Ordered on just eat, followed the tracking, said it was delivered but wasn't. I called the restaurant to be told they cancelled the order because it was £60!!! We'd waited over an hour, and I had to call to be told this. Told over the phone 'it's not our fault'!! Awful customer service. Don't bother

Absolutely the worst Chinese take away in York, over an hour late, not what I ordered, things missing, I saw the car turn up and it took her 7 minutes to get out of the car because she was doing her hair? £27 for rubber see through chicken and anemic noodles, don’t waste your time or money on this take away, they should do us all a favour and keep it there, never again, you have been warned. Have toast instead it’s more exciting..

THE only Chinese food worth eating in York,believe me I’ve tried most of them! Proper meat (no gristle) well cooked and seasoned and plenty of it. My weekend lifesavers.👏👏👏👍🫡

Outstanding first time ordering from china wok and I'm impressed sweet and sour chicken balls were really nice sweets and sour sauce was beautiful just like the 80,s tasty even though they charge for sweet and sour sauce comes with two pots for two pounds really great price, they even double bag the chicken balls with grease proof paper on the inside boiled rice was a perfect fair portion and cooked to perfection as you have read I'm very satisfied with there quality and service times etc etc I will definitely be ordering again I've had so many bad experiences in York with Chinese takeaway this was a breath of fresh air order with confidence much thanks 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 AAAAA

I usually order the same thing every time, crispy chilli beef and special curry which is always banging. Ordered salt and pepper chicken tonight for a change but wasn’t impressed. Think I will stick to my usual. Lovely delivery driver and fast delivery. Still my fave Chinese

Never had a bad Chinese until now - it honestly was the worst Chinese i have had... things over spiced / small containers than normal and VERY cheap rice... Every Asian knows what good and what poor rice is, this is the lowest of the low rice.

Both had Chow Mien’s - enjoyed!

Fast service and food was warm/hot and pretty tasty. The large spring roll isn't very crisp, I would get smaller ones next time. Didn't realise it was a giant roll 😁. Overall pretty happy with it.

I bought some Chinese and was intrigued to see Mongolian options on the menu. I ordered a mix of Chinese and Mongolian options and was not disappointed, very well executed and amazing quantities. I will be going back again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

sadly not the same quality it used to be from china wok smaller portions more expensive the chicken batter balls are now just thick stoggy batter chicken curry is now in started trays not tubs like they used to be they no longer sell english dishes

My order was delivered early by a really nice gentleman this is the first time I have ordered from this restaurant and I have to say it was first class! It was still hot and cooked to perfection, I ordered my favourite dishes which I've had many times before and this was one of the nicest! and there is plenty left for my dinner tomorrow, will definitely order again, great first impression! Worth every penny!

The smoked spam-like processed meat was dreadful and spoiled the meal. the meal had no chicken in it and had tiny pieces of beef the prawns were nice. The Spring roll was excellent.

Food was decent, good portion of chips & complimentary prawn crackers. Peking chicken was nice but very different tasting to what I’ve had before, but still nice. However the let down was the wings, didn’t taste of much and were sooo oily.

Disappointing. Not much chicken and what there was was tough and chewy. I think the veg in the kung po was frozen mixed veg - it wasn’t nice. Would be reluctant if o order again.

Best Chinese this side of the river

Unfortunately my regular takeaway was closed so I ordered from China Wok. The service was great but please bits, sort your chicken out, Reformed chicken isn’t the thing to use when your running a takeaway. It’s disgusting, it took me a while to realise what it was. Stop using reformed chicken start using real chicken and you’ll have a lot more happy customers .

Amazing food and good (big) portions that won't leave you hungry! Restaurant called to ask about address, food arrived on time, very nice drivers, restaurant even threw in a second bag of Krupuk. Thank you! Would order here again.

the food was very nice and arrived early but it was very cold.

Poor food overall salt and chill ribs/wings had now salt/seasoning and were just covered in chilli flakes. Green pepper with beef and black bean sauce had hardly any beef and was more veg then anything chips cold and soggy would not recommend this takeaway

Wow first time ordering & it was amazing. Can’t believe it’s been on our doorstep for years and we’ve never been as there is 2 on the same street. This is definitely my new favourite. Will most certainly be returning.

Went to collect and pay and because I had card and not cash the bloke went crazy "shouting forget it, forget it" waving his arms about and shut down shutters, so won't be using them again and looking at previous reviews don't think many people will be, I suggest he takes a course on people skills because his attitude was disgusting!

