Choi Pin Chinese Restaurant in Bromley

Received food and was shocked to have a pube in the spring roll! Ordered bbq ribs in bbq sauce and they was swimming in oil! No bbq sauce! Shocking

Ordered for takeaway. Good: Service was good. Chicken chow mein was standard, a bit oily right at the bottom. Sweet and Sour chicken balls were great - batter was thin and well cooked, with a good amount of chicken on the inside. Egg fried rice was good too. Satay sauce was good. Sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style was OK. Bad: Duck was over-shredded (more pulverised than shredded) and a bit dry. Satay skewers had not been cooked in the sauce (sauce comes on the side), and were thick and overcooked, so dry. Honey pork ribs were so dry and tasteless we couldn't eat them. Duck rolls had an artificial, very processed taste to them and one was very fatty. Cantonese pork was also tasteless and very dry, despite being in sauce. Singapore rice noodles definitely had some heat to them, but were completely tasteless except for the heat - went straight in the bin. Will be trying somewhere else next time.

Ordered takeaway away, delivered very quickly and food was excellent, Rice portions are really decent. Would definitely order again!

I work in the area. (Unfortunately I don't live in the area). First time have been here. I left it too late to sit in so instead settled for a lunch time take away from a set menu. The selection was really good. The food was fresh & very tasty. The lady who served us was very friendly & helpful. I would highly recommend. Shame I don't live nearer. 🥲

We ordered a takeaway for six people. The food took around 40 minutes and tasted really nice. It the nicest crispy beef I've tasted in a while. Unfortunately, due to the types of containers they use, the food gets cold quite quickly, so maybe switch to foil trays to keep the food hot for longer. Really friendly staff and professional service.

Haven’t been here since it changed hands, and popped in really late today- despite me being really annoying by coming for a sit down meal near closing time they accommodated us beautifully. Really happy, excellent food and love all the new decorations 💓

Fabulous meal and plenty of it, we had starters, mains and drinks and had to take some home as couldn't eat it all. Excellent value, beautiful ambience and all staff very attentive and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning

I have used the restaurant religiously for the last 2 years, recently it has become a lot worse. So much so that I have written this review. I instructed my order to be left at my door since people sleep so I don’t want it to be rung, I have a ring doorbell so I would know if it comes and my window overlooks my driveway so I can see someone walk to my door. My order was left in the street infront of my driveway. When I called up to talk about it they said it was out of their hands as it was delivered by Uber not store despite it being said on Uber delivered by store and I could here them talking to the driver. Next they said it was my fault for instructions to be left on my doorstep and that they had a picture from the driver and it may be in a safe space. I looked outside and I wasn’t there but in the street. So I told them. They said they would redo the order this one time and in future to not leave instructions insinuating it’s my fault. I have cerebral palsy so need to eat to keep energy so. I needed my food. I have never been treated so badly in my life. I am so disappointed

Called in on the off chance, no tables available so ordered a takeaway. Had to wait 45 minutes which we took as a good sign believing that the food would be freshly cooked. We have just experienced the most unpleasant Chinese food we’ve ever had. It would take too long to go into detail of each dish. Suffice to say nothing tasted as it should! So disappointing.

We had an evening meal here this evening, we were disappointed compared to a meal we had here a few months ago . The food was bland, the Singapore noddles had far too many chills and onions in and not much else of any substance . There wasn’t enough chicken in the cashew and chicken dish .On the positive side the service was good and the food was hot . Not sure we would eat here again and wondering whether they have a new chef ?

I ordered a special chow mein, it was noodles and a small amount of chicken and some tiny shrimp. Worst special chow mein I've had. No other meats at all.

Ordered a delivery, food was very poor quality under the new ownership, the sweet and sour sauce tasted like bananas for some reason. The bang bang chicken was just cucumber, boiled chicken and mayonnaise. Hasn’t been the same since new ownership. Disappointing.

Since changing ownership been here a number of times and been very happy with it . Staff lovely, food very nice and fresh. Loving the event nights they have been doing aswell . Really turnt this place around !

