China Restaurant in Argyll & Bute

Great quality food and fairly priced. Delivery is usually speedy but can be late at peak times (understandable). I ordered via phone (no online service available) but the staff are friendly and clearly understood over the phone. No stars for atmosphere as I have not eaten in although the restaurant looks nice and clean inside and out (I have collected in person in the past).

Put in a order tonight got home to find one of our meals was mixed up with someone else, they were so apologetic and replaced the full meal adding prawn crackers, my mixed seafood grill was absolutely delicious 😋 thanks!!

We actually read some of the bad reviews and thought to ourselves “maybe it’s just the people, there are other good reviews”… Well, let me tell you about those other good reviews… Zero standards! If you want your ice touched, not shaken, this is the right place for you! Oil overflowing starters “to die for”… Stir fried rice was passable but the start of the show was the charred pan leftovers from the noodles served on the table before us. Oh, and if you like to pay for 80% of the soda your order just because it doesn’t fit the glass, guess what? The waiter was thirsty! 10/10 would NOT come back…

Very popular restaurant with a steady stream of people collecting takeaway meals. We sat in and had a few drinks and enough food to feed two hungry blokes. The quality of the dishes was good and in line with the anglo-chinese expectations. I'm spoilt because of my time living and working in the Far East so it would need to be excellent to gain a five-star food rating from me.

Really enjoyed our meal here .. I had best prawn cocktail in here in many a year. The crispy beef i had was lovely and my wife said her barbecue ribs & beef curry were bang on also. Decent priced play and service was spot on. Deffo be back again cheers. A well run ship 👏👌

I came here first time, and ask soup with chicken and mushrooms... It's stink... At start I wanted to order only one soup just because I want to try and make decision am I want other soup or the same, but then old waiter said to me that I should to order at least 2 positions. So I ordered 2 not tasty soups.. And now I have really bad feelings about this plase. Waiter was not friendly at all..

I absolutely love this restaurant. Food tastes incredible it is just so great. Service is very quick and the staff are plenty nice. Overall, definitely deserves 5 stars. Will go again every time I'm in the area.

Cannot believe that people have rated this dismal restaurant any more than a one star people say they couldn't believe they got a table at 9 ona Saturday night without booking the reason is that it is without doubt the worst Chinese restaurant i have ever had the misfortune to eat in , damp ,cold having to shout your order above the drunks ordering carry outs, old Chinese gentleman continually asking if you had finished, The price of drinks would have made a4star hotel barman embarrassed to ask you for, all in all an hour and a half of my life I can't get back.

Although rhe restaurant was quiet, the food was excellent and just what we were looking for. Nothing "special", just good and honest Chinese food. The table was a bit 'bare' when we sat down. Having a bit of thought in dressing the tables might be quite nice, and have water served on arrival would be a nice touch, and a reason for having some glassware on the table? Overall, though, thoroughly enjoyed the food - thank you.

Called restaurant to check delivery was available in my area. I was told that they delivered as far as North Connel. I live twoMiles /10 minutes outside Oban so thought perfect. Selected choices with my friend then called back to place order and gave my postcode. Was then told that there was no delivery to my address and when I asked the reason why I was told the driver did not deliver to my address but was given no reason why. On pushing for a reason I was told the driver does not deliver to the middle of nowhere . Even though I had been told they deliver ‘as far as North Connel’ gentleman on phone then proceeded to say I told him I lived in North Connel - I live in Glencruitten and at no time did I say I lived in Nortg Connel - why would I ???? Not great customer service when answering questions on delivery perhaps staff should enquire as to the address of customer before saying they can deliver. Not happy at all. Suggestion recruit delivery drivers that can confidently drive on all Argyll roads within delivery radius.

If your looking for a takeaway in Oban this hits the spot fancied a Chinese meal and it was perfect not too spicy or bland been here every time I visit Oban . Don’t let the 3 stars fool you should be a 4-5 star

We were looking for somewhere to eat and it was 9.30 pm on a Sat night. It's not a huge restaurant but we got a table as there was only two of us. The service was great , staff lovely and food was delicious 😋 👌

The servers were very attentive. It was also delightfully easy to get a table. The decor was nothing special. Nor was the food. It was much too expensive for the portion and lack of flavor.

We got as far as sitting at a table before deciding we could absolutely not eat here. The fusty smell hit us as soon as we entered the building which increased the further into the restaurant we got. I can only describe it as an overwhelming stink of fusty, damp, drain smell mixed with the smell of cooking.

Solid British Chinese restaurant. Very satisfied with the beef curry and fried rice and hot and sour soup, it was exactly what I was looking for. Good portion size, plenty of quality beef, quick turn around. They only take cash up to £20 which is a pain.

Not real Chinese in my view. Dishes are all starchy. If you crave for hot Chinese food after being deprived for weeks, this will still work. Not many choices in Oban.