Absolutely amazing service. Ordered in advance of delivery starting with an ASAP time for delivery (once delivery started) but they called me around an hour before to ask if we were home and ten minutes later it was at our doorstep! Hot, tasty and great portion size. Above and beyond service received, a huge thumbs up every time! Thank you again.

Food is phenomenal every time, we’ve ordered from here for a long time and always try something new..! Delicious. Delivery was on time, it was and hour and half but probably to be expected with it being peek time on a Saturday night and a popular takeaway, so understandable. Piping hot on delivery too. Lovely place. Highly recommend.

Large spring roll was tasty and crispy 9/10 Singapore noodles were not the vermicelli style but a thicker egg noodle. Not a lot of content either other then bean sprouts and onions. Spicy but not something we would order again from here 4/10 Special sweet and sour was ok but sauce was too thin and tangy, again lots of onions and for the price not a lot of chicken, pork but a few nice prawns 6/10 Overall £17 including delivery which is not bad but the noodles let it down for me.

Sorry to say we have had good takeaways from this restaurant but not this time. The low point was the sweet and sour sauce which glowed radioactive and tasted of orange tango

Food just really didn’t taste nice, tasted cheap. £4.50 for prawn toast that tasted like cardboard, beef sichuan will nearly no beef and chicken fried rice with barely any chicken. Will not order from here again

Food wait time was long- originally said 60 minutes prior to ordering but then changed to 1hr 40- 2 hour wait time, which I would never have ordered if I had known I would be waiting so long. Salt and pepper chicken was way too spicy- was absolutely covered in chilli flakes so no flavour, just spice. The spring rolls were nice and crispy but were filled with frozen mixed veg- carrots, peas, sweetcorn etc rather than beansprouts as you’d expect so wouldn’t get those again. Rice and chips were good though and price was ok.

Advertise as open till then but they are closing at 8. And that’s on a Saturday evening. Good food, good prices, but only if you are lucky enough for them to be open. I will take my mind off them just for this

Food was very slightly late but it was hot on arrival so no problems there. Delivery driver was friendly and restaurant informed me where they would bring the food as I live on the uni campus. Chow mein was a little wet for my liking and not many noodles in it but still tasted lovely. Particularly liked the crispy peking chicken

This is our go to Chinese takeaway. Unfortunately it was a bit cold on this occasion so had to pop in the microwave. Was tasty once it was hot.

So many problems about accepting orders and delivering on time. Cant rely on this place at all if you are really hungry.

Out usual Chinese was closed so we tried the CHINA Wok. Ordered online. Arrived bang on the dot and hot. We ordered. Veg Spring rolls. Special curry. Chicken Curry. Sweet and sour chicken batter balls. Salt n pepper Ribs. Boiled and fried rice. Chips. Plain noodles. Received free Prawn crackers We couldn't fault a thing.

Never had a chance to taste the food cuz both the times I've ordered from here they've cancelled my order. Not sure if it's a vendetta against me or if they don't like making salt and chilli chicken. I've decided not to like this place after last time I ordered they made me wait 40 minutes before cancelling my order. Safe to say I was one hungry guy.

Always order from here as it is the best have found in York. Always deliver before time states too and last nite was super quick. Have started having the bbq ribs and getting a slight addiction to them 😋😋

Gave perfectly straight forward instructions on where to meet for delivery as I live on a university campus. Driver went to a completely different street and tried to tell me it’s the “designated pick up point” for takeaways on my campus (there is no designated areas), I’ve lived in my location for 3 years and never had an issue with delivery drivers from other restaurants in York going to my actual address. Driver also asked me afterwards when I got to the car where my actual address was (maybe just use your GPS and follow the actual address given on the just eat order?). Overall the food was really nice and I can’t fault that, this isn’t a dig at the food at all, it’s the delivery which made the experience annoying. Unfortunately I’ll be avoiding this place in the future and choosing a restaurant that I trust with delivering to my actual address. The “pick up area” is 5 minutes walk from my actual address and there’s new flats even further back from me which would take them 10+ minutes out if they were told to go to the “pick up area”. I understand the driver may usually deliver there, but it’s not a designated area, please make sure they follow actual delivery instructions as one day the customer may not have the accessibility I do to travel out to the street the driver chooses. I recommend to anyone if they’re on a university campus to make sure the driver is at your actual address when they say they’re outside, as they probably aren’t there. Food amazing, delivery was very poor.

Mostly lovely food, only complaint was that the OK sauce was pretty unusual. Never had it taste as it did here.