I made an error ordering online - totally my fault. When I turned up to collect, the order hadn't come through. Without any fuss at all, the lovely Hollie, took my order down, told me to go home and my food would be delivered. The food arrived within half an hour and was piping hot, as well as delicious. Great service and great food. Next time eating in!

An excellent evening and coped with our table of 10 perfectly. Food was hot and very tasty. The staff were excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. We were also shown the lunchtime special offer menu which is excellent cal for money. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Eaten in here a number of times since the change of ownership. The service now is so friendly and can’t do enough to accommodate. And the food improves every time I eat from there. I feel like there aim to please xx

First take-away from here since change of ownership. Take-away: soup, mixed hors d'oeuvres and crispy duck for 2. Soup was passable, but the rest was inedible. Mixed hors d'oeuvres were tasteless. The crispy duck came off the bone, shredded and had obviously been reheated. Even the cucumber and spring onions were stale. Staff pleasant but the food was shockingly bad. Will not be returning.

We had avoided this place since January due to issues with general service and standard of food. We decided to give it the benefit of the doubt last weekend but now wish we hadn’t 😣 The staff are much more professional now but sadly the food hasn’t improved. The dishes were watery, bland and like school dinner. They really need a change of chef too by the look/taste of the latest takeaway. Also the pricing seems to have increased somewhat, definitely NOT value for money, wont be using them again.

Sweet and sour chicken was like a ready meal plus the chicken satay was tough and dry. We spent £80 £30 per person set menu plus £20 for a bottle of wine, which was brought over and just plonked on the table. We left halfway through the meal. I did message the restaurant, and they replied, then blocked me so I could not reply to their question.

Amazing. The food was delicious, the staff were very nice, and the £10 lunch deal is very good value! Highly recommend.

Really great! Authentic Hong Kong chefs and tasty food. They do a £10 lunch deal, which is amazing value for what you get. I had the noodles with sweet and sour tofu, and spring rolls. Really recommend the noodles, they were spot on. Really great value overall.

Normally better. Just had a takeaway from Choi Pin. Just taste like all the sources have been slightly watered down. Not good. Will try one more time, but might have to change restaurants.

Had set lunch there. Good value. Atmosphere was quiet. Some Chinese music would have been nice.

We ate in yesterday. The food was lovely as were the staff. We were abit dubious because of some of the reviews but wanted to make our own minds up. Quite quiet so slightly lacking in atmosphere but it certainly didn't ruin the experience.

Have been using this restaurant for years. Ordered a take away last night and it was horible. Food was dry and tasteless. I rang and spoke to the manager, he said. We are the new owners, thank you for your comments. That was it. Awful attitude. My advise, stay away!! .

We went for the first time since the change of owner on Friday (2.2.24) & we really enjoyed the food, the ribs were a bit different, but apart from that we enjoyed the food just as much as we did before. We booked for 6.15 and we were out by 7.45-8, and that was us asking for a minute between starters, duck & main We’ll definitely be going back!

Has it closed? We've been twice recently and it hasn't been open, no sign on door or anything. This is our favourite Chinese so hope it is still going

I wish I could give 0 stars Absolute disgusting. Been driving from sidcup to get Chinese from here for over a year as it was thee best about However staff have all changed and it’s complete rubbish Chicken balls taste like fried it dirty oil, staff have no clue about the menu Get told a hours wait then when you arrive you wait a additional 30-60 minutes I gave them the benefit of the doubt but last 3 visits have been worst each time Avoid this place it’s rough now unfortunately as was a great place for Chinese

This restaurant has really gone downhill. We had been getting takeaways from here for years but noticed over the last few months the food has deteriorated with dishes being bulked out with loads of veg etc, also bland compared how it used to be. Recently started getting the wrong food given to us when we get it home, really exasperating. To top it all the discount for collecting your own order has now been removed, its a rip off. Sadly will no longer be coming here, waste of money, bad food, incorrect orders, long wait times. Enough is enough.

