First time in Worthing with a friend and what a treat. Beautiful restaurant, wonderful food, lovely authentic decor and great service

First time here. Was for a work thing. The food was great. The servers were great. There were 15 of us and no-one had anything negative to say. Only praise.

3 servers were friendly and helpful, boss who took the money ignored us and the only thing he said was "you want the receipt"? On the way out a waiter thanked us. The food was good but not exceptional. Table at the bar area, very noisy, avoid!

Staff are super friendly and very relaxing restruant. Unfortunately There's So much lost pretental sadly. First of all I don't think there should be an all you can eat for £23 that itself lose profit. Upon arriving the restruant we ended up on floor 2 which is an abandoned part of the restaurant due to not enough demand. Once we arrived the restruant is huge but we where the only ones here! Very sad by the looks of the restruant. Unfortunately they did budget cut aswell as the issues they used felt like toilet paper for meals. Also the toilet cubicle has windows which is concerning when you're going toilet.

Great service and quick, tasty food

Lovely restaurant , but always empty at lunchtime. Nice food but rice portions far too small, and I like my rice served on my plate first then add the curry. Improve these points and the restaurant will be better Plates not hot. Stone cold

Utter rubbish , old cold food , grey soggy seaweed , rubber xsquid, unedible smoked chicken i could go on but words fail me , possibly the worst food I have ever had the unfortunate pleasure of experiencing. I think a call from the health inspector is required , I cannot under rate this place enough . RUBBISH IS BEING POLITE

Ordered a take away got there it wasn’t ready had to wait, and then one of the meals I ordered was a soupe, and I asked for a spoon as I was taking the food to the working hospital and the waiter said we don’t have spoon you can just drink it. Great this is how you answer a customers that just spent over £70 so never be back again, and honestly the food is rubbish, not sure if they are serving the same food when you are eating in!!

We were mainly served by Nick, who was very attentive but not intrusive. All the waiters were very nice and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were spot on. Will definitely be returning .

The food is served to order. People say that you have to pay .... never . They are lovely people genuine folk. The only problem was 1 time ... 1 time, I didn't get served drinks for a while. But I cannot takeaway the fact they are beautiful people and wholesome community

Visited for a Birthday meal, 5 of us. The service was fantastic, all staff are very friendly and will do anything to make your visit enjoyable. They made us laugh a bunch of times. Food was very very good, everything was hot, fresh and tasty and of course unlimited as long as you finish what you order! We will be back after their annual holiday - (12th May to 6th June)! Hope all the staff enjoy their vacation Thank you and keep up the good work

I attended restaurant for my father-in-law's 80 birthday lunch and had an excellent meal with excellent service. As a large group that included vegan and vegetarian customers plus a six-year-old child, we were not the easiest group but were made to feel very welcome and were looked after really well. Thank you to all the staff at China Palace.

My favourite place to eat Chinese food

We go to China Palace about once a year for a friends birthday. We all like the food and atmosphere is good. Was unusually quiet that evening, but we think it was because it was the Easter weekend.

If I could do minus I would. Late delivery, cold food, spring rolls look like someone had sat on them, French fries with abit of pepper but forgotten to be cooked? Never ordering from them again

Went for family meal. We love this restaurant. There were 8 of us but service was a bit slack. Had to wait a while to order more drinks. Cannot fault the food, its fantastic.

Great food with a lovely atmosphere and good value for money. Every time we come here staff are so friendly and always come over to check if we need anything else. Staff are great at recommending dishes too. Portion sizes in the all you can eat are perfect. Not too big or too small and great for anyone who is indecisive or wanting to try new things without wasting food. Would definitely recommended and will be back again.

Nice restaurant and lunch time special menu very good. We visited Saturday 17th at 1 pm having been shopping in Worthing. We both had Chicken and sweetcorn soup which was delicious, and mains were chicken curry and Sweet and Sour Chicken, both served with rice. Generally , I would say the food was very good , however a few tips would be always serve plates hot and not cold and increase the rice size portion as too small. Our plates were stone cold ....

We came here on Chinese New Year and loved it! Service was attentive, fast and friendly, the food was absolutely delicious and so well cooked. There were many veggie and vegan options including vegetarian duck pancakes, mock chicken satay skewers, bean curd etc. All you can eat menu is actually good value for money, because you can try all different things then order your favourites again. Decor was really impressive too. We will definitely be returning, thank you!

