Worst restaurant I’ve been to in hull. Food quality very poor - no flavour - chef does not take pride in what he cooks, even when I sent back the lamb curry - did not care or listen to our views, sent another curry that was exactly the same as first. Very small portions not worth the money. Go to Banarasi restaurant instead. Much better food.

I can honestly say that this restaurant's food is absolutely 100% top class.. the staff friendly and the service professional... and the relaxing ambiance pleasurable... do not miss a chance to enjoy what we have experienced.. Meet up with friends in hull once a year for a curry always went somewhere else then we tried this place it's easier for me as it's a good 5 mins walk from the station . Second time we've been here was impressed the first time 2nd time was just as good . Very clean friendly staff and owner and the food is excellent 5 stars from me sadly it's not local to me or I would go more often but see you next year for my annual meet up

Ordered a takeaway from here and tried their food for the 1st time Chicken tikka bhuna Vegetable masala Chips Rice Garlic naan Free popadoms and dips EVERYTHING was 👌perfect! Absolutely delicious and couldn't be happier. The man who dropped our food off was so polite and friendly. Will definitely be ordering again and letting others know if the place too.

Gold 5 gold star not silver as the food had amazing passionate taste. The staff also added comfort and humour. Family including kids got seated at a table with enough space to feel at home. Service of food was faster than other restaurants I have encountered experience ⭐️ Amazing happy night time meal everyone left happy and full. This was my first time here after been recommended by a friend, on walking in we were greeted by staff who showed us to our table, We were offered drinks straight away. And given menu’s the wait helpfully showed us good options to pick. The food was delicious and the waiter explained the best way to eat it giving the best flavours we had desserts mango and raspberry absolutely delicious would definitely be back food was great and the staff were great good job 10/10

curries were watery, could do with sauce been abit thicker and more meat. But tasted very nice. Nanns were nice, Gave complementary poppadoms and dips

Got taway sat 21st,in curry dishes meat was really small pieces and hardly any of it really not what you would expect. Thought the prices was good until food arrived but certainly not value for money . Won't be ordering again I'm afraid.

While visiting the Hull upon Kingston, we happened to see this restaurant on Google Maps. On visiting this surprised to find out this restaurant has nothing to do with Madras (Erstwhile Name of Chennai, the capital of the state i belonged to). And they belong to Bangladesh. Myself, Kid and wife all were famished. Couldn't get a table since we walked in. After sometimes the manager was kind enough to arrange a table, provided we finish fast. Ordered Chicken biriyani, surprisingly it was excellent given that it was manned by Bangladeshis. It was on a Saturday Evening. The crowd was thronging. Do try this if you want something close to India.

Just had a chicken tikka masala takeaway, it was swimming in water, tastless and discusting. If you like bland watered down food this is the place to go, see picture half a bowl of water drained of the plate.

this is the best indian take away i have have had staff are so nice our take away is always ready well done the madras we have had many take away and restaurant but this one tops the lot well worth a visit

Venue is good but the Food is not authentic please get a chef from pakistan or India who can actually make proper recipes as per your menue card the restaurant is going to be very popular then only Pleased it is halal

Amazing restaurant with very friendly staff and very nice food! Had a really nice chat with one of the employees who was very passionate about his job and the food and he wasn't wrong. We both enjoyed our food, it was so tasty, nicely spiced and nice sized portions. We will definitely come back next time we are working in the area 💯

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Chatted about sticking a shatkora in the naga dish, and BIR/Bangladeshi cuisines. Price was good, everything clean, enjoyed my visit. Next time I pass through Hull I'll return =)

We received delicious food within a short period of time. The service was also very accommodating. It would have been great if there had been chai or lassi to drink. Otherwise great!

