Choices in Brighton and Hove

We have been ordering our Saturday afternoon Kebab from Original Choices for over a year and they never let us down, always great, fresh food with generous portions and friendly staff who always read our instructions and will call us if something needs clarifying. Thank you Original Choices for being part of our Saturday routine, it's great to know we can always rely on you!

Food arrived promptly and was very hot, but the wrong Pizza was delivered, I ordered Pepperoni plus with pepperoni crust and just got a Pepperoni. I didn’t want the hassle of changing it so started eating it. Unfortunately the pizza was very greasy and I cannot explain the awful cheesy taste it had, other than 3 of us didn’t like it, and it ended up in the bin. Disappointing, I was expecting so much better given the reviews. Was not authentic as we expected!

Amazing food, massive servings and fresh! Really nice guys who look after you. Will definitely be going back. Thank you for a lovely experience.

After a very late delivery a couple of weeks ago, we accepted certain circumstances rather than excuses. After a polite conversation, I have to say that they totally looked after us tonight. They'll continue to get our custom, because of their attentive way of keeping their loyal customers. Value for money all round and tasty food. Thank you guys 👍

I ordered cheesy chips. Simple, right? A timeless, comforting dish. Hot, crispy chips draped in a glorious cascade of melted, gooey cheese—at least, that’s what I thought I was getting. Instead, what arrived was a barren wasteland of plain, unadorned chips. No cheese. Not even a whisper of dairy. Not a single lonely strand of grated cheddar to console me. I stared into the container, hoping maybe—just maybe—the cheese was hiding. But no. It was just me and the stark reality of naked chips. I felt a deep, soul-crushing sadness, like Romeo gazing at Juliet, like a poet staring at a blank page, like a child dropping their ice cream cone. Did they forget? Was this an attack on my very existence? Is this how villains are made? I’ll never know. But what I do know is that my heart aches, my soul weeps, and my chips remain tragically, devastatingly dry. One star—for the chips that showed up. But the cheese? The cheese will haunt me forever.

I used to use smileys would never go back there again too expensive 25 percent more expensive than original choice and the food is terrible at smileys would I be recommend use original choice you will never look back

These guys know what they're doing! One of the BEST takeaways in Brighton. We always spend here every week, large orders, loads of people, and we all love it. The food is top notch and the burgers are amazing. Well done boys!

Meat dry, chicken grilled to hell, doner meat no good compared to others in town. Chips over cooked.

Under new management it says…. not good management it would seem. Food was cold, disgusting and left one of us with food poisoning. The service was poor and rude. Tried charging £31 for two meals and when queried it suddenly became £23. Still didn’t add up to the menu above the counter but was told “they old prices”. Will never be returning and have raised a food hygiene complaint.

The last few months the food has been amazing always order chicken shish and doner kebab both with all the salad, the meats have such a great flavour, we love their chips too the best. Burgers are good too. Keep up the good work, not sure if you have a new chef 🧑‍🍳 or not but keep up,the good work. Not good for our waistlines, but delicious thank you. Local to you and use you most weeks.

when they first opened everything was fine however after my previous orders they have been over 30 minutes late delivering food was okay and staff didnt help. Telling us it would be delivered in 10 minutes but still hasnt showed up after 20. Completely gone down hill.

