Over the last 10 or so years we’ve used most, if not all of the Indian takeaway/delivery options in Halstead. Some we’ve dropped for the food quality, some for reliability but we now have a firm favourite in Cinnamon Tree. The quality and volume of food is excellent…the quality of the lamb dishes is very good and delivery is always on time!

Went on a Monday and restaurant was very quiet. There were 4 of us. The service was very poor. We waited ages for drinks. Had to get our own cutlery from another table. Staff were rude and useless.Food was ok but nothing special for what they charge. Never again would I waste my money there, it was a miserable evening!

Excellent night spent here on a Wednesday night as a group of 6. We all decide to go for the Banquet 4 course meal which is very good value for money. Service was brilliant, The food was exceptional with great flavour and served piping hot. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and was nicely decorated. This is definitely one the best Indian restaurants in the area, would recommend trying. Hope to return here again soon🙂

Came in on a Sunday for their set menu. Portions are very generous in my opinion. Starter, main and a side for £13, and they don’t downsize. Really great taste, and very friendly and helpful staff. They do add a 10% service change at the end of your bill, but I think it is very deserved.

Utter waste service . Missing orders. They will not worry about refund to customers. This is my last and first order from cinnamon tree from Halstead. I will not suggested this restaurant to anybody.

We come here quite a lot and it never disappoints. The staff are always so friendly & attentive and the food is the best around. Highly recommend, never had a bad meal and presentation is always spot on.

I took a week to recover from food poisoning I got from the food at this place. Never again.

Ordered online during the day for later in the evening. Arrived and food was ready within minutes. Was very nice, best Indian we’ve had in ages, will definitely be back.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent price ( Wed banquet night) Cannot do a higher praise for this restaurant and recommend it 100%. The only negative is we were visiting the area, otherwise it would definitely be our regular curry house!

We ate here last night, on a Wednesday it’s a banquet meal, a starter, main, side & naan/rice for £17 a head. It was bloody delicious! The bill hikes up very quickly though due to service charge & the prices of drinks! The cinnamon tree hasnt been at this premises long and everything is new and in fantastic condition. Can’t wait to go back with my friends in a fortnight

This is a top quality place to visit a lovely restaurant with fantastic food and good friendly staff my food was some of the best I've had in an Indian restaurant......they also have entertainment on certain nights.....which I intend to try out.....5star

We have been going to the Cinnamon tree for many years, but now relocated, we found the service ok, and the food rather average - lots of sauce, little protein/main fill and just not very exciting or as authentic as times past. There you go. Wouldn’t mind if cheap, but of course you are talking best part of £70 for two with beers.

Excellent. First time we have used this restaurant and the take away was delicious. The staff were very pleasant and the restaurant itself looked lovely. We will be using again either for a takeaway or to dine in. Recommend

The food is of a very high standard. The staff are friendly and attentive. The pricing is fair. The decor is also very nice although the main entrance door and lobby are a bit bland, I think it used to be a bank. Also, as you would expect, people go outside to smoke, and although this is outside the restaurants’ control to an extent, on our last visit customers were standing and smoking on the steps right outside the door which made it a little unpleasant when leaving. There’s plenty of pavement they could use and some signage might help encourage this.

Amazing food. Portions are too generous for us and we only order one main dish. Their lager is really good too served in one third pint glass. Definitely not a half or I couldn't manage a second. One of our favourite stop offs driving from Stansted airport.

This place was amazing. The service went above and beyond. The food was delicious. The entertainment was first class. And the waiters danced the night away with their clients

If in town, you need to try this place

Ordered a takeaway for delivery from this place. Said it could take up to 40mins.. fine, same as most places. Actually took best part of 90mins. Had to keep calling. Food arrived cold. And it was really poor. Had heat but no flavour, mine genuinely looked like cat vomit! Very unpleasant. Maybe they had an off day, they sounded very busy, but i dont see that as an acceptable excuse. They should have said they couldnt provide our order at that time. No offer of recompense from the vendor. Hugely disappointing. Would NOT recommend.

