Just returned from a short break in Lyme Regis and wanted to give some praise to the Cobb Arms which we visited for an evening meal whilst there. Great food, the fish and chips are probably the best I've ever had. Large portions, delicious fish cooked to perfection and gluten free too, Ceoliacs take note. Nice puds, good choice and all served with a smile from the lovely, friendly staff. We will definitely go back to Lyme Regis and when we do we will definitely return to the Cobb Arms.

Dave's the best provider of cocktail sticks. Food is lovely. Service phenomenal. Carly does a wonderfully humourous impression of a pig oinking when provoked into laughter by unruly customers. We'll come back, we're like boomerangs.

We were recommended this restaurant by family & friends and took the opportunity to go whilst in Lyme Regis. Staff were lovely and very accommodating. It was the food that was the let down. Upon receiving my fritto misto I was surprised how sparse it was for a £12 dish. Granted a starter but very sparse given the price. My husband enjoyed his steak & ale pie. Pudding was the chocolate brownie and recommended by the waitress. We both ate a quarter before abandoning it. There was none of the gooey centre and crunch on the outside that brownies are renowned for. it was just some chocolate goo stuck to a plate. Unfortunately really unappetising.

Always stop in Lyme Regis on way back from Devon. Recommended the Cobb to partners daughter and wife as had lovely meal last year. Two things really to highlight the well cooked hake arrived luke warm on a very cold heritage tomato salad with soggy croutons. The vegetable pie should be called " mushroom " pie as it was really devoid of vegetables, accompanying vegetables were "crisp" although colourful, scampi ok, fritto misto (sparse for £12) ok.

Went to the Cobb Arms for Sunday lunch with our pals and their 2 strapping teenage lads in the naughty corner of the rest. Superb choice of food, nothing too much trouble. Rob and his staff were terrific, warm and friendly/smiley. Very pleased indeed with the quality, quantity and attention to detail on our plates. I had the scollops and prawns on sewers with crisp salad for my main. The restaurant also has interiors for sale, especially up on the walls pictures, posters, lamps etc, so if you see anything you fancy, you can buy it. #happydays

Really lovely experience here. We popped in as we were in Lyme Regis for the day, we just wanted some snacks and a drink. I'll start with the good - The staff were friendly and helpful, each and every one of them were lovely. The food itself was delicious, we shared a crab sandwich, prawns and a garlic bread. The garlic bread is up there with the best I've ever tasted. Good selection of largers, ales and local beers. Good arrived hot and extremely quickly which was surprising as they were very busy when we were there. It's also a beautiful location! The not so good - No cutlery on the table when our food arrived, which I have to say was noticed by the manager and rectified immediately. The toilets really let this place down, I can only comment on the women's but their was no light in the nappy change area, and no toilet roll in the toilet I went to use.

On a blustery grey day it was nice to get out of the wind and be greeted with a welcoming smile and friendly words. From there on it just got even better. Super friendly staff, decent selection suitable for most tastes and pockets. There were four of us, each had a different meal, none were disappointed. I had the Pork Belly and even if I wanted to, I could not fault anything on my plate. Best meal I have had out all week, and this is number five so far. Treat yourself to a friendly atmosphere where someone knows how to cook. It gets a pin on my map for a further visit when in the area.

Lovely food, atmosphere and staff. Rob and the team couldn’t have been more accommodating, including taking care to check the food was safe for our nut allergic children to eat, and knowing what to do when our autistic son was struggling with a menu change. Ordered the fish and chips and it was amazing. The mushy peas, home made tartare sauce, delicious golden/orange chips, beautiful fresh fish (and plenty of it) in delicious batter. I have never in my 50 years of eating, had fish and chips that was so good I didn’t need to have any tomato sauce or vinegar with it. Already had some salt seasoning. And that alone was just perfect. Normally plaster the ketchup on, but genuinely so nice- I just ate it as it was :-). The service and friendliness of staff was also amazing. Great decor too. Highly recommend.

Visited last evening for a quick pint on the way home from a visit to the coast. In short, if you havn't tried this gem of a pub, then please do. The welcome and quality of service from the 2 young lads at the front of house and the manager was extra-ordinary. Even though we dropped by for a pint only, we were made to feel as welcome as if we had brought a coach party in. We had already eaten, but while we were there, we was noted that the food looked amaxing - some real fish and chips envy going on!! Think we'll (or at least I) will be going back again soon. If you want to visit a pub that treats its custumers with genuine value, I would suggest you popp by and visit. Could not recomend enough!!

