Chicken chow mein was OK curry sauce was like water down and cold egg fried rice sorry but if you call yourself Chinese you should be ashamed of yourself.

Best Chinese in Gerrards Cross! Veggie fried dumplings are so yummy, they always leave me wanting more. Delivery is fast and service is always friendly. Would recommend this to everyone.

Don't order the beef chow mein. Tasted like I was eating plain beef with plain noodles. No taste whatsoever. I went back to ask for soya sauce packets to at least add something to make it edible....they don't have soya sauce packets. And they are a take out Chinese food restaurant!!!!!????

If you're looking for a good Chinese takeaway this is the place to go. The chicken balls I ordered were fried perfectly and were still crispy when I got home after a 20 minute walk. The owner is friendly and treats his regular customers with care.

The salt & pepper and sweet & sour Hong Kong style chicken are to die for! They even catered for my vegan sister. Delivery was super quick too. All round great takeaway.

Saturdays are so good for getting a Chinese from here - the boss says “40 mins” but actually the driver’s on your door within 20! Absolutely crazy! The salt and pepper chicken is the best I’ve had in my life. You have to try it.

So so rude!! When placing the order, I was told 35-45 minutes. When I called after 1 hour, was rudely told that they had said 45 mins! Nevermind that it was now over an hour!!! Manager said do you want the food or not???? After waiting so long I said yes as we were hungry! Eventually arrived after 1.1/4 hours. The bill wasn’t little, Some of the food was good, some inedible. Crispy chilli beef was like chewing on sticks so we gave up on that! The Singapore noodles were nice, the prawn balls tasted of banana?? All the fried food was over cooked and really brown. When I called to discuss and asked to speak to the manager, the person on the phone literally said, yeah, what do you want? I said I have a problem with this delivery, he replied with so what’s wrong, I started to say the crispy chilli beef was so tough and couldn’t be digested! He replied with, I know who you are, we sell 100s of this dish every day. If you don’t like it don’t come back! I’m nearly £50 down, have a bag of food we can’t digest and honestly thought I’d picked one of those comedy restaurants you go to to be abused. Order and dine here at your peril! I’m thinking of taking the food bag and dumping it there! If you like overcooked hard and chewy with every battered dish tasting like banana then go for your life!! Just had a thought! I think the banana flavour could be that the same batter is used for everything, prawn balls, banana fritters alike!!

I didn't even know there was a chinese food store this close - I usually order from the Malaysian place in CSG. Popped in after a long day's work with one of my mates, and we both order our usual chinese order, and the cashier said what I assumed was £17.70 in a strong Chinese accent. Sounds about right, so I tap my card, and I sit down. Moments later, I get a notification from my phone saying it was £22.20! But we got our food quickly and my sweet n sour chicken was cooked to perfection, so that's my only complaint. Just make sure to clarify the price before swiping any cards 😅

We have lived in the village for over 3 years and have had several takeaways from Chung Ying, delivered, and they have been really good. However, similar to 907pp's review, we had a terrible £39 meal recently. For some reason this was about £5.00 more than the prices in the takeaway menu that we had at home but I thought, oh well, its 2022, must have increased prices and menu is out of date!! When the food arrived and we started dishing up, the rib starters were dried out, the squid starters were like rubber, the Thai Chicken Red Curry was like water and bland tasting, the Singapore fried rice was bland, hardly any seasoning, the Mixed Seafood Sambal was also watery and bland, even the plain boiled rice was stodgy and lumpy. The only near acceptable item was the pancake roll starter!!! I phoned the restaurant and explained the issues, to be told "Can't understand....same chef. When did you eat it?" I said that we started to eat it as soon as we served it after delivery and then had the response"You got £5 off voucher, is voucher not in bag?" (We have never had food delivered with money off vouchers before) I said it was but that was not the issue, the food was really not good. Was then told "Ok, next time I give you some more discount", bye" Not a great experience and not one that we would take a chance on repeating !!!!!

Me & my family have been going to Chung Ying house for 20+ years we never had a problem until last night. I decided because this was so strange so I rang up and was told to come back I wouldn’t normally mind but we’re a disabled family and it takes a lot for me to walk down to the village. On the phone I was met with rudeness before I got to explain. Then in the shop I asked for a refund and the answer was ‘ You can’t try something & not like it’. The only reasons why I bought the food back is because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and the food had never been like this before. I asked again for a refund and was met with more aggressive accusations. My mother then came in and was ignored when he served another customer then continued to argue, then I asked again for my refund which his reply again was ‘ You can’t try something and bring it back’. He then proceeded to get £15 out of the till. I paid £28.50 for our meal and didn’t enjoy it at all. If I would of had a full refund I would of happily gone back. But the fact that I can’t come back when my food isn’t nice is honestly baffling! I do regret the argument, but I want people to know how badly we were treated by a popular member of our village.

