Order chicken tikka masala it was swimming in water called back up the owner said we can give me 50% off next time nice of him but I think I will order somewhere else

2.5 hours to be delivered then arrived cold

I normally love the food but this time it wasn't great. Ordered veg vindaloo and it was more like hot curry paste than a rich savoury sauce. Iv had better. But I'll still order from then again.

I got a take away, well what can I say except it was the worse Indian I’ve ever had, everything was dripping in grease even the rice, my curry tasted like chicken in gravy, it was cold had literally 2 bites then chucked the whole lot in the bin. Keep your money in your pocket. Waste of food & money. Was sick later on as well. How this is Brighton's best Indian is incomprehensible 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮

Read about Chowringhee's recent award-winning food and was excited to try. Midweek takeaway delivered promptly and with a smiling delivery driver, food still hot, and the cooking with honestly so good. Clean, tasty, fragrant, spice levels perfect. Best chicken tikka biriani, vegetable korma and saag also I've ever had. Peshwari naan was decent and they gave us an extra rice by accident (which became a lovely egg fried rice the next day!). To too it off, 20% off on JustEat meant this was a very fairly priced dinner. 5 stars and I will definitely be ordering again! Thank you Chowringhee

Food never arrived when saying delivered. Hour and half late

hard, solid in parts, burnt in parts, dry cheese naan. flavourless meals. extremely disappointed in what has on every previous occasion been excellent.

It was cold. We order often and it’s always cold. It’s as if they are pre portioned and thrown in the microwave. The curry house is at the end of the road. How can it be cold. The naan was cold and it was very disappointing.

Lovely tasting food. Disappointing mixed grill starter though, 3 small cubes of tandoori meat for £5.95 is terrible value.

i ordered through uber eats and they called me shouting at me for my address and i kept telling them my address and the man started spelling out the word road to me asking for the road name as i was telling him the road name and then said they cant deliver there so i said thats fine. 20 mins later they refused to cancel the order and when i called them they shouted at me again and then hung up on me. i dont recommend this place unless you want to get verbally assaulted and witness daylight robbery, then in that case i 10/10 recommend this place. 6 hours later i still have not recieved the refund and i dont believe i am ever going to. bossman on the phone called me an ableist slur then hung up.

I had heard really good things anout this restaurant from people with reliable palates. Food: We went on a Sunday evening and everything was fine until I took a forkful of my Chicken Xacuti. Instrad of the expected garlic, coconut flavour underpinned by a good range of spices, it tasted entirely of mustard: what you might expect if ordering Lapin Moutarde. The sauces in both curries was congealed from spending too long in the microwave. Rice, naan were fine and the side dishes were cooked well enough but tasted as if the cook had forgotten to put any spices in. Atmosphere: Whilst we were eating, the owner was on the telephone talking in great detail about a problem with blocked toilets somewhere in the building. I would usually send poorly-made food back but it had been a tiring weekend and given the owner's disregard by talking about human waste related health issues all through our meal, I didn't. We just paid and left. My companion didn't finish her food; the takeout went into the bin the following day. Very disappointing. I find it extremely hard to believe whoever cooked our meal had won at the Curry Life Awards.

Of all the Indian Takeaway's I've tried around Brighton, this is by far one of the best!! Swift Delivery, very polite driver and the food was hot and very tasty, good sized portions too.. definitely recommend and will order again

Food was cold and Chicken Shaslik was missed off

My goodness where do I start here. I ordered a balti dish of which, on the menu, clearly states served with Nan bread. I didn’t receive the bread, called the restaurant who stated I didn’t order a bread. No I ordered a balti that comes with a bread!! It’s comical dealing with the restaurant and just eat who clearly do not understand the menu content. I didn’t want recompense, just acknowledgement that I should have received what I ordered. Disgraceful customer service all round. No not order!!!