Truly lovely food, great atmosphere and tonight ‘other’ funny customers but what made our night was the amazing dessert, not on the menu but truly should be and promoted… it was amazing thankyou Mohamed

I have ordered takeaways numerous times from the Cinnamon Tree and always delivered on time and hot. The food always taste amazing, clean and fresh! This is by far the best Indian food I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I have eaten in many Indian restaurants in London and they do not come close! I ordered enough food for two and have always been pleasantly surprised at the fair pricing. A right little GEM in Halstead!! 🥘

This is a great Indian restaurant, the food is very good and it is good value for money. The staff are very helpful, friendly and polite and cannot do enough for you. All in all this is a great place to eat and I would highly recommend it to all, give it a try, you will not be disappointed. First class service I for one will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

Went in with a big crowd of 15, to be fair they really struggled keeping up with drinks and we waited about an hour and a half to order starters..... The food was incredible though and service was very good overall although we were in there about 4 hours before we got starters, mains and the bill. Still 4 stars because the food was that good.

We had a great night good company great food and service what more can you ask for.

Restaurant is fresh and clean. Heating was on so no one was cold. Food was good and plenty of it. The only disappointment was the service charge applied. This is shown on the menu, but could be missed. As we were a large party and spent a large amount it was a shame to be landed with a 10% service charge at the end.

For a Friday evening and without reservation we were sat down promptly. Throughout the evening the restaurant was full with a wonderful vibe. The menu was clear and was detailed, food was an excellent temperature and fantastic flavours. Thank you for a lovely evening and will be back in the future!

New place which is much bigger than before. Food was a bit bland which it was not before? With all of the space, have bigger tables to fit all of the plates and somewhere to hang coats. Probably not go again soon

Went to cinnamon tree Halstead, First of all they took so long to greet us to take us to our pre booked table. We then sat for 30 minutes with no drinks order being taken. We had to go to the bar and ask for someone. The poppadoms came out 15 minutes later… still no drinks. Finally the drinks came out, the beers and mixtures were all flat, not even a bubble in the glass. We then waited another 35 minutes to be given a menu. We had to go and ask for that too. The food took so long we didnt want it, so asked for it to be bagged up. x1 chicken madras x1 chicken korma x1 chicken tikka on zizzler x1 chicken shaslik bombay potato's saag paneer x2 pilu rice x2 narn bread what we actually got boxed up…. Half the korma tikka on zizzler the onions from the shaslik half the naan x3 staffed came over to box it up, nobody seemed to communicate. We would completely understand if it was busy but it was far from it. Really bad experience, 2 stars as the food was ok and the staff were polite.

Unfortunately when all our dishes were served they had forgotten mine. When it finally arrived it was cold so I had to send it back. A discount would have been nice.

Shame that Cinnamon Tree cant sort out all the filthy bins, especially the oil one that they keep leaving in everyone's way outside their old premises. Doesn't instill much faith in the general cleanliness, rats galore....

I telephoned to ask if they had disabled access. They said they did, so I asked to book a table for one the following evening I did not state a time. The man then told me they were fully booked. There was something about the way he said it made me suspicious. So I ended the call and then rang a friend and asked her if she would try and book a table for 2 for the same evening and not to give a time. This she did and was told she could have a table at 8.30. I had hoped I was wrong but obviously I wasn't I'm not sure whether I was discriminated because I was disabled or because I was on my own. But either way I was discriminated against and in this day and age you would think they would want all the custom they could get

Poor service Was a regular at the old place. For at least 11years. We had 1 nam bread 1 pilau rice 3 pappadoms 1sag alloo 3 small bottles of kingfisher 1 lamb makarni Which consisted of half a dozen Pieces of lamb. Tough as old boots Swimming in about 1/2 a pint of sauce. 1duck tikka massala I think it was a rubber duck Again hardly any duck in A large bowl of sauce. Total £65.20 Which£6.50 was service charge. Paid £80. Waited for at least 15 minutes For waiter to return with change But never did. Had to ask someone else Who was quite rude. So will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. Will not be returning to the new premises.

Beautiful place for having dinner, the food is a must try. Had a really nice time as the staffs are so gentle and friendly. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!

Best service I’ve had in my life, the new look of the restaurant looks fantastic. Originally from London and this place far exceeds anything in London and is a must have.

