Chips and chicken balls were soggy and greasy, had to air fry to dry them out and crisp them up. Chicken balls were pink inside. Chow mein noodles were undercooked. Duck fried rice was soggy and stodgy.

Now , my go to Chinese Takeaway

Food was not nice at all. Threw the majority of it away

I always love eating here, the food is so yummy and the staff are so lovely. I especially love the chicken balls, spring rolls, samsosas and pork dishes :)

Update 11/06/24:- If you read my earlier reviews I could not praise Rickshaw enough BUT tonight's was shocking...... I asked for Satay sauce with my Chicken balls as always but recieved sweet and sour. The Satay sauce with the chicken starter was absolutely awful full of oil with no taste what so ever VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!@ Rickshaw you really surpassed yourself this evening!!!! Satay sauce to die for!! All food DELICIOUS 😋 AND delivered to Sherfield English within 20 minutes!! Please don't look at late night reviews just try for yourself really don't think you'll be disappointed. Another update:- We have always been very happy with Rickshaw food and service really didn't think you could improve the satay sauce but boy you did tonight!!! BEST satay EVER!!!!

Great Delivery and Great food! really yummy. Only thing is question is why put the cold cans in the same bag as the Hot food? Can was boiling mate.

Best Chinese in a long time arrived incredibly gast and everything cooked to perfection

Sweet & sour sauce had a chemical taste too it. Had to shred the duck yourself and was hardly anything there. Wouldn’t recommend.

Have always used Rickshaw, as found they were the one I liked the best and was so easy to order on Just Eat. Have just tried today and no longer on Just Eat, seems to be on Uber Eat and was unable to order as said they weren't taking orders, I won't be using them ever again

Please read the reviews before ordering. Spent £40 on a meal here with my husband and it was horrible. Spring rolls were inedible, soggy and floppy. Satay was not like anything I’d ever tasted and couldn’t eat. The chicken fried rice was clumpy and wings just didn’t taste right. It felt like it had all been warmed up in a microwave or heated very quickly as I have no idea how it can be out for delivery within 15mins. Impossible for it to be fresh and it didn’t taste fresh. We were staying in the area at the time for a family day out, so we had to put it in the bin as it tasted horrible and nobody wanted to risk getting unwell whilst we were away. Regret that we didn’t read the reviews on this place beforehand.

Very very greasy and tasted warmed up. Not the best. Very friendly staff though.

food arrived 15 mins early than requested, egg fried rice was edible, just lumps of dry reheated rice

We ordered fried rice that was clumpy and very salty the ribs were just bones with no meat on the sea weed wasn’t even crispy soggy chips we will not be ordering from here again and we tell people to stay away it’s obvious the food was microwaved to death when it arrived 15 mins after we ordered never ever buying from here again

Delivery was 30 mins early and now I no why, food is terrible, chicken like jelly, prawn toast (4 tiny pieces) for £4.50 was a joke, dry and tasteless . Do not order from this takeaway.

All great food and delivery apart from the chips they came soggy as sweated in plastic tub maybe a paper bag would be better but all was eaten n enjoyed otherwise

delivery was super quick, food was warm not hot, chow mein the chicken tasted funny, it seemed to be layers of noodles, then beansprouts and vegetables with meat put on top, all the top looked undercooked, it went straight in the bin, even my dog turned her nose up at the chicken from chow mein, the spicy prawns were a lot better I enjoyed those. but overall quite disappointing

The rice was chalky, chips soggy, chicken balls soggy. All in all the food was tasteless. Gone downhill since the last time we ordered.

it used too be really good but honestly disgusting I'm afraid.....egg fried rice was somehow burnt but yet soggy , chow mein also burnt, beef in black bean tasted of nothing but grease.....there's no way there tasting there own food ....get the old chef back sorted John 👌

Staying at the Premier Inn West and used Just Eat. What a great restaurant. Fast! 30 mins fast on a Tuesday and coming from Cornwall it's so nice to not have a meal ffull of salt or msg takeaway. I recommend giving it a try. I travel around and often try Chinese food, this was a great find! Chow Mein and soup were both excellent and tasted.great.

Prompt delivery which arrived earlier than expected which was appreciated as I was hungry! Mixed appetisers were nice but then I had the duck chow mein - not much flavour to it unfortunately and not hot on arrival. Hence average review l

Food is done very quickly- 5 mins from confirmation to collection text. It means that I don’t have much faith in the quality of the food. It tastes ok but you can tell that it’s cheap ingredients and everything suggests that it’s cheap and not particularly fresh.

We were cooking some other food as it made it difficult arriving 20 minutes early.

Not as good as other Chinese. Very vegetable heavy on the options and seaweed was extremely salty. The meat that was in the meals was a bit slimy.

