Great atmosphere went on a Friday evening, team were attentive and the Guineas was great.

Called in for a drink on the Saturday evening, had a singer on, so we stayed for a few more, to enjoy the nightlife.

The Staff were really lovely and attentive to our needs. The main menu in my opinion had too many chicken/spicey dishes . I've been several times over the years to The Church and always enjoyed myself so you must be doing something right!

We had a impromptu night in the church. We sat outside and used the app to order. Kerry who served us most of the time was lovely. She went out of the way to make sure my daughter had the perfect hot chocolate. Might not seem much to many but made a big difference to us. Thank you Kerry hopefully see you again next time we come.

Lovely hot food 😋 only 1 complaint sorry we were going to purchase a take away meal from the menu but that wasn't possible no containers .That would benefit more customers.as its great food.

Great friendly place to visit and socialise. Without fail, on every visit Danielle, Joe, Zoe, Tom and all the staff are so welcoming and so willing to ensure your visit is an enjoyable one. Danielle obviously has such a good way in leading her staff and all work together so well. Even when it is busy Joe, Zoe, Tom and the team so willingly will take time to make those hot drinks…..hot chocolate 😁 for those designated drivers plus pouring the pints 😆. Nice to experience courtesy, respect and staff enjoying their work creating a lovely friendly relaxed environment 😁right good bunch, super pub to visit!!

A lovely afternoon celebrating birthday with my family . Some of us had food which was gorgeous! Sunday roast with beef was just perfect I would recommend anyone to try it . All service was fab, both from the bar and the food . Lovely atmosphere too - so much so that a couple of hours as planned turned into the rest of the evening ! We will be back !! We have just got back from Xmas dinner at the church. What a fantastic time we had. There were 14 of us. The food was great, the service was great. Cannot fault anything, other than it went to quickly. Really was a xmas to remember! I highly recommend the Church to anyone

We hadn’t been to our local pub for a long time as the quality, cooking, atmosphere had gone down. BUT! - we heard that it had greatly improved and after 2 recent visits we can confirm that this is so. We had the lunch menu and the steak sandwich is great - & with chips & a drink it’s a bargain buy. We also had starter beers - there’s a great selection of ales & lagers - all well-kept. The staff are so helpful & friendly and the pub is super- clean. Nice atmosphere & warm! Can’t fault it! We’ll be back there soon & have picked up the festive menu so we can book a pre-Christmas family meal. Thanks to all at the Church Inn.

We hadn’t been to The Church Inn for some years but we enjoyed the lunch which was low cost and simple but certainly value for money. The Church is not a modern ‘pub’ which is no bad thing, but the young barman was most welcoming. It was however very annoying that a regular customer who had two dogs allowed them to bark and bark, which was made our conversation extremely difficult. It was really disappointing that this lady owner of the dogs appeared unconcerned and that the Bar man did nothing. We won’t be back.

Me and my friend went their to watch Manchester United play Bayern Munich because we didn't have TNT channel so we thought even though we don't drink alcohol we can have our soft drinks and our tea then watch the game it was fantastic atmosphere and not to packed but the main thing you noticed was the service from the landlady and her staff they were on the ball all night and never stopped they were serving then collecting glasses and plates it was really noticeable how much effort they put in and all this was done with two meals for around £13.00 then a few soft drinks it was a cheap night and a enjoyable night the only problem was the football result united let us down but not the church inn brilliant and I cannot wait to do it again in two weeks time,thank you

Regularly watch the football and eat with the family in the Church. Management and whole team are really welcoming. Always a great atmosphere and serve great food and drinks. Would highly recommended!!

What a difference. We ate there about 2 years ago on a Sunday afternoon but there was not a great choice of food left. We had heard good things about the new landlady and decided to give it a try. Straight away we could tell we had made the right choice. From the warm friendly welcome to the recently updated menu, the place felt just like a pub should. We ordered a Sunday roast which was really impressive when it arrived, a chicken and ham pie which was also lovely. Our kids ordered of the children's menu but the portions were ample and their plates were clean at the end. Even when my son decided he needed a little bit of extra lettuce to make his burger perfect , his request was greeted with a smile and the lettuce arrived. The food was piping hot and tasty. The price made my pocket happy too. P/s you can download the greeneking app to get further reductions and a free first drink each! We left very happy and will definitely be returning.

Personally when exit the Church Inn I'm GUTTED because of the exemplary experience endured and very much look forward to my next encounter. I have never ever met dedicated / devoted staff they are literally on another level with their needs to make your stay an experience you will never forget especially the Landlady Danielle who ALWAYS goes that extra mile for ALL her customers. I came into the church in for the football the and the staff and atmosphere whilst the sports was on was actually great with good beer prices and lovely staff especially the woman who served me named Jessica .Would highly recommend this will be my go too pub for the sports and football now.

