In London sightseeing with cousins from Finland all Filipino Under a railway bridge and unexciting from the outside But please do go the food is amazing Very friendly owner and staff and the food is as good as any we’ve had elsewhere in London or even the Sofitel in Manila I had the Kinilaw which was the best I’ve ever had and the crispy pata which was served with chicken the pata (pork hock) was tender and crispy crackling. The calamari, BBQ (Teriyaki) chicken and Sissig all great Finished with a Leche tart Portions were huge and very reasonably priced we shall certainly return when next in town

I was with my 2 Filipino friends from Chicago to have a dinner here in Cirilo Filipino Kainan, who advertised serving authentic Filipino foods on their website menu. We ordered 4 main courses and 2 appetizers for us 3, as we are so much excited to eat and missed our own native foods. The appetizers were good so we really had finished them. Then came the 4 main courses and to our surprise, 2 of them looks like the same so I asked the food server what were those. Out of our excitement that we can already eat the foods we longed to eat we had them but noticed the real taste and ingredients of the Filipino foods is far from our expectations, although they have the descriptions of each food on their menu. We got disappointed as we knew the real taste and preparations of the food we had ordered. The presentation was good but each of the menu advertised as our traditional filipino food seemed like lost its authenticity already. I felt so embarrassed to my visitors as we walked far from Tower of London just to locate the restaurant then just to be disappointed of what we expect. Good we are all starving and so still had eaten I don't feel like recommending this Filipino restaurant anymore to my Filipino visitors as it is embarrassing. Although the male food server was polite and attentive.

My husband and I were impressed with the presentation of the food specially the kinilaw sea bass . We enjoyed the kare kare and paksiw lechon. Portions are just right for single serving . The food was sumptuous and I like the way they’ve added mushrooms to their kare kare without altering the Filipino taste. Price range is reasonable for the quality and service you get . Will go back again when I’m Back in London .

Way overpriced for the area ! Expect to pay like it was Covent Garden or Leicester Square. The place is tiny, more like a takeaway. No ambience - poor decor, no Filipino vibe, music or even staff. Food taste, quality, selection of dishes = 4/5 Portions = 3/5 (left hungry despite paying almost 34 pounds for 2 simple main course and water) Pricing = 1/5 (was forced to pay almost 4 pounds service tax and the waiter wasn't even Filipino - appalling) Restaurant decor / ambience = 1/5 Sadly, the only smart way to eat out in London post covid and not feel being ripped off is a buffet. The owner should not comment, unless ready to reimburse me that 4 pounds.

I must have been here six times and after six consecutive five star meals it seems right to provide a review. Filipino food was new to me but the first time I tried it I was instantly taken with the lightness of the flavours even when they were bold. It’s a hell of a trick ! In addition, there are always so many subtle layers of flavour and texture dancing on my tongue. On my last visit there was an English gentleman on the next table who is married to a Filipino lady. He was so effusive about the Tahong and the calamari that he bought some for us to try. He was right to be effusive. The mussels were perfect and the creamy, zesty sauce was incredible. The belly of pork is the best I’ve ever had. The chicken adobo is hearty. The aubergine in the Pinkabet was so good I can’t even describe it. We were introduced to the chef and after the round of applause we gave him, he was at pains to tell us that EVERYTHING is prepared and cooked by him and his sous chef daily. Let me add that this review is being written in February 2022 and there are only three main courses that cost more than £10 and one of those is half of a duck! Service is attentive and friendly but you probably already guessed that. If your taste buds need a party, take a trip to Wapping. And if you are going to Wilton’s (the world’s oldest surviving music hall) for a show you’d be a fool to eat anywhere else. Trust me.

This is a gem of a restaurant - go there! On-menu food and specials both offer absolute culinary delights. My seabass special was a sumptuously large fish, delicately flavoured and succulently cooked, delicious, satisfying and light. My husband and his friend both revelled in their own order: a superbly cooked generously proportioned steak as a special, and on-menu crispy pork belly - and then promised they would return for the other's dish, having tasted it! A variety of tasty starters, abundant fresh vegetables to go around with the mains, and a short, very well-chosen wine list all additionally conspire to make eating here a sheer unadulterated pleasure. Service is extremely friendly, very knowledgeable and attentive. Covid protection measures were handled well and courteously, and ordering is from an online menu easily accessible by a QRcode.

