Booked the table 2 months prior.We arrived one hour early and sat and had a drink whilst we apreciated the beautiful decor which i had been looking forward to seeing. We sat down for our 9:15pm table on time.We was asked if we would like water and order a bottle of still which never arrived 9:35 pm and we still havent been asked what food we wanted nor had anyone take any notice.Still no water arrived and our menus were closed still. I waived a waiter over and askd to oay for the drinks and he asked why.I told him we have waitd over 20mins to order and he replied ''i wanted you to finish your drinks first'' I asked for the bill and he went off somwhere...another waiter came over with some butter for bread that we never had. We left upset and the front desk said good bye have a lovley evening not noticing that she had only showed us our table25mins ago. Disaster and so disapointing

Wonderful restaurant located in Convent Garden. Warm welcome, friendly service, magnificent wine list and very good cuisine full of flavors. On the other hand, we did not appreciate several things: during our aperitif we were brought a small piece of butter with bread (in France, this is done very often) and without asking for more, we were again brought back some butter...nice at the time, except that this joke cost 6 pounds, or 12 pounds for the 2😖...And since, in England, you pay tips on the total amount of the bill, we have therefore paid even more for this butter. So, Gentlemen, please warn your customers that nothing is offered... Furthermore, we found the service too fast, too speedy. We had not yet finished our glass of champagne when our hot starters were brought to us even though we had ordered wine specifically for the starter. Remember that the French like to hang out at the table...

Had wanted to eat here for a long time, finally found an excuse and made a reservation. Food was delicious and the service very attentive. However the setting left me disappointed. The ‘famed’ conservatory was actually very cold on a March evening, almost cold enough to wear a jacket, every now and again a giant blast of hot air would fill the space making it too warm, before becoming too cold again. Found the one way system and narrow corridor for the toilet odd too. Sadly I don’t think I’ll be back.

I recently had an excellent pre-theatre "dinner for one" at Clos Maggiore. Gilles was very welcoming, informative about the menu, and attentive during the meal. The rabbit and ham hock terrine was a delicious way to start the meal. I'm a big venison fan. Clos Maggiore's venison loin with chestnut puree stuffed poached pear was one of the best venison dishes I've ever had. I appreciated the limited but well chosen selection of half bottles on Clos Maggiore's extensive wine list. I look forward to going back.

What a place for a date night or special celebration, you really aren’t here for the food, you’re here for the evening experience. This is a 10/10 romantic spot (couple next to us proposed actually) and the service is incredible. Its small, quiet, elegant, and everyone working there has an eye for detail, the food is tasty but the portions are consistent with high end french dining so do expect to order a burger off Deliveroo later in the evening. Excellent wine selection and nice sorbet at the end. Whether it’s an anniversary, an intimate birthday dinner, a romantic dinner date or even a less romantic apology dinner date, this is your go to place in London!

Beautiful dining room on the ground floor, the service was impeccable. We had the lunch 3 course and bottle champagne all phenomenal. The staff were very attentive and glad we were there.

We ordered the pre-theater menu (£32.5 for two course) we got the scallops and salad for starter, and the fish and risotto for mains. The food was all incredible and special shout out to the scallops and fish, they were perfectly cooked and everything went so well together. Well worth the £6 upgrade to get the scallops. Thr menu included fizz but because we don't drink, they gave us a non alcoholic bellini. We pre ordered an anniversary dark chocolate cake (£12pp, so £24 in total) but unfortunately they didnt write the message even though i had included it in the order form. It was also quite dry. The carrots side dish was also so-so. Minor comment: it would be nice if the bread was warm. We were sat near the door, which had people going in and out often, though the ambience was good with classical music playing. It can be a tight space and to get in and out we would need to move the table. But once you're settled in, it's great. Cedric and his colleagues were very friendly and attentive. Service charge was 12.5% We would definitely be back for the food! And hopefully get a chance to sit in the conservatory. 😊

Went for weekday dinner, had the tasting menu for the table. Everything was delicious and well thought out, there is also vegetarian tasting menu options and they were very accommodating to my gluten/wheat allergy.

It was the celebration of my birthday. The decorations of the whole restaurant is good. However, they seat us at the entrance, and we asked one of the staff whether they have a table inside the restaurant, and he never came back to us. And they just seated us at the entrance. Quite upset about this, but generally the food is delicious.

We enjoyed a super lunch at Clos Maggiore on Saturday. We were seated in the upstairs room, which was beautiful. The set lunch is tremendous value, and the option for half-bottle carafes of sommelier-chosen red or white wine is a super option for those who can't make up their minds! The jazz background music could be a tad quieter, but I was seated beneath the speaker. The staff were attentive and helpful, and the food was lovely. I can't believe this was my first visit to CM after 30 years in London. We will return for sure.

