What a find. Lovely friendly, compact restaurant with the best food and the most amazing value for money. We ate here on the last night of our break away and were not disappointed. Service was excellent, food was served quickly but not too quick and tasted excellent. Can highly recommend Cinnamon Butter Chicken! Will definitely visit again.

Went with a friend for a catch up ,to cinnamon went for the new opening under new management Was not disappointed was a fabulous meal lots of choices an d food was so tasty and staff really Good too.,we will definitely go again . The menu has so much choice fab. And they delivery now .

The the food at cinnamon is delicious, I would recommend this place to anyone for a decent curry. It is also reasonably priced.

Had lovely food from here many times but the food we ordered last night was awful. Admittedly it was a late order. However we still expected it to be great. The dishes we ordered were varied and should have tasted very different. They all had the same hot red sauce and all were very chilli hot. Not what we ordered. Tasted awful. Very disappointed

I ate at this restaurant for the first time last month. The restaurant did not serve alcohol, but allowed diners to bring their own drinks. I had poppadoms and pickles followed by a Meat Pattie starter. The main course was a Prawn Vindaloo, Pilau Rice and a plain paratha. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. The service was prompt and friendly. I would happily eat at this restaurant again and would highly recommend it.

We only started getting takeaways during lock down and I'm so glad we did, the food is great. We get takeaway nearly every week and the quality and price are fantastic.

Ordered a takeaway delivery. It’s the first time I’ve used them as I moved to a nearby village and they came recommended by a local as they are not on apps. Have to say it was fantastic. Food arrived warm, and all dishes were really tasty. So much so I felt inclined to write this review. The staff were friendly and polite, arrived on time and I will definitely be a regular customer.

Impossible to single any one thing out for special praise because it is all amazingly good. The lady who owns it is passionate about her food and sourcing authentic ingredients like a true Sicilian and it shows. Do not go through Wheldrake without stopping for a coffee because that would be a crime!

Called at 5.00pm and arrived at 6.00pm from Bubwith to Wheldrake (10 miles) and above all delivered warm and with a great smile and a very happy delivery driver ( who clearly enjoys his job, at least when he is on time 😳). Well down Cinnamon, and as Arnie says.... “I’ll be back” 👌👌👌😘

Just moved into Bubwith and only a few doors down from the restaurant. We used for the first time last night and the food was amazing! As curry lovers we are extremely happy and I think it's fair to say they will be seeing a lot more of us 😁

Fantastic meal with family. Service excellent. Food excellent. My dad said that it was the best lamb rogan josh he had ever had.

Went with a group of friends. Small restaurant but the food and service were excellent. No alcohol licence but you can bring your own. They do serve soft drinks.

Had a takeaway from here, took over an hour and the food was bland, sauce was like water and genuinely poor quality/chicken used. Wouldn't recommend for the money, might as well pop into mccolls and get a microwave curry meal. (I am still convinced that is what we were provided)

In Bubwith for a wedding this weekend and underestimated how little there would be in the village. Nipped in here to get my daughter some tea and they didn’t have anything she would eat. Asked if they would just do her some chips and they refused point blank. The man wouldn’t even look at me and he stared in the other direction. There was no one in the restaurant and he could see I was desperate. I’m really sad to see that there’s people like that in the world. Wouldn’t recommend this horrible place!

Looking for a new local takeaway we had the Cinnamon recommended and decided to give it a go. Rather a long wait for the preparation due to how busy they were - not a bad thing - our meal was delicious. Rich sauces and very tasty. However, our meal was missing the poppadoms and pickles we had ordered. It was a 12 minute drive back, which I could do without on a Saturday night, so we left it.

I can't put into words how wonderful the food was that we had delivered from Cinnamon. We were staying nearby and ordered a meal and it was so delicious that we reordered again the next evening. The staff both on the phone and those who delivered were lovely. The food is excellent value for money and I cannot recommend it highly enough. We have booked to stay in the area again next year and we will defiantly be ordering again

Phoned for delivery waited two hours was told one hour, phoned again to ask where food was & was told very busy ,what do you want to do so said cancel the order. Very disappointed sorted out our meal & within twenty minutes knock on door & a very pleasant man with our order told him we had cancelled so he made a phone call & left with food. Won’t be using again so hungry

Recently had several takeaways from here whilst been away and all the was beautiful so tasty! couldn’t fault at all service was brilliant delivery was quick! Price was very reasonable, Best Indian food tried in a long time would recommend and return if in the area!