Having seen the excellent reviews we thought we would give the Madras a try rather than our local restaurant in Beverley. Nice welcome from the staff and brought our drinks without too long of been seated. Ordered Lamb Tikka starters and their Lamb Tikka Massalla and Duck Jalfazi for main meals. The Lamb Tikka starters arrived, 4 pieces of lamb and salad. Unfortunately it wasn't Lamb tikka there were no skewer holes were the Lamb would of been marinated then cooked in a clay oven. The lamb was of a brown/pink colour when cut rather than the grey light colour and the meat was very much like beef brisket in texture. Due to this we arranged to change the main order from Lamb Tikka Massalla to chicken Tikka Massalla following our chat with the manager after he had asked how our starters were. The mains came and I have to say their Jalfrazi sauce has to be one of the best I have ever had and the chicken tikka with its holes from the skewer was good too. However only 5 possibly 6 slim cut pieces of duck was disappointing in the Jalfazi. Could certainly be improved it they actually start serving lamb tikka cooked in a authentic clay oven.

My wife and I chose the restaurant during a visit to Hull. We had read good things on TripAdvisor. Easy to book online via their website. Extremely friendly staff. Made you feel welcome right away. We had mixed kebab starters, which were delicious. The mains were very tasty and we were definitely full at the end. I understand the great reviews on here now! Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely spot on. Had heard good things about this place so had been meaning to check it out for a while. Well worth the wait. Lovely looking restaurant with a nice vibe and atmosphere and certainly very popular as it was pretty packed. Service was great - very friendly and accommodating of different requests for levels of spice/heat etc. The food itself was amazing - good portions and all perfectly cooked and seasoned. We all said it's one of the best curries we've had for a while and certainly in Hull. Will definitely be returning and getting take-away too. Brilliant place.

The staff are very accommodating and helpful to the point that they will change ingredients in the meals on the menu to suit your palette. good selction oof different meals alongside the familiar ones you see on a regular basis at most Indian restaurants.

Wow wow wow!! What a gem of a restaurant, we will definitely be returning. We were a party of 9 including children and everything was perfection. Meal was delicious, staff were attentive, friendly and efficient but not over powering and they were so good with the children. Dishes were tasty, filling and piping hot. We couldn't have asked for more. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!

Young man front of house , Mustafa was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Only criticism is he supports Man United, that needs to change . Definitely visit again soon. Well recommended.

Cheap but no flavour in anything I bought

Superb service and one of best Indian meals I've had. Went for medium spice, but turned out a bit spicier than expected. But waiter brought out some yogurt to cool things down! If I eat here again I would go mild. The flavours were beautiful though. Highly recommend. Thanks

This review is for the takeaway. Ordered chicken tikka masala, rice, and onion bhajis, the masala was bland and very watery, the bhaji was soft and soaked in cooking oil. Never again.

I walked for half an hour to find this place from my hotel and I wasn’t disappointed. Lovely Lamb Vindaloo, pilau rice and two chipati. I would rate this restaurant a good 7 out of ten for food quality.

Was in Hull at short notice. Popped in here for a dinner. It was superb from the poppadoms to the hot towel. Service was quick and attentive. The main courses had real depth of flavour. Cleaned our plates.

I ordered takeout. Chicken was VERY tough and very hard I dont understand why they gave me this??? I didnt eat the chicken and ate the sauce with rice. Its a shame as the sauce was very tasty. I dont think ill go back but if i did i would order a veggie meal.

Visited last night for a family dinner, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent from all the staff. Would definitely recommend coming here, you’ll be glad you did! We were lucky that our walk-in could be accommodated. It seems popular and it’s no mystery why. So would recommend making a reservation to avoid any risk.

Friendly greeting, warm restaurant and fairly busy for a Monday night. Onion bajhi’s were lovely and not greasy with salad and sauce. I had the slash lick mix tikka with a new sauce they asked me to try. Lamb and chicken so tender with onions , peppers and tomatoes on a hot sizzling pan . Garlic Nan very good , salad and we had the Bombay potatoes which had a kick! Friendly chatty staff and a nice atmosphere. A night place to visit and we will return. This was our 2nd visit

My family and I visited recently whilst on holiday. Our food was really delicious, with generous portion sizes, and service was amazing! Everyone was so attentive and friendly, we highly recommend. Our young son loved the nuggets and chips too, and it was such a lovely touch that he was given ice cream for pudding. We will definitely return in the future!