Paid for something and did not receive after sending money

The food here is always lovely - and the set lunch is great value for money. The service is also generally very friendly and smooth. We do always seem to have issues getting a table in the back though no matter how many times we request. And I can’t help but feel very disappoitned. Particularly so on this visit which was a birthday. We were first offered a table upstairs by the rather terse hostess. When we pointed out we’d requested a table at the back and that upstairs was super quiet with no ambience we were offered a rather drafty table by the bar. It wasn’t ideal and the attitude of the hostess was noted by all members of the party as unhelpful at best and surly at worst. Even a smile and a word of welcome would have made all the difference. It’s such a shame as I love bringing people here but felt quite let down yesterday. It would be so much better if the greeting was as friendly as the rest of the service.

A most delightful evening, with great guidance and support from both Jules and Gilles - with a great cast behind the scenes undoubtedly - offering a perfect Venison, preceded by a very nice Rabbit terrine. Combined with an excellent red, Les Petites Roches, and finished with a European-wide Cheese selection made for a pleasant occasion to meet up with an old friend in a low-noise and luxurious establishment - so few of these little diamonds left in London. Many thanks for a lovely experience!

A poor experience for a Mother's Day Lunch. Booked at least a month in advance and requested their best but accessible table. They leave it until just the day before to inform me that it's one step into the restaurant but a "few steps" to the toilets on the first floor (understatement of the year). As this was impossible for my Mother, I had to delay our departure to allow her to toilet one more time at home to avoid the necessity whilst dining. I messaged the restaurant to courteously advise them of a slightly later arrival time. En-route, I called to reiterate we were were going to be about 20 mins late but the receptionist said she would have to ask the kitchen as they would be "closing at 2.30pm". I reminded her that I had a disabled Mother in a wheelchair and it was raining, hoping she would be more sympathetic and accommodating, to no avail. I got the impression she couldn't care less as there was a £40 per head charge secured by credit card if we didn't show up. Nevertheless, we arrived 25 minutes later - wet, stressed and full of foreboding. Our feelings were not misplaced. We approached the door and could see some staff at the reception desk chatting. I knocked to get their attention but they were too busy to be interrupted. A customer on his way to the toilet noticed our predicament and opened the door for us. The staff continued to chat even though they saw us struggling through the doorway. Finally, they acknowledged us, asked our name, took our umbrella and directed us to a waiting area through another set of doors. Bearing in mind it was now 30 minutes later than our booked time, they kept us waiting for another 10 minutes before taking us to our table. Call me cynical but it seemed the table we got was punishment for arriving late. It was in the soulless centre section, a far cry from the stunning main room or the cosiness of the bar area - in fact opposite the exit of the kitchen, so Mum was subject to a constant cold draft. We ordered our drinks and food, skipping a starter lest we got thrown out for overstaying. At least the food was good. I then asked for a stirrer as Mum's drink had settled. The waiter went off, walked back and forth several times serving other diners - and promptly forgot about my request. Ten minutes later, I asked a waitress for a stirrer too - she did exactly the same thing - walked off, continued serving other customers and also forgot about us. So I went to the bar myself but all they had was a long spoon, rather than one of the glass stirrers I was expecting such a fine dining venue to have. We ordered desserts and when the waitress delivered them, I pointed out the long spoon I had to get myself - she mumbled some excuse about being busy. We enjoyed the desserts but noted other diners just starting theirs at 4pm - so much for the kitchen closing at 2.30pm. Once Mum warmed up with my jacket, we asked for our bill. This was promptly brought by the waiter I had asked for a stirrer - so I showed him I had got one myself, to which he made an excuse about not knowing what I meant - yet didn't bother returning to tell me so. The waitress wasn't so busy though to take my payment (with 12.5% "service charge" added) and we got ready to leave. Knowing we would have two sets of doors to tackle, not one of the staff had the sense to assist us. It took another diner to open the first set of doors and I had to prompt the staff still chatting at reception to open the front door, bad manners or what for such a lauded-establishment? So to the owners I say...train your staff to read booking requests and to be more sympathetic and accommodating when expecting a disabled diner: install an accessible toilet downstairs; train your staff how to be more mindful and helpful of disabled diners - and, given your high prices, you can surely afford some glass stirrers (and train staff what they are) so diners don't have to fetch a spoon themselves from the bar. To everyone else I say, spend your money elsewhere where they really know what top service is and care about ALL their diners.

After reading the terrific reviews online, I made a dinner reservation to celebrate my wife's milestone birthday which I informed them about. On arrival we were taken to the dull upper seating area which was nowhere close to the ambiance we expected. It was only at the end that we noticed that the main GF dining area was much nicer. Given we made booking 12 days in advance we should have been better accommodated. Hence, we left disappointed and did not enjoy our evening.

Food is as beautiful as the restaurant, staff, atmosphere, service. Top romantic, fine dinning venue, probably the best no doubt.

Was lucky enough to celebrate my 60th at this extraordinary restaurant. The atmosphere was romantic and elegant, the service was attentive and welcoming, and the food was a work of art. We enjoyed a 2-course prix fix menu that offered food as pretty as it tasted.

