It’s good. Very good!!! I had the cooked breakfast. Best eggs I’ve ever had. But the toast was soooo tasty. I will be back!

Absolutely fantastic breakfast. Had the veggie special and joy of joys it didn't include a horrible veggie sausage! Mushrooms, avocado, halloumi, kale, tomatoes and poached eggs. Brilliant, delicious. Fantastic service, lovely people and good WiFi.

The breakfast was fantastic, they had 5 fry ups out to us in a pretty reasonable time especially since each order was different. The food was of a really high standard.

Cosy cafe type vibe close to the hospital. I ordered the big breakfast with black pudding . The table wasnt the worse but it was sticky from too many non soapy wipe overs. When arrived the breakfast as a whole looked good and substantial though the toast was not as requested by it was nice bread . One of my peeves is the sauce bottles , i an not a fan of sachets but refilled bottles get me nervous as many places just top up over old sauce that has been fermenting since who knows when. This was probably not the case at CJs but maybe a small dish on request is better solution . As for the breakfast I would mark it as average.. the slightwrinkle of the sausage suggested they were once frozen and the bacon was of catering pack quality . However an empty plate suggested i enjoyed it and so although meal was slightly above average the small issues and the cost ( not too high) for which i would have imagined better quality products lead me to an average rating.

Had a fantastic breakfast and the staff are brilliant. Can't fault anything I will definitely return next time I'm in the area.

My son and I were early for a children’s hospital appointment so decided to grab a coffee in CJs The breakfast menu looked very good so we ordered food too. The staff were friendly and the food was really good. The coffee was lovely too. Would recommend.

We both had Paninis. Very tasty and filling. Had choice of sitting outside or inside. We chose inside with its pleasant atmosphere.

As you walk in and take in the eclectic mix of pictures and lovely twinkling lights hanging from the ceiling you know you made the right choice coming to CJ's. I had an excellent flatwhite and a very tasty granary bap with sausage and egg...the pooch got very jealous and I did have to sneak her one or two morsels !! All in a nice place, just up from the hospital so probably a good place to avoid hospital food if you are visiting someone.

I always try and visit CJs when visiting the Bristol Children's Hospital. Always does great breakfast sandwiches in doorstop size bread and nice coffee to go with it. Highly recommend.

My first visit and very impressed with this small Café. It’s clean and you can eat inside or outside. Great selection of sandwiches, hot food, cakes and drinks. Had the carrot cake omg delicious and latte. Did see someone having french toast one with bacon and the other with ice cream (they said it was yummy) so might have to give that a go next time. Lovely staff, fantastic quick service and good food. Thank you and see you again. Note: if you’re visiting the Bristol children’s hospital, eye hospital or dental hospital it’s only a minute away.

CJs provided food for our meeting. Short notice, good healthy fresh salads and sandwiches, chilled/iced drinks on one of the hottest days in years. Highly recommend.

CJs are a lovely friendly bunch and their tasty, non-fussy fare has been a blessing through lockdown. Clean and tidy, attractive decor, reasonable prices - can't go wrong. I welcome alternative to the more expensive 'foodie' cafes in the area

Had the most delightful time in this coffee shop. Wonderful selection of cakes and we were served by a very friendly and pleasant young man. I would thoroughly recommend going here. Everything was very clean and certainly abiding the Covid19 recommendations.

¡Pequeño gran café! ! La esposa y yo tuvimos que ir por separado porque estábamos de visita en el hospital, ¡pero ambos disfrutamos muchísimo son los desayunos! ! ¡Y estuvo de acuerdo en lo amable que era el personal (tal vez el propietario)! ! ! Además, ¡el precio era increíblemente barato debido al trato del gobierno! ! Se lo recomendaría a cualquiera que esté de visita en el hospital y necesite un lugar para ir a tomar un café o comer algo. !

Este es el único café que he encontrado durante 'Covid' donde el barista (? Propietario) llevaba una visera.El barista fue extremadamente amable y educado. Todo está bien configurado para hacer frente al distanciamiento social y la seguridad necesarios.¡El capuchino fue excelente! (No tenía comida).Hay asientos afuera. .

Small but very welcoming place. Good selection of breakfasts including veggie and vegan. Had the veggie breakfast and it was excellent! Will definitely return when next visiting the hospital which is situated just opposite. Friendly staff too!

Popped in on lunch one day at work, really friendly staff who were really helpful and the food was exactly what I was looking for :)

Does the filling in this photo look appetising to you? Requested chicken and chorizo, chicken and salami turned up. Presumably they didn't think we would know the difference. Coffee was lukewarm, just to compound a very unsatisfactory lunch.