Ordered via JustEat for lunch, used to go to the restaurant for dim sum and roast duck, pity they stopped doing that now. Asked for beef in black bean sauce no veg, and although beef are small slices, there are plenty, at least 20-25 small pieces of meat, very generous, and the beef is proper marinated, very tender and soft, love it. Noodles are nice and great portion too, just managed to finish all by myself 😅. Chicken and sweet corn soup is fine, and it's how it should be. No free Prawn Crackers, the meal comes to £21.40 including delivery and Justeat charges.

Bit pricey after drinks but a good experience

This place is amazing! I cannot believe it has bad reviews, food was fresh and tasty, all dishes were all small tapas sized dishes, so you had the opportunity to try more. Staff were really friendly and welcoming, definitely be returning.

Ordered a takeaway to collect on NYD. I chose China Palace because they indicate which food is gluten free on their menu. Food was ready on time and piping hot. Everything we ordered was delicious and I will definitely be ordering from them again. Thank you China Palace!

We visited for lunch today and I can say we loved it! The staff were friendly and the service was speedy! Fresh food and so tasty, we opted for the All you can eat menu and didn’t go too crazy as we didn’t want to waste anything. We loved that you could pick a mixture of starters and mains and share plus you can always go back to starters if you wanted. All the dishes were hot and fresh, lots of flavour. Toilets clean, lovely Chinese ambience and chilled music. We can’t wait to return again! Thank you to all staff that worked on New Years Day.

Well... unsurprisingly, here we favor quantity over quality. It's expensive (£33) even at will. So-so.

Food is great here. All you can eat, and we definitely had our moneys worth. Staff are friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately we will not be returning to this establishment as we're not offered a choice of menu.

First time visiting after a recommendation from a friend and I must admit I was disappointed. We were sat for ages before anyone came over to take our drinks order, and then even longer for food, which was a bit awkward. We also had to ask three times for a glass of water! The duck pancakes were all stuck together so just ripped when trying to take them apart. They are my step daughters favourite so it was a shame she gave up half way through eating. The food was nice but the vegetable spring rolls hardly had any filling and the dishes didn’t contain much meat! All you can eat menu is £30 a head which isn’t too bad! One good thing was how great the restaurant were at responding to booking requests and amendments. They replied quickly which was appreciated! The decor is nice and it’s a lovely big restaurant, it could be brilliant if they improved the little things!

This restaurant is super comfortable and spacious. We live in Hong Kong and find it hard to get authentic Chinese food in UK. The China Palace served up delicious ‘real’ Cantonese food and the service was top notch. Nick went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We will definitely be going back soon. Ask for the Chinese menu if you know your ‘Hor Fan’ from your ‘Bak Choi’ :)

Visited last month with friends for a late Xmas get together. Was a great evening out. Food was really nice and the staff were attentive.

We visited China Palace pre-pandemic and the all you can eat was around £15-20pp, it was good value for money and food was really good, not excellent but good. We visited again last night for NYE and it was terrible, £28.75pp and every single dish was covered in a gluetenous , salty sauce. The meat was tasteless and the vegetables, broccoli, pak choi etc, which should have been fresh were again covered in a sticky garlic sauce. Overall a real shame, as the service and the venue are great, food definitely not great!

Too expensive if you don't eat alot

We ate her a few weeks ago for a work event, the food was very good but as a gluten free person the menu was very small. I ate what I could eat and enjoyed the atmosphere at the table with my work colleagues. The staff were very attentive and catered for our needs which was brilliant. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to people who haven't got allergens.

Excellent food, swift and polite service, well trained staff. I ordered from the buffet menu (cooked to order) and I enjoyed Mussels in Black Bean Sauce, Plain Noodles and Chicken in Ginger and Spring onion. The food was perfect! I noticed that the chicken had been "velveted" which is THE way to prepare the dish! All in all, a lovely meal in a very nice restaurant.

Been going here on and off for years and always good quality food. They have recently hiked their fixed price to £25 plus 10% service which is a bit steep so will think twice before returning as there is much better value elsewhere. Shame

Visited for lunch. Menu choices very limited. The soup was drowned in pepper and was awful. The rice was reheated as opposed to fresh and one has to be suspicious of any establishment that automatically adds 10% to the bill for a tip.. Will not...

