I stopped my child running onto a busy road outside this cafe, and the staff responded by accusing me of being angry and threatening to call the police. They were aggressive and inappropriate, making a difficult situation much worse. I live locally, but I won't ever visit this establishment again.

I adore this little cafe. I have been here twice and the food has been excellent (first time was for breakfast, second was for tea and cake). The service spot on both times. They even made room to sit my giant wheelchair. I think what charmed me the most was being recognised on my second visit, even though it had been weeks apart. I am itching to come back and introduce this little gem to other people.

I have been there twice last winter, not impressed by the food nor the quality of the service. They forgot about us for a while even though it wasn't busy. They apologized about it then we ordered (after 15-20mins sitting). The young waiter put a dripping glass of orange juice on our table, then later on dropped food (not ours) on the floor. Didn't seem friendly, just neutral and busy. The smoothie I ordered phased very quickly (in layers). I left with a croissant to take away but it tasted like it had been made the day before, so quite terrible. At least the general atmosphere and decor is nice, the breads in front of the window being a nice touch imo. The cakes were nice as well.

Great wee cafe for breakfast, we ate here 2 days in a row. Recommend the Greek breakfast, fresh & delicious. Also the eggs Benedict with haggis

Popped in for lunch with a friend. Waitress very welcoming. Great menu. We had Brie, bacon and cranberry panini. Food was really tasty and great value. I would thoroughly recommend.

Had the pleasure of stumbling upon the Clock on Friday, extremely pleasant staff, relaxed atmosphere. Great food. The recommended choice was the full double breakfast. Excellent, very well cooked, Delish. Coffee also spot on. Great wee place. Now I know it exists I’ll be back.

My partner and I went here this morning after a recommendation that the food is great. We got served quickly however within two minutes we left this establishment in disgust. The waitress came over to take our order within minutes of us being seated. There was a table of 6 and two other single people, both had empty plates on the table so had obviously already eaten. I ordered two coffees, the Scottish breakfast and the french toast but everything changed when I made a very simple request. The french toast comes with scrambled egg which I never order when out simply because it always has water oozing out that soaks into everything else on the plate so I innocently asked the waitress if I could have the french toast with everything else but without the egg. The waitress suddenly changed and got very nervous and hesitant and said ‘no, you have to have the egg with it,’ but I said I really don’t want the egg and she was getting very agitated and even shaking when I repeated that I just want the egg left off the plate, she said ‘I will ask but SHE doesn’t like any changes looking towards the kitchen.’ A few seconds later, it’s very small and the kitchen is not closed off completely so we could hear the conversation. The waitress (obviously terrified) asked if I could have the french toast ‘without the egg,’ and the owner/ manager was very rudely telling her that ‘she will make NO changes for anyone,’ and she said the waitress mustn’t ask this as she has a table of 6 to cook for. The waitress came back ‘shaken and upset,’ and told us that we can’t have the french toast without the egg. I immediately said to my partner, let’s go, we are not eating here. I have never had such appalling customer service in my life, I wasn’t asking to change or add or swop items, I simply asked for an item to be left off the plate which would actually make life easier for the chef. Just totally unbelievable but what is more concerning is that the waitress is terrified of her boss or manager, appalling is all I can say. Avoid this awful place that are clearly abusive to their staff and can’t accommodate even a simple customer request. It makes me wonder how they deal with ‘allergy requests, do they just tell their customers to get out,’ I can’t even really say worst customer service as there is zero.

100% overpriced. Tight portion. Shame as it was tasty but a total rip off. Wouldn’t return, there are plenty of places nearby.

Been coming here all week whilst looking after my ageing mum. I love the friendly all-female staff, who work hard and fast to provide tasty nosh served with love. They are all good fun and up for a chat, and they create delicious hearty breakfasts as well as rich, smooth coffee. Thanks, team!

Was so disappointed in the quality of the food. Some bits burnt, other bits seemed under cooked and I know it's Scotland but does a tattie scone need to be deep fried! From sitting down it was over 35 mins until we got our food. The order came incomplete. If we had been so hungry by then we would have left it. Kitchen seemed busy with uber/just eat orders. A discount was given for our wait and the staff were friendly enough. Won't be back and wouldn't recommend.

