Claytons Restaurant in Bath exceeded all my expectations and provided an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. Their recommendations were spot-on, and it was evident that they had a deep understanding of the culinary delights on offer. The ambiance of the restaurant was elegant yet cosy, creating a perfect setting for a memorable meal. The attention to detail in the décor added to the overall charm of the place. Now, onto the food – it was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was a masterpiece, both in terms of presentation and flavour. The chefs at Claytons clearly have a passion for their craft, as every plate was beautifully arranged and bursting with taste. The ingredients were fresh, and the combinations were innovative, making each bite a delightful experience. The drinks menu was equally impressive, with a wide selection of wines, cocktails, and other beverages. The staff's expertise in pairing drinks with our meals enhanced the overall dining experience. They were able to answer all our questions and provided insightful suggestions that perfectly complemented our food choices. One of the standout aspects of our visit was the exceptional service. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Their genuine warmth and professionalism made us feel truly valued as guests. In summary, Claytons Restaurant is one of the best dining establishments I have visited in Bath. The combination of exquisite food, impeccable presentation, and outstanding service makes it a must-visit. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience. Five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We had a reservation at 3pm on a Sunday, that I confirmed that morning. We walked in at 3:08 and they refused to seat us and said the kitchen was closed. I would understand if we were 15 minutes late, but to close the kitchen when you know you have a reservation coming is beyond unprofessional.

Well what can I say. This was the best meal I have eaten in a long. I am a single male so going out for dinner alone is hard but all the staff made me feel very welcome. I had the duck and it was cooked beautifully and was very tender! Misty who served me is a lovely lady and made me feel very welcome. I found this place online as I am currently visiting bath. I’ve already called a few people to tell them about my experience and that they should make the trip to eat here. Well done and thank you for a great meal.

We had lunch on a Wednesday at the end of October in this restaurant, without reservation. The welcome was very pleasant, the room nicely decorated with a cozy and modern atmosphere. The cuisine is careful and tasty, made with fresh and local products. We enjoyed ourselves from starter to dessert. Just one small point of improvement to consider: it was a little cool in the room and a little heating would have made for a more pleasant experience. It remains a very appreciated experience that we recommend,

Fabulous lunch today - had goats cheese and salon starters and then added scallops just because, followed by a gorgeous piece of sea bass. Everything tasted lovely - cooked to perfection - and decided not to have dessert as we were more than satisfied. Friendly service. Nice decor and nice to see a fair number of diners for midweek. Wow incredible meal including best, freshest, tastiest sea bass ever - and that includes Le Bernardin! Duck was also extremely good, as was the soup and the charred corn. Bread was off and the desserts while excellent were not quite as outstanding as the mains. Service was excellent and perfectly attentive. Wonderful vibe to the restaurant. Bordeaux by the glass had gone bad but the Sicilian wine was excellent. But the sea bass alone was worth it, just incredible.

A culinary discovery! The kitchen creates works of art in terms of aesthetics and taste and the wine list offers a large selection of fine wines. Even an English white wine is available by the glass. It tasted excellent! Subtle music embeds the babble of voices at the neighboring tables in a bearable carpet of sound. The service is very friendly and attentive. The prices are also in the upper segment for Bath. Nevertheless: The restaurant is highly recommended!

In addition to the photos below, I had a tasty Garden Gin Martini, consisting of gin, elderflower, and cucumber. We really loved it here - the food was actually great, perfectly cooked duck and lamb on the special. The food however is very expensive. The service was outstanding, we got such friendly waiters and it was my boyfriend and I’s anniversary and they even took the care to make a special plate for our dessert to celebrate it. We didn’t feel rushed at all throughout the meal and they were just as attentive as you’d like. We also were allowed to do BYOB and pay corkage which I think is a really nice touch so you can bring a special bottle of wine for an occasion, which we were immediately given an ice bucket for. All in all a really nice experience which we remember very fondly for marking our anniversary in a really special way! Thank you!

We had dinner at Clayton’s Kitchen recommended by our concierge. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile by Emy. She took us to our table and was our server. We ordered the crispy goat cheese, the risotto verde (green), olives and a bottle of rose wine. The food was outstanding. We will remember both dishes as they were very tasty and had the look of a Michelin star restaurant. We then ordered sorbet for desert and the passion fruit in particular was quite good. We almost ordered the affogato after seeing one at another table. But we had had enough food by then. We had not been in the UK for a few years and hadn’t thought of it as a quality food country. After the first week, and having visited several outstanding restaurants including Clayton’s Kitchen, we are changing our mind regarding food in the UK. Emy was very courteous, fast with service, and always had a smile on her face. Such an easy thing to do, and yet many servers don’t do that. It was a very pleasant experience. If we return to Bath, we’ll certainly go back to Clayton’s Kitchen. Highly recommend it.