My family and I have been strong customers of Chung Ying for almost 20 years! Wouldn't have it any other way. If you order delivery, the boss throws in extra free stuff <3 what a guy.

Good fast service even on a Saturday night. My main gripe is that the soup comes in a polystyrene cup with the lid sellotaped on. We had a delivery last week and the soup had leaked out and was in the bottom of the bag - that was a waste of £.

We have been buying our takeaway chinese food from Chung Ying House for many years and they never fail to deliver really good tasty food along with a nice welcome when telephoning your order and quick service.

We ordered take away from here the night we moved in to St Peter 16 years ago and have been coming ever since. The owner is a lovely man, the food very tasty and it is well priced. Never been disappointed and see no reason why anyone else would be.

Ordered from here twice now. First time was well below average - today was disgusting. The order was wrong, the owner rude, aggressive & confrontational and what it says on the menu is not what you get. I could rant for hours but just avoid at all costs. Please save your money and go hungry rather than order from here. I should have looked on here before hand. 3 out of 5 is pretty awful for trip advisor- and let’s face it, it shouldn’t be hard to get take away rice etc right!

We've been regulars for many years and the standard has been very high, and actually improved over the last few years, adding new super-tasty dim sum dishes. A few stand-outs are: deep fried king prawn dumplings, fillet steak Cantonese style, and crispy chilli beef.

My last 3 orders were missing items, which I had paid for. When I called the last time to complain, I was told I always say there's something missing and they had double checked the order and I was wrong. I had my flatmate check everything I had unpacked, and one item was definitely missing. I assume this is how they make a profit, charging for dishes they have no intention of delivering. I will never use them again and would suggest anyone considering doing so to go somewhere you actually get what you pay for....these people are basically thieves!

i see a few mid-range reviews for this place - if you are going to be picky then its not the most fantastic takeaway in the whole world but the food is consistent, fairly priced and tasty - just like any other chinese takeaway. if you are looking for some sort of gormet food and then give it 3 stars when you receive an average noodle dish then you are looking in the wrong place here. the owner is allways friendly to me and efficent at taking orders - also great fish tank.

The best Chinese cuisine I have ever tasted! It was fantastic. The staff is great, the food, the portions, the speed even the price! It was great! Will recommend and they make different cultural foods like Japanese noodles and Singapore noodles! If your looking for the best Asian food,this is the place to be.

We have been coming to Chung Ying House for our takeaways for years now and have always been satisfied up to recently. The last few takeaways have not been great at all. the prawn toast very dry, definitely have been reheated more than once. Chicken satay verging on undercooked, crispy seaweed extremely salty - and I like salt so that is saying something! Their standards have gone downhill. Saying that, the man that always serves has always been friendly. It needs to improve its standards. We will be going elsewhere for the time being until I hear they have upped their game.

We have food nearly every week it's the best Chinese around for miles. And they deliver or you come and collect the staff are all nice and helpful and the food is allways very good and very tasty.

The was a delivery order but I do not think mattered to the standard of the food as it was hot.

We order food from Chung Ying on a regular basis. The food quality is consistently good and the place is extremely clean. The service from the owner is of a very high standard. He is very friendly and extremely helpful too.

Horrible food and his attitude stinks!!. We now use kaya in chalfont st peter. You be lost a loyal and prepete customer.

Gran cantidad de comida ordenados para 5 personas. Cuando llegamos había un plato que falta (no para la primera vez que esto ha ocurrido). Al sonar para informar el dueño se negó a admitir el plato que faltaba y se convirtió en acusar nosotros por teléfono absusive de mentir para conseguir más comida. En leer otros comentarios este parece ser bastante común. Se uso en el futuro Golden River.

La calidad de la carne es buena, pero no hay mucho carácter o profundidad en la comida. Yo por desgracia no he encontrado un sitio localmente que pueden producir comida china genuinamente sabrosa. We have used this takeaway over the years because they deliver. It's average - curries are always a bit watery - but it's exactly what you expect for a delivery - I was going to say for a cheap and cheerful takeaway but it's not actually cheap - always arrives very quickly and the owner is friendly and throws in free prawn crackers - it's Aversge but if you are starving does the job

Not great quality but guy who owns it is lovely and delivery is quick. Depends what kind of Chinese you are looking for if you want authentic then not for you but if you want a quick chicken curry and chips yes it's fine.

we got the C4. set menu for four for six.they threw in the extra couple for us, so we had blinking plenty, with an additional vegan dish for Miss Chi. Everyone stuffed and without the MSG that we had come to expect. stuffed~with left overs for snacks

The food is at best just deep fried goop..... There may have been meat in there but the deep fried nature means you can't taste it, the chap serving was so rude , I go down the road to Mr Poons, it's expensive but excellent.Save your money and eat some anywhere else, it's s shame because there is a need for a good local Chinese.

