Saw this restaurant on TikTok and knew as we walked in it was going to be amazing. The prices were good and so was the food! The portions are really good as well. Highly highly recommend. And the waiter was very kind and explained the dishes really well to us.

Very traditional Hong Kong street style food, do not expect high quality service but food are amazing.

We ordered hot and sour noodles and dry beef ho fun (common HK dish). The noodles was ok but ho fun portion was really small. We couldn't believe that the ho fun was soaked in the oil, my husband refused to return and complain about it, he tried to drained the oil away. I felt really sorry for him as he knew it wasn't good for his heart. When he finished eating, the plate of oil able to cook another 2 plates of ho fun...not kidding. We sat at the front table and I am very sure the boss would have seen it but Didn't Nothing!!

After playing for more than 20 days, I finally wanted to eat Chinese food. I saw the rating of 4.3 and took it in. I ordered fried beef river, beef brisket and radish rice noodles, dumplings, and curry fish eggs. The waiter was polite, and the curry fish eggs were delicious and chewy and big in a hot bowl. Shengzhu is very delicious😋

Very legitimate HK style food and drinks, they have a good portion per dish with great selection from the menu.

Some dishes are good while others are disappointing. Ordered seasonal vegetables dish and received lettuce only. Given an answer that this was the season vegetable 🥹

Finally got some delicious rice noodles🥹🫶🏻 I will definitely leave a quota for him next time I go to Kaixin! The price is affordable, and the soup is really Hong Kong-style! It's really good for people to give one or two stars for their frustration. I hope I won't be too sad. But a little reminder, the frozen lemon honey should be mixed with lemon and watercress honey, but I made a cup of pure honey water, which is a bit funny. I hope I can drink real vegetable honey next time🌞The same satay is served a minute ago You can add some extra satay to this soup. I’ll keep working hard next time🥴👼🏻 But 10 points of rice noodles can solve other problems🥰😹

The food is so good. It’s not the first time. But it seems that the waiter has been different several times. This time the waiter spoke Mandarin and still had body odor and some nausea.

To be honest, not my best choice. We thought it looks good because there were chinese people eating. It's clean and the waiter was polite and helpful but food was not great and for 2 of us we got one meal and rice ,then after 8 minutes got the other, at this time there was only us in. The noisy chinese had gone and had not eaten much of there meals.

Impatient staff. Spicy sour soup not as described, not sour at all. We ordered iced lemon tea with less sweet, but it came very sweet and lemon were tasteless. This’s not our first time visiting, but apparently the quality of products and service went down a lot.

I go to eat almost every day, always between 4 and 5 o'clock. After I finish eating, I start working. It's my Brunch. I always order a meal, but the waiter in the restaurant is very unhappy when I order a regular meal. It is said that I can eat evenly, but it really hurts my back and spine. If I talk about it once, it’s a joke, twice, it’s okay. If I talk about it every day, I feel bored and don’t bother me, so I don’t eat anymore. . I'll give you all the ten pounds I have, but I'm afraid I'll give them to the shop next door.

We have fish fillet cheese baked rice, pork chop cheese baked rice and milk tea HK style, they were all very nice. Rice baked well with lots of cheese, big portion.

I'm half Chinese (but don't speak or read it) and can usually get through a Chinese/Asian menu without issue. Everything I ordered here was odd or awful. Most of it was really greasy and tasteless.

Incredibly good! Decided to go against the tide and not order a soupy noodle. Did a variety of dumplings and stir fried noodles. Much better than most places in London! The only caveat - a group at the next table had to leave disappointed when they figured a vegan diet and traditional Chinese food don't really mix.

The food in general is very tasty, the menu has a wide variety of options. The service is fast and the staff is friendly. I strongly recommend the iced Lemon Tea Hong Kong style (so delicious)

Okay there was a lot of hype surrounding this place, so I gave it a try. Honestly it tried its best to replicate hk style fast food 🥘 , good effort but still work needs to be done, to get anywhere near the genuine stuff, + portions was very small

To be honest, the baked pork chop rice is really not worth recommending. It may be the signature dish, but it has too much juice and the rice is not fried! The rice noodles are not Hong Kong style! The braised beef brisket is a surprise. The beef brisket is juicy and the beef root is soft and smooth.

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited. Served one big bowl of noodle, I left the restaurant feeling happy.

The best tea restaurant in the history of the earth. The service is attentive. The noodles are chewy and smooth. The beef brisket and tendons are moderately fat and lubricated. The frozen lemon tea is refreshing and relieves the heat. I highly recommend the pineapple oil, which is soft, glutinous and sweet. If you come to Brighton, don’t try it. It seems Brother Qi didn't come.

Unfortunately I found the food flavourless. Limited in choice by wanting only the vegetarian options, but this should not have detracted from the flavours. The vegetable gyoza broth did taste a bit like it might have had a chicken base.

Today is called Zuo Pork Chop Rice. The sauce tastes strange, but there is no tomato flavor, and there is no thick pork chop. Overall, it is very different from the Hong Kong Baked Pork Chop Rice that I know. The mixed grilled fries were normal. All the grilled fries were light in size and had more than half the fat, which was disappointing.

