Depends who cooks the prawn noodles- Normally we travel to get these- a couple of times the noodles have been really dry and tasteless- sometimes one of the ladies always seems to forget our order and have to keep bugging them as to where it is- the seafood flake is banging- but lacks prawn- just a lot of mashed up Crabsticks with mayo and at now £8 a pot it’s getting f a bit too expensive- bobs however round the corner gives you plenty of prawns with your flake 🤫

Not often that I search to see if there is somewhere I can leave a review but my daughter and I were blown away by the quality and value of the seafood we bought earlier today from Chummy. My daughter had the octopus salad which is one of her ‘go tos’ and she said it was one of the best she has ever had and my crayfish were so fresh and delicious. Generous portions for the price too. I wish I lived nearer to Folkestone as I would be there weekly at least.

Hadn’t visited Folkestone for years - thought we would visit on a sunny early Sept Sunday …. Stumbled across chummys - we had 4 huge cooked prawns and a small mixed side salad whilst we waited for our cod and chips …. a big shout out for Donna and George today for their Folkestone harbourside seafood stall, especially the piping hot delicious sautéed giant prawns with (garlic & coriander) noodles, and sauces. The aroma of the cooking wafting across the harbour side brought waves of customers to view their very reasonably priced and fresh seafood dishes which we were lucky to find and enjoy. Well done to these ladies - who have been dishing out & delighting with their ever popular dishes for over 25 years! Thank you !!

Shocking - paid £16 for 2 portions of fish and chips. Chips were just frozen crinkle-cut ones straight out of a bag. And didn’t even taste cooked through, just warm and limp. The fish was the absolute pits. I think it may have been fresh once ... but it was hard to tell under the thick, claggy Yorkshire pudding style batter. As per the chips, fish didn’t taste like it had been fried at all. Just warmed through or even microwaved. The batter was creamy in parts and the whole thing was soggy. Utterly rank. Chucked both boxes in the bin after a few mouthfuls. Shame as we’d had such a nice walk along the Harbour Arm and seafront, but left Folkestone with (literally) a bad taste in our mouths.

Not even mentioning fish and chips not available, waiting time around 30 minutes with getting fish first and waiting another 10-15 minutes for chips. So if you fancy take part in this bizzare service and waiting 30 minutes for good but already cold food then go ahead. As a proud, mixed race, self professed intelligent guy, I came here with my black wife and mixed race children and received absolutely shocking service! Not only did the person serving have the gall to talk to me (she said something like "how can I help you sir" with what appeared to be a smile on her face, but she even went as far asking if we would like a little extra time??? I felt pressured in to ordering some fish and chips (I ordered a beer too) and I was left dumbfounded that she said thank you whilst taking money from my hand!!!And to top it all off, a few minutes later they had the sheer audacity to give us hot, freshly cooked food; in 2019 I was just left in utter disbelief that such a thing could happen. Not only was the food great, but I was left furious at just how nice a setting it was and we were forced to take an awful walk along the pier where there was a market and live music, totally unacceptable in this day and age! To the "educated" woman from London; please stay there in future and leave us simple seaside folk to enjoy great food, great people and great scenery.

At this large harbour-front seafood stall I had my first ever oyster. It was nowhere near as disgusting as I was expecting it to be so I immediately bought another to go with the prawns that I also had. At £1 each they were a fraction of what one would expect to pay in a restaurant.

We liked Folkestone harbour and this little stall is in an excellent spot. Food was great both to eat there (cockles, whelks etc and hot choices - we had prawn kebabs) and take away - we had a lovely fresh crab.

Chummy's is a part of Folkestone I'm sure everybody knows. A large bowl of Jellied ells is a must along with the chilly vinger. For those who are not sea food lovers there is a choice.

Chummys has always been here and I hope it always stays here. It’s the best seafood stall I’ve ever been to. I visit with my kids now and they love it too. The whelks are my favourite, muscles and prawns get the kids vote.

We've often enjoyed the hot Tiger prawns and noodles here which are only £4. In fact, we've had them on every visit to Folkkestone in recent times. They have been tastey and good value for money. Each dish was individually stir-fried in front of you.

Meat - great. The rest - average to poor. Not likely to go back. Not for this price.
