Chopstix Noodle Bar in Milton Keynes

We visited Chopstix as we’d tried the chain elsewhere and thought it would be a quick option whilst shopping. This was not a quick option.... I wanted to be able to say that this branch was as good as the others we’d tried, however, the queue was long and the two ladies at the till/drinks fridge seemed intent on finishing their personal conversation- much to the chagrin of the poor lady serving the food. I put in our order- one rice base, one noodles, there were so many noodles in my rice, I should’ve just asked for noodles. Out of the two ‘toppings’ I chose, neither were available. I enquired with the chef as to how long I would have to wait for the beef and he just stared at me disdainfully and shrugged. My partner wanted the Thai red chicken- also unavailable so we were then limited and ended up paying extra for options which weren’t our first choice. In total, in my medium box, I received 7 pieces of chicken for £8.50. In my partners box, he had 5 pieces of chicken and 4 prawns for £8.50. When we paid, the women at the til were still chatting and I had to ask twice for drinks. The floor was covered rice and chicken bones, the tray had greasy gunk underneath when I carried it back to the table and the place was so crowded that I gave up queuing to complain after 10 minutes of standing waiting. All in all this was a disgusting, expensive meal. I wish I’d gone to five guys instead

Loved it. Very clean and well presented. The food is brilliant nice and really tasty. I definitely will be passing through the area.

I've been here a few times and never had a greater experience the food is always very tasty ...the tables are clean ..staff very polite and willing to help you .a great place to go..

While the place looks adequate and the food smells tempting you will be disgusted by the rubbery noodles and slimy dishes slathered in salty marinade. The staff are rude and blunt greeting you with blank faces and though some enjoy this place I assure you that you probably will not if you have any sense of taste.

If you like alot of sugar and salt in your faux Chinese food, pop in here! In fairness, each box contained a lot of food and we ate it. Noodle nation it ain't but it meant a shopping trip with no visit to McRubbish, so I'm thankful for that. Not sure I'll visit again though.

I wouldn’t ever go there again we fount Hair in my sisters partners food and the staff are very rude they argue about the hair being ours when we’re all dark hair and they are rude and charge you high prices just for toppings no noodles or rice and give you not a lot. They chicken comes from the freezer straight in the deep fryer. The floors and tables are dirty and dusty they put dropped forks back in the basket.

The food definitely looks the part from behind the glass counter but it is so salty and the toppings just blend in together so it all tastes the same. Lady that served us obviously didn’t want to be there was rude and very abrupt and couldn’t break a smile. Very disappointing.

In essence a noodle bar version of Mcdonalds or alike. Fast food does what is says on the tin. Walking around Bedford looking to get my bearings and wanted something, other than sandwich or burger to eat as I went. For the £5 cost I had a decent size box containing sweet and sour and noodles. Decent enough taste and made a change.

Popped into ‘Chopstix Noodle Bar’ for a quick inexpensive lunch, Wish we hadn’t bothered! At first the smell was lovely and very appetising. (Which was the reason we decided to eat there). They advertise that their food is freshly prepared and is healthy and additive free..... brilliant.... or was it? My husband had rice with 1 topping,(£4.99) Katsu curry, which he described as okay. I had noodles with 2 toppings (£5.99) tempura prawns and barbecue chicken, neither had any flavour at all. We were given a promotional scratch card, which revealed a free portion of spring rolls, these were the best part of the meal but even then, they contained very little filling. The lady that served us was very pleasant, however at one point she stood holding the side door open, talking to 2 others for a while. When she returned to the noodle bar to serve, she washed her hands for a millisecond and although she put on the blue rubber gloves, If you have ever taken a food hygiene course, as I have, you will know this is not sufficient to avoid cross contamination., if you’re putting on gloves with unclean hands. I watch out for these things, as unfortunately I don’t have a strong constitution and if anyone is going to get ill after eating out it would be me. I can get ‘deli belly’ in the canaries!!!! Another lady came, left and then returned again to serve food. I didn’t see if she washed her hands or not, she was wearing gloves however she was serving food, cutting up chicken and taking money with the same pair of gloves on. All in all, if you haven’t got tastebuds and you want a quick inexpensive bite to eat this may be for you. If you want to taste your food and feel healthily afterwards, give chopsticks a miss!