Opened by real Hong Kong people, this tea restaurant is full of Hong Kong special food. It has emotion and taste. It is a rare restaurant in the UK. There are curry fish balls, pineapple oil, "Tan Zai" rice noodles, and regular meals. . .

Such a large set meal only costs ￡16.50! What a great value for money!

Delicious food, considerate service

I tried the baked pig and rice noodles a few days ago, and everything was good! Although many people have complained about the roasted pig, it doesn’t taste like Hong Kong’s. I would say it is indeed different, because the food is better than those in Hong Kong😁!

Sunny day trip to Brighton from London, I heard a lot of recommendations and it indeed lived up to my expectations. No hype no frill, just good stuff. Food - I had the 'All Day Breakfast' for a good value combo, the Pork Knuckle Lo-Mein w/ broth, and HK-style milk tea. Overall, proper Hong Kong cuisine, I recommend it. Service - fast, polite, and great customer service by the owner （'Kay Gor') and other staff. Two people managing all the tables. Atmosphere - It's not much, your classic 'Hole in the Wall' but good food and value. The owner also runs another restaurant in Hove for 'HK Style - Safe Habour Cusine', another classic HK cooking I'm willing to try next time when I visit. 加油

I ordered spicy rice noodles on Wednesday and it tasted very good! The only drawback is that there is too little topping and too many noodles! Compared with other noodle restaurants in Brighton, the price/performance ratio is a bit lower. Hope it can be improved in the future. The new waiter is very professional and nice. The environment is also very good 😁

The baked pork chop rice tastes good. However, I prefer Hong Kong's specialties, such as a large pork chop and fragrant mouth. My experience this time was that it was juicier and had more small pieces. Closer to British taste.

Milk tea is highly recommended to try. Ramen is also amazing!

Excellent service from Clarisse (I hope I spelled your name correctly) throughout my time at the restaurant. She was exceptionally attentive, polite, and friendly from the moment I entered until I left. When I inquired about recommendations for traditional Hong Kong cuisine enjoyed by locals, she promptly showed me some authentic dishes. The food was delicious, and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it.

Such a gem of a place. It felt very authentic and when we clearly struggled what to order, the staff was more than happy to help and make suggestions. We tried 3 of the soups which you can assemble yourself. They were really good. Good value for money too.

Authentic Cantonese food - fried pork gyozas, fresh egg noodles and beef meatballs - freshly prepared and superb all round! So reasonable! Highly recommend!

This restaurant is not far from Brighton station. They serve authentic Hong Kong food. However we ordered the rice noodle. Perhaps we had high expectation, the noodle soup base is not as good as we expected. We were kind of hoping it would taste like Tam Jai. Especially the sour and spicy noodle soup base I wouldn’t recommend. The sourness is just pure vinegar taste it doesn’t taste like those from pickled vegetables 酸菜, but anything else looks really good. From the table next to us, the baked pork chop rice looks really good. And there are many Hong Kong people were eating here, so I think other food should be very authentic. Their services is exactly like in Hong Kong, which reminded us of Hong Kong. The restaurant takes cards except American Express.

在Brighton的街頭漫遊時，碰上香港人經營的棋哥茶餐廳，立時進去吃個香港情懷。 焗芝士豬扒是餐廳的招牌菜，厚厚芝士蓋頂， 落在那港式甜番茄醬，厚切豬排多汁內軟，頗有港式的味道重現。可惜沒有炒飯底，美中不足。 如果想嘗試味道更濃烈的菜餚，可以推薦焗咖哩牛腩飯。牛腩經過慢煮，吸收了所有香濃的咖哩風味。與飯一起烘烤，上層略微酥脆，與下面的軟牛腩和飯形成對比。  每次在外國點上乾炒牛河，都像是在吃上一段老香港的故事。大大塊的牛肉片，軟滑的河粉，生抽與老抽的混合，附上那港式獨有的「鍋氣」，就是老港的味道。 最後喝一口純正的港式奶茶，不是滿分，但是滿足！😊

過左黎近一年，食過灰色既咕嚕肉同橙色既叉燒，基本上都係失望多。 不過棋哥係好食既，個乾炒牛河， 隻碟係無乜油， 牛柳又蕉香，係爭啲韭黃，有埋就正晒！ 牛河炒得好既餐廳，個師傅一定係有料之人。

米線要大大力讚賞！必食 ！ 係香港食碗米線就易呀 ，食碗好食既就難呀！ 過到黎呢頭，想食個米線十少辣都難。好彩有棋哥，個米線同湯底一齊煮，入晒味。加埋啲肉碎，不得了！

We had really nice ramen here. You can choose your soup base and then 3 to 5 toppings. We had 5 toppings each, and it was a generous portion! For 13 quid in Brighton its a fair price. The beef slices and pork dumplings were especially nice. Food also came quickly. I would definitely come here again.

