing up round the tables. The hot food is again unpriced and, when the chips haven't arrived, you pay for it and sit down. And sit down. And go up and ask. And get told "in a minute". Have that on repeat for 20 minutes until you are chewing the table with a combination of hunger and frustration and then you spot people walking past you with plates of hot food, including chips. So you go back to the counter, fighting through the people waiting, get a hapless grin from the original server. Ask the second server who was on the till for your food. Get it slopped onto the plate and then a third member of staff, who has just appeared as if by magic on the till tells you you have to pay for it. Again. Sad really, because it has the potential to be a great little cafe but with its audience there on demand, there's no reason for it to change and people will still leave feeling ripped off.

Staying at the nearby Dornoch Caravan and Camping site we walked into Dornoch for a meal. We chose The Coach House because it is dog friendly. We received a warm welcome by staff and locals alike along with their dogs. Our haddock and chips arrived promptly and were delicious. However, our Westie started making a fuss. One of the locals and then a member of staff offered to “dog sit” so we could enjoy our meal. Exceptional! Thanks to all involved.

This Country Hotel lacks love and attention. Outside front and sides are very tall weeds, the flower boxes were full of wilted. Car park resembles a quary.. On entering the dining room was well presented albeit I felt it chilly . Only 3 diners and we had to wait to see if we would be accommodated. We were..we sat at our table and the really lovely young server took our order limited menu and 3 choices off that evening.. Food was just OK...not value for money @ £17.95 for haddock and chips. Overall not the greatest.. I'd love to see the outside tidied up and give the hotel some road side appeal

After arriving at skye and looking for places to eat this proved a little difficult as it was out of season and places had limited opening hours. We went for Gabbro bar after seeing it on google maps. The pictures of food looked passable. After getting there having to get our own wipes to clean the table after ordering things weren't looking good, then the toilets were very rundown and like a back street bar toilets. The food then came out in baskets, lined with greaseproof paper. (Something you would expect in a arcade) Fish and chips and the macaroni and chips. Even a plate would have been acceptable even though the fish was clearly out the freezer and very greasy. To top it off a random dog was wandering around trying to smell the food on the table and pushing its way under the table to check for any food.

The fab cinnamon buns elevated our coffee stop from great to awesome! Other really yummy cakes are available. Oh, and the vegan tomato pizza swirl looked great too if you fancy a savoury.

A total shambles. Sunday carvery .couldn't eat any of the meat as mostly fat.Plates so small you can't get much else on the plate.waitress saw me trying to catch her attention and hid .eventually came over sheepish with bill and at that point looked at all the fatty meat on plate and her response was sorry about that .we then never say any staff .They had vanished into kitchen .On our way out there was a lady who had mobility issues annoyed there was no disabled access just a set of very steep stairs .£24 each for 2 courses and only starter choice was soup.Dont waste your time .