We visited here twice for breakfast during a recent stay at the Malmaison hotel. The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. We will definitely return next time we’re in the area. We will also remember to ask for a roll and not a sandwich😂

The Clock’s breakfast filled a hole, but that’s all it really did. The breakfast arrived really quickly, so it was obvious the items hadn’t been freshly cooked. The square sausage was dry, the link sausage actually looked undercooked, the haggis was soggy and eggs unfortunately overcooked. Everything was lukewarm. The tattie scone and bacon were decent enough. Staff were lovely and attentive. I try to support local businesses but unfortunately I think I’ll try to find a full Scottish elsewhere next time.

My wife and I went for breakfast here this morning. Not only was it the worst breakfast that we’ve had in Scotland, it’s the worst breakfast that I’ve ever had anywhere. The coffee was cold; the food was cold and the premises were colder than cold. We were served by a nervous young man who was reasonably pleasant. The cost of our breakfast was absolutely outrageous. If I’m ever back in Leith, I won’t be having breakfast here. M.

we visited Clock 3 or 4 times, always for breakfast, both Scottish b/fast as well as Avocado or morning rolls with black pudding and hash brawns are very good, good coffee

Disappointed. I’ve eaten here 5/6 times previously and their Chicken Gyros are usually brimming with chicken and extremely tasty. Unfortunately my visit today resulted in a very underwhelming wrap with not very much chicken and tonnes of raw onion both underneath and on top of the meat. If felt like the wrap was being padded out tbh. Also usually they fill the tray with chips and it was half full. Really felt like there was some conscious portion control going on. When it costs £16.90 for two w/ chips, you don’t expect them to skimp like this.

I have stopped many times at the clock many times since is close to my place, always for a quick coffe or a sweet. Today I decided to try the Scottish breakfast and definitely it's the best one I ever had, with a beautiful presentation and everything perfectly cooked. The staff is also nice and polite and the location couldn't be better. A must visit café if you're walking around the shore

Este pequeño café es absolutamente fantástico. . . comida casera y comida griega en el menú que nos atrajo. . se sentó afuera en un hermoso día con vista al gran lugar del puerto. . giroscopios y burrito de desayuno, todo realmente excelente y cervezas a un precio excelente a 3 libras cada uno, podríamos habernos sentado aquí todo el día. . El servicio también fue excelente y el café delicioso no me puedo quejar. hermosa zona en Edimburgo Leith bien merece una visita

Entré para almorzar hace un momento y compré un pastel griego de pollo y queso. Y un croissant de almendras y dos latas de cola. El más seco de los pasteles secos que era como masticar un trozo de cartón. Me imagino que la masa se ha dejado reposar durante al menos unos días. Y una cosa de pollo griego que se había dejado en un horno caliente probablemente durante días. Seque completamente empapado y cocine en exceso / quemado hasta que quede crujiente. Absolutamente vil. ¡Y costó 11! ! !Evitar evitar evitar. Lo siento, pero demasiado caro y repugnante.

Alla ricerca di un english breakfast durante una passeggiata a Leith siamo incappati in questo locale. Abbiamo preso 2 cappuccini ed una large english breakfast da dividere, la quale comprendeva 2 uova, 3 bacon, 4 fette di pane tostato con burro, 2 scones, 2 link sausages, 2 lorne sausages, haggis e baked beans, quindi abbondantissima e anche molto buona, per 9.95£. Locale carino senza infamia e senza lode, personale cortese e prezzi onesti, unica nota negativa il freddo all’interno ed il fatto che i cappuccini ci sono stati portati molto prima del cibo, quindi le alternative erano bere la bevanda calda e mangiare senza bere nulla, o aspettare il cibo e bere la bevanda fredda. Ad ogni modo se siete di passaggio in questa zona è una buona opzione da prendere in considerazione.

Durante una passeggiata in zona Leith decidiamo di provare la scottish breakfast. Il menù di questo piccolo locale ne offre differenti versioni, noi abbiamo preso l' Haighlander Large, con due cappuccini regular (comunque più grandi di un cappuccino italiano) per un totale di circa 14 £. La colazione comprendere: 2 salsicce lorne (tipiche salsicce quadrate scozzesi), 2 salsicce link (una salsiccia classica di maiale/manzo e spezie, 4 mezze fette di pane tostato con burro, fagioli, 2 uova, 3 fette di bacon, haggis (piatto tipico scozzese a base di frattaglie di pecora) e 2 potato scone (focaccina di patate). Il locale non è un gran che e soprattutto, data la temperatura esterna, fa anche freddo. Di contro però la colazione era eccellente, economica e pure abbondante. Se in zona super consigliato!

