China Garden in Isle of Wight

Take away so I can’t say much about the atmosphere and same for the service we called in and picked it up but it was a solid 10/10 for food as me and the Mrs ate in silence

Started eating here when it opened seen it slowly go down hill expensive small portions slow delivery cold food not good will be eating here anymore I advise to think before ordering!

The food is very high quality with a reasonable price. Me and My friends bought noodles, soup and rice. And we all enjoyed it so much that we had to go for seconds! Definitely recommend!

Don’t go by the excellent reviews - they offer customers a freebie for 5 star reviews. Food was oily and wasn’t great to taste. They had turned of the data signal on their card machine so that they could get cash payments and save on vendor costs. Shameful!

My food was given wrong checked when I got home and I called if they could drop it off the right item and give the other item back and they asked for more money they also refused a refund and then hung up on me

The best Chinese we’ve had on the island so far and was ready within 20 minutes of ordering, staff were lovely

I’d give no stars if I could. Have used China Garden for many years now, but no more. Online order just took over 2 hours to arrive and when it did it was cold and I’m having to oven. Offered twenty percent of order. Told them where to stick it. Last two orders late, but 2 hours is not acceptable. Could have driven down and got it quicker myself. Won’t be using again.

The Cantonese duck is delicious, the best Chinese takeaway.

i usually always come here, always great food, but my last order made me feel sick, I ordered the sweet-and-sour pork pecking style and I pulled a massive red hair from it. So someone in that kitchen must have red hair because I found about five in my dinner even have a video and I don’t have red hair mines long and brown quite disappointed Someone can’t just wear a hairnet

My son and I had a fantastic meal from here. Friendly, quick service and the food was the best Chinese meal we'd tasted in a long time. Would definitely recommend.

Placed online order as were on holiday and fancied a treat. Order arrived on time and was hot so was impressed by that. However, the mixed starters were soo greasy and dripping in oil and the crispy wontons were a joke. We threw that away. The crispy beef was really bland so didnt eat that either. The chicken chow mein was nice and sweet and sour was ok - £35 for the only 2 edible dishes though was shocking.

Abit expensive service Good food was OK not worse I've had but nowhere near best

It was late, cold, I asked for NO MUSHROOMS in the chow mein and its got mushrooms in, I asked for extra onions in the Vegetarian smoked chicken and they are not even cooked. I just wanted a hot meal with my family after doing a 12 hour shift I am now having toast. Not what you expected when you have spent £36.

Love this Chinese. Delivery can take bloody hours so always best to do order online and collect.

Just had food from the China Garden takeaway. Only had to wait 10 mins for my food and it was very nice. Would definitely recommend !!

Lovely food, which we collected and was still hot when we got back to our hotel. All satisfied with the tasty dishes including vegan options. Would definitely order from here again the next time we are in Shanklin

Just wanted a extra spoon and they refused to give. I bought food for like £30. Very disappointed

Uncooked Food Not Nice! So disappointed this evening when I collected a No14 Smoked Chicken, described as shredded chicken with caramelised chilli and garlic. There was no caramelisation, the garlic was completely raw and white, there was a sweet taste of what I think was sugar (maybe to help caramelise, but not cooked) and not a chilli in sight. It was so bad, I had to cook it myself as raw garlic was not good. I love hot food, so the missing chilli was a problem for me. This was our first trip to China Garden, and unfortunately it will be our last. If we had been nearer I would have returned the dish, as trading standards would agree it was not as described, and not cooked! I hope the chicken was cooked separately, which I guess it was, but if I get food poisoning, I will be in touch!

Lovely takeaway, all lovely and hot when we got home really good

Wide ranging menu. Great service. Really enjoyed the food which is delicate yet tasty - not stodgy - with quality ingredients and cooked just right. The crispy duck is to die for! Definitely recommend.

Awful service. Waited 90 mins for food, when quoted 60 mins!! Phoned the restaurant twice to enquire, the guy we spoke to had a very bad attitude. When the food eventually arrived, the driver was lovely and very apologetic

Awful staff... Misinformed on the phone when placing order cause the guy didn't understand my question correctly. Received pork in our order which we don't eat but then were blamed to have not asked what all is included in the Singapore Rice. The menu does not state any meat with the rice at all. Called them to raise the issue and got spoken to by a very rude and adamant guy who blamed me for ordering wrongly and spoke over continuously over the phone. Please do not use the takeaway. Thought of going back to the shop and having the discussion but then thgt they are not worth it.

Very tasty! But you need to know how to order the menu! I only recommend the hidden menu - prawn udon, which is sour, spicy and full of seasoning. And hot and sour soup! ! ! ! ! !

This Chinese restaurant is the best Chinese food I have eaten in the UK. I have lived in London for almost a year and I have never felt this way before. Especially the hot and sour soup and udon noodles.

The food are very delicious and it is the only one restaurant which closed very late. U even can order some special food here!

Food very greasy and overpriced, forgot my drinks in the order and didn't answer the phone when I tried to call up about it. Would definitely recommend Hong Kong City by the train station instead

More options than most chinese takeaways. Even had vegetarian satay chicken. Fast friendly delivery and a decent price. Would reccomend :D

Went and ordered 2 plain chicken chow mains with no veg or anything else in it, then went home and it was full of veg, I go back there tonight and told the young boy whos there about it and all he had to do is laugh and smerk and didnt care about it at all. Tonight, they didnt even put chicken in the chicken chow main like what the hell is going on here.

Ordered a family meal .. as we do a couple times a month.. turned up just warm... Chicken balls under cooked (raw) Called them to say.. they offer reassurance that will be fine to eat! I wouldnt except that as they were raw in the middle and I have young children and that had started.. Guy spoke to another in background and then said any problems just call back... I wont be eating there again

I been china garden 2 times each week, i love his food, chicken curry is so yummy. Also the service is very fast.

Nice food and a nice service, there will tell you how many minutes you may wait, if you order delivery they will tell you how long the drive will need, Also I see a lot of people say about the delivery charge in the manual I say under 2 miles over £15 I’ll be no delivery charge so if you over 2 miles they will see where is your house and depends how far you are to charge a delivery charge.

Always great quality and quick service

Shocking. Luke warm food... Food forgotten. Paid £5 delivery charge. Now taken over 40 min more and food forgotten still not here. Super Expensive. Will not use again. Too add insult to injury I've called again 44 min later told me it's not coming as she wanted me to pay again. Chef doesn't speak english and staff trying to translate. Disgusted. I will tell everyone I know. Steer clear.

Pricey ! As the mains do not include chips or boiled rice or is this an IOW thing ? Food ok but fried rice quite pale and didn't look or taste fried, was like voil d rice mixed with fried egg... Wiered !

The only thing that was good about our meal is that it was delivered quick. Watery sauce for our curries and a bit bland.

Mixed reactions from our party of five. My duck in plum sauce was divine, the bean curd not, and the assistant's English so poor that some of the order was misunderstood. Even though we backed up the order with pointing at the menu. Hit and miss.

China Garden change the new owners and chefs, the food get much more better than before. should go back to try!!!