At time of booking we were not told about the very limited menu, only told when we were sat at table which was annoying as i wouldn't normally have had anything on that menu so would rather have come back when they were less busy with a normal menu. Very busy because they have moved to a bigger restaurant along from the old place, so busy that I think they were struggling to cope and it showed in the service which was slow and it showed in the food which wasn't very good, chicken tikka madras 6 small pieces of chicken in a thin sauce could tell it was mass produced, my daughter asked for chicken tikka masala but a bit spicy if possible it came out so sweet with coconut it could have been a desert. The prices were as high as indian restaurants with a higher reputation/calibre. I will not spend my hard earned cash here again as we were all underwhelmed....

Nice clean restaurant & friendly staff. Good food & portions. Seems more expensive to eat in than take away. I'm sure the food is frozen & then microwaved to defrost before serving.

Absolutely the best meal I have had in years. Staff are extremely polite and helpful. I would recommend the Garlic chilli chicken and a side of the best bombay potatoes that you will ever taste. No wonder they have been in business for 28 years. I will definitely pay a visit next time I'm back in England.

Cinnamon Tree is a fab restaurant and takeaway too! We ate there last night but know it well. The food is always excellent and flavoursome and the staff are really friendly. Thanks for a lovely evening!!

No parking Kitchen looked grubby

Most the food was nice, but the service and atmosphere were unfortunately poor. Our server was unwelcoming, which felt rude. We were sat down near the front next to a large noisy table, despite the restaurant otherwise being empty. The atmosphere was very poor, I don't remember any music. Unlikely to dine in here again.

Always excellent food wether you eat in or takeaway, the staff are friendly and look after you well. Price of the food is good for the super quality of it.

Had our first takeaway from here and it was frankly poor. We ordered three different dishes and they all came in the same bland, orange sauce. You couldn't differentiate between them and there was no hint of different spices, a sort of supermarket-generic curry. Poppadums were supplied free, but they were inedible, been cooked in old oil. Two stars is generous TBH.

We ordered a take away from Cinnamon Tree on a Friday night and the food was delivered very quickly, was hot and tasted amazing! Can't wait to dine in there.

Lovely place good helpful staff and great food

We have been going here from time to time for the last 20 years. Nice location, clean, friendly staff and good Indian style beer. We have always found it to be of a good standard for local, and they also deliver. The menu is the usual mix of Indian/Asian and very nice to have locally. The building has also been decorated at last, as it did look a bit tired to be honest. I would recommend a visit here, and pretty sure you will return.

Your delivery service is Absolutely appalling Twice we were promised our food in twenty mins it’s now been two hours Yes you offered a bottle of wine but still not what I except When the food arrived it was cold And guess what No bottle of wine totally unexceptable and spoilt the evening

Have always used this Takeaway and the delivery has always been quick but tonight we ordered at 5.35 pm was told 45mins to an hour wait our food turned up at 7.45 almost cold so not impressed Lady at the restaurant said they were very busy but surely they should value their takeaway customers as well

Food was very nice here as was the service. Seemed to be reasonably priced too. My only negative is the toilet facilities. They seemed to have found a small cupboard, stuck a stud wall down the middle and popped a ladies znd mens toilet in. Not that good to be honest. Worth a visit for the Menu!

Had to wait 40 minutes tonight for a delivery we ordered two hours in advance of the time we wanted it. Food was lukewarm and needed warming up. Not a lot of flavour either....very disappointing as we use them regularly.

We Alison Barrow and myself Yvonne Warren always have takeout and eat in the restaurant what ever the occasion or just to catch up. They have all there new signage done on the outside and it looks lovely. Well you are the best in town and won’t go anywhere else as you can guarantee if they give a faulty product then they accept your word and it’s there number one priority to put it right and they do xx

Would rate 0 stars if possible. Disgusting, ordered over an hour an half ago, they said 45 minutes and were collecting. Still no food ready. None of the staff wearing masks, due to having vulnerable person at home waited outside the restaurant, rang them from outdife and the person on the phone was so rude it was unbelievable. I dont normally write comments but so disgusted at this I had to write it. Never ordering from here again.

Ate here recently and will be returning this week too! Food and service are really good. I am not local to the area but have a relative who is. We always make sure we stop by to eat when we are visiting! Really good Indian Food!

Absolutely delicious takeaway. We've just had food delivered due to Covid19 restrictions and the food delivered was just as good as if we'd been eating in. Complimentary poppadoms and chutney , the starters had fresh salad to accompany them and the main meals were perfect. We've eaten 'in house' before and everyone is always welcoming and helpful and over the phone they were no different. Thank you.
