Memorable for all the wrong reasons. We ate here during the week before Christmas and based on the online reviews we were looking forward to a treat. The only positive was that the two people who were waiting on tables were friendly. I don't usually write reviews but this was so far away from what has been described that I would hate anyone to save up for a special occasion and have the experience that we did. First of all the room was crowded which is not ideal at the best of times but there had been no attempt to make space between the tables in the way that many restaurants have done as a response to the pandemic. They even fitted an extra table in while we were there and had to lock the front door to make room for it. We opted for the a la carte menu and my husband and daughter ordered starters which arrived in good time. They described them as ok although the terrine was not as tasty as one we made at home. We waited for the main courses. My husband's plate of beef was absolutely huge but with very little vegetables to accompany it. It was nothing like the delicate presentation shown on the pictures in other reviews. My slow roasted pork was a large lump of meat with thick white fat which had not been rendered down by the cooking process at all. The flesh was cooked but very tough and tasteless. It was sitting on a bed of one carrot and one parsnip. The carrot was floppy and cold, the parsnip so raw that it was impossible to cut. Luckily we had ordered a side dish of extra parsnips that were properly cooked. We ordered puddings then we waited, and waited, and waited.. Eventually the lemon posset arrived (ok but lacking in lemon flavour) and then my sticky toffee pudding. I took one mouthful and couldn't believe what it was like. The texture was glutinous, almost like frog spawn (ok I have never eaten frog spawn but you get the idea) and yet it tasted burnt. I began to wonder whether it was just my taste buds (Covid?) but my daughter took a mouthful and confirmed how bad it was. The waitress removed it to the kitchen and came back to say they wouldn't charge for it. I genuinely have no idea how they managed to get it like that. This is not a cheap restaurant and clearly they have in the past served some good food but if you are intending to go I would advise checking what is going on and whether the chef is on form or you could be very disappointed.

We ate at the. Coach House Bistro on arriving for a 3 night break in Bridlington. Some reviews were a negative but most were generous in praising the standard of cooking presentation and ambiance of this intimate little restaurant. Don't miss out on this place it is a real treat. The 8 course tasting menu was excellent and we also had the matched wine flight 8 glasses and complementary champagne as an aparatif £90 was a bargain for this quality. I hope Bridlington can appreciate this gem and make it the success as it deserves to be.

What an amazing place!!!! We've been hearing lots of good things about Coach House Bistro for a number of months now but tonight has been the first chance my wife and I have had to visit. It's been fantastic! We opted for the 4 course tasting menu but there was an option for an 8 course and that's what we'll do next time. The pictures I've taken aren't great but honestly if you appreciate good food then you have to try this place. Shaun has worked in some of the most celebrated restaurants in the north of England including Michelin Starred venues and boy did it show tonight! I'm predicting this place will soon become one of the areas most desirable places for fine dining and could see them going on to really great things. Please give it a try!

We booked this as a treat for the last night of our holiday. Booked a few days in advance, an early table so we could get home to pack. When we arrived it was closed & no sign of life. No courtesy call to let us know they wouldn’t be open & avoid the 50 minute round trip. The bar area was full of boxes & it looked like they’d been shut all day. Some other people turned up who were also hoping to eat there & would be disappointed.

Noticed that the restaurant had recently opened for brunch & lunch and decided to give it a try. The menu is extensive and we were spoilt for choice. We started with toast and jam. Both the bread and jam were homemade, and were excellent. My wife then had Eggs Benedict, and I had the Smoked Beef Rosti. Again, both dishes were superb. The staff were friendly and the service very good. In the local area there are few, if any, eateries offering the style and quality of food available here. Definitely worth visiting.