Después de visitar Britannia, estábamos buscando un lugar para almorzar y vimos este pequeño café. Es una pequeña joya: comida encantadora, buen servicio y buena relación calidad-precio. Los desayunos se ven geniales, aunque teníamos giroscopios y una hamburguesa de pollo, todo muy recomendable. ¡Ojalá hubiéramos tenido tiempo de probar algunos de los especiales griegos!

Very decent coffee (Reacher would approve) and good selection of cakes as we as the usual cooked breakfasts. Then I saw the savoury pastries in the display. Apparently they're made in Greece and shipped in - delicious

When I talk about a wee gem I mean this is one of those places. Tasty food in a comfortable friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I love that the food is made to order so you know that you are receiving the best of quality food. This is my 4th visit here with my other half and will definitely be back. Preciosa cafetería en Leith, en el agua de Leith. Hermosa ubicacion. Nos sentamos adentro y disfrutamos de un buen café y un delicioso pastel de miel y nueces, muy recomendable. Une petite enseigne très bien située au bord de la rivière à Leith, propose diverses plats qui sont très biens pour un petit en cas le midi (on y croise d'ailleurs beaucoup d'étudiants).Un peu petit à l'intérieur, les prix sont normaux et la nourriture est bonne sans être exceptionnelle. Le personnel est cependant très sympathique et accueille agréablement bien ! L'enseigne ne vend pas d'alcool, mais il vous est possible de ramener votre bière d'ailleurs, j'ai vu des personnes le faire.

Mi compañero y yo almorzamos en Lock durante una visita a The Fringe. El café está en la zona de Shore de Leith, y está situado justo enfrente del agua.

Comimos aquí el domingo por la mañana, el desayuno escocés sin duda dio en el clavo. Llegó muy rápido después de ordenar. El lugar estaba bastante lleno, pero toda la comida salía rápidamente. Nuestro pedido fue tomado por una señora italiana muy amable. Visita y no te decepcionará.

Girando in zona avevo trovato solo ristoranti di pesce, e mi sembravano un po' cari, abbiano quindi optato per questo posto che ci è sembrato subito molto carino e accogliente. Abbiamo preso una classica chicken salad, molto gustosa e abbondante, purtroppo il posto non ha alcolici e quindi non abbiamo potuto bere una birra.

I found this cafe quite by accident but the all-day breakfast was just amazing. Hot, well-cooked, and hot milky tea to go with it. Fabulous food and fabulous service.

Comimos aquí para desayunar dos mañanas corriendo mientras nos deteníamos en Edimburgo (Leith), ya que estábamos en el hotel Malmaison justo al final de la carretera, y pensamos que 34 libras para dos desayunos era un poco caro, ya que hay muchos bares y cafés en el zona.

CLOCK CAFE is a really nice place close by the water where you can enjoy breakfast, cakes and Dinner for a really reasonable price! The staff is very friendly and helpful!

Great atmospheric little cafe. Great options and nice staff. Local also use it which is a good sign. They do takeaway as well. We did have to wait a while but the views out over the dock were interesting and it was lunchtime.

Con una ubicación ideal, justo al lado del Agua de Leith en la parte más bonita de la ciudad, es un lugar realmente acogedor, y el personal fue muy amable desde el momento en que entramos. El menú del desayuno es genial. Tuve un desayuno vegetariano y mi marido tomó un desayuno escocés, ¡su primer sabor de haggis en Escocia! Mi desayuno vegetariano vino con un gofre de patata con queso, que fue una sorprendente pero bienvenida adición a la habitual. Todo estaba muy bien cocinado y delicioso. Ambos dijimos que era uno de los mejores desayunos que habíamos tenido, acompañado de un café muy bueno (¡fuerte!). Todo a un precio muy razonable y en un ambiente acogedor. Tuve la tentación de probar los pasteles griegos que también venden, pero decidí guardarlos hasta la próxima vez. Y definitivamente volveremos!