We decided to try this noodle bar whilst myself hubby and daughter were out shopping, we were a bit skeptical as we don't really do noodle bars. Upon entering it was very busy but we managed to get a table and was served quickly. We all had noodles as a base.. We thought the food was lovely, tasty and hot. I loved the salt and pepper chicken, bbq chicken and sweet chilli prawns. We will definitely be returning with our 2 teenage sons next time.

The beef is good but the rest are just too oily and deep fried in dough like nuggets , some with caramel , some sweet and sour and salt and paper Dry , deep fried and unhealthy Good for teens as they seem to like it

Two boxes were ordered, one with rice as the base and Chinese bbq chicken and caramel chicken. The fried rice was nothing special. The Chinese bbq chicken tasted you would expect from a Chinese shop using a Chinese bbq sauce. The caramel chicken , I was never aware that Chinese made this dish and they shouldn’t! I don’t get the point of such a dish like this. The other box had a base of noodles, with beef in and peppers in a black bean sauce. It tasted nice but salty and I believe the beef was over cooked. There was also salt N pepper chicken which has a not bad flavour but was over cooked , the chicken was a bit dry. It’s a interesting concept of a fast food but in my opinion items could suffer from becoming dry and over cooked. The value is not bad, and the medium boxes we received were full. You would get better value going to a Chinese shop and getting one of their meal deals. Their chilli sauce is nice.

After shopping in the MK centre, me & my partner decided to eat here as we were in a rush, never again..!! Luke warm beef in black bean with noodles & bbq chicken with rice, prawn toasts & spring rolls as a side, again, Luke warm, soggy rubbish...!! If you like a mouth full of salty Luke warm over priced mush, please go here, it’ll hit the spot! If you’re looking for something that remotely resembles an oriental quick hot meal, go to Pizza Hut, they’ll probably come closer than this place...! Sandwich from M&S next time...

The price is probably a little bit much for the quantity you get, particularly given Kokoro nearby seems to offer a lot more food for a similar price. Service is always quick and easy though and the food is alright.

Good food and tasty. Lost a star as it was chucked together a bit. But was really tasty. Lots of choices, and staff were friendly enough. Good value for money.

Walked in today initially intrigued about this noodle bar as it look quite busy as we walked in and food looked nice behind the glass screen & so did the noodles.the caramel chicken was okay not the best but the noodles and dish overall was disgusting I was actually worried about eating it as just didn't trust it not to make me poorly so left it, bad experience the food is such poor quality and definitely would not recommend as a place to eat.

We visited here as we had visited Milton Keynes for an event and ventured to the shopping center. There wasn’t much choice so we settled for this as we didn’t fancy the other options much and it seemed the lesser of all evils. The food looked ok from behind the screen, but the reality was different. The chicken was awful, noodles cold, rice like stodgy mush, no soy sauce and despite its name they don’t have any chopsticks, just plastic forks that break in the food. Paid £16 for two boxes of average food and some spring rolls. Really awful food and unhelpful staff and the tables that didn’t have customers were piled high with abandoned trays of half eaten food.

Food wasn’t so fresh but tasted alright. Food serving needs a bit of improvement as they were just shoving in food in to the box without caring what goes what. Prices are reasonable.

Went to try this place out as i love Kokoro and its a very similar concept. The service was ok, they weren't too advising on what food to try and whats nice or not. Think i ended up going for caramel chicken which is AMAZING! Chicken curry which was not bad, just an average curry. And sweet chilli beef, was not bad at all. For the base of the dish i chose rice, which was ruined by all the veg inside... Keeping it plain and simple with just steamed rice would be so much better!

I left this restaurant today in anger before we were even served. On the window it said to ask staff about allergies. So seeing as my son has multiple allergies I asked a member of staff. I was spoken to with disdain and flippantly directed to the wall. The attitude towards me that I dare have a child with allergies, want to actually eat in public with them and ask the staff questions about the food they were serving was disgusting! I didn’t even bother looking I just turned around and walked out. If you have a big sign saying to ask staff I would expect the staff to understand the severity of allergies and the importance of someone asking what’s in the food.

