Coastal Coffee in Redcar and Cleveland

It’s always been there, and now they have a great range of ice creams and the outside of the shop is invitingly clean.

My review is about the window service, I have never used the cafe as I tend to visit after closinging time, the window is open longer. First of all the window is always open, even on winter nights, staff are friendly and the service is quick, the do the lemon top, but also strawberry top now, I do not drink coffee but they do appear to sell a lot from the window

This review has been a difficult to think about from a number of indicators including ambience, taste, friendliness and general satisfaction. Firstly. I cannot fault the view from the cafe. It was a lovely view of the seafront and relatively quite peaceful. It wasn’t until we ordered our coffee and hot chocolate that we realised that the taste wasn’t exactly fantastic. Being a coffee geek I am quite interested to try new coffees and this coffee shop wasn’t really to my expectation. The coffee was cold and just tasted like coffee flavoured water. The worst thing is that I ordered a Latte. The staff were friendly however they were acting very rushed considering it really wasn’t that busy. Personally I wouldn’t visit here again due to the general disappointment in beverage standards however the view was lovely. Didn’t get chance to try the food

Went with my son for a cup of coffee and Cappuccino. Both were nice and hot. Unlike many cafes where the drinks are lukewarm. So will deffinately return. 10/10

Popped in for a take out tea, nice to have to use one of the usual chains! Great service, fantastic price.

Lovely little cafe, very friendly, always remember how you like your drink. Very busy place in summer as they also sell gorgeous Ice cream, we go quite often on our lunch break, Wi-Fi available, always have a bit of banter

Called in with grandchildren for quick lunch. Had mixture of paninis, jacket potato and ice cream and drinks. Food all ok and staff very friendly and helpful.

Our first visit here today. I saw the coffee shop on trip advisor. And thought we’d give it a go. It was really nice little coffee shop. The staff were really helpful.. the cake was really nice and tasty. We will be going back again soon with my guide dog.

In need of caffeine we called in here at the end of our day in Redcar. Maybe because it was late, but not many cakes on offer and nothing that really tempted our 3 youngsters except kitkats! I had Earl Grey tea and a toasted teacake -which took forever to arrive despite it being quiet, other half had tea. Service was friendly but the place was a bit shabby and unloved. Also only one toilet for all staff and customers. Prices were on the low side and the place seems popular with locals.

We visited here for lunch whilst in the area and had a lovely time. The toasted sandwiches arrived with a small salad and were very tasty. We also had coffees that were made well and were nice and hot. The staff were very friendly and the prices reasonable. We then treated ourselves to ice cream - the lemon topper was amazing!!! Well worth a visit

Lovely cakes and drinks and good prices,proper lovely cappuccino and lovely choice of cakes in a nice setting .pleasant staff and good service.will call again

We called in because my wife likes the baked potato with chilli. She had that and we had a flat white each. The chilli was up to the usual standard but the coffee was weak. The whole point of a flat white is it’s strength.

Went to Coastal Coffee for lunch while in Redcar (first time) with my girlfriend. Quite a large selection of food and cakes. We had a soup, a jacket potato, 2 cakes and tea: very generous portions. Staff is very friendly and the place is clean and well kept. Lots of local customer as well, which to me is always a good sign!

Visited the coffee shop as we do every time we come to redcar and are yet to be disappointed. The panini was delicious and the children loved their lemon top with sprinkles. Thank you again for lovely service.

I've been eating and having coffee in this coffee shop for few years and always been lovely. But today me and my son ordered gingerbread lattes I was thinking they came with cream but they didn't. So I asked the staff saying they normally come with cream I was given such a look and they said it never comes with cream. I visit all the cafes in Redcar Costa, relish, route 1 and over Xmas always have gingerbread lattes that come with cream so even tho coastal coffee staff looked at me as if I was stupid I assure u I'm not. Very disappointed so sickly too I'll stick to my favourite cafe relish next time.

Such a lovely, family run business! The staff are great - it’s been the same staff for a number of years and they always provide such polite and attentive customer service. The place itself has recently been redecorated so always looks incredibly clean. There’s a great variety of ice creams and coffee to choose from, and the coffee is ground fresh! Been here a few times now, the food is great and really well priced. Cheese scones are a thing they appear to do very well. I opted this time for a toasted tea cake, it was light and huge. Staff are always friendly, food always piping hot and freshly delivered to your table. Small café, but super clean.

There are quite a few ice cream parlours along the Esplanade but if you want a great lemon top ice...

Almorzamos de café, té y bocadillos y el nietos tenían helado. Muy buena comida y a un precio muy razonable. El helado se hizo en el lugar y fue una de las mejores los nietos hemos probado. Wi-fi gratis y una de las cafeterías más limpio que hemos estado en.

Agradable cafetería. como periódicos. Sin embargo, la comida y la bebida es tirado a usted antes de que sientas, baño, etc. y visitado se han acabado antes de pedir sal, sonrisa, etc. lento y ofrecen buen servicio.

Visitamos el uno detrás de las tiendas, pero no parece ser de aquí. Encantador dentro de amplias y limpias bien productos servicio habitual y estándar que viene con la costa. Como el nuevo mini bollos de hielo

This newly refurbished cafe is right on the seafront (if you can sit up at the window with a seaview)It serves a range of cakes and toasties etc as well as coffee and hot chocolate etc

Called n for quick coffee. Very busy 2days after Christmas. We both had flat whites but was disappointed with the strength . The point with flat whites is that they are supposed to be strong.

