We went to the lambing live event. The animals are undercover and the farmers are in and out every so often, no issues with welfare whatsoever. I would have thought that the farm would have set some seating up so that people are comfortable whilst waiting for the ewes to lamb. There are 20 animals due so the likelihood of actually seeing a birth is pretty slim, really. I feel like the event is a bit over- stated. The animal paddocks were closed so we couldn’t look around them unfortunately. Just a bit overpriced. The ice cream was delicious and they don’t do a bad coffee, but again, quite expensive.

The facility has potential but is currently appalling. Arranged to meet friend with her daughter (aged 3) Went into initial cafe which only had 2tables occupied - staff (4) were pleasant but talking amongst themselves. Went through to check if friend had gone through payment area - confronted by lady who persisted in saying her rote learnt …”have you booked, etc etc’ I repeatedly tried to politely interrupt to say I was just looking for my friend. This mature member of staff lacked any Emotional Intelligence. She repeated this protracted ‘rote learnt’ sales pitch when I eventually paid to enter. Fairy Trail, is exactly same as every Trail / be it Halloween, Christmas, Easter - so if you’ve been once, don’t bother going again. Design of trail and clues demonstrated lack of understanding of young children’s cognitive skills or general development. It got worse, when we went back to cafe - food menu very poor and limited - asked if they could do Beans on Toast - Girl on Till (4staff present) - said, “No”, I asked why, she said “People have asked before, the Kitchen says No”! To be honest, you don’t even need a kitchen - a toaster and a microwave would suffice. Essentially, a ‘couldn’t care less’ attitude. Lots of slip hazards, unnecessary mats +++ and hazards around facilities supposedly designed for young children. Lots of staff, poor training, not visible in key areas of activities.

Farm day out. Staff did nothing when two eight year olds ran into the baby and toddler soft play and knocked the little ones down. No sandwiches or affordable wraps available for under £10 so we had chips for lunch. Spent a few hours but quite expensive for what it is. Lovely new play area but already had some tween graffiti on it. They need to have more staff monitoring play as the zipwire was also getting abused.

We have visited the cafe many times with friends and family, each visit we have commented on the poor customer service of the male server that has been there a while. He is always miserable, will not let you change anything on the menu and is abrupt with his reply's, most of the time he says items are out of stock but you can tell it is just because he cannot be bothered to do them. The cafe serves some lovely food and desserts, it is a shame a staff member makes you not want to return.

This place need the rspca to go there. The animals are in a terrible condition. A pig collapsed and we had to cut short our time with the animals. This was supposed to be a fathers day outing, turned into a fathers day nightmare. Service in the cafe was just as bad. Staff too busy talking to both taking our order.

We visited for lunch and to introduce our friend to Churchfields ice cream. The menu available was totally unrecognisable from the one on the website with very limited choices. This needs rectifying However the food we chose was tasty, hot and served quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. The drinks were nice and hot too. The ice cream flavours seem more limited these days but were tasty

First time visiting and most likely the last time. Cafe was good. No issue here. Like many cafes it serves what you'd expect. However. On walking down a path to the left of the cafe, following other people, we came to a gate with a public access sign on it. As a group we chatted about having a walk and which path was the public right of way (there were multiple). At which point we were met by a member of staff abruptly saying "do you have wristbands". No was our reply. We were told you had to have wristbands to go into this area. I said but there is a public right of way here and what felt like very reluctantly the member of staff said yes and that we could use this path and go up the hill. We had a buggy so decided maybe this wasn't the best plan after all, now we knew which way we would need to go. A few moments later, still stood by the gate discussing our next move, we were called to by a chap once again mentioning wrist bands and did we want to buy them at the cafe/shop and go and see the lambs etc. We said no thanks and started making our way back towards the car park still trying to decide where we could go next. We just fancied a walk after having a hot drink and cake. I looked on their website again out of interest to see that the lamb barn closed at 4pm... now we were there at 3:30pm and told we could buy wristbands to see the lambs. I would assume this would be full price still. I've no doubt it's a nice little farm. But the way we were made to feel, as if we were trying to skip paying for something, really annoyed us. We'd just spent nearly £30 in the cafe and having never been here before just wanted to see where we could go for a walk.

My previous review (2014) was 5* and we've returned many times but not since March 2020. However a recent visit revealed this place has sadly changed beyond recognition. The menu is now just overpriced burgers and sandwiches etc. It's very commercial and no longer has the lovely farm atmosphere we used to enjoy. We won't be coming back.

The ice cream was at best mediocre and grossly overprice. In addition the gentleman, although there was nothing gentlemanly about his behaviour, taking orders and card payments would benefit from some intensive customer service skills training. However the young lady with long blond hoar actually serving the ice cream was delight and extremely helpful.

