Bella Calabria in Portsmouth

We visited last night for my nieces 18th birthday 17 of us for a special occasion we pre booked and paid deposit , the place was empty but we were treated as a inconvenience ! Got shouted at as we put number confetti on table which we cleaned up if we hadn’t of paid deposit we would of got up and left !!

Food = average Italian fare, practically thrown at you. Poor service...asked twice for the desert menu which never appeared and after 30 minutes gave up and asked to pay the bill when l was made to feel l was putting them out. Will never return.

Absolutely delicious. First class.

Eat here often and am rarely disappointed. Very friendly and welcoming staff, but even when not busy have to attract their attention for service or the bill (often a good thing, as there not pestering you all the time). Good range of choices for food and drink.

Dry pasta with sprinkle of meet there was NO sauce not worth what being changed for for what we got and i dont think they would of put that on a plate so why send it out on delivery like it

Use this restaurant on many occasions. This visit would have been the fifth this year already. One of the better restaurants in North End. Good food, service and atmosphere. A excellent variety of Italian food and desserts. Quantity of food was well worth the money on this occasion . It is a little expensive though, but well worth it.

We went for Sunday lunch where parking was easy to find and restaurant was not busy. Excellent service. We had Rigatoni Buongustaia and pizza speciale. Both were nice especially the pasta.

I had the sea bass and it was delicious, my son's loved the pasta dishes too

Another excellent dinner at Bella Calabria. Has been our go to choice for several years now and have never been disappointed. The garlic mushrooms in white wine and cream sauce starter were delicious. We had a pepperoni pizza and rigatoni pasta dish - both excellent. Finished with an indulgent dessert each. Staff are very attentive and knowledgeable. The menu choice is amazing. Three courses with a bottle of house red and a pint of Birra Moretti just under £85 so excellent value for good quality food. Thoroughly recommended.

A warm and friendly welcome with a “Happy Hour” menu on quieter days make Bella Calabria an excellent choice for a midweek lunch. The Fried Whitebait was crisp, hot and delicious, accompanied by a Pinot Grigio that went perfectly. My main was Pollo alla Cacciatora with fresh vegetables. It was sublime. For dessert I chose Tiramisu. Again, the portion size was generous and it tasted divine.

Enjoyed the food here, wife's starter was enough for 2 I think. Service was good, quickly delivered drinks and the food didn't take too long to come. Parking after 6pm can be problematic, nothing the venue can do about that but be prepared for a walk or drive a few times around the area. I noticed one chap in an electric wheelchair struggled to get in and eventually gave up - not sure why, he was with a group of able bodied people so it may have been a physical limitation with the door width - just something to be aware of. You can't tip by card, cash only, not sure why but as we didn't have cash we couldn't leave a tip.

I hope those people to get some standard of education first and secont to know how to cook they cooking like thay see a first time kitchen

So cheap food and cheap communication So moody 😒 Food sea food is like soup Even street food is 10 times better than those who pretend to cook like Italian So embarrassing 😳 Destroy people mood this those bin food Sorry, but make your quality of communication a bit better and smile when u drop food in the table and a list say thank you to people King of Italy 🤢

Starters not so great, but main course pizzas 🍕 outstanding. Also, great wine 🍷 recommendation. All in all, not a bad price, but service wasn’t satisfactory for the number of guests in the restaurant. I might just take out a pizza next time, as opposed to dining in

Wow the food was absolutely amazing the waitresses were brilliant and we can't wait to go back again..you could tell and also see the food was not paket mix or frozen it was freshly cooked and extremely tasty took my wife and son and all our food was delicious....grazi

We had passed this restaurant in North End Portsmouth a few time and decided to give it ago when we found all of our favourite places fully booked on a Saturday night , we booked a table for 7.30 PM , the place was half full and we got a table in the window , they have a few good wines and my steak was very good.

So accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. A busy Friday night, 8 cyclists coming in at staggered times and still happy to arrange tables. Pizza bases really good too!

The menu is delicious (minestrone, bruschetta, 4Seasons pizza, spaghetti Bolognese, strawberry cheesecake, and tiramisu). The Chef and the Waitress were very kind and friendly. Strong and large dishes. 100% recommended.

The food is very good (bruschetta was exceptional 👌🏼👌🏼). It's the second time we came back. The staff is lovely and the atmosphere is great. The prices are very reasonable, so would recommend that place.