My wife and I decided to eat at the Chopstix Noodle Bar and wished we hadn’t. I’ll always praise when food is good but this was bland and tasteless and disappointing. I had sweet n sour chicken with rice and my wife had a different chicken dish with noodles. Both dishes were not very nice, and we will definitely not be eating there again.....

Disgusting slimy food with a skin on I don’t know why I went there I was hungry and me and my partner thought we would give it a go The girl was rude I said hi and she was miserable she didn’t speck much and just barked at us when I asked how we did this as I had never been there before just said 3 toppings. Food was luke chicken was hard with jelly round it. After 10 mins of finishing it I felt ill and so did my partner never again Milton Keynes get something else in there that place is nasty

Stopped for lunch. There are 3 sizes small, medium and large. You choose between rice or noodles, then pick between 1,2 or 3 toppings. There is a good selection of main toppings. Reasonably priced too.

Decided to stop in for some noodles today , never visited before but was delighted with the choices . So I had noodles , caramel chicken and sweet and sour chicken, very tasty .Staff were friendly and polite and the resterant was very clean and tidy will definitely visit again

Being able to choose between a base of rice/chicken, then choose your toppings and sides, is great. I thought the variety on offer was impressive and larger than I thought. The food itself was very good.

Love it here, great place to stop for food whilst out shopping! Food is fresh, plenty to choose from. Staff always seem to be friendly. Would recommend.

A great little noodle bar, with very obliging staff. The portions are very generous and you can buy additional extras such as spring rolls or spiced chips. Staff will let you try a small sample of the food before you choose it.

Visited chopstixs today, clean friendly staff quick food, very tasty for fast food and worth a try, they have 5 stars for food hygiene which is a must for me, will definitely go again.

Decent enough rice & topping and only a fiver. But restaurant should have been tidier and staff should have been friendlier. Having been to a few Chopstix now, you do get the feeling that everything is 'going through the motions'.

We stopped here for a quick lunch, and we really enjoyed it!! Quick service, clean place, staff were friendly, food was tasty.

We've visited Chopstix a couple of times in the last month. We decided to try it out at first as an alternative to the usual fast food joints in the Centre MK. The food is always fresh when served. A large box costs £6 which can hold three toppings plus either a rice or noodle portion. A large spring roll is an extra £1.50p plus a drink. The drinks however are cans. A drinks machine would be nice perhaps to improve the feel of the restaurant. But if you just want a quick Chinese on your lunch break, it's ideal.

My wife and I had been meaning to lunch here for a while and looked forward to a nice lunch. However it was a complete let down. The noodles were like rubber and the toppings were soggy. My wife had to leave most of her's as being ver unpleasant. We won't be back.

This is some kind of Chinese Noodle/Rice with Toppings Fast Food Restaurant Bar. As I have to budget tightly in the meantime, Rice with one Topping and an extra 50p Rice Portion has been my main meal for the day most days. The sales assistants are young people that are courteous and helpful. They make sure you have a happy meal experience there. Well done!

I love good fresh food so ending up here was not what I was hoping for ... it's fast food ... cheap and cheerful... you get what you pay for. If you want a quality Chinese food go to a quality restaurant.

If you are limited to a 30 minute lunch, then pricing plan is simple, and the range of foods is about right. portion sized are generous and the food is always fresh.The staff here are friendly and efficient and the restaurant is always clean. It's a great place to take kids and makes a fantastic change to usual fast food fayre.

We were looking for a quick bite when visiting the town recently and saw the Chopstix Noodles Bar, I can't deny at first look I wasn't too keen! But once inside and trying the food it was great value, you can see it cooking freshly in front of you and the choice is fab. Whilst it's no great eatery for a quick bite to eat this place is absolutely spot on, don't judge a book by it's cover!

chopstix noodle bar in the Milton Keynes shopping center serves fried rice and noodles with a variety of sides.unfortunately, the day I went, the only vegetable side was a tempura and the only meat was chicken (around 9) there was no beef or seafood.

