The best restaurant in Manchester. Highly recommended.

I loved this place, highest quality food, we got a mixture of mix kebab, lamb Shank, dupiaza and mantoo to share amongst us and it genuinely was one of the best dinning experinces we had. Well done to the owner Farsh and his team.

It was a true marvel, the food was magnificent and it was filling. It came out fast and hot and the atmosphere was delightful. Overall a 10/10 and will definitely come again.

Absolutely horrendous customer service. I called to book a table and my number was private as I was using my phone for work and I forgot to change it back. The person on the end of the line very condescendingly told me I need to call back on a normal number tomorrow at 1 pm. English is my first language and I am a grown adult, absolutely no need to talk down to me with a condescending tone. The person on the end of the line then hung up when I called him out on his tone This is the second time I have tried to book a table and encountered a mannerless person at the end of the phone. I cant comment on the food perhaps its great but the customer service on the phone is aweful.

A hidden gem for Persian and Afghani food, a must try! My favourite dish is the qabli polo Succulent lamb shank and delicious flavours

Food is tasty. Seems the are using JJ Foods lamb shanks (Meat from New Zealand ). The white drink also very tasty. And mixed grill. Cards payments not accepted.

Lovely intimate setting pre-book if you are a large group. I would say it's a bit if a hidden gem of the area. Portion size is great and tastes great, have to recommend the lamb shank. It's is cash only unless you are a very large group.

Absolutely amazing. The staff welcoming and friendly eager to explain the menu and talk through it. You wouldn’t expect it where it’s located truly a hidden gem. The food is aromatic and delicious the portions are pretty big for what you pay for. My go to place for craving authentic food.😊

Unnecessarily expensive, £40 for a mixed grill

If you you get claustrophobic then perhaps you need one of the other chains. This place even with it being extended is worth a trial. Food is consistently of a very good standard and whilst some people may be put off by saying it is slightly more than other places, you are paying for quality. You are not paying for the frills of loud music and dim lighting but a place that anytime you will wonder If it's worth the wait of the 20 to 30 minutes at times - trust me i in that it is. Go with the recommendations If you don't want burgers or other places that have proliferated in the area, and go with this place. 🅿️ Can be an issue at busy times as you will have to find space in one of the side streets.

Best Afghani food in town, I would recommend the lamp shank for mains and mento for a starter. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food you get.

The food was fab! It takes about 30 to 40 minutes for the food arrive but its fresh and properly made from the heart… one of the best in greater Manchester

Nice cosy restaurant. To be honest the food is standard and not exceptional, I prefer other places for Iranian-style cuisine. Qabli pilau is alright

The food was nice, nothing special nor was it nasty. It was wholesome food I guess. However, for the price point, it's expensive. I'm not sure I'd come back because of the price. The service wasn't great either unfortunately. 2 waiters but only 1 knew what was going on. It isn't a bad place at all, I would recommend people try it out, especially if it's your first time trying persian/afghan food. But they need to get a better service and find a way to get better value for money.

Lovely place hidden away. Their most famous dish is Qabli Pilau. Must try, it is perfect mashaAllah. It taste sooooo good. The meat is tender and just falls apart, its mouthwatering. They do a lovely soup for starters and an aubergine starter which is good too. Small family restaurant, lovely atmosphere, great service.

I make the drive from Liverpool multiple times a month, drawn in by the friendly staff, generous portion sizes, and unbeatable prices. As a loyal customer for years, I extend my gratitude to Choupan and plan to continue enjoying their culinary delights as long as they're around.

Food here is nice I have been plenty of times to order for takeout. However every time I drive past I have seen on the building that the opening time is 4.45. So this particular day I decided to take the wife there for meal with our daughter unfortunately the weather was horrendous. I parked the car a five minute walk away as that was as the only parking available. There is parking outside the restaurant on the street but that full. Waiting outside for 15 mins in the pouring rain and my wife checked on Google that it opens at 5.15. So we went to local shop just to get out of the rain. We killed 15 mins of time until opening time, and walked back still there shutters were down . I rang them up and asked what time they opened they said 5 mins . It got to about 5.30 by the time it opened. This is really annoying as it wasn’t only ourselves waiting. When we got in we sat down and ordered our food. Service was decent but not the best. Decor inside is really nice and has a cozy feel to it. I would come again however the opening situation needs to be addressed by owner / management.

Horrible costumer service! Noticed the guy was rude towards Pakistani/Indian costumers but not Iranian/ Afghans. Will never visit again.🤮

The food was burnt, the customer service is very bad and rude. They served us old food and burnt kebab. Kobeda was like car tyre and I paid a lot of money for a horrible food.

Amazing food and really good service too.. A real hidden gym in Manchester..Food is so authentic and different that you just wanna go back all the time.. Highly recommend it and yes don’t forget to try the soup- Bet you would not have tasted many things like it..

Best chef in Manchester! The food here is amazing! Truly home made fresh food full of flavour! The hummus and Nan is perfect for a starter as well as the dumplings! Main of course would be kobedieh with rice. A true explosion of flavours in your mouth!

Terrible service, made me wait half an hour for a pre-booked table as they gave it out in front of me as another group had one more person. Asked to wait upstairs and out the way? Left after 40mins at iftar time having not eaten anything

Tucked away unassumingly on cheetham hill road but my oh my they deserve much more recognition. The space is small and incredibly homely and cosy - you feel like you’re eating in someone’s house and the quality of the food is just what you’d expect from such decor. Full of flavour, with that “mums touch” and tender lamb with just the right amount of spice. If you want more there is a beautiful extremely spicy and tangy green hot sauce to accompany the dishes. Get the soup as well - it’ll warm you right up. The price was incredibly reasonable also.

If you like Afghani cuisine then Chouhan is the best place to offer authentic Afghani dishes. Qabily Pulao and Lamb Dopiaza are must eat items. Great food and excellent service.

Our family has been going to Choupan for as long as I remember. Almost every special occasion has involved a trip to Choupan - and it has been consistantly and unwaveringly excellent. It's a small restaurant but with a homely relaxed atmosphere and generous portions of superb food . Our favourite restaurant in Manchester!

Decided to visit Choupan today after a few recommendations from friends. It was a small but classic restaurant with Afghan and Iranian style deco and surroundings. The menu was short but had most of the popular dishes. We ordered Iranian style rice with lamb shank, Manto and Lamb chops. Everything was cooked to perfection and the taste was spot on. Finished our meal with a cup of green tea. The bill came to £38 which isn't bad at all considering the quality of food and service we received. Will be visiting again soon. I have attached some pics of the food we ordered and they tasted as good as they look.

My first time eating Afghan food and it was all really lovely. The service was great and all the food was fresh and tasty, with one of the nicest naan breads I have ever eaten.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant! The food is absolutely amazing – We enjoyed every single bite of it! Absolutely the best meal we had while in Manchester 😋Highly recommend!

Visitamos Choupan regularmente y nos encanta. El personal es muy amable y la comida es increíble. Los favoritos son las berenjenas y el yogur para empezar y para los mantoos principales y qormeh sabzi. Los kebabs y los guisos están llenos de sabor, la pierna de cordero es tan tierna que se cae del hueso: todo lo que he probado aquí ha sido tan bueno, hasta el pan y el arroz. ¡Todo sabe muy fresco y saludable, como cocinado en casa! Báñalo con un refrescante doogh y luego bebe un té verde para terminar, perfecto ya un precio realmente razonable.