Food was really good! We had starters, mains and shared a cheesy garlic pizza....all good arrived very hot but the flavours were 🔥🔥 fair pricing too. We ended up parking in Lidl car park, which only gives 90mins if you buy something there, so was a bit of a rush really- no time for dessert 😥 Only downside was in the ladies toilet, there was one without a toilet seat and the other wouldn't lock, only thing holding it back from the full 5 ⭐ Look forward to a return visit though 😁

If you are looking for fine dining with an Italian atmosphere, at truly amazing prices, then you must come here. The pasta is absolutely divine, authentic and tickling all the tastebuds. The service is impeccable with the staff highly professional and engaging. Don't pass it by!

The restaurant experience was disappointing overall. The food lacked flavor, and the service was incredibly slow. I wouldn't recommend it.

Fast service, great food, good house wine, and great value especially if you get the "before 5pm" special deal. Will definitely come again

Service was a bit slow to start off with, waited around 15 minutes before our drinks order was taken and then around a further 10 minutes to get the drinks. Staff were very apologetic for the delay though! Food arrived fairly quickly and was of a good standard, with plenty of variety of food. There was a good selection of traditional desserts and the tirimasu was very tasty! When it come to pay, was quite a delay in finding someone to pay, buy this was partly due to them being quite busy, overall would recommend!

food was lovely , the petto di pollo alla crema served with "vegetables of the day" was just normal chips was a little disappointed with that especially since it was nearly £20 for that alone, also the funghi all aglio had nothing with it no pasta ect just the sauce with mushrooms and the bread basket was just one of them part baked rolls cut in half ..... the food itself was tasty and hot, doubt I'd order again for above reasons though , cheap to fix considering the prices they charge

TINY portion of pesto pasta with 5 small bits of chicken it £15! The half portion of meatballs and spaghetti was the same size as this ‘adult’ portion. Asked if this was a child’s portion and it was not. They said they’d put more on but it would be extra money. No thanks. The steak went back as under cooked when asked to be well done. Still came back pink. This came with 11 chips and no veg. The bread basket was two warmed up petit pan rolls. The 4 soft drinks cost £16. No atmosphere. Full bright lights with a freezing window seat. Half the puddings were off the menu.

We ordered a meal which was meant to come with vegetables of the day instead they sent it with chips which is absolutely shocking. Considering we paid £18.50 per meal and it was meant to come with vegetables to receive it with chips is a disgrace if we wanted chips and chicken, we could’ve ordered from my local kebab shop which would have been half of the price. I’m not happy with what has been done whatsoever and this is not the first time

I didn’t receive my order. This is the third time my order has not arrived within a two hour window, so I have to cancel the order. I have to phone to ask for an update and I am always told my food is ready and waiting but the delay is due to there being no delivery drivers available. It is a shame as when we have ordered and actually received the order, the food has been excellent and is a firm family favourite. However, due to these three times, I will no longer be ordering from here. I have never had this problem with any other restaurant on Just Eat.

Was really looking forward to a lovely italian. Starter arrived, very disappointed at the King Prawns, at £13.95 I expected a treat. Plate turned up and 3 prawns stared up at me. Main meal turned up, was ok. So sadly to say will not be returning again.

Absolutely shocking! Waited over an hour called the restaurant. The lady told me that my food had been sat on the counter for ages but no driver turned up to deliver it!!!! No refund! No help at all! And just eat are not replying to my complaint

Me and my boyfriend went here for lunch today after being recommended it by the jewelers down the round and it couldn't have been better! We both had the 3 course meal for £16 per head and the food was amazing! my boyfriend said it was the best pasta dish he has had and mine was outstanding as well. We went in in a rush due to work times which we told the server and he went above and beyond to make sure we were finished in time while still being able to enjoy the experience. We will definitely be back soon!

We previously visited this place staff chef food hospitality’s 100% Unfortunately we decided today to go again because we had a great first experience we rebooked 🤯 We didn’t get to taste the food 1 Staff un inviting! The middle age male came across rude arrogant we waited to be served he felt it was more important to seat others and then attended to them before us no communication no Drinks Why? Mmm He then sent someone over and she then went to the couple that came 15 mins after us I had to say something so he sent someone over and she stood there with her book and did not even speak! Now we decide to leave rather cause a seen because most of the time that is what is expected ! Anyone reading this may have had this experience in life we have a few times just because ‘however Being BLACK gives NO-ONE the right to treat us with utter disregard ! Anyway now that I have that off my chest if you are black or of any mixed heritage I pray you save yourself a the embarrassment of dealing with such people. I wounded if they would have treated us differently if they really knew who we where !!!! Very disappointing!!!