My wife and had lunch here on Friday and were so favorably impressed that we decided to have dinner Sunday. The food is outstanding, the presentation is beautiful, and the staff is friendly, efficient and very accommodating. On Friday we had a late lunch and so we split the chicken salad. Not your mother’s chicken salad, but a delicious chicken breast presented on a bed of greens. On Sunday, I had a fried goat cheese and tomato appetizer. Unbelievable! Then I had a grilled fish and chips. Sea bass grilled and served over beets, green beans and charred corn. Wonderful. I will say that my wife’s lemon merengue desert was a little better than my delicious chocolate mousse, not much, but a little. I highly recommend Clayton’s Kitchen. World class cuisine.

Bath is blessed with a plethora of fine restaurants and Clayton's exceeded all our expectations with an unforgettable lunch. The ambiance was inviting and elegant, setting the stage for a delightful lunch menu that was very reasonably priced given the exceptional plates and dining experience. The menu boasted an impressive selection of dishes, each expertly crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The wine list was similarly populated with well-priced wines that delivered on quality and taste. We particularly appreciated being able to order a carafe rather than have to commit to the expense of a full bottle. Our meals were nothing short of exquisite, substantial plates of beautifully presented food bursting with flavour. Particular highlights were the succulent grilled market fish (sea bass) in a decadent but delicate lobster sauce, the luxurious creamy white onion soup with truffle oil, and the heavenly caramel chocolate mousse. The friendly service further enhanced our visit, with attentive yet unobtrusive assistance throughout the meal. Me and my partner visited Clayton's on a Saturday night. We hadn't booked anything and were struggling to find a place to eat !! A passer by mentioned Clayton's to us. So we ventured over not expecting them to have a space ! But they did ! Downstairs had a lovely atmostphere. Perfect for couples looking for a romantic place to eat. Staff were really friendly and inviting. The menue is rather pricey. We ordered the lamb rump from the specials menu which was £38 each. BUT it was AMAZING, and well worth the money !! Meat was incredibly tender, perfectly cooked, and even the carrots were delicious ! I would absolutely reccommend visiting this place. One slight annoyance was the addition of water added onto the bill - only £4.50 but we were not asked in advance and the waiter filled our glasses before we even had a chance to realise. Wine was also not the best and paid £11 each for a glass which I thought was quite a lot. Although this might be average for the area.

What a great place: a real feel good restaurant. The £35 3 course lunch menu is good value, with an excellent choice of terrific dishes. Probably the best Sea Bass I had all year. Desserts were fabulous and served in generous portions. Great service, lovely atmosphere. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Clayton’s Kitchen is the best restaurant in Bath. Every single time I go, I love the food! The menu is small, but everything is exceptional. My partner and I came for my birthday and we loved every single dish. The flavours were amazing, the service was excellent and the atmosphere is lovely. Staff are really friendly and although food is pricey it is absolutely worth every penny. My partner has already chosen to go there for his birthday in June.

Previously have loved this restaurant but wasn't so good this time... Venison (haunch) was not very tender. Lovely bread. Super service. Reasonably comfortable. Nice menu.

Lunch very enjoyable, we were a large party, everything cooked very well, all on time and accommodated all our requests. Most welcoming hosts. Excellent value. Carriage decorated for Christmas season. For groups and family meals would definitely recommend. Many thanks, well done.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a pint at The Bear & Swan in Chew Magna, and it was a fantastic experience. The pub has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a charming blend of traditional and modern decor. The selection of beers was impressive, and the pint I had was perfectly chilled and delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The cozy seating and the lovely ambiance made it a great place to relax and unwind. The Bear & Swan also offers a wonderful menu, and although I was there just for a drink, the food looked and smelled amazing. I can’t wait to come back and try some of their dishes. Overall, The Bear & Swan is a gem of a pub. Whether you’re looking for a place to enjoy a quiet pint or a lively evening with friends, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

We stayed the night. It was fine. Nice room, and the restaurant/pub was a good extra. Did not have to walk far to get to bed.
