Coast Coffee Bar and Bistro in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Absolutely delicious and not overpriced. Had fish and chips and whitebait one day and came back for scampi next day. Staff very polite and smiley. Definitely coming back when in the area.

We have just got back home from a visit to Cornwall last week - Coast is definitely a gem on the peninsula. We visited twice in our week stay and on our next trip to Cornwall we will definitely be back! The food was so yummy every time we visited, staff are friendly and kind - thank you!

It’s not often I rate anywhere as worthy of 5 stars but I can find no reason not to. Coast is so understated and almost low key to the point that we almost dismissed it as a lunch option. We’re glad we didn’t. The staff are so lovely, friendly polite and outstandingly efficient. The menu is varied and full of choice. The seafood salad was exceptional. So fresh and flavoursome. The smoked mackerel in particular was to die for. The fish and chips were similarly great. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive but certainly highly recommended. Thank you Coast.

Very friendly greeting on our arrival and customer service clearly very important as every member of staff were polite and just as friendly throughout our visit. Good, no, great quality coffee (thank goodness, no push button machine here!) which was hot and a very nice bean. Breakfast was fabulous, I opted for the mini breakfast which kept me going until past lunchtime. Clean, bright & airy and dog friendly too with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning next time we are visiting beautiful Cornwall.

Have just had a two week stay in the Lizard and have visited Coast for various meals , breakfast, main meals, and for coffee & cake etc. The staff are always amazing, so friendly, nothing is too much trouble and we felt that we mattered. The food itself is fantastic, well presented and perfectly cooked. The food is freshly made and the efficiency of the staff ensure the wait time is minimal. Our last visit was Saturday the 20th of July for breakfast before our journey home. It was absolutely packed but you would never know it. The atmosphere created by the team was so good it rubs off on the customers and everyone chats and it's just a lovely place to be. To all of you at team Coast..thank you, we have loved all our visits to you. We visit the Lizard at least twice yearly and have done for a long time, we have never had a bad experience. We are a family of fish and chips taters fish is one of our staples this fish and chip lunch which cost in excess of £15 was terrible but we were so hungry after our walk to the lizard point we ate it the batter was like an overcoat on the fish thick and stogy in need of a change of oil smelt very fishy . I wouldn't recommend this cafe if your a foodie and know your fish I also think it's an insult to charge of tartar sauce it's part of the meal , the staff seemed friendly enough and there were plenty diners so they must be doing something right only not fish in our opinion

We went to The Lizard as I had heard they do lovely crab sandwiches. We obviously picked the wrong place by going to Coast. The bread was dry, we could barely find the crab in the sandwich. which was filled up with salad leaves, and the coffee was luke warm. The service was very good however. They obviously are aiming at tourists who will not return. But as locals we felt very ripped off at the price they charged, and we will not be retuning either.

We ate here several times on our holiday last year and had lunch there today. The food is great and the service excellent. Can highly recommend.

Another great find! The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the full English was perfect. One great point is that they do different sizes of breakfast. I had the small which was more than enough for me. One bug bear I have when eating breakfast out is that the toast is generally barely toasted but not so here it was toasted perfectly. Coffee was good too.

Called in after a stormy walk down to Lizard Point. Were made to feel very welcome by all the lovely staff and then served a tremendous Roast Beef with all the trimmings x 2. A deal offered on dessert’s so had to have a salted caramel Sundae, perfection. In food coma now, if you find yourselves in Lizard do yourselves a favour and call in, outstanding.

We live near St Austell, Cornwall and decided to make a trip to Kynance Cove and The Lizard. We walked the coastal path and very enjoyable it was. When we got to the centre of The Lizard we were looking for a restaurant or Cafe for a spot of lunch. Many years ago we visited the Coast Cafe and we thought it would be good to sample the menu again. We were NOT disappointed at all. The service was prompt and the meal was well beyond our expectations. It was a definite five star rating. Well done.

I found our experience here very disappointing. The food did not taste very good at all, was overpriced and neither of us finished even half of it. We were very hungry otherwise we would not have eaten more than a bit or two. Not once did a server come over to ask how things were either. I have been a waitress in the past and checking in with customers during a meal about how everything is is just basic service. Definitely won't be going here again.

Husband and I stopped in for dinner . We decided on small plates each and to share . The prawns , scallops and chorizo were very good as was the halloumi made GF when asked . I was tempted by the homemade Chocolate fondant and was soooo glad I gave in . It was freshly cooked and was amazing !!! It was served with cream/ice cream and honeycomb and just ooozed chocolatey goodness. If it wasn’t such a drive I’d be there again .

Lovely friendly place to try some great food. Had the fabulous seafood chowder or if your into a slice of cake & a cuppa. This is the spot. Revisited today after to many months to make sure we didn't imagine this spot. Not going to leave it as long again. Small dog friendly bistro. Easily accessible. Seating inside & out loving the Autumnal decorations. Reasonably priced takes cash & card. Thank you so much for fuling a stunning coastal walk. Lizard point a short stroll away. Breath taking countryside.

Lovely cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Staff are efficient and very friendly. The cappuccino was good. Toasted teacake was good quality and my partner's cake was good too. The meals being served looked great! It is licensed too

Lovely relaxed indoor/outdoor dining. Fantastic food and an extensive menu to cater for all tastes. Very well executed and scrupulously delicious !! Fabulous find. Can’t recommend enough. Eat here a couple of years in a row and NEVER been disappointed X. Highly recommend

Perfect lunchtime treat! We had the excellent mackerel pate - lovely flavours of dill and capers with the meaty mackerel - and a seafood salad with a great mix of everything. Definitely recommend!

Moules frites were really gorgeous and perfect after a long walk. Friendly fast service, perfect for families with nice kid meal options. Everything fresh and local - a fabulous spot.

We had a really good meal here. Called in after a trip to the beach, no booking but the staff were very welcoming. Food was delicious, well presented but what was really nice was the smooth operation that they ran, from ordering to service of the food itself they had it mastered despite it being very busy. So refreshing to see good service with staff who actually seem to care about the service they provide in a tourist village that probably doesn’t see a lot of repeat business. Would definitely go again!

We walked from Cadgwith to the lizard in the damp and foggy weather, really fancied a cuppa. Stopped here and ended up having a spot of lunch, highly recommend the food here, I had the mackerel pate, my son had the burger. They were both absolutely delicious. We visited as a family of 4, + puppy, late evening on Sunday 16th July, for which we chose to dine Al fresco. The staff were superb, every one of them efficient, pleasant & friendly to our requirements. It was good to see such fantastic hospitality towards an abundance folk who simply drop in off the street every few minutes. The food was as to be expected too for the listings on the simplified, yet varied menu, catering for all. We enjoyed our food & drinks after a busy family day. We visited a couple of times on our latest visit to The Lizard, we had breakfast on one occasion and an evening meal on another, bother were delicious. I had whole lemon sole and it was delicious, staff were very friendly and helpful, we will definitely be back.