When they first reopened the owner was a nice guy and not a fraudster. However apparently he sold it a few months ago and since then these guys have turned into complete clowns. Ordered 2 pizza meal deals that took over 1 and a half hours to arrive. When the driver did finally arrive in my street he realised that he had forgotten the drinks. Instead of dropping of the food and then going to get the drinks, he decided to go and get the drinks at the petrol station and take the food with him. He came back 8 minutes later. However he also had forgotten the garlic bread. I said to him that if it was cold and horrible i would want a refund and he said "yeah yeah" and was very pleasant on the day. However when i tried getting a refund from just eat they said i had to go down to the restaurant as i paid cash. When i got time to get down to the restaurant the next day, the driver had finally found his voice now he was with his boys. He and his entourage insisted that they gave me free chips and drinks to compensate. However the garlic bread and pizzas that i wanted and waited nearly two hours for were cold. I didn't want chips. He said that was £10 so i said okay take it off my price and ill have a refund on the remaining. He then said why didn't i say it was cold on the night etc. Yeah let me say its cold and wait for another 2 hours for more food to arrive. It would've been nearly 10pm before any new stuff arrived that would've been in correct eating order. Avoid these jokers and clowns at all costs and hopefully they'll be shut down again like they were a few years back. Always have been a dodgy establishment. Only postive was the old short boy who was pleasant on the phone and in the shop, he was even agreeing with me and doing facial gestures suggesting he also knew his co workers were clowns. FOOLS! Ps all 10 of them tried to intimidate me in the restaurant by shouting and screaming etc. But realised they couldn't so soon backed off. Also talking behind my back in another language instead of saying stuff to me in person. Cowards!

Excellent, ordered donor kebab, the garlic sauce is the best we have had. Cheesy chips, breaded jalapenos and crispy chicken fillets. All superb all hot and delivery time spot on. Thank you

First time eating from here and look forward to going back. Food was all fresh, hot and tasty. Pizza was really nice, they use fresh dough. Also good value for money! Friendly staff and owners, can tell they put a lot of effort in. Would recommend!

Wow. The best pizza we ever had in Portslade Area!! The pizza was so delicious and with so many flavor, they have a great toppings selections and great prices on a single pizza. You could just take away or standing finish your pizza in the store, that's what we always do, and standing there and chatting with great and friendly staff! The service and the food were both excellent. Strongly recommend trying these guys out. THANKS

Bad weather impacted delivery time but felt i was being gobbed off. still unsure will use them again. Food gone downhill and the only dish I loved was the flatbread nachos.

Sent food back as it was too early. Food was not brought back. I called take away. Was told 5 mins. Called back 10 mins later was shouted at and told not to be rude when i asked for my food. Will not be using again.

We asked for some specific things and we got them, no problem at all. It’s amazing how asking for something simple from some places gets you nothing or they ask for more money at the door but not these guys. Great food and lovely attentive service, thank you! Will order from you again and again!

I have to say this was absolutely the worst meal I've ever had. We order nachos and they were cold, burnt and were stuck to a tortilla. We ordered salsa with them, but there wasn't any. We also ordered a pizza that was came cold and popcorn chicken that was way too dry. The only acceptable thing we got was the Dr. Pepper we ordered, and tjats because they had nothing to with it. Delivery time was good, but that's it. Definitely not enough for me to go back again.

Having ordered food several times I’ve always been somewhat underwhelmed. The prices are reasonable but you often have to wait a while and quality of the food offered is pretty poor. I live nearby but would probably not go there again. Much better places around

Delivery was confirmed for 8:10, food didn’t arrive until approx 8:40, when it did arrive it was warm at best. Because the food was late I tried phoning the restaurant to check on the order, initially the phone rang solid for 2 minutes and then was cut off, I proceeded to ring multiple times just to be cut off after ringing for a while. I understand the wait time if it is busy however don’t confirm the order for a time that is unrealistic and won’t be achievable as we were part of a group who ordered from different places for delivery at the same time however everyone else was finished before we even received ours. Kind of annoyed as have used choices multiple times in the past as the food used to be extremely good and well packaged so it didn’t go soggy however it has gone downhill very quickly.

I was waiting for my order almost 2 h , contacted support twice. Cheese chips was almost without cheese and soggy , my burger was barely warm . not happy about this service at all ...

2hrs from ordering to receiving. Couldn't get through on the phone to chase so had to contact just eat and that didn't speed up the process. To top it all off, the take away was sub standard. Wont be ordering again from Choices

Ordered pizza kebab and wings.. took an hour and 20 mins to delivery 10mins away... food was cold and they forgot the wings so when I phoned up they argued with me about them... they then turned up 20mins later and they tasted and looked like yesterday's left overs.. absolutely disgusting..