Returned here to find the experience is as good as ever and the quality and taste of the food remains fabulous. Despite it being a busy Friday evening with both diners and takeaways, the staff are always friendly and helpful. The service was just right with a pleasant gap between courses. The prawn sagwalla was simply superb and I look forward to trying it again. Overall a very enjoyable meal. Highly recommended.

Excellent quality of food, superb flavours and not over spiced so you could taste what you were eating. Really good value for money, good quantity of food and absolutely piping hot and well packaged so it remained so even after the trip back to our holiday lodge. Highly recommended.

We live in one of the neighbouring villages and this is our local Indian. We've had a couple of takeaways now and both have been really fresh and tasty. Even the poppadoms kept crisp! Will trying eating in next time.

Another fantastic meal. Great service and because you can take your own drinks it’s very good value. It’s only small so you do need to book and they don’t take cards. 5 of us all had a wonderful meal.

we ordered our first ever takeaway from cinnamon last night . we were extremely disappointed i ordered the kashmiri special and it was tasteless very bland no fruit at all and the chicken was rubbery and undercooked . My partners meal was also tasteless and very bland , for 2 meals we paid over £28 with all extras chips, rice, chappati and 2 starters . Ive felt unwell all day since and I'm afraid we will not be hurrying back anytime soon .

Visited Cinnamon on Saturday evening with family, although it is a very small restaurant ( with take away ) the food was spot on, highly recommend the ''Cinnamon Special''

We live locally, and have got from this place for over 4 years i think now. However, saturday nights meal....was not great.

We were staying locally and ordered a delivery which was very fast and was with us within 20 min. We had chicken pakora...onion bhaji...Chicken tikka bhuna...pilau rice...chips... garlic nan bread and a pickle tray. Everything was so tasty that I wish they would deliver to my home town but a bit to far away. I am only saying the follwing for feedback and not as a negative comment towards the Cinnamon...chips were not great, they were more like french fries[ thats just our opinion please dont let it put you off from ordering] also we recieved some poppadoms and more pickles...I would have liked the heads up that these were free and I could have not ordered the pickle tray [ perhaps add this info to the menu]. Having said this please dont be influenced by this as the food was amazing

Everything felt fresh, piping hot and gorgeous! We enjoy a takeaway from Cinnamon, but sitting in was even better! Helpful, friendly staff who couldn’t of helped more! Get yourself to Cinnamon!

Went here as a family of four. The room isn't the biggest, but the guys are very accommodating and make you feel at home. Nothing is too much bother for them. The food as absolutely top notch, portion sizes are generous and the quality is excellent. There's some different things on the menu such as the Hyderabady Curry (excellent) and a low calorie non fat option. Stuff is clearly made to order as we asked for different hotness to that on the menu and it was no bother. Plus, bring your own booze, so it makes it a very reasonably priced evening. We'll defo come back again.

We ordered a takeaway and had a very smooth experience, all ordered arrived, the food was well spiced and hot, the chicken chaat was excellent as was the mushroom dish. The takeaway is well situated in a place with little other choice but that has not diminished its quality or their service

Tiny little Indian restaurant in the village of Bubwith. Have had takeaway a few times but tonight ate in with friends. It's a very small unlicensed restaurant which means you can take your own drink which is an instant saving. The waiter tonight was delightful as are all the staff. The food is excellent. Probably the nicest food I have had in any Indian restaurant and good value as well. We will definitely be back!

This place delivers which is great ! However they are dreadful at delivering at the time they say which is usually at least an hour after you order ! The food is great but massively let down by their appalling delivery - won't be ordering again as just been told they have just set off at the time they said they'd deliver - will be at least another half an hour due to location so very dissatisfied and they have lost some good business

Started using this place when my previous favourite closed. Cinnamon is spot on really. Never had a sit down, always takeaways. Friendly, high quality, tasty, always helpful guys in there. Bottom line is I drive past another place to go here and will continue to do so.

Found this place on the main road through the village..mixed starter lovely and sizzling fresh .. murgh masala lovely and I tried also the madras which was lovely. Bring your own drinks but can be bought next door. Great and genuinely friendly service ....