Visited Bridlington recently and we wanted to experience fresh seafood, cooked with skill and flair. After scouring the Internet and coming up short we managed to stumble across what can only be described as a hidden gem. Tucked away beside a pub, this quaint little bistro just oozes charm and elegance. After calling and arranging a table for the four of us, we arrived and was seated by a very friendly, smiley young waitress who explained the various drinks on offer. Now to the good stuff, I ordered scallops and when they arrived the presentation and clear quality and skill shone through. Absolutely delicious. Scallops, passionfruit, crab, sea herbs, JUST WOW. By far the best starter I have eaten EVER, and I've dined in many a michelin resturaunt. Every course was stunning and the skill of the chefs is clear to see. If you are in and around bridlington get yourself here. Five stars across the board. Cannot wait to visit again!!!

Second time I've been and the food is great however sadly I'll not be going again. Why? On each occasion the overpowering cooking smell from the kitchen, so much so that we both had stinging eyes. After leaving we realised our clothes were impregnated with an unpleasant cooking smell so much so that when we arrived home we had to shower and change. Certainly not what you'd expect having spent £90+ on food and wine.I've dined here twice, previously in December 2019 when rather than make my complaint via trip advisor I contacted the restaurant directly. I was rather hopeful that they may have acquired an extraction system or adequate ventilation...sadly not. Be warned you'll enjoy great food but may end up stinking!Such a shame!

Before you go you need to understand that this is not a prepackaged reheat restaurant, so there will be a wait as the food is cooked to order. We have just had the Christmas day Menu. The quality of the food is by far the best in Bridlington and I would rank it as one of the best I have ever had anywhere in the UK, every bite was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. I am certain this chef has a love of good food and is destined for a star or 2, you need to book a table and sample his food before he is tempted away. The waitress was wonderful, friendy and attentive without being intrusive. It is a small dining room with lots of features from it's original use, this just adds to the charm. The Coach House is not connected to the funny onion in any way.

The festive menu is great, imaginative and fresh, the pate starter was just superb followed by the Turkey which was fresh and moist and I must say you can tell a good chef because he even crossed the bases of the sprouts! the vegetables were lovely and hot. All in all, this is what Bridlington needs instead of the typical microwaved food! They have a very nice wine list which you can tell has been chosen to suit the food served. My wife and I arrived in Bridlington for a long weekend. We decided to try a few different restaurants. I had seen the reports on the Coach House, so we decided to start there. I booked a table for Friday evening and duly arrived. The smile of the lady who greeted us was worth diamonds. We were treated like royalty all evening. The chef personally enquired if we were happy and that doesn't seem to happen often. The Bistro was obviously run by people who take pride in their skills and it shows in the quality of the food. The menu was varied and the meals were cooked to order. The atmosphere was pleasant and the aromas of the wood fired kitchen and cooking food blended well with the homely atmosphere. Bridlington is a quiet seaside town with these brilliant gems thrown in quite unexpectedly! The Coach House (same owners as the building next door, The Funny Onion but different business) is such a gem.

Cannot praise this place highly enough, food was absolutely delicious and cooked from fresh in a wood fired oven ( not a microwave in sight ) ... there's a lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk in and the staff were friendly and attentive without intruding . Would highly recommend a visit if you're looking for a special place to enjoy fantastic food ..

We stopped in on a Tuesday late afternoon. There was only one table occupied so it was nice and quiet. We both had double scoop cones. There were loads of ice cream flavours to choose from. Yummy.

First visit to this lovely little restaurant to celebrate 🍾 both Mother’s Day and my wife's 60th birthday and we were not disappointed! The setting in the window table with background music and plenty of space was perfect. We ate off the a la carte menu and we both had three courses complimented by a bottle of fizz. Each course was food heaven and the service was exceptional so we will be returning for the Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday in April. Thank you

We booked into the lodges next to the Gardeners Inn and decided to walk around for dinner & drinks. The venue is decorated for Halloween which I did enjoy and we had a lovely welcome from the waitress. A few item were sold out but the menu was plentiful and the food did not disappoint. I had the sizzling hunters chicken and my partner had Korean Chicken. Portion size was fantastic the side salad & slaw was fresh, definitely the best hunters chicken I’ve had. Banoffee Pie & cream for dessert again it was better than any other I’ve tried. Lovely atmosphere, service time felt right for the number of tables eating and the price was reasonable. Would recommend 100%
