Chineside in Bournemouth

Lovely cafe but the toilets are unisex which made me feel very uncomfortable. Don't know why they've done this? Good way to lose customers! I won't be going back.

Ok for quick breakfast, eggs Benedict are normally on the colder side, waitresses are ok but could definitely be friendlier, service is quick

I ordered the fish and chips. It was of the highest quality. The portion was large and reasonably priced. It came with a home made mushy pea and tartare sauce side. Good Job

Popped down to the seafront for a walk and a bite to eat Sat upstairs on the very sunny terrace - we both had ciabatta with chips and side salad. One bbq chicken and the other ham and cheese. Both were lovely and accompanying chips excellent Coffee was also good. Prices reasonable and service friendly and efficient Recommended

We had the fish & chips which I was so looking forward too! Fresh white cod in a crispy bubbly batter. Not! Unfortunately the fish they are serving is a frozen product which was very dissatisfying & totally mad when they are on the sea front with fresh fish on the doorstep. My question is does Bournemouth actually have a proper fish & chip shop? Pop down to Weymouth & there is an abundance of good fish & chip shops. Poor show Bournemouth!👎

Had a delicious breakfast with stunning views what more could you ask for. 3 of us had the pancake stack with streaky bacon mapple cryup and a fried egg and my son had the larger breakfast. All was cooked really well and very good quality produce. Coffee was really good as well best I have had in a while. Thought it was reasonably priced and service was also really good with food arriving fairly quickly despite it being pretty busy.

We had on previous occasions had breakfast which was nice but decided to have lunch about a week later as it was a lovely sunny day and sat on the upper terrace. Unfortunately we had to leave after 15 mins as it was clear nobody seemed to be serving tables or noting when people arrived, even after prompting the staff they seemed disinterested. There was clearly no system being employed by the staff, no supervision, so if you decide to use the terrace make sure you introduce yourself to the staff before you sit down and ask them to follow you to the table. We weren't the only ones, other people had to do the same. I advised the staff downstairs on my way out and went and had a lovely meal at the Italian restaurant a little further down the promenade.

This is a new positive review to replace a 1 star review I gave last month, since deleted. The original experience was a bit of a catalogue of errors from Father's Day that spoiled our visit somewhat but after contacting the management about this, the response was exemplary and we received a full refund via a voucher to be used by the end of the year. I hadn't asked for or expected this level of generosity but having come back last week to spend the voucher for lunch at Chineside, we had a great experience on all fronts - customer service, speed of service, good quality/value food and drink and great weather! A five star review for this experience becomes a four star overall to take into account the original situation but I think that was an unfortunate outlier on what was clearly a very busy day for the staff involved. To summarise for those that haven't been, the location is superb and as good as you will find across the BCP seafront, there is a very good range of food and drink at pretty reasonable prices and from our experience here, valid customer service complaints are investigated and very fairly handled. Hopefully you will have no cause to complain though! Thanks very much again to Chineside for rectifying this one and I suspect we'll be back again soon.

I have been visiting Chineside since it opened. It appears to have changed hands, reducing both opening hours and customer service. When I visited this afternoon I could have a bacon bap from the takeaway section but no iced coffee. Yes, it was available in the sit down area next door but couldn't be brought through the door to the takeaway section. Luckily it is possible to buy a bacon bap and iced coffee at other seafront locations and at least £1 cheaper. A real shame that the previous high standards have slipped so much.

Really quick service, and as a solo diner, I did not feel awkward. Lovely breakfast and coffee, very reasonable price. Upbeat staff. I went back two days later for lunch with friends, again, brilliant.

We were looking for somewhere for breakfast and found this place near to where we were staying. It was excellent and we visited three times. Lovely to sit outside when the weather allowed but plenty of room inside. Dog friendly too. There was an excellent range on the menu, food is cooked to order and everything seems really fresh. Staff are very pleasant too - not always the case. Wish we had somewhere like this where we live. Highly recommend the American pancakes with fruit and Eggs Benedict too, also liked the sourdough toast.