Got stuck on Motorway by bad weather and traffic and it was late at night, so decided to call in for a takeaway. The staff were very polite, helpful and efficient and our order was taken and then prepared. After a short wait, our food was ready and we took it home. It tasted pretty good and the portions were excellent. The only reason that they dont get a five star review is because by the time we got home it wasnt too hot (Our fault, not theirs!!) which obviously affected the taste. So, in all honesty I couldnt tell if it deserved the last star. We will return to eat there and hopefully be able to award the missing star. PS Funnily enough, our neighbours were eating there when we arrived and they confirmed it was their favourite Indian restaurant in the area. Good enough for us!!

We have been fairly local for a number of years.I don't know why but I suppose iy might be the demise of it's main rival that resulted in trying this. To be fair I had heard good reports and a near 100% Trip Advisor record. It was great and excellent value for money and we shall go again and again and again !!!

Had a flyer through my door so thought I'd give it a go for a takeaway and ordered their chefs choice meal, medium to hot, at a averagish price of £11.95 Good comms on ordering. Food arrived well ahead of 40 minute estimate but first alarm came at £2.50 delivery from the next village, but I was really looking forward to some new tastes. Oh dear! The chicken Tikka starter tasted of cardboard. The main course, an unidentifiable meat dish was covered in greasy gee and very mild. A potato side dish was mush and the rice was like a strong aniseed ball. I called to discuss and was told "..ill tell the Man he's not here. That was itRubbish food and service. Use Route 66 near by

Took my Bangladeshi friends for a meal and they were amazed at the quality. They ordered Bangladeshi dishes that weren't even on the menu, and these were delivered without question.Small but very friendly and accommodating

We live close and just cannot stop going back. The food beats any Indian we have had in York, Leeds or elsewhere for that matter. The flavours are fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and welcoming.

Not surprising as we come at least once a month and know that what we're about to get will be amazingly good. Out of all the Indian restaurants that we've tried in and around York, Cinnamon remains our absolute favourite. The chef is a miracle worker, packing in so much flavour in every curry that he cooks. They all taste incredible. The service is excellent too, and we always get a very warm welcome and really well looked after. Just hope nothing changes as we plan to visit for many years to come!

We were staying locally, and a previous lodge guest had left a recommendation for takeaways from Cinnamon. They were spot on - it was superb! Exceptionally tasty, good quality meat and fresh ingredients. We would definitely use again when revisiting the area.

I've eaten here several times with my mates and everything about Cinnamon is superb. It's a small restaurant with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The staff are both friendly and very helpful. I've eaten various dishes here and it really is awesome. I've been to a few Indians in the Selby area and they all need to raise their game because Cinnamon is by far the best in terms of both the quality of food and customer service.

We were staying locally, and were hesitant about trying a village Indian restaurant, especially since we live in a city with a vast choice of eateries.There is a huge choice on the menu and the food is both fresh and beautifully spiced. The service was pretty good because we ate early - the waiter was great but had to dash off from time to time to deliver take aways, which could cause long delays if you are eating after about 8.

Our friends brought us here for my birthday treat and it really was a treat. Faultless food, utterly delicious and I love Indian food and eat it all over the place. This rates right at the top of any I have ever eaten. Flavoursome, lots of in my case, fish but all of us got plenty of delicious content in our dishes. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. No alcohol licence but taking our own was no real hardship as we were given bottle coolers, lovely glasses and it was opened and poured for us. This is a tiny restaurant so booking is essential. We booked and still got delayed as they were full when we arrived. Thank fully the weather was good so we walked down to the local pub for pre dinner drinks. Eating later than expected but we weren't made to feel rushed or unwelcome. Brisk trade in take away but most definitely an asset to the area, we will most definitely return.

Lovely Indian/Bangladeshi choices of food, huge selection too. All freshly cooked. Staff very friendly and courteous. Nothing to fault this place. You never feel rushed either. We live nearby and have had a few takeaways too, always to the same high standard, piping hot, fresh and friendly and polite delivery guys too. An asset to this small village. Well done to all at The Cinnamon...Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting the area.

Fantastic food, absolutely bargain price for the quality alone i would happily have paid more. Waiter very polite and didn't rush the customers. The restaurant comfy and clean not huge but enough room. Only reason i haven't given it 5 stars was due to a member of staff i assume the delivery driver sat in a corner using his mobile texting and mobile bleeping, quite off putting.