In giro per Leith,all'ora di pranzo abbiamo trovato questo posto molto carino(il pesce lo mangiamo a Cesenatico). Provato colazione inglese e scozzese. I piatti quasi si assomigliano, cambia poco. Trovato tutto molto buono e abbondante, con bis di pane tostato. Per noi non sono colazioni, ma veri pranzi! Prezzo buono, gestore premuroso, locale consigliato. Non si servono alcoolici.

I had the Highlander Breakfast. This is their biggest offering and I was ready for it! I'm not sure how food can be fried quite so badly. Even the potato scones had a strange taste. The Lorne sausages were actually raw in the middle which for something sliced so thinly is quite an achievement! The bacon was tasteless unless you covered it in sauce. Even the toast was poor having apparently just been wafted over the toaster. The beans were great but I'm guessing they came out of a tin.

Fantastic breakfast , lots of selection. Just along from Malmaison Hotel. Worth a visit. I had the 3 egg omelette came with beans, toast and hash browns, freshly cooked. Scottish breakfast was also lovely , good coffee too . Recommend.

Estábamos deambulando por The Shore buscando algo para comer y pensamos que los menús del pub eran demasiado caros, por lo que fue genial encontrarme con The Clock. A simple but good value cafe - no pretensions but not a greasy spoon either. As part of my international sampling of eggs benedict (just kidding) this one was good with poached eggs nice and runny, nice bacon and a good sauce. Say no more!

In Leith for a party and stopped off at the Clock for some lunch prior to the evening bash. Nice menu with a reasonable variety. Very tasty food and friendly staff. Will highly recommend you try this cafe when you are in town looking for light bite menu, cooked breakfast or a large slice of cake and coffee.

Ha sido para el reloj por segunda vez, y la segunda visita fue incluso mejor que la primera. La primera vez que probé el desayuno escocés estándar y era absolutamente delicioso, pero no lo suficientemente para mí en términos de cantidad (aunque yo estaba muy hambriento, y si me apetece un snack ligero, entonces sin duda en forma la factura). En el camino me di cuenta de que la Highlander, un desayuno más y resolvió que me gustaría volver y probar. Sin duda, una buena decisión, ya que el Highlander es un desayuno delicioso, perfecto en términos de cantidad, calidad y precio. El personal es amable, y las bebidas son buenas también. Recomiendo una visita al reloj a cualquiera en Leith (o, de hecho, en más amplio de Edimburgo).

we were looking for a place for breakfast when we found the clock cafe,,managed to get the last two seats as it was getting fairly busy,,ordered bacon roll and coffee and was served pretty prompt ,tasty bacon and a nice cup of coffee,nice and polite service and well worth the price,,there are a lot of more expensive places offering breakfasts but this was real value.

The place is small so doesn't take much to make it packed however, we were found room by pushing two tables together. The Highland Breakfast looked huge so settled for the Scottish version instead which had a little piece of Haggis on that was delicious...

Love this place for breakfast when in Leith. Tried the full Scottish breakfast this time and it was superb. Will definitely be back.

We have visited this place several times for morning work meetings. It is normally relatively quiet if you are sitting in so is a great place to sit down and chat about things over a coffee.

We visited Edinburgh to sort out our passports, and this cafe is close to where we needed to be. We stopped for a coffee with some wonderful cake before our appointment, and then returned for lunch. Nice relaxed atmosphere, good honest food. Always worth a visit.

We had a late breakfast of sausage on a roll in here and it was great. Nice little place and the staff were happy at their work, singing along to the radio.

Popped in for a lunch-coffee with my fiancé, and we were not disappointed. The interior looks nice, the gentleman serving us was friendly, and it's in a nice location with free parking available nearby. We ordered a baked potato and coffees. The potato came with a delicious salad which had some really nice flavouring, and there were a few different kind of sauces prepared on the table for us to use. The place was quiet so we could understand each other (which is rare nowadays with the superloud music going on everywhere...). Overall it was a great experience, we will definitely come back!

Popped head in and asked if it was okay to bring in my dog. Owner look round and said yes and got us over into corner booth. Good well priced menu and great service. Had toastie and it was lovely, even came with salad and French fries.Try this place out if you are in the area and looking for food from breakfast through to a late lunch.

