Chunky chips in Test Valley

Avoid ! Fried chicken was raw in the middle and full of blood , threw in bin but had already ate some praying don’t get sick ! Lucky didn’t let baby eat anything !

The worst sausage & chips I e ever eaten, 1 star one too many, and I threw them in the bin. Chips burnt Rick hard and tasting of over used cheap oil. Sausage soaks and full of old disgusting tasting oil. They were also expensive, overall a total waste of money.

Tasty fish and chips at a pretty good price! We will definitely be ordering again! Great portions and had plenty of leftover chips. Ordered for collection and it was ready when I got there, as well as on a Sunday evening. Great customer service from staff.

Amazing! As a family we love the food from here, it always tastes very fresh and portion sizes are very generous. Staff are always friendly and very polite. I have also used Chunky Chips to cater for 3 separate community events, each event comprising of over 80 orders. I was so impressed with their efficiency. Each item was carefully labelled. Everyone commented on how good the food was and how it had remained hot. I would highly recommend them for larger orders (placed in advance). Thank you Gary, we are looking forward to our next event with you.

We often order on Wednesday for the Gluten Free options! Love the fish and the chips are always delicious. My husband is a huge fan of the doner. Staff is always friendly and happy to help. Highly recommend.

The lost overpriced disgusting food I’ve ever had. We binned the lot! I wonder if the chip fat is ever changed. I wonder if the potato’s are fresh as most of my chips were green! No amount of salt could save these. Stay clear!

Chips ok but veggie burger so cheap and nasty it was like a lump of mashed potato that someone had thrown in a fryer, no salad in the bun. Samosa was burnt. Cheese and onion fryit was greasy. Wouldn't recommend.

We just moved to the area and thought we would try out our local takeaway.... to say we were disappointed is an understatement. The chips were brown, the fish was tasteless. We will keep looking for a better fish n chip shop in the local area. It's a shame we will have to drive further afield but we will have to do what we can to avoid this place.

I moved to the area 6 months ago from Romsey where there is a couple of good F&C shops. I have now used this shop 5 times and I can say I will not be coming back. I have tried the Pie , the Sausage and the fish , I say fish as I have doubt it is cod. Not to say anything is being done wrong as I have been a fisherman for 30 years . All I can say is in the words below. The fillets arrive to shore frozen in boxes so the secondary buyers might not even know what type of fish they are buying. Indeed, the fraud can occur at any point down the line; the fisher, processor, distributor, and final seller can introduce fraud at any point. Right now, it is impossible to keep tabs on all of the fishing in the world. All I can say is of you are the owner and know what good F&C are then you know what you are eating and delivering.

Appalling Quality and disgusting wet batter , chips are bits .Fish was I would say not very fresh , it was off white . I last used this fish and chip outlet about 15 years ago , it has changed its name I believe several times , but it has also changed ownership . It’s in a prime trading position, serving an inferior product. Don’t waste your time or money , give it a wide berth .

I have been here many times, it has always been a little “hit and miss” this evening surpassed itself, the chips were dark brown, definitely in the fryer for too long and the large fish was the size of a fish finger. It wasn’t fresh, it had a amoneia taste and the texture was watery. £17.00 waste of money, not even my dogs would eat the fish.

I did not visit due to an accident. However, I ordered a delivery via Deliveroo. Excellent service! I ordered gluten free plaice chips and pea fritter. It arrived in 15 minutes, piping hot and the deliveroo rider Maria was charming. I am very impressed

Was staying a mile and a half away and fancied fish and chips . Was not disappointed in the slightest as a nice piece of haddock and chips were spot on. Would definitely recommend and can confirm it was all cooked fresh

I have used many local restaurants for gluten free fish and chips. Tonight (Wednesday) I ordered a large gf Haddock. The fish was fresh, meaty and cooked with a crispy tasty batter. In addition the price was among the lowest and therefore represented great value. On this experience I highly recommend.