My friends and I were on a coach trip holiday to London and decided to book a table for 6 on the 29th of October 2021 at the Cirilo Filipino Kainan. Everyone’s been craving for Filipino food so it was a treat to have dinner at a Filipino restaurant. Expectations were high but most of the food we ordered didn't deliver as to its authenticity. It was more of a fusion, not fully Filipino. All of the food were swamped with big pieces of vegetables especially the pancit bihon. The Kare-kare was tasty but the Lechon Paksiw was like fried pork with gravy on top, not tender at all. Here comes the bill which amounted to £187. Upon scrutiny we found out that an “Optional Service Charge” of £17 or 10% was added to our bill of £170. Given the disappointing quality and authenticity of food, we were very reluctant to pay this extra charge. Nowhere in the menu was the service charge mentioned. However, despite leaving a tip of £10, the owner refused to let us leave without paying the extra £17 and justified this by saying that we were a big party of 6. Apparently, the optional service charge doesn't apply to a booking of 5 or less in her view.

Me sorprendió gratamente.

Many reviewers have already sung the praises of this understated little East End gem, with its wealth of exciting Filipino dishes and a chef who's a creative wizard in the kitchen. We needed a restaurant close to Wilton's music hall and we were delighted to find this little gem. They went out of their way to produce a menu of vegan food for me and it was absolutely delicious.

Servizio cordiale e veloce. Pagamento con carta credito.

The food was very good. It was my first time trying Filipino food and I was pleasantly surprised. Ordered prawn tempura, sizzling beef sisig which were both delicious. I would eat here again.Service was also fast.

I brought my parents here to eat Filipino food after reading about the restaurant in TimeOut. Both my parents are Filipino and we were excited to try this place, however each 'Filipino' dish was a disappointment. We tried the pinakbet, Mami soup, pancit, and adobo - all equally terrible. Each dish was more of a Chinese take on Filipino food and while some may be interested in that fusion, we were hoping to have good traditional dishes, so were left feeling underwhelmed. The adobo was particularly awful. If you are looking for an authentic Philippine meal, please do not go here. It is better to stick to the Philippine restaurants in Earl's Court.

As a Filipino who lives in Birmingham where there is no Filipino restaurant, I craved for a Filipino foods so going to London is an opportunity to find a Filipino restaurant.I have searched for the good Filipino restaurant to go to and I have read the reviews of this place and my cousin and I was really looking forward going to this place. My cousin and I make sure that we will prioritise of going to this place so we rushed our tour in Tower of London and head towards and walked for 14mins to get to this place , we actually waited for it to be opened and we were really excited and can't wait to fill our cravings. But to our dismay we were really disappointed because the food is not what we expected as an authentic Filipino food, we order pancit guisado and instead of pancit what we have was misua which really did not taste like pansit at all and we did not enjoy it, we probably could have enjoyed it if the misua have been mixed with sardines and eggs and we order kare kare which is another disappointment because it was not the proper karekare. In general the only reason we went there is the Filipino food so it did not matter if we were not received a warm greetings, but it lets us down and we were really disappointed. I would not recommend this place for Filipino people who is looking for authentic Filipino food.

We ate at this restaurant after a visit to Wilton's Music hall. The shredded duck was good, though not as crispy as it might be. We both had fish stews for the main course and both were good. Service was good and not expensive.

Walking distance from Aldgate East and Tower Hill tube stations, this family-run Filipino restaurant on the historic Cable Street, near the junction with Dock Street, is quite a find. Cirilo is master in the kitchen and his wife Julia organises front of house. Our waiter was delighted when we ordered a bottle of Romanian Pinot Noir (£19). She was from Romania. We stayed with the wine all evening. The four of us shared a superb half of shredded duck, Chinese style. Perfect. I could live off this. We shared four main courses of the national dish Abodo, Sizzling Prawns, Beef Sisis and Mechadd, with boiled rice. One of our party is a fan of the powerful Red Horse beer (£4.50) and ordered a bottle to finish off. An exceptional dinner for the four of us came to £116.30. This was with three bottles of wine -- and we left a generous cash tip. What a great find.