Whenever we get an Indian takeaway the child always want to go to cinnamon the food is excellent. Really friendly whenever we go to pick the food up.

It was the first time we had visited Cinnamon for a meal in the restaurant last night. The food and service are excellent and Ali is so helpful.Lovely informal atmosphere too, nothing to much trouble and not rushed to finish your meal.Would thoroughly recommend - especially the King Prawn Surprise ...yum yum!

I've been fortunate enough to be a regular receiving deliveries from this place for a long time and have always enjoyed the food. I was very impressed to see that the small restaurant maintains the excellent food quality with equally good service.

We live in Thorganby, and have heard many times from different people that we needed to visit. Not being too far from us we went on a Sat evening.The place is welcoming and very comfortable, with Indian music playing. Our waiter was perfectly attentive, polite, and gave us superb service.What was out of the ordinary though was the food. It was out of this world good. The starters were as good as you'd expect but the curries were flavoursome, authentic tasting and far tastier than any we've previously tried. I recall we proclaimed them to be probably the best we've tasted anywhere. The side of rice was better than what you receive in most places, having a unique texture and flavour. The naan was incredibly fresh and authentic. I couldn't fault this gastronomic delight one bit, and actually headed there now for our second visit.Ps. Don't be put off by the small eating area at this restaurant, its fine for enjoying the best Indian food you'll ever eat. We enjoy eating here and have tried many of the dishes. They are all lovely. Fetching your own alcohol is easy with two licensed shops within yards, plus it makes a cheaper bill. Great value for money and fantastic food and service.

We had a wonderful meal here the food was excellent the service good we thoroughly enjoyed it. Couple of things to note if you are going to visit is 1) bring cash with you they don't have card machines 2) make sure you book its quite small and fills fast 3) bring some booze with you if you want a drink there is a spar next door if you want to grab something locally.Definitely worth a visit if you are at the yellow top lodges.

We booked a table here for a Saturday night while stopping at the Yellowtop lodges in Foggathorpe. Although it's a tiny place don't be put off, it's one of the nicest Indian meals I've had! The restaurant doesn't have a license but does have a bring your own policy. My husband went to the Spar shop next door & bought himself some beer, I had a soft drink which they do serve. We both ordered a starter and were not disappointed, my onion Bhajis were cooked to perfection & served with a lovely side salad. For mains I ordered a chicken tikka biryani which I can honestly say is one of the nicest I've ever eaten, not greasy at all, plenty of chicken & the rice was perfect, my husband had a chefs special dish (name I can't recall) but it was divine along with a garlic naan. The food was lovely & hot (cold food is a bug bear of mine) the staff were friendly & attentive & we were made to feel very welcome. When the bill came it was a meagre £24! An absolute steal, although this restaurant is a good hours drive from our home I would 100% make that journey too eat here! Thank you for having us guys & rest assured we will be back!

We are so fortunate to have this Bangladeshi jewel in our village, not only is the food simply out of this world, the service is great too -Ali is a charmer & girls, if you like muscle -Mr Muscle will make your heart beat! - Lots of Regulars go several times a week, headed by Andy & Paula!, closely followed by Mr & Mrs Skipwith Phil, Blind John & Babs & a pair of squirills!...............dont miss out -get along & dont forget to take your own booze & no corkage charge

Wonderful. Very original and authentic dishes, with a very large choice on the menu. Food is served piping hot, the rices are delicious and the naans are to die for! Excellent variety of seafood dishes too, which is rare for an Indian. We have had take-away too, and the standard is of the same quality as the restaurant. Second to none, we won't go to any other Indian restaurant now. The staff are very polite and attentative, and it's always a bonus when you can take your own alcohol! N.b. Booking essential!!

Me and my wife Had a take away from Cinnamon on New Year's Day ( tonight ) and both meals were top quality. Easily one of the best take always in York.

We were staying a couple of miles down the road in a lodge, and decided to order a takeaway from here, it took about 25 mins to arrive which was ok, and was worth the wait, it was really tasty, we chose this because of the reviews on trip advisor and were not disappointed. Lots to choose from on the menu, and they even rang us back as the mobile reception was not that good.

