Excellent food. Collected a take out from there, had a quick beer whilst waiting and everyone enjoyed it greatly when I wandered back with it.

A wonderful evening, excellent food and service. Thank you, we will be back .

Best pizza in town - fact!! The pizza here is so good, every time I go to order a pasta, I just can't bring myself to do it. So, sadly, I can't comment on the deliciousness of the pasta items on the menu. BUT the pizzas are ace! The staff are really friendly and accommodating. Great atmosphere and reasonably priced. If you like pizza and you're in Pompey, you must try this place!!!!

Went for the lunch time deal, offering any pizza and a soft drink for £8. Unfortunately the pizza was way smaller than the ones you see in other pictures filling the black slate. Not much of a deal at all! Pizza was good but didn’t have much topping.

Lovely atmosphere, staff pleasent but it seemed like they were understaffed. Pizzas a little burnt, sauces came out to table once we had almost finished. Our espresso martini was really really bad, tasted like the dreggs of coffee left in a machine. However, believe they were just super understaffed and would try there again.

Very nice pizza with lots of choice. One of the few places to serve a great quality pizza. I must take advantage of the lunch time deal another time.

Popped in for a start of term treat ! Greeted warmly as always by Rebecca - had a nice cold Coca Cola and had three terrific pizzas always pick the americano / the neopolotana and the chicken and peppers pizza - came very quickly piping hot smelling great looking beautiful and everyone wolfed them down ! Look forward to going back soon and trying the rest of the menu ! Always a pleasure - thank you guys !!

When this place is great, it’s excellent but last couple of times we have visited the pizzas have arrived extremely delayed and almost cold. It’s like receiving a day old pizza by the time it got to the table. There is no excuse for cold food other than not enough table staff collecting from the kitchen. Pizza should be hot when eating in. It’s a 30 second walk from the kitchen to table. The restaurant wasn’t super busy. Almost feels like they are run off their feet getting deliveroo out and prioritising. Circolo doesn’t have enough front of house staff to run back and check when they are ready for the restaurant! Real disappointment and will be giving it a delay before returning. Hopefully a momentary blip. The second chance is because it has been excellent.

I booked for 8 people. The service was great staff very friendly. All the food came out together...quite a feat! It was a great evening. Reasonably priced too, always a bonus! Will definitely be going back.

Easily one of the best pizza restaurants for miles around. Wonderful taste and clearly a tried and tested recipe. I had a delicious funghi and our server was very attentive. Couldn’t fault it and the service was quick too. Will go again asap and try not to eat the pizza before getting some pictures!

Really very well looked after tonight. It was a small restaurant but the waitress really looked after us. Starters out quickly and all food hot and exactly what was needed after a long day walking around Portsmouth. Would definitely recommend as a relaxed and easy dinner experience. 5 stars from me.

The pizzas were perfect. We shared the Circolo and Il Grande Formaggi. My son had the margherita and dough balls. Service was great as were drinks and music. We will be back very soon x

Great service, great food and great prices. The staff here went the extra mile to entertain the kids too, which was above and beyond. The setting is lovely and gives little hints as to what the place was in a previous life. Certainly will be returning as this is now a family favourite and I definitely recommend trying it out yourself.

Nice food, proper authetic italian pizzas however did feel a bit rushed to finish and leave as it was busy that weekend. Would come back as the food was really nice

We were the only diners, on a Friday lunchtime, and had visited on a recommendation, and whilst the food was good, the host clearly didn't want us there: he was rude in his demeanour, his attitude toward us sucked, and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy - to an immense level - having thumping dance-music playing to accompany his continual banging of cutlery (and whilst there may have been a purpose to this... perhaps it aids, somehow, in their cleaning... it was incredibly annoying, and seemingly done just to ruin our experience)? So, if it wasn't for the 'gentleman' running the show that day, we would probably have enjoyed ourselves, but we will never darken the doorstep of this venue again, as people like that do not deserve repeat custom!

We had pizza and spaghetti and lovely wine service was great - so welcoming and efficient - please try the Italian liqueurs thanks G - another great great dinner thank you.

Really hate to do poor reviews but thought I’d give circolo another go after 4 years. After reading the fairly decent reviews. I remember not being amazed the first time but thought would give it another go as it’s so local to me. I ordered a rusticana pizza , on the menu online it stated £12.50 ,when I got there to collect it was £13.50. It is around 12 inches so quite small for the cost, so I was hoping the quality would be up to scratch. To be honest it was really lacking in flavour and Very dry. And not much to it. Even some shop ones I’ve purchased have been nicer I’m sorry to say.. :( I just feel slightly robbed for £13.50.. Which is a shame. Because the restaurant itself has really a nice feel to it. And the Customer service I couldn’t fault. Just sadly the pizza. Maybe other things on the menu may taste nicer 🤷‍♀️

It was a busy summer Friday evening in Southsea but we were able to walk into Circolo and we glad we did! It was service with smile and we kept it simple with a pizza and we were not disappointed- all our pizzas were delicious. We would happily return!

