This chippy is one of the best l have eaten in .Food so fresh and tasty .Staff very helpful l wanted to try the Irish Curry sauce not had before and the lady brought some for me to try in a small pot was really tasty. Had fish chips mushy pease bread butter and Irish sauce friend had same with gravy all was tasty will be my go to chippy from now on we sat in to eat .

Great fish & chips as always. We get the bus pass special which is brilliant value. Nicely busy on a frosty evening. Plenty of chatter and friendly service. Can't beat it

Amazing fish and chips with Irish curry sauce. Lived in Harwood for two years and not tried the chippy but seen a massive que tonight outside and thought I need to try this place. Ordered three fish and two chips to feed 3 adults and was plenty.

Visited on a Friday night at 18.45pm, just managed to get in before the dining room closed - small fish & chips with peas. Steak pudding & chips with gravy - both excellent. 2nd visit in a couple of months - friendly service, dining room spotless and most importantly nice & warm, food quality and value for money - all outstanding, our new favourite place.

We traveled a long way for this . We had fish and chip they were just warm I can not see why people think it so good . We tried once never again . We stick to that one in Padiham it’s brilliant. U live and learn . We were so disappointed.

Came here and had a family tea, I can honestly say that we weren't disappointed. The food was delicious and served quick by the friendly staff. The staff were attentive and made our visit memorable. Also we had a latte and chocolate milkshake which also went down well. The prices are very reasonable. If your in Great Harwood, I would definitely pay them a visit.

The food is of an excellent quality and reasonably priced. It is possible to sit in the diner, or take food away. The service is quick, but no frills. This place is cash only, it does not take cards.

Went for tea yesterday took my Grandson. the service is good and the food freshly prepared. The chips were delicious the best I have had for a long time. We ate in and the dining room is small very clean and compact. This chippy has a long history as being a good one.

This place has always been popular and its easy to notice that they make a special effort to maintain standards. We were not disappointed and plates were left clean!

After being let down by Royal pub was glad to stumble across a great chippy.Even tho apparently short staffed we were allowed to sit in near closing time .The fish n chips was spot on, perfect, really enjoyedit. One of the best chippies in Hyndburn by mile...definately go again when in Harwood

The portions have shrunk a bit and there not open Saturday teatime!!!or Tuesday dinner don’t know why but that gives the royal hotel more customers

Excellent fish and chips and service at a reasonable price. We made this a family visit and the cafe was busy but we didn't have to wait long. We'll be back!

Good good i bought fish chips and peas and curry sauce very tasty but thought it was a tad overpriced but was fresh and the restaurant is extremely clean worth a visit.

Came here with my bro in law for some food. It certainly lived up to its reputation. Excellent fish, tasty and very crispy batter. Delicious chips with lashings of salt and vinegar, topped with a side of peas. Serve with a smile. Excellent staff always attentive, very polite. Would highly recommend.

I first used this chippy 40 years ago when it was commonly referred to as “the best chippy in the world” With being in the area, I thought I would try it for lunch.

You can’t go wrong with the food, only by turning up when it’s closed!! Limited opening times can unfortunately catch you out.

Went to Clacky D's diner with the family, having seen a FB post of a massive fish and chips. Not disappointed at all: I had the "Sea Monster", a gigantic battered haddock fillet, with large portion of chips, mushy peas and curry sauce; for £7.95 great value. Pat had traditional steak pudding, chips and gravy, whilst Alex had the standard haddock, chips and gravy. Served promptly and piping hot, the food was lovely. Thank you, we'll be back!

Son colas de salida de la puerta de este lugar, que te dice algo. Tiene un precio razonable, impecablemente limpio, eficiente servicio y sobre todo su buena comida. Comprar pescado y patatas fritas y un chip t-tarta con salsa de curry y salsa. Sin duda lo recomiendo y volveremos.