As we have been to Clos Maggiore a few times we decided to go again this year to celebrate Mothers Day - what a wonderful meal and great service from Jazz. It is one of the best ambiences in London and the weekday and weekend set lunch are great value - just go you won't be disappointed!

The restaurant is very pretty and the food good. Our waitress was lovely. However, the food was too fast and we had finished two courses in 45 mins. My fish was cold. It was spoiled by waiters dragging chairs back and forth to other tables in front of and behind ours. Not the most romantic ambiance sadly, especially as this was our anniversary dinner.

Exquisite food, discrete attentive service, intimate relaxing ambience …and then there’s the effervescent Vincent, whats not to like !

Clos Maggiore is an outstanding restaurant a well deserving of its excellent reputation. My only regret is that I didn’t go here sooner. The food, service and atmosphere are all impeccable and the set lunch menu is great value. This was my first trip, but certainly won’t be my last.

We had booked up to eat at Clos Maggiore for their pre -Theatre menu, we were going to The Royal Ballet to see Swan Lake so wanted to make it a special occasion. Well it didn't let us down, from the welcome at the door things just got better, we had a great table in the rear section with the fire place, it was magical ! The service at the table couldn't have been better, and when the food arrived every dish was delicious. Full marks to all the team at Clos Maggiore we will certainly be back.

Our second visit to this restaurant and frankly rather disappointed This is an expensive restaurant and one expects a good all round experience. This was not the case. The entrance/ greeting was very poor. We arrived at exactly the booked time. Our table was not ready. This was the case for three other groups in front of us. We were all herded into a railway carriage sized room together to await our table being readied. No offer to take our coats at this stage nor a drink offered. We were then taken to a somewhat chilly upstairs room, where coats were taken somewhat unceremoniously and put into a cupboard. Service was slow and not up to scratch. One of the wines that I ordered ( from the excellent wine list) was not able to be located. Rather than bringing the wine list back to me, the sommelier brought a single bottle of his choice. I felt somewhat obliged to accept. In my opinion it was too young. Our white wine was not left in wine cooler that we were able to access.. This is fine if the waiters are sufficiently attentive. They were not. An empty glass is disagreeable. The food in the main was acceptable though the scallop first courses was exceedingly unprepossessing, being utterly submerged in foam. The main courses were satisfactory and the puddings unremarkable. My overall feeling is that the management is trying to push too many covers through and thereby not allowing the staff give the proper service and attention that patrons at this expensive establishment deserve. We took our best friends, of many years standing here as a treat and left feeling rather embarrassed and sad. A pity.

We loved every minute of our lunch at Clos Maggiore. We were pleased with the white linen table cloths, being seated at a window as I suffer from claustrophobia and need as much light as possible. I am somebody that dines out frequently and very observant of many things which others might take as a given. For instance my main course I ordered duck breast and so often I have to ask for a sharper knife as I am unable to cut the duck. The duck was cooked to perfection and I had the perfect knife to eat with. My husband had the roast cod and absolutely loved it. We both enjoyed our wonderful starters and deserts as well. The waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. The service was very efficient. We will definitely be coming back to the wonderful Close Maggiore.

We had our Anniversary set menu dinner here. The service was attentive/courteous, all the staff were pleasant, Francesco was superbly looking after all of us with elegance and grace. The food was divine and beautifully presented. The atmosphere and cosy surroundings make this place so special, along with impeccable service. A fantastic venue/restaurant to spend a special day with your partner or friends. A must booking for couples or friends.

The food and atmosphere were as always delicious. The maitre d Vincent was absolutely brilliant. We had been held up and he could not have been more helpful in making sure that everything was perfect, quickly and efficiently executed and with such friendly good humour. It is definitely one of London's finest restaurants.

A lovely restaurant that we have visited many times over the years. Last two visits have not quite lived up to previous standards. Perhaps resting on their laurels. Service s little casual and food not up to the standards required for the prices they are charging.

Price is quite expensive but the food is delicious, most importantly the service is SUPER. Tom is really helpful and friendly. We are here to celebrate our birthday, they treat us a very delicate dessert platter and a birthday cupcake, very sweet and touching.

It was exquisite - their theatre menu is such good value and it’s a beautiful space with great staff and waiters that make you feel wonderful! Highly recommend!!

We had to ask for the sommelier 4 times, and he arrived at our table with the main course. Our eating was therefore delayed while we waited for the wine to arrive. Sommelier's selection was pleasing, however, so no disappointment on that front.

Went here for the pre-theater menu! Cuisine was great and the service was well provided, only note was that the waiter took quite a long time taking our order once we sat down. Thanks!

Outstanding . Service was superb. A minor issue with a slight mix up with the bill was dealt with very well . The way it was dealt with made the experience even more satisfying. I love this place

A culinary Gem in the heart of theatre land. Ambiance, service and food is fine dining at its finest. Well done, many thanks for another wonderful lunch.