We had a take away meal from Cinnamon whilst staying at the Still Rabbit lodge park up the road. To be fair we ordered at 6:30 on a Saturday night, but still had an hour and a half wait. Obviously this was a very popular restaurant. After the wait we were given a discount on our set meal for two, which seemed fair. But once we tasted the food the wait was more than worth it, everything was fantastic. All really well spiced, but not OTT, and great value at £20. Overall we were very impressed and would happily eat with cinnamon again.

We have eaten here a couple of times and the food has been lovely so we thought we would try a 'delivered' takeaway. We have had them three times now and each time the delivery time has got longer and certainly not been as they said it would. We have just had one which was supposed to take 45 mins. After nearly two hours and numerous phone calls we finally got our takeaway, which was absolutely delicious!! If the delivery service was improved I wouldn't hesitate in giving this an excellent review.

We had a very good meal here while staying up the road at "Still Rabbit" lodges. It is small ( and very easy to miss) but does have a car park at the back of the property. For a small place the menu is surprisingly large and varied , including many dishes exclusive to Cinnamon. The poppadums we had were fresh, warm and came with 4 excellent dips /sauces . To start we shared the "Cinnamon Sizzler" consisting of some very good Sheek kebabs, Chicken wings and chicken tikka served on a sizzling platter. For mains we had the "Cinnamon Special" , a Mixed tandoori sag , keema nan and house special Pilau rice. All were freshly cooked and very tasty , in fact there was so much food we struggled to finish it ... The whole meal came in at under £30 for the two of us , and you can take your own beer/ wine too . We were impressed and will definitely eat here again next time we are in that part of the world.

Small friendly family run restaurant, sometimes you have to wait a bit longer than anticipated... But it is well worth the wait!!! Everything on the menu has its own different taste and if you want something different they will accommodate you. 5 stars.

I don't usually review eateries - but this is worth a mention. We don't live locally but have eaten here several times. the food is consistently very good. The service is good, friendly and if you ask they will see if they can accommodate your requests.

Decided to return here and see if things had improved since our last visit and am pleased to say they have. The staff work hard to ensure every customer enjoys their food (including popping out to obtain some sparkling water one of our party requested). The cooking / service is still on the slow side but everything is made to order and this allows plenty of time to chat and 'recover' between courses. The food is very good with some amazing seafood dishes and the prices are very reasonable. Will now recommend to friends and family

What a wonderful meal. This restaurant is one of the best ones I've eaten in. If your looking for a great meat at a truly value for money price look no further. Although unlicensed you can take your own drinks and you don't get charged for using their glasses. Well worth a visit if your in the area.

At last a great eating place close by. After the first visit we have been back here several times. The staff are attentive, the curries are all great (no lumps of meat doused in a sauce at the last minute) - these are all beautifully prepared and cooked while you wait. Soft drinks are available and you take your own alcohol. The restraunt is on the ground floor of a small house so it is cosey - well worth a visit for the excellent food. Price reasonable and extensive menu - suits both vegetarians and meat eaters.

I must say im lucky, i live in the village & i go at least once a week! - the food is delicious, we dont like oil, so they cook it without. they use many fresh ingredients, much much better from other local places where its all powder chilli etc. The place is always welcoming & all the staff are great. The menu is extensive, but if not on, they will make it for you -nothing is ever too much trouble.I am a big curry lover & i must say this place equals the very best ive ever had, if not surpasses them.

Great food, though had to wait 25 mins.My lamb Achar was delicious and we could bring our own wine, bought from the shop next door, so it was cheap too!All 3 of us enjoyed it.

It has an extensive menu with some different from normal Indian restaurants. We chose this in particular as it delivered. It was delicious. It arrived hot. We were most certainly not disappointed

Decided to try this new Indian restaurant / takeaway following a mail drop in our town a short drive away. Booked in for a Saturday evening and arrived on time (good size car park to rear). The place was very busy with take away customers who, due to the size of the one room are forced to stand around looking at diners or sit at a dining table. We were met by a pleasant member of staff who offered us poppadoms while we chose from a very varied menu (lots of fish dishes). We declined the poppadoms but he delivered four to our table anyway, free of charge, as "you may have to wait a while".....And wait a while we did. The starters arrived after around twenty minutes but the mains then took a further forty five minutes. I accept it is all fresh food, cooked to order and that they were very busy but it was too long for me. The food, when it eventually arrived, was very good and my King Prawn Agni was delicious. On reflection, I will visit again, but may wait for the service to settle down first.