Visito aquí regularmente cuando voy al hospital de enfrente y no me puedo quejar del lugar. La comida está recién preparada y deliciosa. Buena selección única para elegir y hacen un gran café. Tiene una agradable sensación relajada y los propietarios son muy amables.

No había planeado venir aquí, pero me sentí tentado por sus letreros que anunciaban batidos de leche para el clima caluroso. Fue una pena que acabo de comer, ya que la selección de pasteles parecía muy tentadora, especialmente en Rocky Road y tendré que hacer un punto para regresar en algún momento.La señora que servía era muy amable y servicial, y opté por el batido de fresa. En general, fue bastante bueno, ciertamente no tenía el sabor dulce y artificial que a veces se puede obtener, pero tampoco tenía un sabor a fresa particularmente fresco, así que si usaba fruta real o un saborizante, 'No estoy seguro. También tenía un sabor ligeramente granulado, como si tal vez tuviera un poco de avena con él, pero todavía era muy agradable. Un poco de vergüenza que se sirvió en un vaso de plástico desechable y con una tapa de plástico. My favourite place for early morning coffee. Friendly, welcoming, close to the hospital and serves a mean veggie sausage baguette!

Second trip to this cafe. Both breakfast's have been really great. The brown bread is so tasty. Good selection of breakfast on offer. Always a nice pot of tea enough for three cups. The atmosphere is really relaxed, you don't feel rushed. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Acabo de entrar cuando estábamos caminando. Bastante pequeño pero muy limpio. Muy buen café se sirve aquí y algunos buenos pasteles también. Volveremos a revisar los almuerzos pronto. Ideal si está visitando a alguien en los hospitales opuestos, ya que el café supera cualquier cosa que pueda obtener, y lo hacen para llevar.

First time we had visited this cafe and what a find. Sausage sandwich was superb with really thick slices of bread packed with sausages. Full English breakfast also looked excellent. Great place for a breakfast and/or a coffee.Reasonably priced good quality food and extremely friendly staff. It’s located directly opposite Bristol Childrens Hospital so just outside the main shopping part of the city. Well worth a visit.

Un amigo y yo encontramos este lugar mientras buscábamos un café a pie. Entramos y comimos mientras estábamos en eso. No me puedo quejar del lugar. El personal era muy amable. El ambiente es relajado y acogedor. Y el sandwich de tocino era excepcional! Sin duda volveremos cuando en ese cuello del bosque.

Really excellent lunch break with very good food and drink, and a really chilled, relaxed atmosphere. Called in after a consultation at the BRI opposite, and it was the perfect calming environment after the medical. Would recommend this place with five stars!

Nuestra oficina hizo un pedido de 46 personas para el desayuno a través de CJ's y estuvieron felices de acomodarnos. La comida era realmente buena y cada pedido era perfecto, como siempre. Nuestra compañía ha hecho pedidos con CJ varias veces y buscaremos hacer otro pedido en un futuro no muy lejano. Gracias Chris y Jenny!

Stopped off here a couple of times on way to hospital appointments. Super Coffee, rich and well roasted . A wide selection of home made cakes to choose from too. Small little shop that offers an alternative to the hospital cafe and an escape from the bustle. Sat and read a book with my coffee, very welcoming staff didn't rush me, Tap water in bottle available free. The lunches passing looked pretty good too. Will be stopping off again next time passing.

What a lovely little coffee shop to stumble apon whilst having a walk around bristol so much to choose from and all home cooked and delicious. Really friendly owners and lovely staff. Breakfast incredible and all home cooked will be back

Popped in for lunch. Nice friendly staff and a good menu. Order at the bar and have it freshly cooked and delivered to your table. Soya milk and gluten free available. Right near the BRI too.

Popped in for breakfast at 9:30 one morning the food was fresh cooked to order and the staff very professionaland friendly I will be popping back again.. Definitely.. David J

He desayunado en este café algunas veces recientemente (así como algunos almuerzos para llevar) y la comida siempre es fresca, sabrosa y con una buena relación calidad-precio. Gran inglés completo. Los propietarios son muy amables y siempre dispuestos a ayudar. ¡El 10% de descuento del NHS también es ideal para un lugar de trabajo cercano!

A cosy spot for a meal or coffee, very well located too, in terms of the uni and hospital. They had gluten free options.