Absolutely INCREDIBLE food. My partner and I spent ages arguing over where to go for dinner in Lyme Regis, we settled on here and are SO glad we did. We got the calamari and hummus to start - both were delicious. Nicest bread I’ve had in ages with the hummus. Then onto the main, Giles the chef. You are incredible. I’ve had fish and chips everywhere and that was easily the nicest I’ve ever had. My partner had the fish curry and I was actually jealous of his choice... it was sooooo good. So fresh and vibrant tasting. Presentation was stunning too. Archie and Sarah were serving and they are absolutely lovely. Nothing seemed like too much effort, even when my partner made an awkward food change request! Sarah was great fun to have serving and seemed to really care about our experience and the food. Only downside is that we live in London so this trip will probably be a one off, would be here all the time if I was local. The restaurant itself is maximalism at its finest - which is such a great, unique atmosphere. Honestly cannot recommend enough and I am a super fussy eater!

We called in here on the off chance that they’d have a table. It was a Friday late afternoon and we’d already been turned away from a few places. We had our dog with us too. The menu looked reasonable, and as we were considering, the landlord came over with the specials. We decided to go for tye Tomahawk steak to share. It was fantastic. I can honestly say that it was one of the best steaks ever had! Nothing was too much trouble, Rob and his team were fabulous. The pub is quirky and pleasant - lovely big fireplace, and areas sectioned …. We’ll definitely go back. It’s also at the Harbour end of the front, opposite the Cobb, and right next to the harbour car park, so not a huge trek back (we were staying right at the top of the hill……..) Well worth a visit.

From the moment we arrived in this warm quirky and interesting pub we were made to feel at our ease and welcomed. The whole layout is well thought out to give you space and privacy yet plenty of room, the owner also has an interior design business so there is a lot to look at and you can buy it too apart from the staff. The menu is great to look through with the sort of choice that makes going back a second night not a problem. The food was fantastic, I had the sea food risotto which was the best I have ever eaten and my wife had the confit duck and chorizo special which was delicious. The staff were fun, informative and made the whole experience on a cold Monday night a real buzz. We are only down for a few nights but will eat here again as excellent value and a great evening out.

This was I first night of a short break in Lyme Regis and we walked in on a very quiet Monday evening in early November and asked if we could eat and although a member of staff was sweeping the floor and being told they could go home when they had finished the landlady was very welcoming and said “of course”. I had ham, egg and chips and my daughter had scampi and chips and they were both delicious. The chunky triple cooked chips are lush, the ham was proper ham and the tartare sauce was homemade. Despite us being the only people in we where not made to feel unwanted or rushed to leave. I would highly recommend.

Pub situated on the Cobb. We had booked and went in and were greeted and seated. It was clear straight away that there was one lady in charge and if she hadn’t been there nothing would have been done! There was a man and a...

I had lunch here with my wife, although it's table service which I found wanting as there was a delay after ordering our drinks at the bar? But the food was first class. I felt sorry for one young waitress as she was literally running...

We have been to the Cobb several times and have previously enjoyed it. It used to be hard to get a table at lunchtimes. This time there were few people in there. My son's fish and chips cost £16.50 and was a childlike portion of...

Booked the night before, made very welcome on arrival. The selection of food was very good and we did not have long to wait for the meals to arrive which was good as we were very hungry. The meal was first rate and we all enjoyed the food and drinks. Would certainly recommend "The George" if you are visiting West Bay.

It's situated in the middle of Bridport with plenty of parking nearby . It is convenient to the harbour and antique centre . however, it is a pleasant place to sit in but not ideal for a business meeting. The menu is limited but OK for a quick snack

Very disappointed with some meals.Fish pie was good. Roast lamb was tough. Plaice was nice but very small. Vegetables were just boring boiled. Staff were friendly, speed of service was good. A nice log fire too. We will not return due to the food

Since my last review on Costa Coffee, Copper Street, Brewery Square, Dorchester the management has changed. The Store Manager there at the moment isn’t nothing like the last one. She has been late several times wen she is supposed to be there on time, turns up wen she feels like it, relies on other members of staff to do her job for her, cuts staff hours, gets members of staff to train trainees wen she should be doing it. If, she’s not committed to do her job properly, she shouldn’t be the Store Manager. Bring in someone who interacts with the customers, friendly, and invites the customers back. Very disappointed in Costa this time round, the Area Manager should consider the next Store Manager.
