City Spice in Kingston upon Hull, City of

we had been to wetherspoons and this restaurant was the closest for us,we arrived to find no sanitisers on the door and staff not wearing face coverings, the only good thing was the garlic naan bread which was excellent, and my wife sort of enjoyed her meal ,but i did not ,my tandoori mixed grill seemed to be lacking any moisture in the meat and was dry along with the shish kebab,seemed to be old product,,then they sat another couple right next to us not considering social distancing when there were plenty of seats available, the waiter was not wearing face masks either,,wont be returning in a hurry.

A bit of a mixed bag.. Overall not great,, chips were warm and quite soggy, not crispy at all, onion bhajis were raw inside tasted like soggy flour and the naan breads all had this huge coating of we think it was parsley, not very pleasent at all, beef madras was mild no spice to it but my lamb patia was super super spicy,burnt my mouth and it was only supposed to be mild!! however the king prawn puree and biriyani was lovely meat in all the dishes was superb hence the mixed bag .. Shame really as we spent quite a lot of money and was overall very disappointed.

Best Indian food I have ever had, the restaurant was so nice and clean. The service was second to none. So friendly, nothing was too much trouble for the staff to make your meal enjoyable, the food was excellent everything was cooked to perfection, wish this restaurant was back in Manchester. Thank for a great meal experience.

Was talked in to this one by my husband... I'm not a great Indian food lover, but happy to try new experiences. So happy that I did! Enjoyed every minute and the food was to die for 👍 We have eaten at some top class, expensive restaurants but this really did top the bar! Extremely good service, made to feel relaxed and welcome, even under current Covid circumstances and after selecting from the menu to meet my mild, spice palate it was amazing. Thanks so much for an all round lovely evening, hope to see you soon!

Came down as a party of 6, managed to squeeze us in with no issues. Fantastic service, very friendly hosts and the food was lovely. So much for portions we actually packed it up for tomorrow! Cannot recommend enough, well worth the money 😋

We visited with our son, second time for my husband and I, first for our son! Food excellent, from the starters to the main, quality was outstanding! Best curry place we've been to for years! Service was excellent to with a very cheerful attendant! (Jammi) . Can't wait to visit again!

We were given a groupon voucher for a meal for two but asked if we could have it as a takeaway which they honoured. The service was excellent and very friendly and the food was delicious and plenty. Fabulous food great friendly service decor and ambiance lovely .A hidden gem best garlic nan bread I’ve had and pickle tray was excellent the mains were a good sized portions and the spices were spot on . Will be going for a return visit can highly recommend

Called into city spice with a friend on a Saturday evening, very welcoming and lovely new clean decor, ordered starters and main with drinks and all parts of our meal were served fresh and hot, friendly staff and will be back.