No mistake: the food was great, the service good an the meal was reasonably priced. But we nearly didn't eat there because I asked permission to plug in my phone charger and it was refused. When I said that I'd go somewhere else, the boss came over and explained that they are a small business and have to meet the costs. I could only charge my phone if I was prepared to pay...£1.50. My girlfriend was desperate for some Filipino food, so I agreed and we sat down. Then the manager offered to switch on the electric heater...which consumes about 500 times as much electricity as a phone charger. The restaurant was almost empty at lunchtime, so how about free WiFi, free phone-charging, and some genuine Filipino folk music instead of the classic Brit-pop which was playing? There aren't many Filipino restaurants about, so a bit more thought could turn this place into a real success.Remember: the food was great!

Whilst staying in the area overnight with my daughter, we had a look on Trip Advisor for suggestions for the best places to eat near Wombats Hostel. This place is so small on the outside you could miss it, but when you find it, it's well worth a visit. Some tables were reserved, which is always a good sign. We had a lovely welcome and despite the fact it was our waitress' first night on the job, she was competent and friendly. We shared seaweed and duck for starters, and for our main meal we had chicken chow-main and pineapple sweet and sour chicken with rice and noodles. It was all delicious. We will eat here again if we are in the area.

Great food and service, and really good value for money at this little philippine restaurant. Recommend the chicken skewers starter. Gorgeous! The noise of the trains running overhead adds to the charm of this place, as does the 80's music!

Spotted the restaurant by chance. We weren't that hungry so decided to give it a whirl. It was busy (always a good sign). We ordered delicious crispy duck for starters followed by two noodle dishes. Everything was piping hot, pretty good portions and very, very tasty. Accompanied by two glasses of house red (good). Service was fast and friendly. A really good find.

We are very limited for good Chinese where we live in Wapping, the Mrs convinced me to try Korean... and it was all very nice. And mostly recognisable.I did enjoy it, only reason I did not give 5 stars is service was a little over baring and there was no desert.

Best eastern Asian food around here! Good service, tasty food, and really fresh crunchy veges, not overlooked and soggy. Love their Korean dishes too, different to the usual Chinese or Thai. Definitely recommend!

Over the years like much of East London - brick Lane has been transformed into a hip - arty neighbourhood where Asian food courts and Street food have crowded out the old hole in the wall Bangladeshi eateries. Gram Bangla remains a gem - tucked at the deep end, a no frills outlet for those looking for authentic, home style Bangla cuisine. Undoubtedly- the high point is the medley of “Bhortas”.

This was recommended by Rick Steeve's travel guide. Rick rarely disappoints but this place was a real letdown. Service not great and food not great either. Chicken mosalla was dry and sauce boring. A good Indian sauce should be complex and wonderful. Samosas were tiny. The one good thing was the chutney was delicious. Even though every other restaurant in London that we visited willingly gave us free tap water, the server here claimed that they did not have tap water. Really? What are they using back in the kitchen? You can bet that they are not using bottled water for all of their cooking. So your choice is to go thirsty or pay for bottled water, $3.75. This ploy is obviously just an effort to increase their revenue stream. Maybe they don't realize that water should be a human right, not just for those that pay. I am 67, took my niece on a trip to London, my treat, she is 34. The server here did not make eye contact with me, only my niece. Then when he brought the check, he didn't put it in the middle or give it to me, he gave it to my niece as if I were some elderly dependent and there was no doubt that she would be paying. Very odd. Or ageist?

The dish had no flavor and was cold and tasteless. The ambiance was disagreeable and the service was not professional. They obviously employ phony five-star reviews to influence buyers.

The Eastern Eye Balti House in Brick Lane, London, is well-regarded for its traditional Indian and Bangladeshi dishes, consistently earning high praise from visitors. Known for its authentic menu featuring dishes like chicken balti, lamb bhuna, and various tandoori options, it has received commendations for both flavor and authenticity. Many reviews highlight the warm, welcoming atmosphere, along with the attentive service, making it a popular choice, especially during weekends when reservations are often recommended.