I like oriental food and had never used the Chopstix chain before so took the opportunity to give it a try You order by the size of box and number of toppings you would like.The staff seemed to assume that all customers knew what they were doing and knew what they wanted. When asked questions they were very unhelpful.Should have left there and then. The noodles were overcooked the two toppings I had were watery and tasteless I do not think they actually prepare the food them selves just reheat it. All in all I will never be going in to Chopstix again Over priced

Diabolical. Inedible rubbish masquerading as food !My daughter and i were simply unable to eat the awful jelly-like lumps of fat/mush that was supposed to be chicken in oyster sauce. Almost the entire meal went into the bin!I would have asked for a full refund had we sat down to eat in this place. However we took this rubbish home . . so too late!This was the first and LAST visit to Chopstix in Bedford.NEVER AGAIN!

Not bad for a quick meal stop.I must add though I have been to other chopstix restaurants in London and the food tasted alot better.

Boil in the bag, mass produced muck! loaded with cheap meats and sugar laden sauces. One of the few places I have ever had to ask for my money back and was given it without question.Don't risk your health and waste your money.

I LOVE this place! The food is always delicious! Great portions and brilliant staff! Very reasonable prices, you can't go wrong.

Fatty, poor quality food.Noodles didn't taste at all.2 stars because service was okay.Food is kept warm under heaters, not freshly cooked. Would be better if they had everything cold, and then freshly fried it off in a wok like some other places I know.

Stopped for a quick bite to eat with the kids during a shopping trip. Lady behind the counter was brilliant, patient with the children and allowed them to try different foods so they knew what they would like before we bought. We will definitely be visiting again.

If you are looking to grab a quick bite that is served quickly then I recommend this place. The staff are friendly and helpful. They gave a good selection of chicken dishes available that you can have with rice or noodles however it would be nice if sometimes they mixed it up and offered different dishes rather then them always being exactly the same.

This is quite a simple noodle bar, with a range of tasty options, and really good prices (noodles or rice, plus one main dish: around £5). Noodles or rice plus 2 main dishes, around £5.50. It's right in the centre of town, so convenient for shopping, and they let you try one or two tasters to see if you like it first. Always

Ate here for lunch today with my two daughters, as the queue in Kokoro was too long for us. I really enjoyed my meal, which included Thai Chilli Chicken and Korean BBQ Chicken. My daughters were less enthusiastic; one criticised her Hoisin Chicken for being " a bit tough".

Tried this place for the first time today. Never again. The food tasted like plastic. I wish I had stopped eating after the first few mouthfuls and asked for my money back since what I ate weighted on my stomach all afternoon.

I love Chopstix anyway, and being my second nearest chopstix restaurant, it gets its uses! It's such good value for money and such good food! I always go for a medium veg noodle base with spicy potatoes and spring rolls! + A diet coke of course! I highly recommend! Staff are friendly too!

Mr friend and I were out for the day and wanted something for a snack at lunchtime so we decided to give it a go. This was our first visit so didn't know what to expect. The only similarity would be to a McDonalds with an Eastern theme. The food was hot and tasty although the chicken was tender, I wonder if it was actually chicken. It could have been a vegetarian substitute as the texture was strange. Although I had a drink with my meal I noticed within a very short time that I was very thirsty so wonder what additives were in the food. Would I eat there again? Not sure.

My first visit to Chopstix, I visited with my wife and granddaughter. My observations are as follows; A limited selection of barely warm food, mostly greasy, fatty and tasteless chicken dishes. The one star is for the noodles which were the only edible things on offer. The lack of waiter service is not an issue here, it is purely the food. A very poor experience.

I'm been too a many of noodle bars in my time but I think this noodle bar is slightly restricted on choice neither of my daughters could make a meal

My food was warm which can be dangerous because its chicken..only time will tell!! Guts started to hurt when i finished review.No chopsticks just a silly plastic fork. Water in bottle overfilled so when i opened it the water squirted everywhere. Wont be back as i don't want my stomach to experience it again.

We wanted something a little different that wasn't a full on restaurant and opted for Chopstix. It presents itself as a noodle bar which isn't quite the case. You have a base choice of either noodles or rice and then dependent on the size of the box you choose you have 1-3 toppings. The topping are ALL chicken, all be it in different flavours. I had the Thai caramel chicken and salt and pepper chicken. My partner had peppered chicken and Hoisin chicken. Mine was nice, hers wasn't. It was a stop gap, I left full, it was cheap and a million times better than the other Mcfastfood restaurants but it didn't set the world on fire.

