We came out for my birthday dinner. Myself, partner and 2 children. The waitress was beyond amazing, took our drinks order and was so quick! We ordered our food, I ordered a lot of sushi, my partner the lamb chops and both kids had the kids burgers. The lamb chops were tasty, the kids enjoyed the burgers but my goodness - the sushi was absolutely mind-blowing!!! I enjoy my sushi and have it regularly and this was the best sushi I’ve had in a long time!! I do not understand why this restaurant isn’t busier!!! They deserve to be busy all the time! If your nearby give them a chance!!!

It was nice and clean. We walked in and was greater by christine whi took our order. She was polite and welcoming. We ordered sea bass and Adana kebab. Which came both with rice and salad. We had some lovely flat bread and olives. We didn't have a starter or pudding because the main was enough but I know I could have gone for a pudding. The staff were pleasant and I would definitely recommend there. We also had a glass of Turkish Efes beer. If you want good turkish food this is the place to be. I will be returning soon.

I have gone here many times for Sunday lunch and last week I went with my MuminLaw, 11 year old daughter and myself to the Thursday night sizzle and steak night and it was a great price and it was wonderful to eat. The hosts are always friendly and the food was yummy. I have heard they are leaving the pub and I want to thank them for their service to food and the community over many years and I wish them lots of luck. But to the people out there go and try their food before they are gone, it is well worth the effort and the money.

What a real Gem!We visited on a Sunday for a carvery. The service was as alway very efficient. The social distance was in my opinion very well organised, but as always can't please everyone. The food is excellent, hot, extremely tasty, plenty of food & great quality. We always leave well satisfied, which to me is a mark of value for money. We have visited for most meals & we have never been disappointed.Hopefully Christopher will pull through the current situation & resume business later this year. All the staff are very professional, polite, & courteousWe are looking forward to our next visit.

My hubby and i were going to try the restaurant out for the first time since it reopened after lockdown. We had been many times in the past and very much enjoyed our carvery there. Having been assurede when i enquired that they had taken all the Covid precautions, we came along. Firstly the car park was full, and we were surprised given that in theory it shouldnt have been , as we had been told there were less tables all socially distanced, therefore should have been fewer customers. We did park eventually, then walked in to the restaurant. It was heaving, with many people milling about , a long queue at the carvery counter intruding almost into tthe bar area, with the customers all bunched up and no social distancing,. We observed around us and felt that the dining tables were too close together. Sadly we decided not to stay, and we came away.It felt very dissappointing as we had previously enjoyed our times there, but we will not be going back if this is the precedent as to how it is set out. We have emailed the restaurant to ask for their coments but have not as yet received a response.

Excellent food and good service. We had a lovely evening and will definitely be booking again. I would highly recommend the seafood Risotto. There are plenty of choices for non meat lovers which is great.

We came here with the intention of having a nice meal, having read the reviews it seemed a good choice, however on arriving the chef/ cook was standing in the main entrance in his chef whites smoking, very off putting, needless to say we we went elsewhere, please have a chat with the chef it really does not set a good impression.

I had a standard room when I stayed there on my tod. A basic room with a basin, single bed, tv, chair, kettle, tea/coffee, towels and a decent bunch of pillows. The mattress was godawful uncomfortable with the springs digging into me. Fortunately I was able to lie on the surplus pillows and that solved the discomfort part and a decent night's sleep was had. Ideally, better mattresses in those rooms or a serious quality topper.Showers are down the hallway for occupants of these rooms. They're electric showers and are ok, although the sprayhead on the one I used needed some serious descaler attention for it to be able to do its job properly.Staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant does good food. Breakfast was also decent. Bar prices aren't bad either. If you are going to be back after the bar is closed in the evening you need to arrange that beforehand, otherwise you'll be on the wrong side of a locked door and something of a problem. You'll get issued with a card with a number on it to call the duty manager who will appear and unlock for you. None of the doorbells work.On balance, ok to good.

Our family (10 of us) had Sunday lunch at Christopher's a couple of weeks ago. We had a fabulous 3 course carvery for less than a tenner each. The meat which was well-cooked, tasty and plentiful. It was beef, turkey or pork, or any combination. The service was quick and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Dropped in at 8.30 pm on a Friday for a family meal. Lovely food (chicken balti was fabulous along with the lasagne) and very welcoming and polite staff (gave the kids a "not asked for" ice cream after their meal, happy kids). Best pub food we've enjoyed in ages. Highly recommended.

We have been going to the Swan for a few years now, this evening I went with my wife and daughter, we ordered or food from the very friendly staff when we received it the chips were well done as asked for but they had gone very crispy, the mushy peas tasted burnt, my wife aske for her peas to be replaced and they were, she also asked if the chips had been made with new potatoes as the were very crisp, they told us they were, we have had very little to complain about on our visits to this eatery, but when I paid the bill I was told by the bar staff that it might be better if we ate somewhere else in the future as we seemed to be always complaining when we went to ear there, in the past I have recommended this place to many people but no longer, I was told by the manageress after my daughter and wife had heated words with the staff we were told to try the White House, very nice I thought and from now on I will, what a load of fuss over some chips and mushy peas I really am lost for words and they have lost our custom. be warned do not complain here as you will no doubt be told to eat elsewhere

My parents booked their 60th wedding anniversary at Christophers Restaurant, which is located within the Swan Hotel. It was also my Dads brothers 60th wedding anniversary, so a double celebration. Chris has got an extension on the back of the hotel and it proved to be an excellent choice of venue. It was very roomy, easily accommodating about 60 people, and was laid out very well. My parents chose a curry meal, which also came with chilli, along with a cold buffet. All the food was very well cooked and the curry has to be one of the best I've ever tasted. The staff took the anniversary cake into the kitchen and cut it up for the guests, were very quick to remove any dirty crockery and cutlery, and on the whole they were excellent. They were very attentive all evening, which added to the enjoyment of the occasion. Thank you to Chris and his staff for a memorable evening.

