I've ordered via Deliveroo. 1st time ordering from Simit Palace. I've ordered the Turkish breakfast, acma, lentil soup, menemen and rice pudding. The Turkish breakfast was missing the boiled egg, the crème cheese, the tea and the sauced chicken, only got the Simit, half of peeled and sliced cucumber, half diced tomato, a handful of olives, the jam, butter, a small loaf of bread, a slice of salami cut in half, some greens, 2 small triangles of cheddar cheese and a chunky piece of feta cheese. (that feta portion was actually of decent size). All these fit in 2 small plastic takeaway containers. Seeing that it costs £11.50, I don't think it's good value for money. Also the lentil soup portion was kind of small, same like the rice pudding (Sutlac) which cost £5.50. I've been ordering from another place Sutlac and it only costs £3.95 and it was a bit bigger than what Simit Palace offers. On a positive note, the Simit, Acma and everything else seemed fresh, and tasted nice as well. But overall, I wouldn't consider reordering again due to the price-to-portion-size they offer and also because of the many forgotten items in the breakfast, as there are other cheaper Turkish restaurants in Brighton that offer better value for money and just as fresh and tasty food.

There cakes and homemade lemonade are amazing

Lovely cafe with a kind staff, delicious sweets, and strong wifi. I greatly enjoyed the lentil soup and sweets. Highly recommend the baklava!

Wonderful savoury and cake selections

The food was terrible. it was not worth the price. I had ordered a soup yesterday I specifically asked for it be warmed. However, it was cold. The food quality was not worth the price. Perhaps desserts might be better. A disappointment.

What a lovely place! We only popped in for a hot chocolate on a rainy day, but also ended up buying some cheese and spinach Börek for take away. Very yummy! The cakes look amazing too, would also like to come back here for breakfast. Definitely recommend this place. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the place inside looks great with plenty of seating.

Been here several times now and starting to really like it. All things Turkish... Except the music! Go with the music please, something different is refreshing. Food hygiene training for the young men please! Not a big deal but .....

Hi, last week my husband ordered my Birthday cake from Simit Palace, Pistacio Chocolate cake.... Hmmmm...I can tell you it was one of my best Birthday cake ever. Soft, fresh....Service brilliant, staff was helpful and kind. Recommend you.

Enjoyable experience. Authentic Turkish cuisine

The cake I got was delicious but I wanted to write the review for the staff. The lady was super nice and gave us a box to go for what we couldn’t finish. Overall seemed lovely. The atmosphere was great. Food might be a little much but was still great.

Lovely welcoming cafe with great coffee and tasty Turkish foods;tasty bagels, breakfast pastries and baklava and loads more. Excellent cakes. Also a good price.Rapidly becoming our favourite for snacks ,coffee and light meals in Brighton. Toilets also good and clean.

The service wasn’t expected from one staff member and the tables need to be cleaned.

The Turkish breakfast here is the best in Brighton, which is why we keep returning! We returned to Simit several times in November and December 2023. The breakfast was fresh and wonderfully presented every time. We enjoyed our Turkish coffees, which were always smooth and rich. It’s really difficult to resist their freshly made cakes so I always take one home with me! Their freshly made brownie cake is simply delicious! The staff at Simit are so also lovely - all helpful, polite, and attentive. They always make you feel at home and what true Turkish hospitality is like! This is a real hidden gem in Brighton! We will be back again soon!

Really nice cafe, spacious, offering a large selection of cakes and savory snacks. Service is great. Thanks to Merve who made this place a warm place to go for coffee or snack.

Terrible food + service. SKIP. To be fair, the man who served the food was very nice but the lady behind the counter was not so professional. We ordered the Lahmacun, and I have to say it was genuinely the most disgusting one I've ever had, it tasted like the meat had been sitting there for weeks so I bring it back, 99% uneaten and say that it tasted off, she proceeded to argue with us and then charged us the full price, despite us eating none of it, not even a tiny discount or an apology... I hope the £4.50 was worth it because I will never return there again in my life. Extremely disappointed.

Great breakfast with Turkish tea

What a delight. A wide range of Turkish style breakfast dishes. We settled on a plain simit for the wife and a simit with feta cheese and tomatoes for myself. Both were warmed in an oven before being served. A black coffee and an apple tea for my wife gave the feeling of being back in Turkey. Would recommend this place, and will go again when back in Brighton in December.

Like the Turkish breakfast and Turkish tea. The service is a bit his and miss. They have young waiters that really should have some training. One of the Turkish girl is very nice I usually go there once a week when I want to eat some Lahmacun.