Delivered to the wrong address - but it was quickly resolved once I called to enquire after which the order arrived quickly and hot. They took action to resolve the issue and calm our frustrations.

Exceptional curry delivered in rapid time will definitely order again.

Ordered online at 7.08pm with a promised delivery time of MAXIMUM 30 minutes so latest arrival by 7.38pm. 7.55pm came, I called to follow up and was told it would be with me soon. 8.40pm comes. Still no curry. Takes 28 times to try and get through on the phone to be told they're not sure what happened and they will send it again. Still waiting now at nearly 9pm almost 2 hours after I originally placed the order. Food isn't even that special having eaten their food before. I ordered from them because I thought it would be the quickest option as I live 10 mins drive up the road. Really disappointing and really no excuse. I would have expected a refund as well as my curry being sent. Who knows, I might be waiting for the rest of my life at this rate. Maybe place your order a week before you actually want to eat it and then you might be satisfied.

The most perfect Indian meal. Fabulous staff, deliciously spiced Prawn Dish, Poppadoms and Chutneys. Brighton folk go to this excellent restaurant. You will not regret it!!! A worthy winner of Best Curry House in Sussex.

The food is good and good value for money, but they didn’t offer many dishes that you cannot get elsewhere. The restaurant was very busy, so service was understandably slow, but they were courteous and polite. The only issue I had was that it was very noisy, enough that it was difficult to hold a conversation.

Really friendly delivery, kind staff, good was great. Enjoyed the matar paneer and veggie masala. Great portion sizes and lovely flavours. Will order again! :-)

Naan bread missing from tandoori mixed grill. Poppadoms were soft. Tasted stale. Overall, very bland.

I found Chowringhee the most complete and easy to use ordering web site,and. Not knowing too.much about Indian food my choices turned out to be delicious. I recommend them.

Ordered as a first time customer nearly £40 worth of food. Despite a very loud background noise on the phone (i kinda get it, friday night, you're busy) Had a lovely chat on the phone with the lady who took my order, she recommended me some dishes. When it arrived the driver, who was clearly in a rush, dropped a greasy bag at my feet that had clearly fallen over inside the vehicle. There was items missing from the order and when asked where they were, he said i hadn't ordered them. when asked if i could get them, i was told very rude and abruptly "no", he apparently had 3 other deliveries to attend to. He knocked very loudly again about 20 seconds later, and then i got 2 phone calls, (presumably from the manager), begging me to take the food and the missing items. no offer of a discount, some kind of sweetener, but most importantly, no apology. nothing. There was also a 10% discount cash order that wasn't put on the order that never materialised. i know i ordered the coke, because i asked for the order total at the end of the phone call, and then added it up after the fact. Absolutely APPALLING customer service, for which this made me feel uncomfortable accepting the food. Absolutely will not be ordering from there again, and will be telling friends & family to avoid like the plague.

Their food taste is 10 out of 10. Quality was awesome 🔥🔥. Stuff are so friendly.

After 1 hour I was called to say it would be another 25-30 minutes then it was another hour so I rang them up and it was another 20 minutes. It was marked as delivered after about 40 minutes incorrectly.

We had a delivery, based on a recommendation. It's 100% the best Indian take out I've had in Brighton. Better flavours, less greasy. And really tender lamb.... so often it's chewy gristle. This is my new 'go to'

The worst tikka masala on earth 🌏 Why? Red sugar sauce, no kick, coconut and dead bland. This is not a curry! It’s a dish hard to swallow! Do not waste your money you will sit hungry on the table 👎🏻 £30 pounds wasted!

It was not the delivery time it was the rudeness of the person from the restaurant, he was not willing to drive to the back entrance and chose to park in John Street and then expected me to go down three flights of stairs and then back up three flights of stairs to collect the food order from them ! He then said he would bring the order to the flat door as all other delivery people do but he then gave me a bad look when he passed the bag to me ! We wont be ordering again from Chowringhee which is a shame as the food was expensive but nice ! The cost for delivery was £3 with no customer service whatsoever...