This is a great place for breakfast, in the heart of Leith. Excellent Eggs Benedict, also a really good vegetarian breakfast. The coffee is very good, the pricing is very reasonable, and the staff are great.

A place for a full-english treat ( which I couldn't finish), with fantastic staff and very reasonably priced.When we were there the weather was awful, so the chap in the cafe let us just sit there for a couple of hours drinking tea whilst the weather cleared and we had a lovely chat.Great place, will be back.....

Abbiamo fatto colazione in questo locale e devo dire che non è male. Il mio compagno e mio suocero (inglesi dell'essex) hanno preso la Scottish breakfast con l'haggis e mia suocera ha preso il salmon e scramble eggs, a detta loro tutto ottimo. Io mi sono accontentata di uno scone (rettangolare invece che cilindrico come li ho sempre visti) e una slice of cake davvero ottima. Personale molto simpatico e gentile!

Staying locally in Leith (room only) decided not to eat in the hotel, and tried the clock. Not only did it offer great value, but the quality and service was great. I would recommend the Scottish Breakfast to anyone (contains haggis). We were here for 5 days, and had our breakfasts here each time - no point changing if you've found a great place.

While staying nearby found this cafe for breakfast, sat in on our first day eggs benedict and full scottish, both were extremely tasty. There was a short wait which was apologised for and complimentary drinks given, great touch! Went back on Sunday for takeaway rolls for the road, again these were great!

Had lunch with my friend at clock cafe, food was good, need to try Cullen Skink soup so nice, my friend had the burger said it was awesome. Definitely come back again.

We were staying very close by - so went here for a very quick morning sandwich. Bacon and egg on white bread, done very quickly, top standard and good value.

Decor lovely but the food is awful. The fish and chips were not good at all. Fish was frozen, chips were soggy. My partner had a cheeseburger and said it was made of mystery meat and you'd probably get a nicer burger from a van. Overall, we could not eat our meals' and left feeling utterly disappointed.

Llegamos hasta aquí porque recorrimos el Water of Leith desde Dean Village. Aquí funaliza este bonito paseo y la verdad es q esta zona es muy tranquila. El camarero resultó ser cordobés y muy simpático. Yo quería Haggis vegetarianos y me convenció para probar los originales. Los hacen muy suaves y con mucho arroz. La verdad es que saben a morcilla tipo socarrat con especias. Deliciosos. Servidos con puré de patata. De postre tarta casera de chocolate. La mejor que probé en toda la ciudad.

Visited for a Saturday snack and coffee at the start of July. Not wanting a large meal, I ordered coffee and a slice of carrot cake while my partner opted for coffee and a cheese and ham panini. Coffee was very good, portions were huge and the panini was served with a side salad and chips - I just had to pinch some chips and adopted the Belgian habit of dipping them in mayonnaise - delicious!  The cafe is wheelchair accessible, but only just and assistance is required with the narrow door. 

Absolutely fabulous atmosphere, genuinely good food and will not break the bank. I live nearby and have been in a few times, always a great experience!

Quirky and a good value breakfast for two with coffees for less than £20. Chilled out and cosy would be my best description, good little menu, burger, pies and wraps.

El fish&chips era congelado,pero la patata estaba buena.Es un sitio barato y agradable para entrar si llueve,pero sin esperar mucho.

On the way to Britannia went in, charming, great food, all freshly cooked. American cousin most impressed. Good value too.

13 of us went for lunch last week and this small cafe did well to get the food to us quickly. We had Panini's, Jacket potatoes and the soup. All had a lovely lunch. The next day we went back and had coffee and ice creams and all were fab. Would recommend. Very reasonable price.

We visited this cafe on Friday with my family.And we took so delicious latte and cappuccino. I took smoked salmon sandwich, which was very tasty. My wife and son took pie. All of them were gorg. And the staff was very smiley . Highly recommended . We will visit again

Good place. Advising for visiting to have a drink and fresh pastry. Nice coffee, delicious pastry and truly welcoming people working there.

Went there for brunch. Utterly enjoyed my latte but not so impressed by my full Scottish. Weren't of best quality, and were not hot when served. My fiance had smoked salmon and toast, didn't like it enough to come back for it.