Sunday carvery is one to AVOID. Very poor quality cheap food, portion size does not represent value for money. The food is only warm, soggy overcooked vegetables and poorly roasted roast potatoes. This really is in my opinion the worst carvery in Telford! Avoid! When issue raised with waitresses they were rude so rude we asked for the chef who basically referred to us as ungrateful? We had paid over the odds to eat a sub standard meal then be insulted by two members of staff and then the chef. We didn't finish and left. Money wasted!

We went out for a sunday carvey with our friends. we was disappointed that this was the only meals they did on this day. The chef lack of hygiene needs to improve dirty fingernails touching things on the carvery where are the gloves? The meal itself was average thick slice of meat, undercooked veg and pototoes, felt as if we were being rushed to eat our meal. When we went to bar service was slow we felt they were uninterested? We have been before the place must be under new managament doubt we will be back soon.

Visited with my mum as a get together for a meal. She picked here and I must say I was impressed. We had 3 courses with so much choice and a carvery for 8.95. There is about 10 starters and desserts to choose from. Soup to melon, brownie to bananna split there is plenty of choice and variety. Staff are attentive and bring you each course quickly but without making you feel rushed. Drinks are well priced and football available in the bar to have a quick check of. Overall a nice venue and great value.

My wife and I popped in for a meal must say the carvery meal was very good, the staff were friendly but noisy, in fact it's not a place to go for a quiet meal, the background music was loud and people were having to talk over that. the decor needs tidying up a lot, and softer lighting not a place to go for a quiet meal with your loved one, ideal if you want to eat and go.

This was much better than normal pub food. We had homemade lasagne with new potatoes and vegetables, and homemade Cottage pie with homemade chips. All delicious. The service was the fastest I have ever experienced - no sooner had we ordered it than it arrived at the table, piping hot. Only criticisms: they did not have any tomato juice, rather surprising for a pub. And a tonic water with ice and lemon is rather expensive at £1.60. Nonetheless, we would visit again.

Happened to see the sign advertising Carvery Night on Wednesday and Friday as we were driving by. Plenty of seating available and having got drinks from the bar, we were quickly served at the carvery. There was choice of beef or turkey and portions were most generous. We were served with roast potatoes, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding before helping ourselves to a good selection of vegetables and sauces. We would struggle to find better value and enjoyed every mouthful. They deserved more customers than were in during our visit.

Given that there are only 3 reviews for this place I could have decided not to go in on the basis of the one done in 2013 but I didn't, and i'm glad about that. From the moment i walked in I was made to feel welcome by every member of staff that I encountered and all of them seemed very happy in their work, a good sign of how a restaurant is run. I didn't want to eat the Wednesday roast special, unlike the other 70 or so people eating there and was expecting to be disappointed by being told that that was all that was available that night but it wasn't and i was offered a full menu to decide over. In yhe end o had a 16oz T-Bone at a very reasonable £15.95. A 32oz is also available at £22.95 and for the right atomach i doubt you'd be disappointed but it wasn't for me and the 16oz was perfect. If anything there was too much on my plate, something i've never raised before, but there really was . Aside from the massive steak there were the usual accompiaments of chips, mushrooms, onion rings, tomato, salad and a lovely peppercorn sauce to finish it off, which sadly i couldn't. There was just too much, which is a good thing!i don't normally write reviews but it would have been wrong to not give this place one after the meal i have had so hopefully this will.do it some deserved justice. You won't go wrong by visiting this place if your in the area. And if you do enjoy the food as much as i have then maybe you too could add a reviewbso that word gets around.Oh if you care about the hygiene rating before you eat then they have a 5 in that too so you should have all your needs catered for.Happy Eating!Andy

we went to Christopher's , this will sound terrible because another restaurant let us down at the last minute. A member of staff , Peter? fitted us into a nice table for four and took into account extra legroom needed for my husband who is disabled. Three courses only £8.95 so real value for money. Price does not compromise the quality of the meats and vegetables on offer. Lovely roast pork, and proper knobbly home made Yorkshire's. Busy with families so if you don't like to be around children (who were all very well behaved) you may want to book somewhere else . We will be going back

The staff just don't seem to care. The bar service was awful with regular customers being served before we were, even though it was obvious we were next!. We decided not to eat there after a family of 4 complained about the food being inedible and the manager told them he would call the police! Now, the family were more than willing to pay for the food that they could eat, but the manager got really stroppy and called the law anyway!,the police turned up (im sure they have far more pressing things to do!) and said that the Swan were wasting there time and because the family were willing to pay for what could be eaten, they were more than in there rights to just walk out and let the Swan persue them through a civil case. The Swan offered to nock £3 of the the bill!!! The family paid up,they seemed a really decent bunch but I don't think they will ever set foot in there again and nor will we. Just don't go there!!!

Arrived just before the booked time and ordered as soon as the server was ready. It was more than an hour before our food arrived, the staff choosing to serve, before us, a group that arrived well after us. The staff did say sorry (and then had a moan about his working hours) but no complimentary coffee or reduction off the bill was offered by way of apology. The food was okay. Shame, as it's our local and would put more custom their way if the service was acceptable.