DISAPPOINTING : First the good thing, customer service good, attentive, polite, friendly. Not so good the "pancake rolls", ... as I was hungry prior 2 seeing "The Addams family" @ the Plaza Theatre, just up the road. I thought, I'll give Rickshaw a go. Sadly, very disappointing. Although, the pancakes were nice & crispy ; in the core of the pancake it was COLD [in both of them], which put me off big time. I would have gone back 4 a takeaway, but knowing that the meat & prawns were not cooked, put me off. Someone needs 2 supervise the cooking of items 4 sale 2 the customers or they might end up being sued 4 food poisoning... such a shame.

I wouldn’t eat from here again, everything was wet and soggy. The curry sauce was a thick lump, the salt and pepper chips just just garlic chips that were soggy and inedible, missed bits off the order, the rice was hard - it just wasn’t very nice

Ordered and delivered within 20 minutes! Just Eat app predicted up to 55 minutes until delivery, friendly delivery driver appeared within 20 minutes! Needless to say happy customers 😀 Chow mein was a bit stodgy but still tasty and packed with plenty of meat.

Ordered at 5.45pm with an estimate of 1hr-1hr 20mins which would be expected on a Saturday night - food delivered 6.05pm, absolutely brilliant. Haven't ordered delivery from here although have collected previously but even that was a significant time ago. Have found it a bit meh previously but this time really hit the spot.

Very unimpressed. Aromatic duck was disgusting, no crispiness, weird flavour and lumps of slippery meat. Singapore noodles had a few prawns and chicken pieces, and about 5 peas, no peppers or other meat. Duck with fried rice was mostly fat and the grease strained my worktop! Go just a bit further down the road for a much better meal...

Probably the worst takeaway in Romsey. It's the only one on Just Eat, and they are super quick to deliver. But that's where the positives end. Just use Jade House and the Mandarin Chef for your Chinese takeaway needs, what's the point of the convenience of this takeaway when the food is so poor.

They are always our go to Chinese takeout best around us and love the chunks of onions in their curry……..lush!

Hardly any meat in any of the dishes. Satay chicken had hardly any chicken on the skewers and the sauce was runny with oil floating around on it. Very disappointing

Got a takeaway delivered and it tasted wrong. 3am was valiantly ill. bad food again.

Not my usual place but decided to try it, and was really happy with the food! And delivery was amazing I got my food within 15 minutes of my order! Would definitely get from again.

The food was great, the only problem was it wasn't until I finished my food I realised I was missing a few items I had ordered a mixed starter only not to have been given the seaweed and the sweet and sour sauce I was also missing a portion of egg fried rice as well. I will not be ordering again.

Well not sure where to start..... Will keep it short and sweet..... Food is awful, I have never had a worse Chinese, The food was not tasty at all, came in a plastic bag that was sweaty and wet all inside, every dish had a funny taste to it, almost like you are going to be I'll from it afterwards. The rice was very salty and bland, curry sauce was OK but when left for 10mins came out like a lump of jelly......disgusting...... Spring rolls, tastless and no real filling in them. Overall I would avoid this takeaway at all costs and I will never order from them again. Not a happy chappy here!!!

I’ve used rickshaw for years and always enjoyed it until this evening, rang to ask where my food was to be told it had been delivered, then was passed on to someone who said the driver didn’t know where I lived so they are now on the way, I questioned if I’d get cold food if the driver has clearly been out, I was told it was fresh, food showed up nearly cold, rang back to complain to still be told it’s fresh when it’s clearly not. Offered new which I refused as what I got was already half hour late, put my rice in the microwave, started to eat my chicken balls and the batter is grey, put me off the rest of my food. I won’t be ordering again.

Delivery was fast and driver very polite but food was awful. The duck was soggy not crispy and also swimming in grease. The chicken balls were the same so greasy you couldn’t eat them. And the satay sauce was like water so runny. We ended up binning most of the order .

Unbelievable…. Placed order at 840pm got notification it would be ready at 9pm , then at 847pm message saying order ready for collection! All food as described, hot, really tasty! Definitely order here, best in the area without a doubt, don’t be put off by the small shop front! Only downside, they close at 9pm😃

Very prompt service good food but NOT hot (despite being delivered only 120 yards from the premises). Ordered a chicken curry with out mushrooms which was supplied WITH mushrooms! Disappointed with a £3.50 delivery charge, 10p for a bag and a further 50p "service charge" on a bill which totaled more than £50.00

The food was good but I ordered 2 egg fried rice and there was no egg in either of them. Also a little disappointed that I paid £6+ for delivery and the food was cold on arrival.

Most of the order was as expected. However we ordered the pork chow mein…. What showed up was a bunch of dried noodles that were burnt with no pork in sight!

The crispy duck was very soggy and fatty, the chilli salted chips were also very soggy, the spring rolls were free alongside the order so can't complain too much and they were OK but definitely not fresh. Battered sausage was average taste, everything else was poor and definitely not worth £27