Banoffee pie had no taste and was not a banoffee pie more like a strange type of cheesecake. Pizza was good though ! Card fee and delivery charge even though we are within 2 miles so that's a bit cheeky really . Won't be ordering again and don't advise you to

We then started unpacking the bag it came in to find that they had missed off 3 portions of chips from our order and the one portion of chips that had been delivered were lukewarm at best! So I rang back the restaurant who said they would send some more out to us. By this time the rest of our meal was getting cold and so we had to try and put it in the oven to keep it warm (which wasn't the nicest as they had already put the salad in the kebabs so we had to heat that all together!) 20 minutes passed and our chips had still not arrived. I rang back again and was told they would be sent out shortly. I explained my annoyance to the restaurant and explained that I wasn't very happy as the rest of my meal was going cold! She then told me to eat the kebabs first and by the time the chips turned up we could eat them afterwards. I asked her if she was being serious as that's not the kind of customer service you expect when the restaurant has missed off half of your order from the delivery. She simply replied that if we are the kebabs first then they wouldn't get cold. I told her that I understood this but that wasn't the point. Fuimos para llevar, 2 pizzas y patatas fritas. Pude haber hecho una pizza yo mismo desde cero en el tiempo tomado. Nos dijeron que serían 15 minutos. Casi una hora más tarde, después de preguntar dónde estaba nuestra comida, se produjeron 2 pizzas quemadas. Exigí que me devolvieran el dinero y, después de amenazar con llamar a la policía, me dieron mi dinero. Nunca más.

An hour and 5 mins for delivery. They missed a portion of chips. The chicken was still pink in the middle. Kebab was fine. Delivery driver very friendly.

I ordered a doner wrap which i payed £1 extra for, only to get a doner in a pitta bread.

Two pizzas arrived on time, one was as described, the "mighty meaty" didn't really live up to expectation (being little to no meat!) Didn't expect delivery guy to re knock door five minutes later to show me a piece of pepperoni on the original pizza though. II'll stick to Dominos in future.

My and my family have been going to choices for years and this is by far the worse order I have received from them. I ordered my favourite- the pepperoni pizza. When I opened the box for the pizza, it looked disgusting. The sauce was too runny and so was the cheese. It was almost like it had been made earlier and then just microwaved warm. I ordered the thin crust and none of it was dry, not even the crust, it was just dripping in grease. Normally that pizza is cooked really well, a little bit crusty where the pepperoni is but it was just disgusting. So gutted as normally the pizza is delicious

If we could give 0 stars we would! Was awful, ordered it and a hour later we got a call saying they haven't even cooked our pizza and told us they undercharged us by £2 so got told we had to pay it! Said it was delivered at 17.35 on just eat, didn't come until 18.45! And was all cold, Never will order again.

Absolutely fuming about our delivery last night! Cost me £24. The chicken donner kebab was a pitta bread with salad and mayo and maybe one bit of donner meat and when we questioned them and asked for a refund they rudely said no and said that's the amount of meat you get with a medium! My partner took it back and they were so rude. My chicken kebab was fatty and tasteless! We will NEVER order from there again. Food= disgusting Service=disgusting £2 delivery charge= shocking Overall thought= wouldn't feed there food to the homelessness.

I am absolutely disgusted with the time it took for my food too arrive and when it finally arrived the food was soggy and the quality the donor meat kebab was way below standard if I wanted food of that quality I would've bought a microwave meal... and don't even get me started on the bacon cheeseburger it had the texture of sandpaper which is grade 150 the fudge cake was remotely nice however was nothing too special if I wanted a meal like this I would've scraped up and cooked some roadkill, this takeaway was absolutely abysmal next time I will be purchasing from charcoal grill as there quality off food is 15x better then that mashed up food you call Turkish food I hope your appalled with the service you've provided me I will be telling my family and friends not too eat this roadkill....
