Amazing food perfect every time

Pretty much went straight in the bin.

Never had a bad Chinese until now - it honestly was the worst Chinese i have had... things over spiced / small containers than normal and VERY cheap rice... Every Asian knows what good and what poor rice is, this is the lowest of the low rice... Next time i will stick with Tang Hall Chinese, which is only a few doors away. Honestly try anywhere, but this place.

I bought some Chinese and was intrigued to see Mongolian options on the menu. I ordered a mix of Chinese and Mongolian options and was not disappointed, very well executed and amazing quantities. I will be going back again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

sadly not the same quality it used to be from china wok smaller portions more expensive the chicken batter balls are now just thick stoggy batter chicken curry is now in started trays not tubs like they used to be they no longer sell english dishes

Unfortunately my regular takeaway was closed so I ordered from China Wok. The service was great but please bits, sort your chicken out, Reformed chicken isn’t the thing to use when your running a takeaway. It’s disgusting, it took me a while to realise what it was. Stop using reformed chicken start using real chicken and you’ll have a lot more happy customers .

Nice food have always picked up so cannot comment on delivery. Good tasty portions

Went to collect and pay and because I had card and not cash the bloke went crazy "shouting forget it, forget it" waving his arms about and shut down shutters, so won't be using them again and looking at previous reviews don't think many people will be, I suggest he takes a course on people skills because his attitude was disgusting!

In my opinion the best Chinese in York by far. Just a shame that it's not open often!

Advertise as open till then but they are closing at 8. And that’s on a Saturday evening. Good food, good prices, but only if you are lucky enough for them to be open. I will take my mind off them just for this

So many problems about accepting orders and delivering on time. Cant rely on this place at all if you are really hungry.

Never had a chance to taste the food cuz both the times I've ordered from here they've cancelled my order. Not sure if it's a vendetta against me or if they don't like making salt and chilli chicken. I've decided not to like this place after last time I ordered they made me wait 40 minutes before cancelling my order. Safe to say I was one hungry guy.

Ordered takeawy..food nice..plenty rice but the tub sweet n sour was only filled half way...so short portion..good job id ordered chips

the meal we had last night revolved around starters big mistake the mixed starter was a bone with virtualy no meat, a small piece of dried up prawn toast a kind of dry crab claw took the lid off it was like scraps from a waste bin, the last time i used Happy Wok a couple of years was amazing then for some reason it closed for a while should have stayed closed we orded 1 main thinking with the starters we were getting would be suffice nope it did not come so a little over £20 thrown in the bin

Thankyou very much as always ..lovely food but.not sure iff tonight .maybe you had forgot to put the sugar in the seaweed .ummmm exceptionally salty

Mixed reviews, but our takeaway was really good. Chicken curry was good. The crispy beef and noodles was spot on. The Salt and pepper chips were excellent. Good value and fast service

A throwback to a time when you could get away with churning out any old food as the only Chinese in the area. If you’re happy with the bog standard Chinese takeaway food and want an unhealthy guilty pleasure then you’ll be fine. I enjoyed the tasty salt and pepper spare ribs although I knew there was little in the way of quality on them. The sweet and sour pork also had a full of flavour sauce that I enjoyed until I’d had enough. The chow mien was flavourless.

Wouldn’t even give this a raiting , ordered mixed starter for 2 which came with spring rolls , prawn toast , spare ribs and won tons came with a a drizzle of sweet n sour sauce most Chinese this usually comes with a tub spare ribs were dry and chewy spring rolls were peas sweet corn and no sauce in it was just like eating filo pastry with peas , prawn toast tasted greasy, the beef in ok sauce had no sauce was like a glue texture , gravy was like brown sesame seed oil , not like any Chinese I’ve known and have ordered from many places , would not order from here again unless I wanted prawn crackers which was the only thin that was nice all in all disappointing and waste of money , I would say disgusting

Really tasty food. We ordered 2 meals with sides and extras to share between two of us. Both enjoyed it, and were left suitably full. Highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken with curry sauce as an addition!

So far the reviews either loved it or hated it! I'm in the middle. I get it to a point - the food is flavoursome and the meat seemed ok quality, but for example the black bean prawn was loaded with salt and basically I'm just not loving it.

Bad food, vegetarian spring roll full of grease, lung poh came with a sauce that turned my plate a toxic colour, and tasteless

Second take away confirms stunning flavours not savoured in years. I have missed this type of food so much and it proves it's neither my tastebuds or memory that have been failing.We had the beef chow mien, chicken in Szechwan sauce and some mixed vegetables, also a portion of egg fried rice. All were excellent proving that it still can be doe. I have been disappointed with the standard and quality of Chinese food food years and had given up on it apart from occasional tests. no such problems here, Highly recommended. I'll be back.

We've used the China Wok twice now over around 2 weeks. Just outstanding. Had many takeaways over many years in many locations, but this place wins hands down. Used Just Eat, and both occasions the food was delivered within 5 minutes of the time suggested. Well happy.

we asked for forks and they gave them to us, we asked for no mushrooms in one of the orders and they werent in there, the delivery man was nice

Large king prawns, genuine recipe dishes and the odd free bottle of booze. Champion. The food isn't drenched in MSG and service is always swift (but not too swift if you know what I mean)

Ordered Special Curry, Special Chow Mien, Special Foo yung, Chicken Balls with Sweet/sour, Chips, Fried Rice and Boiled rice It was awful The balls where cubes or boiled chicken in a thick batter undercooked the source was like a taste or fruit squash, chips Soggy as hell they tasted of oil, Curry was alright but meat was chewy and tasteless and the curry sweet, Chow mien eatable but still poor again poor quality meat, Foo yung had a bad taste but eatable enough, rice was okay the boiled rice was a little too firm. The Free crackers were poor tasted of oil and burntnes sale of it in very cheap style packaging. How are these guys surviving, Tang hall Chinese is a better quality, I would never come here again I'll stick to my regular place thank you

No tengo ni idea de lo que el otro crítico está hablando. He ordenado de China Wok docenas de veces y siempre me ha impresionado. Buena comida, buen servicio, buena relación calidad-precio.Quizás, si quieres patatas fritas y salsa, deberías probar en otro lugar que no sea un restaurante chino ;)Una vez dicho esto, sus fichas en realidad han sido estelar cada vez que he estado.

Este es el peor chino y que es un muy buen hotel 1 minutos por la calle, así que hay que ir es Tang Hall chino esta China Wok es un espanto la salsa es como el agua y grasa y sabor de chips de Poo nunca vienen aquí a otro. No deberían venir aquí si te gusta la comida china