Just dropped into cj’s by chance because we have an early appointment. Ordered 3 bacon sandwiches which arrived very quickly as promised and I must say the bread was really tasty along with loads of very good quality bacon. Many Thanks

This little cafe has lovely friendly staff and served us a delicious breakfast, a warm pan au raisin and a proper sausage sandwich. Really recommend it.

Been a couple times in the cafe. I had the veggie special, What was fantastic. I had it with poached eggs. The coffee was really nice to!, all so the staff was pleasant.

Visited this cafe on a few occasions now, while waiting for a friend undergoing treatment in local hospital, always had a friendly welcome with wonderful freshly prepared food, which tastes wonderful and is reasonably priced, well worth a visit

Needing sustenance when out Christmas shopping around the quirkier parts of town when I found CJ's. Since I've become a mature student I find myself in a lot of big chain coffee shops, but the coffee of CJ's blows them out of the water. Top quality latte and panini, and, and, most importantly just before Xmas, gentle music in the background and not blasting out Xmas tunes at full volume. The atmosphere was laid back and friendly, very useful for visits to the BRI or Children's Hospital, or as I was, buying gin in Christmas Steps! Would highly recommend.

The shop is opposite the bri, so it was a handy place to meet a friend who was in-between appointments.

Good sized portions, well cooked (and cooked to order so not just reheating!), and good, pleasant service. First time back there for a couple of years and thoroughly recommend this place. Couple of improvements (the loo is no longer at the top of a flight of stairs but is at ground level now, for example) and the place has a really nice ambience.

Excelente servicio y la comida es deliciosa y fresca, CJs para albergar sus requisitos para trabajo local inclusive. Puedo recomendar el bocadillo de desayuno servido en Pan hobbs, un montón de abundante y cocinado a gusto individual. Chris es genial y hace mi café perfecto. Que visitar al menos una semana, como me gusta el apoyo de empresas locales y siempre de visita en un descanso para comer dos veces. Nunca tienes que esperar años - el servicio es fantástico! Y me ofrecen una tarjeta de regalo y descuento de atención sanitaria.

Ya que estábamos visitando la familia, nos encontramos en Bristol una noche de sábado. Nos metimos en CJ's para el desayuno y los cuatro de nosotros pedimos varios platos. Pedí un bollo de desayuno, salchichas y huevos, que se servía en pan fresco encantador de granja. Todos nos pedimos té, una taza cada uno se acercaba, permitiendo unas cuantas tazas, muy bueno.

My partner and I had a 2 day break last week in Bristol at the dog friendly Hotel du Vin. Unfortunately, we overslept the first morning and missed breakfast. We really liked the look of this cafe and we both wanted a full english. However, we were refused entry.......no dogs allowed. I have to say, at that point, there were only two single individuals in the place. It was mid morning, past the breakfast rush but before the dinner rush. I would have thought the most sensible approach would be to ask those two customers if they objected to dogs being in the cafe, rather than turn away business, point blankly refusing entry. I have to point out that there is no health and safety rule about dogs being in establishments where food is prepared (we have checked). It is down to the discretion of the management. The big city's are trying to promote a continental cafe society. Perhaps CJ's should take a leaf from our French cousins, where dogs are openly welcomed in cafes and restaurants. We took our 3, yes 3, very well behaved spaniels to the cafe at the bottom of the Christmas steps, and had a hearty breakfast while they laid quietly under the table. A customer actually came over and petted them. If CJ's had been busy, I totally understand, but with two customers in there, perhaps the owners ought to re-think their approach to the 'no dog' policy all the time. What's the saying........'cutting off your nose'!

Popped in on the hop for lunch. Had a very good chicken and chorizo salad. The young lad behind the counter really couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Lovely place - try it.

Wonderful service and fantastic pancakes very very tasty and definitely worth it . Will be going again .. a fantastic place to recharge after a hospital visit and not too far away from the hospital should you need to rush back in . We shall return

Friendly venue with the MOST delicious Italian ice cream ( mango coffee vanilla chocolate strawberry and lemon) I have ever tasted. I liked the look of the fab range of paninis at reasonable prices, the delicious looking paella and a tortilla as dishes of the day for only £5 too and an inventive range of side salads ( broad bean and mint or fennel and orange anyone?). Next time!

We both really enjoyed our brunch at CJ's. Everything was cooked well and it really hit the spot on a Saturday morning. Competitive, fair prices and a convenient, central location. I will definitely be returning next time I am in Bristol. P.S I recommend the mango ice cream: different and delicious.