Fantastic tasty dishes. I did receive far too much rice as on the just eat site it is not clear that they all the main dishes come with a side of rice or a naan. With my extra unnecessary order of rice sundries I will be eating rice for the next few days! Great perfectly spiced Indian foods.

We have ordered from Chowringhee 4 times after switching from another local takeaway. We were initially very impressed, quick service and great flavours. Unfortunately, last night we ordered a prawn dish as part of our order and I immediately tasted that the prawns were off. My partner tried some and agreed. We could smell that the prawns were off / old. I called Chowringhee and they were apologetic, however unable to offer a refund because we ordered through Just Eat. They have advised that next time we order they will deduct the cost of the prawns main from our order. I don’t think that this is an adequate response given the very real risk of poisoning. It’s also left me questioning how fresh the ingredients are given that orders are prepared so quickly. I would expect the entire order to be refunded as it really put us off the rest of our meal and the sauce had mixed with other items on the plate. Maybe this was just a one off and we may try again in future given the previous good meals but it has definitely put us off ordering seafood dishes from here.

Got a mixed grill from them tonight!! OMG, I’ll never go anywhere else from now on. Bloody lovely and two pots of the mint sauce that you never get enough of from other places. Well worth going or ordering from here

Superb service, really attentive and the food was fantastic! Atmosphere was hard to judge as we went very early at 5.30 before anyone else came in. However on leaving the place was full. Assuming for Iftar. Best place to eat definitely.

I ordered masala grilled tilapia and usually curry - butter chicken. This time came with 1 box of rice. The taste of butter chicken was nice as usual. And first time I tried tilapia, it was good, not spicy at all. It was plain actually. I would recommend this restaurant!!

Cold upon arrival ..as we live around the corner was disappointing …..Great taste and flavour but the naga garlic was less naga and just hot ..easy eating and not that lovely naga heat I have had before so slightly disappointed

Quality always good at this place

I ordered my favourite Chicken Khorma. And I tried paneer bhuna, it was nice. Both of them weren't spicy and came with rice. Paneer Bhuna was a bit plain. I would recommend Chicken Khorma as a popular one.

Worked as a delivery driver years ago when it was sri india and the food was always good. It is still excellent, always my go to indian place

Lamb madras and onion bhajis excellent, rice good Kulcha naan was wet, soggy and undercooked. All the food was lukewarm. After warming up the curry and rice plus air frying the naan bread I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

High quality food. I prefer to order breads and rice separately rather than have them included with each dish, that's only my preference not a criticism.

I was always ordering Indian food here. They are the best among other competitive restaurants. I have been dined in and take away. But I like to take away and collect. The curry I was ordered this time, they were Balti and korma. They were really nice. It came with nan and rice. The Lamb balti was fine, but I don't like that they put the kebab in. The chicken tikka korma was nice. I plan to order here again and try another menu.

Quality seems not quite as good recently. I can't put my finger on why. It usually arrives way too quickly to be cooked fresh. Baltis are advertised as coming with a naan, but don't, then I had someone call me and argue with me about it. Shame because this place used to be 5 star.

This is a positive review. We initially received the wrong order. This was replaced - I did sense that two replacement orders had been sent as a driver from Just Eat, and a chap from the restaurant arrived at the same time. Food was great, but delivery a touch chaotic. However, they did sort things out, so well done and thank you.

Vindaloo curry was very spicy but nice. I ordered it to remind me when I was staying in India. And it was the first time I ordered Nepali food. I don't think I like it. It was so spicy. But it was good to try. x

My favourite indian food is butter chicken. I have it with rice or paratha. The food is nice taste. Pick-up time was quick. Friendly staff. I reorder it many times in the past.

I like paneer and pasanda curry. They were very nice. The curry came with rice per serve. Great taste and quality. Recommended.