Really good food and a great atmosphere. Our waiter was a really good laugh and had some great banter. We were well looked after. Watch that service charge though 😉

Visited with friends, all you can eat buffet really reasonably priced. Food was amazing and portions were a good size. Crispy shredded beef was really crispy and light, plenty of duck with the pancakes and chicken chow main was delicious Will definitely return

This is the first time we've been to China Palace for about 5 years, and I'm pleased to say that the food is as excellent as it was then. Delicious, well presented dishes, with first class service. Worth every penny for top quality food.

Overpriced and not so tasty dishes ... food in here used to be great... but not anymore... £170 for 4 adult and a child, definitely not worth it, there are much better options out there, definitely not coming back again...

Good range of options, brilliant service and reasonably priced

£9.50 for large glass of wine, exorbitant! Food very average. Every dish looked like the same sauce.

Having visited many all you can eat Chinese restaurants this was disappointing. We had smoked chicken salt pepper chicken ribs and chicken satay to start. All tasted the same and were very dry. The main course of shredded chilli beef and sweet and sour chicken balls were also very dry. I suspect all had been under heat lamps for a long time. The portion sizes were large. The service was quick but basic and not worth the 10% service charge added.

We came here as China Palace in Arundel was fully booked and seeing as their linked thought it would be a good meal! The food was disgusting, tasteless, duck was dry! Plain chowmein was just soft noodles and smelt vile! The curry you could only taste strong spices, anther chicken dish again had no taste! I spoke to the waiter and he seemed uninterested and moody that I said we didn’t enjoy the meal! Then said speak to the manager! Again he was uninterested and kept tidying up whilst speaking to him! So we both ended up paying £21 for a small starter and dried out duck! Will never eat there again! If you want a good Chinese go to China palace in arundel they have much better chefs!

Did well considering current climate with Covid. Polite and efficient. Food Good, quick service and standards good, despite being a Sunday evening. Sons birthday ( I did advise) but no mention! Price well over expectations!!

I've only discovered this place in the last month and I think this is a diamond of a restuarant- I've been there twice now. Firstly it is HUGE. So plenty of spacing between tables, which means you can socially distance AND have a private conversation. I think the staff are super- attentive, polite, good sense of humour despite the fact that they must be hot wearing masks. My favourite dishes are: salt and pepper prawns, hong kong sweet and sour prawns, chop suey and veggie sprinmg rolls. I do love the prawns. Loads of vegetarian dishes to choose from. Thank you to all the staff for making it a good meal out. I'm giving it 5* across the board esp as one of the guys remembered I liked the salt and pepper prawns.

Service was slow and got lied to about there not being any prawn crackers left. Shame loved this place once

Visited for the first time this year last night and was very disappointed with the food. Chicken starters were deep fried multiple times leaving the chicken hard and chewy. Salt and pepper squid was just a mound of greasy batter with a few bits of squid thrown in to give something to chew on. It was also very full, all tables were occupied with no distances between tables. It did not seem like government guidelines on distancing were being followed.

We couldn't believe the size of this restaurant (first floor) and the tables were very close together, the staff were wearing masks however. Good price for "eat as much you like" but we didn't think the food had been cooked fresh as it was out very quick plus the chicken satay as well as the squid was very chewy. The duck was quite dry too. Some dishes were lovely though.10% service charge was also added which is a lot to a large booking bill. Not sure we would return

Went tonight(Wednesday) with friends. We have eaten here probably once a month until recently(covid19) for circa 12years. Up until the last few visits the food, service and overall experience was very good and whilst the prices had increased very year or so we were satisfied enough to pay the bill.That changed tonight. unfortunately they have lost both my familys and friends custom going forward. The reason: let down by service and food quality to be frank. Our drinks were incorrectly served on two occasions and had to ask the waitress to serve correct drinks. We had to keep reasking for portions to be served after delays. The main meal was served very slowly. Food portion size smaller. Food wasnt as nice as previous visits. Both my wife and our friends eldest son never received their main meal and we waited so long that in the end we said we were abandoning the meal as it was too late to.eat.What upset us a lot was that we spoke to the manager and voiced in a nice way that we were not happy but we still were presented with a bill for full payment as well as full service charge. The way we were treated by the manager really demonstrated that our custom didnt matter.Very disappointed China Palace owner and management. You have lost our custom going forward.

