Coalfield's Steakhouse Bistro & Bar in North Lanarkshire

Decided to try Coalfields for lunch on Saturday. It was fairly busy for a Saturday when we arrived and much quieter by the time we left. The staff were very friendly and the food was lovely particularly the rack of ribs. However the service was very slow. We were not in a rush so didn’t mind the wait for our food however we waited 20 mins before our drink order was taken and my husband has to go to the bar to order a second drink which then took another 15 mins to be brought to the table, by which time we had finished our food. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable but the service definitely lets them down. We would have stayed longer and ordered more food/drinks had the service been better.

Last night we visited this local steakhouse.The food we had was really good.I had a tempura prawns starter and my girlfriend had the lentil soup.Both of us really enjoyed our starters. Our mains were both the same , fillet steaks , chips , peppercorn sauce and a side order of onion rings.The food was great , no complaints.The problem was the service , we were seated for 20 minutes before getting a drink.I had to go up to the bar and ask for a second drink also.The staff were really friendly but , maybe just not enough of them.The gents toilet was really cold as well .The pricing of the food and drink was fair. I would visit the restaurant again , as the food and drink was really good.

What a fabulous bistro 9 of us paid a visit, meals where first class service is first class won't be our last visit We had steaks 1/2 rack was a meal itself I foolishly had a coalfields burger for mains could gsrfly walk when I left

We visited as a family of four - we had the tomahawk steak, pasta and my wee one had macaroni. All excellent! Service was great - team are friendly and professional! Really enjoyed our visit and we will be back!

Four of us arrived at the Steakhouse on a quiet Monday evening around 6.30pm. We were greeted by the host who made us comfortable. The Steakhouse is very nicely decorated with a modern feel. The bar looks well stocked with a very good selection of drinks. The menu presented a good selection of starters, mains, deserts and side dishes. We had the Full rack of ribs, chicken wings, sharing platter and the tempura prawns shared among us. Trust me when i say the photos you see on this page are accurate. Everything was delicious, the ribs were falling of the bone tender, the wings were beautifully seasoned and the tempura batter on the prawns perfect. We were off to a flying start. The main dishes were the Coalfield's burger, The Duck, Ribeye and Sirloin Steak. The dishes were all immaculate. The Ribeye and Sirloin came out beautiful, exactly as was ordered, they both also came with proper home made chunky chips already seasoned perfectly. The duck dish came out also cooked to order and sliced and presented beautifully also. You could tell that duck had been prepared with love and rested before slicing too. The Coalfield's name sake burger is not for the faint of heart, but for the big of appetite. The burger comprised of two hand made properly flame grilled beefy patties with cheese, bacon, chilli jam, hash brown and pepperoni is a burger lovers mecca. With the silent smiles of full contentment all round this place delivered and left us very satisfied (and unable to move). This is will be a definite visit every time we are in the area. With ribs as good as that i didn't want to leave.

The place is absolutely gorgeous and the staff were super nice . The food was lovely. Me and my son had the loaded fries and they were delicious. My partner had the steak and loved the real chips . The toilets were immaculate but were absolutely freezing.

We booked a table for hogmanay and with this being our second time here we were looking forward to it. Staff were amazing and service was spot on. We took my mum for the first time and she is very fussy and we are happy to say she throughly enjoyed every bit. Food is amazing and price wise is absolutely value for money. We will support this local business.

Excellent family lunch/dinner There was 6 of us and everyone of us loved our food and drink !! The rack of ribs are to die for taste so good !!! Staff can’t do enough for you either definitely will be back !!

Ordered from the lunch menu, my son and I had chicken tenders they were decent. Husband had the soup said it was nice but not hot. I had pasta alfredo it was not great at all left over half, it was absolutely tasteless, my husband had the beefburger, i could actually smell it sitting next to him it was full of basil and laden with pepper it actually burnt his tongue and again he left half of his. My son ordered a steak which he said was nice, moral of the story maybe don't go unless you're eating a steak 🤔 we did tell the waitress about the burger and my husband was offered a drink on the house. Waiting staff are nice enough but overall a very disappointing experience food wise and definitely wouldn't go back.

Every part of this meal was an excellent experience, food, service and value for money. Starters, mains, desserts ,canapes and petit fours. Cannot thank Sam and staff enough.

My husband my parents and I visited Coalfields yesterday and we we're blown away by this place. Decor beautiful, I felt transported to a gorgeous Colorado log cabin. Food tasted and presented beautifully, it was clear the chefs background was fine dining. We had the lovely opportunity to meet the chef and offer our gratitude for a lovely evening. We've found a local gem and will return.

2nd time to visit here and boy they didn't disappoint ! Booked for hubbies 50th celebrations and they decorated the table beautifully, food was delish 😋 and they even presented birthday boy with a card and a bottle of beer , thank you for such wonderful personalised service we will be sure to return soon

We had seen some great reviews about Coalfield’s and decided to try it for ourselves. The welcome we received and the staff were lovely. We chose the Tempura Prawns and the Red Pepper Hummus for starter - both we gorgeous. We opted for the Tomahawk Steak between two for main - OUTSTANDING! Cooked to perfection and I have to say the chips were to die for! This is a great restaurant in an area that is generally starved of good food places. Highly recommend and remember if we don’t support great places like this they cannot survive! We will be back, and next time we will bring friends to enjoy too. 😊