Please don’t waste your money on this place, it was £57 for 3 children and 2 adults to visit Santa! Santa was great and the gifts were really good! Circus men outside amazing kids loved every second! So we went to get some food £9.95 per burger !!!!! A burger that I could see were economy burgers from bookers! Priced at £10 a box! 😂 due to being a previous owner of a burger van there was no way on this planet I was paying that after paying the fee to get in! Staff were rude on the van! And the manager who let us in is very abrupt and didn’t look like she was in the right sort of mood to welcome family’s looking forward to seeing Santa! The fire pit was lovely but not much bigger than a bucket! Covid rules not met due to no masks worn by staff and public not asked to wear one! Very disorganised and a waste of money!! Just glad my children were none the wiser

Came for a family breakfast, and had the farmers breakfast ( basically a full English). The menu included a smaller version, breakfast baps, and what looked like a couple of decent veggie options. At £8.95 I was expecting a treat but in reality it was a very basic, fairly uninspired offering. The sausage was ok but on the dry side, the bacon was cold, and just a single hash brown. For the price, I would've expected maybe some fried bread or mushrooms or something else. It was ok, but not good value when nearby pubs do a much more hearty breakfast for less money. Most disappointing was the coffee - a very weak Americano and a flat white which was actually a latte, not a flat white by any description. The food service was fairly rapid but the drinks took a long time to arrive and came in dribs and drabs rather than all together. Overall, not a great breakfast and in my view, not good value.

Took the kids for t he first time today to do the pumpkin trail and have a pony ride, they absolutely loved the pony Rides and they had a really lovely time, I’d say it’s a great place to go to let the kids run around and have some fun and fresh air loads to do and big playground. It’s a shame though as the end was kind of ruined, the staff didn’t seem to friendly, we went to have a quick look at the ice cream flavours, they had special halloween flavours and the kids were deciding on a flavour when one of the staff told us we couldn’t stand there and we had to get in the queue..we were not in anyone’s way and weren’t even sure what we were going to order yet no you couldn’t see the flavours when you queue so I explained this and the gentleman asked us to move again into the queue and seemed to be cross so we ended up just leaving as we weren’t allowed to look at what we wanted therefore couldn’t order so we got a frosty service even without the ice cream! We up going to Tesco to buy Ben and Jerry’s which was delicious 😋

Unfortunately we were sat adjacent to a large door into the courtyard , something the staff, did not appreciate , as they continually left it open. Would suggest some staff training require. I often take my little boy here as it's great for kids and the ice cream is so yummy. However, the staff aren't very welcoming nor talkative!

Visited for the first time on Sunday afternoon for an ice cream. Waited half an hour for our sundae's to arrive after having to chase the staff. When the much anticipated Knickerbocker Glory arrived it was just vanilla ice cream with strawberry sauce and cream....

Visited with friends one afternoon. Rather disappointed as the place was full of very noisy, unruly children. There was a distinct "farm" smell and lots of flies in the restaurant which kept sitting on us and the food/table which was not very hygienic. Not a...

A lovely idea and great for kids. But they really need to sort out the staffing. It was not particularly crowded and the empty seats inside and out gave the impression that they had plenty of capacity. We ordered chicken and bacon club sandwiches which...

Visited James Martin Grill for a family birthday meal. Visited here a few years ago and it was awful so vowed never to return, but came back to give it another go since it has James Martin's name attached and he is our favourite TV chef. The evening started off terribly, with a miserable dark haird waitress who "greeted" us telling us abruptly to move outside because we were "in the way". However, there was no one in the entrance to greet us, and no sign to say "please wait here", so naturally you would enter the restaurant you have booked and expect a warm welcome. This isn't what we got and it set a very bad tone for the rest of the evening. Throughout the remainder of the night we had multiple waiters serving us, and no one looking after our table. They knew we were celebrating a birthday, but this was not acknowledged until right at the end after we had ordered desserts, when an additional dessert (so I now had 2 desserts) came out saying 'happy birthday'. This was very tokensitic, given we had already ordered our desserts and did not need an additional, and no effort had been made prior to this. There was no ambience, with no background music and the place felt rather echoey. None of the other customers appeared to be smiling, and none of the staff were smiling or making any effort with any of the tables. They all seemed to be stressed and rushing round, with food being dropped on the floor at one point. The food on the other hand was lovely, and we have no complaints of the food. We described it afterwards as "nice pub food". Definitely not worth the inflated prices you would expect in a luxury restaurant, especially with the awful service to go with it. Given this is marketed and priced as a luxury restaurant by a celebrity chef, this is not the service or experience one should be receiving. The bill came to around £500 for 4 people. We should have known better, as we know several others who visited and had a negative experience and did not recommend. I think they must rely on tourists who don't read reviews or come back - but it's a shame because locals will not be returning.

We booked the `Lygon in the hope that it would be an amazing Christmas lunch. How wrong were we. The champagne reception, never happened, as we were just shown to our table. We did get offered complimentary house red and white, but we're not offered...

After our 1st initial call to see if they would mind us booking a table for 20 people for a small informal wedding lunch, the staff couldn’t be more accommodating. We visited before the wedding as the lady (can’t remember her name; Sorry!) invited us to, to see where we would like to be seated and offered to dress the table for us. The lady then rang the week before to confirm final details and for us to bring in the decorations. On the day, the staff were inviting and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us all and truly made the experience memorable. We all ordered various items off the menu (20 of us), it all came out hot and together and the food was very tasty and wholesome. We all said we would be back. Thank you to the whole team.

My wife and I visited this pub one Sunday for dinner. Luckily they had one Sunday lunch left which my wife had. I had the steak which was cooked medium just as I had asked for.. delicious 😋 All in all the food served was delicious and the staff were very attentive. We live not too far away so we will definitely visit again soon.

Donuts look great! Pity they don’t do a smaller version too? Coffee and other drinks are ok. Range of toasties available but often sold out.