Disappointed. We came here because we heard that this restaurant tastes good. They open at 12. We arrived at the door at 11.55. In fact, the restaurant was already ready, but a waiter rudely refused us to come in and said "no". I understand that we came a few minutes early, but instead of treating customers with such a bad attitude, you could gently remind us that it is not open yet or allow us to sit down and order food at 12.

The best spring rolls ever. Really fresh, crispy and vegan too! CK and his team made us all feel very welcome and at home. Will be back.

Great choices of Hong Kong Fast Food here and reasonable prices. Food are very nice but services are generally very average at best. I have received excellent services by the owner before, but when he is not there, services are always less friendly.

Nice to have Hong Kong style in the UK

After few months and we come back again and the taste is so bad. The tomato pork chop was too sweet and the pork was still a bit pink! Like undercooked We ordered curry beef brisket and it’s soo salty ! The only thing ok now is the milk tea So disappointed today It’s really nice to have some homesick cured here. We are from Hong Kong and I could easily say this restaurant are better than average standard in Hong Kong. If you are not from Hong Kong I would recommend you to try the grilled pork rice, it has juicy pork chop with fried rice, tomato source, cheese and a bit of pineapples! The milk tea was nice too. Hong Kong style milk tea is not easy to make and you should have a try. It’s rich and smooth.

Massive fan of pineapple bun, you’ll probably be disappointed. As a Hong Konger plus a massive fan of pineapple buns (with a slab of cold, thick butter), I traveled all the way to the south for the one from this restaurant. Though it was unfortunately a waste of time and effort. First time in my whole life I didn’t finish the bun. Presentation is lacking. The standard pineapple-looking crust on top of the bun is not crispy nor crusty and It is not thick at all. Its colour leaves a lot to be desired and it was not as buttery as the other options in the UK either. Overall the taste: It was quite bland. Not buttery, not sweet. I didn’t expect to be like that If I’m being honest. There is definitely room for improvement to achieve the authentic Hong Kong taste. It is 2/10 sadly. The upside is, the Iced Lemon tea is 10/10. Love the lemon and tea ratio and it is one of the best in the UK. Highly recommended. Would return for other choices on the menu at some point.

We visited on a Sunday at around 7pm for a family evening meal. Ordered a baked pork chop rice, beef brisket curry with rice and red bean ice. The baked pork chop rice (£12) was supposed to be a signature dish but it was so disappointed. Presentation was poor. Taste wise, the sauce was lack of tomato taste (as expected by the light colour) and it was certainly over sweet. One of the most important ingredients in this dish is it has to come with egg fried rice but this only came with plain rice. The beef brisket curry rice (£11) was also disappointed as the beef brisket was not cooked thoroughly to be tender and soft. The curry sauce was lacking flavouring other than a simple curry flavour and chilli. The sauce was also too thick. We by accident knock over the red bean ice (£6) and the drink was all over the table and floor. Multiple staff had seen it but had no intention to help at all. I had to go over to their counter to take a lot of napkins to wipe the table. And still no one seems to care. All those soaked napkins were only taken away when we finished our dishes. The floor was only mopped by request as we found this to be a hazard. The whole experience was a bizarre and miserable. In conclusion, as a HKer, I would not considered the food offering is authentic and with this price tag I would definitely expect a lot more. Improvement should be made not only to food but also another important factor - customer experience. The staff is lacking hazard awareness which is very concerning.

An authentic Hong Kong restaurant, rarely find in the UK. The food tastes incredible, we ordered ramen rice noodles and salt and pepper pork with rice. The pork was perfectly crispy outside and tender inside. It would be nice if there were slightly more veg included in the dishes (although it is also authentic but unhealthy HK style restaurants) 😉

Food is not good! No service! Not recommend!

The meal was good. But the service was terrible. We waited about 20 minutes and then we found that they forgot our orders. And after 10 minutes again we got our first dish. But the second dish was still not be served____ the waiter didn’t record that! So finally the second dish came to the table after more than 40 minutes from we took the order. I would say the food was delicious, but the service was really hard to say good.

Nice food with reasonable price, but long wait. The dumplings ordered with noodles were not fully cooked so they have to re-boil it.

The worst customer service and attitude you can receive in brighton. We had the soup noodles which have no flavour.

Petit resto sans prétention. Au début, je voulais mettre 3 ou 4 étoiles car il s'est écoulé beaucoup trop de temps entre le premier et le dernier plat servi. En gros, la personne du groupe qui a été servi en premier avait déjà terminé son assiette quand la dernière personne n'était toujours pas servi... Cependant, le dernier plat servi était si bon que je ne peux que conseiller ce restaurant. Cadre moyen, comme partout à Brighton, ici on parle de cuisine uniquement et ils maîtrisent les recettes. Ça valait le coup d'autant plus que les prix sont raisonnables 👍🏻

This was a good place to get Ramen and fulfilled my expectations for a small establishment. There is a good menu, good choice and authentic flavour choices. Price wise it was extremely reasonable and would say that you get a good quantity for the price and is a nice and easy place to drop in to for interesting food and great flavour combinations. I will certainly be visiting again!
