Chocolates look lovely. I made sure we visited this place based on their online presence…but the service was absolutely dreadful. The lady behind the counter may have rolled her eyes as we walked in. The other lady behind the counter didn’t acknowledge us at all. The only time the First Lady begin the counter said something pleasant to us was after she’d taken our money!

Most unfriendly cup of coffee ever bought. The lady was rude and quite unpleasant. I gave a complement on how nice it looked and she just grumped at me. Someone came in who knew the lady and she was just as unpleasant to her too. iPad on the counter not engaging with customers. 2 guys in came in and asked if they could bring their dog in and the lady didn’t even look at them but just said NO, they left the shop. Coffee was less than average. Atmosphere was horrendous. Another lady working there didn’t even acknowledge us. We were going to buy chocolate but because of how we were treated we left. Don’t go there!!

My husband had amaretto hot choc and I had black forest, yummy. We were served a little raspberry chocolate on the side which was delicious and enticed us to buy some.

You can get a coffee as well but the selection of chocolates and sweets here is stunning. Go look for yourself!

Lovely little chocolate shop which also offers hot drinks and very good coffee. Try the salted caramel truffles!

We called in the Chocolate Spa for a morning coffee and a hot chocolate. The café is in a very central location and looks out onto the street. The coffee was excellent and the hot chocolate was delicious, thick and creamy. The lady behind tne counter was very pleasant and she gave us a chocolate truffle each to try- divine! We also bought a bag of dark chocolate ginger pieces. They were delicious.. The café felt warm and cosy and we didn’t feel rushed. A lovely informal ambience and the aroma of chocolate... I just wish the café was nearer to home - it bought back memories of “Chocolat” - the novel. The perfect place for chocolate lovers.

This chocolate and tea shop should be on your must visit list if you are visiting Alnwick. The chocolates are divine and I had the best hot chocolate I have ever experienced there. The hot drinks are all served with a dark chocolate truffle. Absolutely fabulous!!

We popped into this little shop last Friday. The choice of chocolate is exceptional as the choice of icecream with lots of different flavours for foodies such as ourselves!

Coffee excellent, free choc brilliant, chocolates to take away amazing. LOVE this place. However, I have to limit visits for the sake of my waistline.

A favourite place to meet up with friends for probably the best cup of coffee, always served with a delicious truffle chocolate. They are just sooooo goooood! They also serve wonderful hot chocolate, tea, cakes and scones. The shop sells the most amazing array of chocolates, confectionery and small gifts. I have often bought selections of their chocolates as gifts stating they are for adults only - not wasting these on the kids! There is seating outside where you can watch the world go by. Inside it is small but cosy and so much more pleasant than the larger more impersonal multis around. Not just a cafe, the Chocolate Spa is an indulgent treat. I'm off, I feel a chocolate fix coming on.

We received a warm welcome despite the shop being quite busy upon arrival. The kids chose chocolates from the many different flavours in the cabinet, staff were friendly and ever so patient with them. Could not fault our super hot, super frothy cappuccinos!

Honestly the very best hot chocolate I have had in the UK. Can be made dairy free if you wish which is equally sublime. Northumberland can be little on the chilly side...but this will warm the cockles!

This is raelly a cafe but its speciality is chocolate cake and chocolates and chocolat ebars and chocolate eggs and well everything chocolate

Looked interesting from the outside, so went in for coffee - cost us £30+ but not complaining!!!Not much room for coffee but a wide variety of chocolate and other sweetie things on sale.

One of the best chocolate shops we have found (anywhere). If you like cherries, you simply must try the cerise chocolates - real cherries in liqueur surrounded by dark chocolate - absolutely delicious, although you have to watch out for the cherry stone inside. Also suggest that you try the salted caramel truffles - yummy.There are a couple of tables where you can have a coffee, tea or hot chocolate, accompanied by some cakes. The staff are very helpful, finding nut free choices for our daughter who is allergic to them. The boxes are beautifully wrapped to take home. Well worth visiting.

We went in for hot drinks with a friend who was visiting, I had best cappuccino I've tasted for a long time, Our friend had a diary free hot Chocolate which looked and tasted delicious. Good choice of gifts. We would.definately go back.

Huge variety of delicious hand made chocolates, chocolate animal shapes, bars, boxes.. Hot chocolates. Perfect for gifts or as a treat to yourself.

Fabulous handmade chocolates. The rose and violet fondants are a favourite with me and my daughter. The truffles and ganaches are also delicious, and our younger children love the animal-shaped chocolates (sheep, pigs, etc.).

I really like this shop, it offers a good range of quality chocolate products and a friendly and helpful attitude.

Nota lot of seating but we can usually get seated to enjoy hot drinks, ices and loads and loads of types of chocolate. Eat in and take-away...

I came here with my family for the hot chocolate and to buy some chocolate....but the lady serving us was just unpleasant and rude. I had my hot chocolate but didn't want to buy any chocolate from this lady. The hot chocolate was alright - It is the very thick European style - nothing to write home about. The service was so off-putting I just wanted to leave.

Right in the heart of Alnwick, a great place to stop for coffee and cake for only £3.50. Delicious home-made cake and great tasting coffee, a welcoming and friendly service. A delicious chocolate was served with the coffee also (nice touch) and there are lots of chocolate gifts and sweets as well as ornaments to choose from in the cafe to take home with you.

all you need, simple as that, no more to say! Superb coffee/chocolate shop. We were served a free chocolate with our coffee, it was sublime, so good! Buy excellent chocolates, liquorice, old fashioned sweets. We loved everything!!! 12 out of 10! I recommend !

One of the best hot chocolates I have by far! Actually tasted of chocolate and not watery mix like so many places! Staff were very freindly and the complimentary chocolate delicious!

Popped in for some fudge and the smell of chocolate hits you as soon as you walk in the shop - delicious. There were samples on the counter of their ginger fudge (also delicious) and the range of chocolates and other sweet products is delightful.

Small but nice. Staff friendly. Had a nice seat it the window watch the world go by. Bought a few treats to bring home to friends lovely selection.

My daughter and I stopped by on the way for a facial in a local business. We had just had a disappointing lunch at THE TREEHOUSE but were very pleased with this little patisserie / confiserie. Unpretentious and great service with quality products. Chocolates are not handmade but a great selection from UK and European suppliers. Lovely Easter range for adults and children. Owner was very friendly towards locals and visitors alike. Not sure about exploiting the Harry Potter theme - the business does not need to lean on that connection.