Visited here today (22nd September), about 1130am.ordered a hot chocolate with cream.;Was offered marshmallows but i dont like them.I did want a chilli baked potato,but they dont start until 12.Fair enough i suppose.My chocolate was nice,and i had a nice leather backed seat to sit on.There were about half a dozen people in there.The cafe does provide newspapers to read which is good if you have some time to spare.I did look at the menu and there didnt appear to be much on it.The place seemed to lack atmosphere

If you are visiting Redcar and not sure which café to use, this is definitely worth a try, coffees are great and the best price in town, there's toasties, jackets, cakes etc. all of a good quality. The place is spotless, including the toilet facilities. Staff are very hard working and personally I've always found them very friendly. My kids love coming here and hope they will for a long time to come. Nice to give a local family your business.

A lovely coffee Shop on the esplanade. As a regular customer I can say the coffee is Good and the large toasted teacakes with extra butter superb!!!!

Coffee and ice cream is good, snacks are ok but menu is limited and mostly unchanged in years, needs an inward look to be able to compete with other eateries. No atmosphere and mainly free of personality staff. Sorry guys.

Grabbed a couple of ice creams for the two grandkids. Although there was a big queue the staff dealt with them quickly but nicely. Good ice cream and preety cheap.

The food is honest cafe grub, the desserts are quite nice, the coffees were alright but the chairs and tables aren't very comfortable. Also the toilet was a bit awkward. It's nice but not much culture going on inside for a seafront cafe.

Coffee was good but the wait was long and it wasn't that busy , only two staff on . And I think one was just training not good enough for a busy Saturday morning

Well established local coffee shop. It has a pleasant atmosphere and is not crowded. More often than not you will see old folks lingering over a cup. The place has daily papers to read. Nice choice of sandwiches and cakes. Not too pricey.

This is a pleasant coffee shop that has been established for many years.Its' in a good position on the sea front. I have visited it many times and had a snack and and enjoyed a good cup of proper coffee not made in an instant

Been here the last two times I've visited Redcar. The staff are lovely and its very welcoming. There's a good range of cake, ice cream and drinks. This last time I ordered the carrot cake, which was very disappointing and tasted solely of cinnamon. It was also difficult to see any carrot in it and it was a very fine crumb not like any carrot cake I've ever had before. I wouldn't recommend that. Everything else was lovely as always. The toilets are basic, but clean.

Always a tasty ice cream in this place, use to go to Pacittos but the ques are always too long. Started going here instead and it's a lot cheaper and just as nice!

We've had coffee, toasties, jacket potatoes and various cakes in Coastal Coffee on several ocassions, all nicely cooked and served by pleasant, helpful, polite staff. The cafe is always clean, tidy, family friendly and well presented, the toilet is newly refurbished and is always clean. It's a little haven from the seaside breezes, and they also serve ice cream from a window onto the prom.

Coastal has been in Redcar for more than 20 years and is a great place to drop in for a snack or an ice cream My husband and I call in most Sunday's during our weekly walk along the seafrontThe staff are always friendly and welcoming and unlike some other regulars , we approve of the newly refurbished seating arrangements The menu includes paninis, toasted sandwiches, jacket potatoes, salads, soup, cakes and biscuits , ice cream and more - all reasonably pricedWe will continue to support this local venue

One of my favourites in Redcar; delicious flavoured coffees, fabulous cakes and ice cream! Comfortable seating and views over the promenade.

Every time I visit my mother we go to Redcar, have a quick walk along the front and then retreat to Coastal Coffee for a rest, a bit of warmth and one of their good coffee's. Usually we have one of the king size toasted tea cakes and occasionally a baked potato. Service is always good, and the baked potatoes always come with a generous amount of filling. An excellent seaside cafe. Always clean and tidy and you can sit and see the sea! (And the odd windmill or two).

The best coffee I have had in ages, kids loved the homemade ice cream and I was more than impressed with the great selection of cakes. Friendly helpful staff, I will definitely be visiting again soon.

The place is fine for ice creams, but to sit in for food isnt great unfortunately. Ordered a jacket potato and a pot of tea. Tea pot very dirty and stained. Jacket potato for the price was rather poor, cold beans and a very small side salad wasnt great at all. I hate to leave poo reviews but felt it has really gone down hill. The girls behind the counter were also too busy stood talking about their night out that they lacked in customer service.

Had a great lunchtime snack and ice creams Jacket potatoes, panini sand toasted sandwiches. All very tasty The coffee is excellent.

Excellent place to go if you want a snack.Excellent icecream. Excellent paninis, toasted sandwiches,jacket potates,scones and cakes. No smell of fat as they do not do chips !! Lovely ! Very friendly staff.

Lovely place for a great coffee, reasonably priced. The staff are super friendly! I love their paninis and my kids (and hubbie) love their awesome chocolate nut sundaes. I never go anywhere else in Redcar for a coffee break!

Me and my partner visited this coffee shop last week on our trip to Redcar. We ordered a hot chocolate and a cup of tea. You could go to a national equivalent like Costa Coffee for cheaper and receive larger portions! We chose to sit facing the sea front, it was a wonderful view. Another thing is no napkins where given to us with our order so any split drinks had to be left. Would walk past if visited again

close to town and promenade. Decent coffee in an area of poor coffee (nearest good cup is at Costa in tescos). Offer cakes, ice creams etc.

Great café on the sea front, near the Beacon. Decent price for good food. Like the cakes with ice cream. The whole family like visiting here. Always good friendly service. Strongly recommend