Great fish and chips, my wife had chips and peas and my son sausage and chips with curry not a scrap left. The staff are attentive and give great service

He estado usando este chips durante 30 años y aquellos que saben que se sabe tenía una reputación fenomenal bajo los dueños anteriores para calidad consistente y precios bajos. Todavía uso el establecimiento aunque no tan a menudo, y mientras yo tuve un excelente pescado y patatas fritas desde aquí lo que me desespera es la incoherencia de la calidad. Me había pescado y patatas fritas en el café hace más de un año y que era excelente, pero la próxima vez que fuimos para un llevar me sirve con un recargado, negro en peces de lugares. El servidor vi mi expresión y a regañadientes accedió a intercambiar por un pescado que no mucho mejor al llegar a casa era incomible. Esto provocó que no ir de nuevo a por meses la mala calidad y la actitud. He sido de nuevo y ya que la calidad ha sido buena para bien. Creo que esta tienda tiene el potencial para ser excelente, pero necesita hierro estas inconsistencias.

Las tartas de queso y cebolla son para morirse, pero de prisa que se acaban rápido. El servicio es bueno y amable.

Bueno chips anticuado. Sin florituras, solo muy bien preparado el pescado y patatas fritas con un servicio amable. ¿Qué más puedes pedir?

Viajamos 8 millas de esta tienda de chips cada viernes pescado estupendo y chips no vayas a ningún otro sitio sí su puede ser esperar un poco pero merece la pena porque entonces sabes que todo está fresco.

We always love the clacky dinner. It always has some of the best fish and chips. The prices are good they do take away and sit in. Would totally recommended for anyone who loves to good fish and chips

Dan serves the best fish and chips in Harwood. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is great the prices are very reasonable and the food is served quickly with no fuss. Highly recommended

I got chips, peas and gravy today. The chips today were that few I counted them 23 in a portion of chips today. They tasted ok but not full at all

It's not just the quality of the fish and chips, great harwood l being a small town it's the quality of the friends that you meet there . Either in the cafe or in the shop.The fish is tasty and fresh. All round good grub.Last but not least your not paying silly priced.

Take out or eat in the cafe , this IS the best chippy for miles , fish cooked to order, traditional rag pudding, happy staff , never been disappointed , completely refurbished in the last few years , a great chippy / cafe.

Go here regularly, the food is always good, haven't eaten in the café, just get a takeaway. proper chippy with great service too.

Dined in the chippy on Friday teatime we both had fish chips and peas with tea bread and butter.Everything was perfect best chippy we have been in for a long time.

Again it was excellent, had fish & chips with carton of gravy & a dab...was absolutely lovely. Crisp batter, well done chips & a near perfect dab. I will as always be going again. Best chippy in Hyndburn for sure.

took the kids for a chippy tea. used to go on a regular basis years ago. the staff on a whole were friendly and happy, however a blonde middle aged lady was unbelievably rude. she did smile, moaned about everything and even told one customer to 'move' at one point. not a good impression.we ordered, the food arrived quickly. the blonde lady asked my daughter a question, before she had chance to reply was told to hurry up as she didnt have all day!the fish batter was really hard as were the chips. the steak pudding was like dog meat - all mushed up like chum.other diners in the restaurant also complained about the food and attitude of this staff member. the food wasnt cheap but wouldnt have minded paying it if the meal was good.wouldnt go back again. have to find somewhere else for chippy tea

This venue is clean, inexpensive, intimate and popular among locals. I arrived a little before 1pm to steady service on Friday 26/06/15. Seven other diners in the 27-seat dining room and a couple of visitors in the adjacent open-design takeaway, both numbers growing during my stay.Haddock and chips from top left of the menu, peas and teacake from lower right. I asked for a buttered teacake: what I found inside it wasn't butter. Service was less than three minutes. The mushy peas were for me too liquid and the portion rather small: it was easy to see that other diners were served larger portions. Mushy peas with mint and lemon juice are a rare delight, wished-for here. The chips were off the old block found everywhere. Skins-on twice-cooked chips are sold at a deserved premium in parts of Yorkshire. They remain on my wished-for list in Lancashire. To the haddock.There was a hole in the batter which in most cases is fatal, but not here. The flesh was dense and mostly bright white in a satisfying large portion. (The menu offers a larger 11-ounce portion.) No lemon wedge or tartar(e) sauce for the fish.