Went on an Eat Out To Help Out deal, the place was packed to the rafters!! We could see how busy they were but after 20 minutes without drinks I had to go to the bar. After that they couldn’t be more helpful. We had a lovely night and the food was fantastic.

The food is average at best! The service is terrible with staff ignoring us for most of our visit, and no apology given. The only out I could give them is that it was a very busy evening , but in my book, that is no excuse for the service we were provided. Please do your best to avoid this place.

There were very few staff but allowing huge numbers of customers in. The tables were as close and no different to normal, with people around the tables very close. No social distancing measures whilst waiting for a table. Our waiter had his mask under his nose. 1st course was ok, duck was inedible. Crispy was an understatement. Main course took forever and 2 of our main courses didnt arrive till after the others had finished and our rice and noodles stone cold. Large glass of wine £9.50. We didnt pay service charge and they made no comment. I have been to this place dozens of times and liked it alot. This visit was shockingly bad in every way.

Been here quite a few times for a big occasion with work or friends. Food is nice, best ribs by far!!My friend is Vegan and she could get a decent meal. She was very happy with the variety of food available.On this visit not all the staff were very attentive. We ordered drinks that never turned up and by the time we could ask a member of staff where our drinks were we were ready to leave. The drinks were also added to the bill.£20.80 all you can eat is very expensive. The drinks are also pricey. I've been to cheaper places across the UK. To think you could order mountains of food for one person from a takeaway with that amount. I'd only come again if they lowered the prices or if I wasn't paying.They also didn't have an social distancing in place. When we went to leave the venue the queue to get in was going out the door so nowhere to exit. We had to squeeze past people. No tape or barriers in place. No tables removed to make extra room.

This is a huge restaurant. Its narrow ground floor frntage belies the extensive first floor seating area. It has an "all you can eat" menu, which we weren't used to, resulting in our main courses arriving with our starters. The restaurant seems to be geared to large parties, as most tables had 8 to 12 people at each. Service was fine, with lots of staff. The food was very good too, although served on cold dishes, but the atmosphere poor, as it was a bit like eating in a factory.

Quite possibly the worst food I've ever been served. I'll not go into boring details, but this isn't Chinese food, although according to the manager, the standard is "good enough for this town" - make of that what you want Worthing. Service from the girls was good, but the 'manager' needs to go back to customer care school, became very rude and arrogant when presented with the truth of his food.... Wouldn't sample any of the 6 dishes I rejected, which kinda says it all. Avoid like the plague.

Been here a few times but the latest meal was a bit disappointing .... the Thai curry my wife ordered was bland and did not look or taste like any Thai curry we had ever had before. Nevertheless the rest of the dishes ordered were good. Be prepared for a 10% service charge to be added which makes the place quite expensive - especially for drinks which are not cheap even before the service charge is added

Good portion sizes but starters are mainly all deep fried. Lots of salty dishes too so the drinks bill can add up as you quench that thirst. Can get very busy. If you choose well you can really stuff your face for a reasonable price. Good for a blow put or family party.

I'd say my family and I have eaten here over 100 times. We first found it 8/9 years ago, when we moved to Worthing, and have been regulars since then for their lunch-time Dim Sum. The food is precisely what you'd expect. Clean, fresh flavours, and a delightful array of steamed and fried dishes to choose from. I'm simply bewildered at some of the negative reviews here, but would safely assume that most people who are critical have gone for the all-you-can-eat buffet menu, which isn't really Chinese food at all. Go along, order 6 Dim Sum per couple and you can't go wrong! My daughters love it and it feels like a second home to us!

Went for a works night dinner and was so disappointed. We had to wait ages for each course and the portions were very small. From the start to the end of my meal was two and a half hours. The service was very slow and I certainly didn't have even £20.80 worth of food let alone all one could eat! I'd have probably had to have stayed there for another hour at least to get any sort of value for money. Came away hungry!! I think they don't have enough staff to deal with the amount of tables they have. Will never go there again.

The restaurant is upstairs, but there is a lift, so not a problem. Very large, but warm and comfortable. Good food, well presented and tasty. If you have the “eat all you want” menu, you need to be hungry! The mixed starter ( minimum of 2 people) was very tasty, the crispy duck was good and the Thai prawns excellent! Will return in the new year.

The best chinese I have been to for ages. Recommended by a local taxi driver. He knew what he was talking about ! This was quality dining by anyone's standards ! Everything cooked very well and quick service by very attentive staff.