Now this is what an independent Italian restaurant should be like. Great atmosphere, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff and incredible food. Fresh ingredients, simply put together and put together very, very well indeed. I will most certainly be back.

Small intimate setting that bodes well for an enjoyable meal. The Pollo pesto was a creamy delight. Will visit again soon.

Excellent restaurant, good pizza and a nice atmosphere. Note to owner, please throw away the plastic slates and serve pizzas on proper ceramic plates that have been warmed so the food stays warmer longer.

Food ordered through Deliveroo. Pizza substandard dry and hard. Garlic bread covered in pepper. Fries delivered in plastic (chinese) tub again covered in pepper and soggy. Perhaps a better experience dining in?! As far as we were concerned £45 wasted.

Fantastic pizzas and pasta. Incredibly tasty. I really liked thier pizza bases. Instead of a chewy base the pizzas have a short texture and have a nice bite. It made a refreshing change. Great selection of drinks including a nice range of craft beers and cocktails. The staff were very friendly too.

Just had three takeaway pizzas . Overall the place seems to have a good vibe going . Cute little interior . Staff are lovely . Obviously a local favourite . We love genuine pizza and were excited to try out the signature pie the Circolo . Which didn’t disappoint. Gooey goats cheese with a great all round flavour. But a standout fail on an over done margarita . What can define a pizzeria is this simple dish. The base was tasteless and the topping packed with overcooked cheese which had browned and bubbled. It was hard to define any flavour whatsoever . A real shame as this pizza really is go to for any family meal. The third the American was decent enough but again too much cheese . Hopefully a one off error as the staff and location are excellent. .

Disappointing experience and poor customer service. Pizza was dry and overcooked. Nothing like you would expect of an Italian style. The crust would break not fold and was left as a result. After finishing main course we sat for 20 minutes and were never asked if we would like to order dessert. The starters were really tasty however this didnt save it ocerall. Wouldn't return or recommend

Always enjoy eating here. The food is first class and good value. Pizza was delicious, too full for dessert but there was only ice cream available when we went so I didn't feel as though I missed out too much,! For a relaxed evening with a friendly atmosphere and great food would definitely recommend. Just be aware they only take cash and no card payments. Not an issue for me but I know some people not keen on this.

This is a great place to grab a pizza, whether it be take away or eat in. Eating in you'll be greeted by a very stylish eatery with good period features. Although small, it doesn't feel too crowded when full, you can still have some privacy when conversing. I've had a few different types of pizzas which are all baked in a traditional pizza oven. Along side pizzas there are pastas and salads on offer, one of the salads being the best I've tasted in a while. It's reasonably priced and has a lot of food and drink on offer to suit all tastes. They have lunch menus and a 2-4-1 type menu on Tuesdays. Parking around the back is pay and display but very convenient when visiting here. Will update with photos upon next visit.

Real pizza, full of flavour. They went above and beyond to cater for a customer that does not eat cheese - and became my partner's pizzeria of choice! They are unfortunately a bit short currently on the beer selection, but we suspect that's on Covid. Be prepared to pay cash - but there is an ATM just by their doorsteps if needed. Very friendly service, great location - will definitely pop back when moving to Portsmouth ;)

I used to love Circolo pizzas but the last few times I’ve ordered for delivery, they’ve been dry, crispy, lacking of toppings and flavour and this time they weren’t even cut all the way through so trying to take a slice, it’d just fall apart in your hand. Really disappointed Circolo! Thought it may have been one off’s but the standard has completely dropped and feels very lazy and lacklustre during lockdown. For the price it used to be a bargain for such flavoursome food but now it just feels like being robbed as they’re now flavourless, dry and tired. The Circolo pizza used to be a delight for the tastebuds and the highlight of all the menus on Osborne Road but now I’d probably get better flavours by cooking the contents of my bin. Please get the standard back to what they used to be! You can and have done so much better!

After Sopranos being fully booked they kindly directed us to Circolo. We wanted a covid safe meal so were hoping to get a table outside, which they gave us. We had a very pleasant pizza and a nice bottle of wine. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definately return if we are down that way again.

06/04/2021 Lovely staff, everyone was friendly. However, DO NOT order when they have their buy-one-get-one-free days. The quality of the pizza we received today was a far cry from the usual standard. There wasn’t enough sauce, the cheese was flavourless, and the dough hadn’t been given enough time to rise. The pizza we received last week wasn’t watered down and was much nicer. Today’s pizzas were on par with the asda frozen range.

If you’re in search for the highest standard of pizza then you need to try this place. I’d given up on dinning locally at Italian restaurants, as I was always displeased with the outcome. My partner was for ever suggesting that we give Circolo a try, after some time I gave in and Wow what a pleasant surprise. Warm, polite, professional staff and the pizzas are absolutely delicious! Just wish I’d tried it sooner. 🍕👌🏼

I have been two Circolo twice to eat in now and had take away once on their BOGOF deal on Tuesday. Every time the staff are super friendly and very helpful. Food has always been quick and to a very high standard, the specials on the wall are worth a look i have tried two that tasted amazing. Best pizza I have ever had 10/10