Booked a table for food last Saturday for 7pm. They had reserved a table, and when I arrived I said I had reserved a table "to eat here". I sat at the table for about 5 mins, went to the bar to order food and a drink, and was only then told there was an hour's wait for food!!! Why not tell me when I arrived, or even contact me before I arrived? I get it was a 'pay day rush', but it was one meal. I'll give this place one more chance when I'm up there in a month's time, but after that......

I came in with my boyfriend for a few drinks and was served by a lovely girl I think her name was Megan. Excellent service would definitely come again! She was so smiley it brightened my day. She asked if I wouldn’t mind leaving her a review, obviously I said yes.

I had a roast turkey dinner, the turkey taste burnt, the gravy was congealed I got lots of carrots, 1 brocoli head and 1 pea.hard roast potatoes. And a piece of stuffing that was like a brick. The company I was with. Everything they asked for they didn't have. Will never be going again. I think it must have changed hands since I was last there around 5 years ago.

Nice traditional (village) pub. Quiet area of Flixton village. Set back from main road, next to an old church and cemetery. Large sitting garden area under trees. Did not check out the food, so didn't give stars for that.

The church is a completely different place than last year !! All you get now is EXCELLENT service.. staff are fantastic Especially Maxine/ Jess and Lisa .. new landlady Danielle is doing a great job! Gone from the worst pub in urmston to the best!!! Food is fantastic too!! Keep it up :-)

Absolutely cannot thank the Land-lady (Danielle I think she’s called) & the team enough! Thank-you for accommodating my family in your pub. We are from oversea’s and decided to try this pub out. The vibe is amazing and you made us feel like home. The drinks were reasonably priced. We could’ve sat here all day, but we had to head off back home. Very busy, however, service was great, so are the staff! Thank-you again. Would definitely recommend and return in the foreseeable future! :)

First time me and the girls have been here. Great atmosphere and service. Only thing is they are really busy could do with another member of staff but highly recommend!!!

Told we couldn't order food whilst sat outside, even though it was only 2 bowls of chips, and 'landlady' extremely rude towards myself and my daughter whom had been ignored at the bar for 15 minutes whilst simply wanting to just buy a packet of crisps ! Get over yourself, no wonder the reputation of this establishment has fallen dramatically in recent times !!!!!! Clearly you need to address your attitude and lack of customer service skills. Absolutely disgusted with today's visit, try and learn from this feedback as I have been visiting for many years.......can't say I will be doing again though !!!!!!!

Oh God, this pains me. I lived locally to The Church for thirty years, only moving a couple of years ago and have been back sporadically for drinks since. But this is the first time in a long time that we'd had food. Take a look at the photo of the fish. Looks lovely doesn't it? The kind of battered fish you'd expect in any pub serving food. Well, that's a photo from a previous reviewer. What I got is so far removed from this photo it may as well have been a chicken. The fish that I had to wait 35 minutes to be served on a not at all busy night that I half suspect someone popped out to the Co-Op on Ambleside Road to get it was quite obviously just stuck in the oven. The chips, the amount of which I could count on three hands (if I had three hands) we're probably stuck in the oven next to them and the amount of mushy peas was closer to mushy pea. No tartare sauce. Overall a crushing disappointment. Further to this, my partner had a dressed salad that was so little dressed it could have been arrested under nudity laws. The staff remain as lovely as usual, except for the fact that chat that night seemed to be the first priority and service second. Like I said, painful to write. But memories don't excuse what I got.

Had the afters of our sons Christening here on a Saturday evening. Couldn’t have gone any better. We were allowed to come in early doors to set up decorations at 10:30am Saturday morning. Food was ready and out within 30mins of all family/friends arriving after the mass. Lovely selection of hot food and a great price too. We were told we could order more at any time too if we didn’t have enough but it was plenty! We had a group of 45 people and got the space of 2 rooms that lead into the main bar so it was a perfect space and there would be room for more . We were asked to move in to one room at 5:30/6pm which was no problem as the DJ & band were setting up! All the staff were so lovely and helpful throughout the night and very patient. Had absolutely no issues. We were only sorry we couldn’t stay longer for the band! Cosy environment and friendly staff. 10/10.

I am a regular in the church inn and have been for a long time and I would never go anywhere else! It is really a home from home with how welcoming and friendly the staff are. Such a lovely pub with amazing staff that cannot do enough for you.

We went for drinks and food in the holidays, and didn't book but the staff went out of the way to find us a table. The service was brilliant and food was lovely. We was looked after by a lovely blonde lady very bubbly and nothing was to much for her, thank you for making our visit a lovely one. We will be back soon

What a little gem the Church Inn is! We went in for a meal and the food was exceptional. I'm not sure what we were expecting, but what we got was a fantastic pub atmosphere, with friendly and efficient staff. Everyone was so happy and relaxed, that striking up a conversation with other customers and families having their meals in our area seemed to happen naturally. The food arrived quickly and was cooked well and hot. The staff ensured that we felt very taken care of. We'll certainly be going again!

From the moment we walked in the and we were handed a glass of Prosecco, the staff could not do enough for us. We were set up in a room that still allowed it to feel like an intimate family Christmas meal without the washing...