We have ordered a few times as this is our local and sadly the food has been average to very poor. We order some 'crispy chicken in breadcrumbs' and it was clearly yesterdays and microwaved with hot damp outside and solid rubber in the middle, just nasty and it all went in the bin. Annoyed.

We usually use another takeaway in the village, but it was closed this particular evening, so we decided to try Chung Ying House and we were glad we did. The food was very good. Fresh, well cooked and we did not feel any of it was fast food. The portions were a very good size and we did not feel hungry for the rest of the evening. Also we did not need to get up in the night to drink water! We will definitely be back.

Not very good but then again both Chinese takeaways have gone right down hill in Peters over the years which is why i drive further afield nowadays to get a more decent takeaway + it's cheaper and it's roasting hot still when you get it home unlike the foods from takeaways in Peters. Sorry, don't recommend either and have lived in Peters over 40yrs.

For fast takeaway Chinese it's pretty good value for money.Alec, the gaffer is quite a character and very helpful.

Phoned to place an order, put on hold straight away. Gave address and told food will be with me in 45 minutes. 1hour later received a call to say they could not deliver my food if I want it I need to collect. Explained to the very rude lady on the other end of the phone, I can not collect. So she told me she will have to cancel the order. Asked to speak to the manager but her reply was " we don't have one" would never even consider using this restaurant ever again!!

I called to make an order and explained before I ordered that the last order I recived tasted microwaved.. The guy on phone was so rude and started shouting at me over.. He then said if you don't like service don't come back n hung up over the phone.. Shocking

A meal at the Chung ying house will fill you up so much as a UN care package delivering oats and water would; you should expect the same feeling. If you are searching for nourishment in order to survive then look no further for a colossal casserole of calories. However, if you are seeking to understand the reason for the exaltation of Chinese cuisine in western culture, I would recommend you keep on looking.

Live quite close to this restaurant and have tried a few times over the last few years hoping there would be an improvement. The owner is very friendly but really needs to focus on the quality of the food rather than quantity. Especially chicken dishes which are awful. Recently tried the duck which equally as bad. The chicken/ meat doesn't taste fresh and is rubbery. The owner needs to water palace in west Drayton to see how good food should taste. I would rather have less meat/ chicken but better quality. Food seems to be have made in a rush.I hope it improves because it would be nice to have a good Chinese in the area

I went here to get a takeaway in feb 2014 for my dads birthday. First we looked on the menu on their website and called in to order. When we go to collect, the price is £10 higher than what the website said it would be. So beware that online prices are cheaper than it is! We bought up this issue to a very friendly member of staff who said she would sort it. Other than that, it is good food for reasonable price. Only other issue is they left out one of the sauces that we had ordered. But we let that go seeing as the other food was good. I Reccomend the chicken balls!

Desperate for a late Sunday evening Chinese, we made enquiries with the Reception Team at the Bull Hotel &amp; decided to give Chung Ying House a try upon recommendation. Chung Ying House were instantly helpful &amp; friendly over the telephone &amp; they didn't hesitate to deliver to us at the Hotel, which was so convenient! The food was delivered within twenty (20) minutes of ordering, was well packaged, piping hot &amp; most importantly, absolutely delicious; particularly the barbecue spare ribs, primarily because they were so meaty. We would definitely recommend &amp; use again ourselves without hesitation!

Unlikely I will be ordering from them again, the food was not up to scratch for a takeaway. I Hope that you sort it out soon as I lover Chinese

I have lived in several places, but never have I been fortunate enough to have such a good takeaway close by. The standard of the food is as good as a decent Chinese restaurant, and the service is justifiably well regarded locally. I am always particularly charmed by the way the efficient and welcoming proprietor unfailingly gets my name wrong - he remembers it incorrectly but he does remember it, and I don't go there that often.I always think that prawn dishes give a good indication of the quality of a takeaway. A poor place will be stingy with only a handful of prawns and/or they will be dry and tasteless. Here they are plump, moist, tasty and very numerous, and rice is always fluffy and white.And though the prices may be a little more than some in nearby Uxbridge and Hillingdon (about £8 to £8.50 for a dish with egg fried rice), they are by no means high, and the quality more than justifies it.They also deliver quickly, and if you pick up you rarely have to wait more than 20 minutes, and often much less.

We often buy our Chinese take out here and really like the food. It's better than others for take outs and quality is great.

Great proprietor who has been there years and really knows his stuff (and golf!) . A very popular takeaway in the area and not surprising too. I nearly always go for a Chinese curry of some description "with extra crunchy onions" (a personal preference of mine). They never disappoint. Highly recommended.