Best place for a snack bite, a pep talk or a full plate meal. The cakes and pastries are excellent taste and delicious. Not only taste but they look great and special. Customer service is great and they’re very patient everytime i visit. The four start is cz they don’t do vegan cakes or stuff which is a little disappointing for me 🙃. I love to have some vegan stuff at this place in future hopefully :)

I visited this café for the first time this weekend - what an absolute gem. The moment you step in, you're greeted with a lovely, warm ambience with simplistic, modern/traditional decor to match. •Food• The food is laid out in the cabinets in front of you - some of which is warmed up for you on your order. They all look delicious, from the potatoe filled pastry to the pistachio and walnut covered baklava - absolutely mouthwatering. •Coffee• Ultimately, it was the traditional Turkish coffee that we came in search for...and it didn't disappoint. Having a sweet tooth, we ordered the sweet Turkish coffee - they were intensely aromatic and full of body and flavour, so much so, we had seconds. •Hygiene• Absolutely immaculate - well done. •Customer Service• The service was slightly slow to start with, but after the initial slow patch, they were fine and asked if the food was good (which isn't the norm for a coffee shop but then that's what you get when you choose to drink and dine at an independent). Friendly and polite at all times. I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to this place and look forward to many more visits, sipping on my coffee and watching the world go by...

Very tasty authentic Turkish sweets and soup!

I cannot recommend this cafe enough, delicious Turkish bakery, had a late breakfast here, chose a cream cheese and salmon simit and coffee. Such a lovely selection of foods on display. Will definitely be returning.

I wouldn’t even give one star to this place! The service was awful, lady at the counter were very aggressive and rude to me and to my family, she even don’t know how to serve a Turkish pastry, i ask the lady to heat up my pastry as it was ice cold, she put it in a microwave for 5 min and made the pastry like a hot sponge, horrible place not worth to go there at all!!

Scrumptious cakes and pastries, me and my family will definitely go back. It's got a really nice atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and patient especially with the kids. The menu board suggested that tea came in a pot. What I got was the cheapest green tea bag in a cup. With nowhere to put the tea bag. I expected better. A tea bag in a cup of hot water at premium prices is not acceptable. Laziness

The outside of Simit Palace drew us in from across the road, a bright red exterior looked very welcoming. A cheery hello as we entered, we chose a table then looked at the items on offer, looking for a light lunch, lots of items to chose from. I went for a tuna & cucumber flatbread & a homemade lemonade. My flatbread was well filled & delicious, the lemonade was lovely & fresh, on the tarty side, which was very refreshing. A perfect place for a light lunch while out for the day with friends. The interior looks great with brick walls & Turkish crockery. Just as we were leaving I purchased a box of rose Turkish delight for my husband . Which he loved. Shall certainly be back when visiting again.

If you love Turkey and Turkish cuisine then this place is for you . I have been here many times and today I took my brother here to have kunefe and we were told that kitchen was closed and chef had already left . We were disappointed and said that we were looking forward to try the kunefe and that my brother is here only for a week and he will be going back to the US. Immediately the gentleman there said ok wait for 20 minutes and I’ll go to the kitchen start up the oven and will serve you kunefe . As promised we were given the most yummiest kunefe which tasted exactly like the one I had in Istanbul. I wish I can give more than 5 stars for their excellent service they could have easily sent us off but they didn’t want to disappoint us. Highly recommend this place

I can say this is the best bakery in the Brighton. You can order cake with your customizations. I order many vegan cakes for the birthday parties here and even our community guys trust this bakery and they order cakes here, every time they feel to celebrate.

Food was excellent and service at table was great. Unfortunately the overall experience was dampened by the rudeness and abrupt nature of one of the male staff at the front desk.

Excellent customer service and lovely halal food, great for a halal breakfast choice and also a mosque close by too which is handy. Lovely, homely atmosphere and a vast array of dishes and bakery items which looked amazing.

Wandered into here for a bit of desert after a dinner down the road. Had the pistachio cake and a coffee, which were both great. Guy behind the counter was very friendly and gave us recommendations. Paid about 8.50, which seemed fair to me as the piece of cake was huge (we shared one between two).

First time eating here today , the Turkish breakfast was lovely, lovely fresh warm bread. Lots of food.

After looking for halal places of which there weren't many and even less so good ones, we settled for simit and I must say we were very impressed with the customer service and the quality of the meals. We ordered Turkish sausage with eggs and Menemen. Both tasted scrumptious and left us feeling full of energy and satisfied. Portion size is also impressive too.

Lovely coffee. Something about this place reminds me of the diner in Twin peaks ! I think it's the traditional tables and lay out. Unpretentious cafe, is now my 'go to' when on the western road.

We went to this bakery and ordered traditional Turkish breakfast. Sucuk sausage and eggs was great and Simit was fresh and tasty but borek was not very good as I tried better borek before and it’s one of my favourite Turkish food. Staff was not very professional and friendly but if you like Turkish pastries specially Simit you can try this place.

The cakes here are creamy and delicious. You can find Turkish deserts with very authentic taste that will take you to Turkey 🤤. The Trileçe here is soooo good