Food was ok. Nothing special. The welcome what can I say?! There wasn’t one! When asking about food and portion size , the waitress was rather rude. Felt uncomfortable with manager practically hanging over us eating our meal. No kids options. Poor show. Won’t be back would rather eat a chippy down at the water and take my chances with the seagulls! Drab joint, rude waitress ( one waitress) other younger waitress was very nice: Bit pricey for the food as well, you don’t mind paying if it’s good! I’d of been better buying a packet of mayflower powder sauce from farm foods and cooking my own! I’ll say no more you get the picture.

Off the main path for sure... But they could seat us on a Saturday evening. The service was good. The food came out quicker than expected - and was good. Five mains - no issues. Much better than what we typically get in a mid-priced American Chinese restaurant.

We ordered take away food chicken fried rice and fried rice and curry sauce, the food was disgusting totally inedible, it all went in the bin.

We were looking for an alternative to fish & chips. So we decided on Chinese. None of the four of us liked it. Seldom eaten so badly. Be warned, but feel free to gather your own experiences.

We were a bit apprehensive before going here because of some poor reviews but so glad we give it a go! The food was amazing. We had barbecue spare ribs to start...stunning! I had garlic chilli king prawn with fried rice which was delicious. My husband had beef curry with fried rice. Dont believe everything you read in the poor reviews. Give it a try and see for yourself, we did and was very happy with every aspect and would definitely visit this place again when we are next back in Oban😁

Ok meal ruined by a very loud local sounding member of staff discussing her life story behind the counter. I’m sorry but if you want to charge restaurant prices you need to create an ambient surrounding. This was unacceptable. £57 for 2 starters 2 mains and 2 drinks seemed expensive considering we can order the same in any Chines restaurant in the centre of Glasgow for around £35. My fiance is a chef, he said his chicken curry looked like picked chicken leg meat rather than breast. It is not worth the money.

Lauren was a brilliant host. Very welcoming and the whole team looked after us. Even after I left my purse they ran down the street to find me! Would recommend to anyone visiting the area of Oban and wanted a little Chinese indulgence.

We ordered takeout for collection. Great food (Salt and Pepper ribs and pork chow mein were amazing!), good portion sizes and good price (certainly cheaper than back home in Newcastle). We’re quite fussy eaters when it comes to Chinese (travel 30 miles for ours back home rather than more local ones) and this was really good - just what we needed after a day of sightseeing :)

Can't say a bad word about the place. Wee bit pricey but you get what you pay for. £20 minimum spend to pay by card is a bit of a ball ache but if your buying two meals chances are you'll be over 20 quid anyway.

Horrible food and rip off. The satay was pre heated and tasted very bad. Fried rice looked preheated. Then they brought the bill and charged us 30£ for 2 meals. Yesterday had fresh fish for 2 for 29£

My wife and I visited here whilst in Oban for our first wedding anniversary and loved it! We ordered a wide selection of food (Chinese tapas style) and enjoyed every bit of the food. So fresh and tasty. The staff were lovely and friendly, taking the time to chat to us at our table. It is possibly one of our favourite Chinese restaurants and felt like a home from home when it comes to Chinese food. When we return to Oban we will absolutely be back!

Beautiful food and very friendly and efficient staff. I highly recommend that you dine here if you are in Oban. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and it has never disappointed.

Ordered a tofu with bean sauce dish. The fried tofu cubes were magically empty on the inside, basically a very chewy, unappetizing, spongy shell. The bean sauce flavor was okay. The person taking my order seemed to have a hard time understanding my english, so it's easiest if you don't try to make any changes or substitutions. I found out after I ordered that they do not accept card payment below £20. I had no cash. I would have just walked out if they didn't take my card.

Not recommend. Taking order now only possiable by take away what i found out after paid. Fries not salted overall poor quality. My take away order didn’t include any cutlery. First and last time there.

The meal will much better than I expected, it was cooked to perfection and really tasty.

This Chinese is not disability friendly. We had a table booked for 6 of us but we were unable to make the booking due to having a wheelchair. When we said about there being no other way in they said "well it's only 6 steps". The food may be nice but we weren't able to try it.

Was initially dubious because of a few bad reviews, but really enjoyed dinner. Restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. A lady and her son were serving us and they were both lovely. Food was really tasty and quick, especially seen as the takeaway was very busy. Seen a lot of comments about it being pricey but I think it was very reasonably priced. No more expensive than any other restaurant these days.

As someone reviewed, the price on the menu displayed in front of the restaurant and its Facebook are different from the menu on the table in the restaurant. It is really misleading even if any conditions are described somewhere.

I have been in and tried lost of Chinese restaurants in my life. And beleave me this is the worst I have ever been in. As soon as we had walked in we should have went with our gut instincts and walked straight back out. As the place smelt off damp and let's just say not the cleanest.