If you happen to be in the area and are looking for a cheap alternative for lunch, I highly recommend this place/The staff are friendly and and the restaurant itself is clean with a good atmosphere.This is definitely a place a for the discerning customer!

Visited Centre MK today with my hubby and as Pret a Manger was packed we opted for Chopstix which is next door and had lots of seating available. Wish we had waited for a table at Pret as the food in this place is not great. One eatery we definitely won't be visiting again

The meal comes in a cute little box for an even cuter price, and you get to enjoy it all in a very cute restaurant filled with cute anime images :)

On a recent trip to the shops with my wife and 12 week old baby we wanted something quick and inexpensive for lunch. Chopstix fitted the bill nicely. The food was greasy, bland and served in a tiny cardboard box. Not great but you get what you pay for. What I hadn't bargained for was the almost immediate impact this meal would have on my stomach. Any time efficiency gained from grabbing a quick bite in Chopstix was sadly lost as I took sanctuary in the toilets of John Lewis.

The kiosk looked very inviting and so my friends and I decided to dine there. The food was pretty good and offered a foreign taste in an area of seemingly similar food. The atmosphere was good, though a bit quiet.

The food was bland and greasy in all honesty but definitely not the worst option for a quick lunch at the city centre.

While the greeting from the staff was great, the food and fast resturant was not authentic or didnt provide chopstick for a resturant title called "chopstix"....huh? while rather confused about my non exsiting chopsticks the food was potent in garlic and provided large slices in every corner of my take away box. When I was asked if im "eating in or taking away" I was confused as it didnt make a difference as the food was packed in the same container as the seating in container, I ordered vegtable noodles which was over cooked and soggy and cotain what looked like frozed vegtable you buy from iceland, the egg noodles were very pale just boiled and tasted very salty. I also had for my fast food noodles a topping of salt and chilli chicken with was very hard and chewy as it was clear left in the bain maire too long so it became dry and straw like. They really need to asscess what experience you want you customer to have as this is a insult to asian cusine

This place looks very inviting and my friend and I decided to have lunch there, for a change. We were both disappointed. The food was reasonably priced and there was a good choice. You are even allowed to have a small taste before purchasing, which I have to say is very good. The food however was a let down and very dry and tasteless. The chicken wasn't great quality and overall it wasn't a nice lunch. Wish we had gone elsewhere.

Overlooked gooey noodles with congealed tasteless chicken slopped on top. Everything had been out far too long. Don't do it.

In the centre section of the shopping centre are some eating places one of which is called Chopstix Noodle Bar.The food is horrible. Tasteless, pappy, and grim bearing no resemblance to proper Chinese food at all.They give you the cheapest plastic cutlery that bends and practically throw the gloopy stuff into a polystyrene container. The bottles of water were warm(despite being in a fridge) and were from Costco!Totally awful, it cost £15 for two - ie two containers of tasteless rubbish and two bottles of cheap water. Advice- go somewhere else.

Went in to Chopstix in MK today, it is the first time we have been in and I have to say it's great.Quick and easy good value and very filling.Would recommend it even if your a vegetarian.

I was a bit unsure when the two other people I was with opted to go there for a bite to eat. And I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see what was on offer, and they even let me have a taster to help me decide on what to choose.The place was clean and well laid out and the food looked really nice, the hardest thing was choosing what to have as it all looked delicious. I have to say I walked out feeling full and refreshed.Would I go there again ? ..... Hell yes ... It was awesome and I will be back for some more, I can't wait till my next visit.If you are hungry and want something different and fast, go there as you won't be disappointed.

Its very basic, i wouldnt call it chinese food, my 6 year old would make something better than they can. Not authentic and its tasteless.

Went with my daughter for some tea. There's a limited choice but what we had was tasty if a little greasy. Have been before and would oh again.

A real sorry excuse for Chinese food. Most of the meat was dried out everything was very basic like a school meal in the 1970s

My daughter & I popped in here for lunch whilst out Christmas shopping as it wasn't too busy. We now know why. We ate out of waxed cartons with plastic forks. We both had noodles with 2 chicken dishes although it didn't look or taste much like chicken. We both made an attempt to eat our meals but left the restaurant hungry and disappointed.