We have been regular customers at Choi Pin for the last 3 years, coming from another Chinese restaurant because we felt disappointed with that one too. On the last few visits, we felt extremely uncomfortable with the atmosphere and just how different it was in there. So we asked if the original owners, Thomas and Laura were on holiday, we got told that they had Semi-retired and may or may not be back, we were devastated! But could definitely tell something was up. The food has tasted different the last few times - no flavour, random huge chunks of vegetables to bulk it out, and scoulding hot oily satay sauce (the oil had stained the bowl and our fingers) - which we weren’t made aware of how hot it was. My friend burnt her tongue and has woken up with blisters on it from where she dipped the food in! The staff were arguing in the kitchen which we could hear from the restaurant and then they brought the disputes out to the restaurant for the 3 tables to hear. The service is shockingly slow and more often than not we have to ask for things rather than be offered them first, even though the front of house team had been standing around talking for the past 15 minutes or so, or on their phones!! We went yesterday and ordered a mixed starter for two, and 2 other sides.. we then ordered mains, but couldn’t eat them all. We were then told by the waitress that “we did order quite a lot of starters” in an abrupt voice. Even though it was only us that would’ve been out of pocket really as we couldn’t eat it because it wasn’t very appetising. But we paid for it all anyway!! The portion sizes were always so good for the price and it was lovely food, but recently (since changing management) they have been noticeably smaller and instead of the nice salt and chilli seasoning, they now use dried onions, which looked like they had come from a packet and some fancy cut carrots. Before we left the manager popped out to the shops, 2 of his staff were then having a full on shouting match in the restaurant, mentioning his name and seen to be getting cross. When the manager came back, it felt very frosty and one of the members of staff got his bag of food and stormed out. Being that there was only 2 of us and one other couple, we couldn’t not hear it! Unfortunately you have lost a good batch of customers as we had been recommending this restaurant to our families too, we will now be asking if anyone knows of any different ones, which is a huge shame!! Even with the takeaway orders, we have previously ordered over £50 worth of food and thrown it away because of the standard of food. I used to travel down from Hastings, me and my friend used to come here for dinner and have a catch up! This makes it even more of a shame!!!

My friend recommended this place to me and I’m not sure why because it’s awful. wasn’t hot, no flavour and a waste of money because me, my wife and daughter hardly ate any of it. Will definitely be finding another Chinese in the future. 👎

Just been up to choi pi restaurant for a take away, ordered it was told 20 mins. It took 45 mins to arrive, drive home 5 min drive food was stone cold. Avoid this place at all costs Paul

A regular in this establishment, I’ve taken my family here many times and dined with no issues . Exceptionally rude this evening to the point I did not even bother to sit down ! Shocking as I’ve spent hundreds of pounds and never complained about a thing and always been polite ! Will never dine here again you have lost a good customer tonight , arrogant man in a shirt walking around refusing to try and make our dining experience any more comfortable ! To add was also my birthday meal , thanks for nothing !!

We have discovered Choi Pin, a fabulous Chinese restaurant in Biggin Hill; it is a family run concern. Worth giving it a try, we were impressed.

Absolutely cracking food. Had no idea who Choi Pin were when I ordered but will definitely get their food again. Speedy delivery and just so tasty. We ordered way too much and then ate it all! Had guests over and we all thought the food was second to none.

Lovely & clean got a table with ease, don't be fouled this was on a Wednesday evening. However did fill slowly. Service was still great even with the extra tables to be served. Food was tasty & hot. Started off with a share plater for 4 then onto the mains. Definitely going back for more

Awful service. Ordered online, waited 2 hours for food to turn up. Kept ringing and they kept saying 15 minutes, sounded like they didn’t have a clue what was going on. Had to cancel the order, never order from here !!!

Nice place to visit, the place is never busy when we have visited. The staff are welcoming and also there on hand to help. The food is outstanding and value for money. We have been back many times . The duck is of great value and the taste is another level. Go visit.

Our second time having a takeaway from here. Cannot find a fault with any of the dishes. The sea bass in particular is amazing! Best chinese we’ve ever had. Would highly recommend.
