I've been coming here since at least 2019 and have been twice this year (2023). St Agnes is a lovely place and the Coastguards' café is almost a perfect place to watch it from. The food is fine and they're competent to deal with dietary restrictions (I'm a vegetarian, my wife can't eat wheat). And the staff are simply not rude, or they have never been anything but polite to me. If I lived on St Agnes I'd be here all the time.

Extremely rude staff, with such a horrible attitude! They must have been annoyed that it was nearly the end of their shift but no excuse for such rude behaviour. Normally such a lovely cafe with amazing food. But the staff made the experience horrendous.

There’s nothing quite like a good cream tea. Fresh scones, a pot (not jar) or jam and a good helping of clotted cream. Coastguards got it just right and with the view too as an added bonus, a must for any visit!

This is a lovely cafe with a good choice of interesting dishes on the menu. Always a lovely welcome and everywhere is spotlessly clean. We visited with two children who had a ham and cheese toastie which came with an apple and crisps plus a large glass of juice, it was perfect for them. I had a roasted mushroom and gouda toastie which was absolutely packed with filling, it came with a small side salad and was very tasty. The coffee is always good here and everything is very good value. It’s lovely cafe with great food and beautiful views and a visit here is such a treat.

Visited today, 17/9/22, and enjoyed a delightful toasted sandwich with home made GF bread. For the non Coeliacs the Tea bread is packed with fruit. Combined with a pot of tea for two the whole order was a very reasonable price when you are dining in a stunning location and everything has to be transported to an island. Looking forward to returning on a future holiday.

A beautiful setting and we have visited many times over the years. But this year the cafe felt disorganised and we were told they weren’t taking orders as they had run out of bread (it was a busy lunchtime, so bad planning there!) After about 15 mins we did order (toasties). They were poorly made and rather underwhelming for the price. £50 for 4 toasties and 4 soft drinks was rather steep!

Very disappointed by our crab rolls and salad. You couldn't taste the crab because of the nasty, cheap margarine spread used on the rolls. Ugh! The side salad was dressed with what tasted like malt vinegar (no olive oil on St Agnes?) We visited the Coastguard Cafe and although the tea and cakes we ordered were nice the service was luke warm at best and frankly the place was a bit grubby. Standards seemed to have slipped since our visit last year. The tables were incredibly sticky and the tea pot and stainless steel milk and water pots were a bit grubby. These could both be rectified so easily and a friendly face when ordering would make all the difference.

I checked the reviews online before we visited the island and was pleased to see that the cafe had lots of gluten-free options. My husband planned to eat a crab sandwich. So we walked across the island only to be told they had sold out of crab. So be it. But then, no gluten-free bread available for my sandwich. So I asked for their advertised gluten-free scones. Nope. Advertised gluten-free cake? Nope. I asked for some of their locally made apple juice. Guess what... sold out. I ended up with cheese and tomatoes and a few lettuce leaves. Not at all the experience I was hoping for. My best advice is to ring and check before you head out in their direction. Fabulous view though!

We packed up our tents from the nearby campsite and went to get their breakfast bacon and egg rolls, available from 9 til 1030, before catching the 1015 boat to St Mary’s. Lots of stressed staff, seemingly scared of the chef, and all far too stressed to serve us! One of their team was even eating his own breakfast on a cafe table. They said something about not having supplies in, but it became clear that if we waited an hour and missed our boat then he would cook. Three children with no breakfast and basically unhelpful staff. This was a brief visit to St. Agnes and we were quite prepared to accept any refreshments, knowing that it was such a small island and perhaps did not need to compete with other cafes. However, we were totally amazed by the quality, creativity and careful preparation as well as sourcing of all the food on the menu. I have a gluten intolerance and couldn't believe I was offered homemade gluten-free bread which turned out to be the very best I've tasted as was the homemade humous served with a small very tasty, colourful salad (which didn't include the ubiquitous factory coleslaw so often offered as a "salad").The young staff were friendly, served us quickly and were extremely helpful (I overheard the next table - a party of four, some of whom also had differing allergies/food intolerances - being catered for with little or no trouble). ...and used to Wi-Fi to work. Cakes, soup and toasties are of excellent quality, Tristan's a very friendly bloke who let you come and use the Wi-Fi even when he's not open. View from the conservatory or garden is truly magnificent, right across to bishops rock, and not too shabby for his father's former model boat workshop...you don't have a lot of choice on this island which makes the quality of the coastguards cafe even more impressive. Superb job fellas...

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

Great place to stop off on our walk. Cakes, drinks and ice cream all good, and with the bonus of sparrows waiting to hop onto your hand.

Absolutely amazing day spent at The Sharksfin for our daughter's wedding last Saturday. Wow! What a venue! From start to finish everything was wonderful. Great service with happy staff who were enjoying looking after us and wanted to make the day special. The canapes were gorgeous and main meal truly excellent. The Chefs worked their socks off. Would highly recommend. Thank you to Lisa and her whole team. You were fantastic! We will be back for a roast very soon 🙂!

Poor service and virtually no vegan/vegetarian options. Asked for a veggie burger which was on the menu, they didn't have any. Asked what else was vegan, they didn't know. Service was very slow and all front of house seemed uninterested and more keen to huddle round the bar chatting. One waitress was particularly rude, I wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend. Lots of much friendlier places in Falmouth.
