Ordered a takeaway for my 60th birthday. The most awful Chinese I’ve ever had. One of the dishes was supposed to be duck in plum sauce. I think it was chicken and was covered in soft batter. It had been microwaved and was so soggy. Avoid this Chinese at all cost

Order crispy duck pancakes and got crispy fat skin with hardly any meat. First and last time 👍

1st time Recommended Food was very good

10/10 as always, every restaurant has a bad night, but all round never had any issues! our go to chinese these days

Terrible, how can you get egg fried rice so wrong - awful, it tasted of chemical and plastic so binned it, chilli squid was soaked in burnt oil and as for the chicken satay........ what was that sauce. Never again.

I regulary get a take-away here and have done for some time now, I've even got their number pinned in my kitchen. I was saddened to see their low score because In my opinion they're one of the top 3 Chineses in the Pagham, Rose Green, Bognor and Middleton area. They always seem busy whenever I collect however, so perhaps Its just a well kept secret. (Bare in mind its a takeaway not a restaurant)

Food arrived in good time, BUT the food was not nice at all, rice was dripping in oil, overall sud standard, will never buy anything from there again.

My goodness me what is going on here! The standard has gone down the pan, the chips where absolutely disgusting. The chicken chow mean was unrecognisable. The noodles were half the size, no chicken visible in the whole portion. The whole meal even with pick up and two minutes away wsa stone cold. It was disgusting! What has changed here from the good days when this takeaway had real value and great reputation. Definitely will not be going back again. In todays climate and cost these businesses must ensure that the Customer receive value for money! Meaning everything cooked freshly and chips are cooked freshely and are indeed fresh chips not frozen withered up left overs from several hours ago. What a shambles. I feel totally ripped off!

Local Chinese good staple menu, although Satay dishes all seem poor, gloupy and tasteless...everything else seems decent.

The worst service ever, gave me the wrong order and expected me to return it with no compensation, the man on the phone was rude and unprofessional. Don’t use this takeaway!!!!!

I only went to this Chinese, as it was Tuesday, and all the other Chinese seem to be closed on a Tuesday! All four adults had a meal and I can say that everyone’s meal was average.

Worst food ever. Chow mein was burned. Everything had a slimy texture. Way too salty. £50 of food in the bin. Never again.

I saw the reviews and I didn't trust it but I went anyway and it was really good! We got free spring rolls and prawn crackers. The sweet and sour chicken balls in batter was very nice and the Mushroom fried rice was amazing, abit oily but apart from that it was good.

Anyway use this Chinese. Really good flavours and always hot. Friendly service on collection too. Will always continue to use China Garden.

Cash only and gone up alot, but food is tasty.

Have used in the past for years and have always been happy. However this time it was the worst takeaway I've ever had. Ordered at 5pm to my surprise it came 5.10. Chicken balls were soggy and Luke warm egg fried rice was a strange colour of dark brown and dry threw it away and cooked my own. The chicken with black bean sauce and shrimps and mushrooms was warm and horrible. I can only assume as it came so quickly it was left over from the previous day. Oh I forgot the free prawn crackers were ALL broken not a whole one there. Will never go again. Shame it used to be so good.

Well not sure where to start. The food was disgusting we wasn't sure what we was eating . Prawn crackers stale . The duck tasted so bad we threw it away. I would never eat here again

My partner and I have used this Chinese for 24 years.(we live 30mins away now, so thought we would treat ourselves)... And all I can say is tonight was horrific, the chicken was like fish, it was greasy, the prawn crackers where stale and the spring rolls tasty reheated! We are so disappointed. We used to be greater with a happy face and welcomed the business, now it's doom and gloom and cash only!!!!! Sad to never use it again!

We ordered a take away of several dishes for family. Chicken was dry and hard. £3 offered to take off next meal. Gave benefit of doubt ordered a few weeks on, Incomplete order!! Called and told we can deliver rest fir a charge of a fried rice as we weren't charged. No custom condideration, not interested in the fact that we couldn't eat together as a family as meal incomplete. Just fixated on charging £2.60 for egg fried rice. He felt he was doing us a favour. Stay well clear from here.....Dreadful service, money, money, money is the core of this business. NOT CUSTOMER CARE. ummm....Only takes cash too!!!!! Wonder why????

Just had the most disgusting meal ever delivered. I just wanted to enjoy a simple chicken egg foo yung and chicken fried rice whilst watching the football. When I opened the containers the egg foo yung was brown almost black on the top and the rice looked so disgusting didn’t even want to taste it so in a fit of anger the whole lot went straight in the bin. I was so annoyed I called them and informed them that I was disgusted they thought their food was fit for human consumption and I would not even give it to my dog. Even she would have turned her nose up and I wouldn’t have blamed her.

We ordered black bean with green peppers! There wasn't a green pepper in the whole meal! The chips were an absolute disgrace simulating dried up cardboard. Chicken balls were dry and freezer burnt. The sauce was coloured pee water! We have been loyal customers to this takeaway for years but noe enough is enough. Firstly it's gone down the pan since take over where the quality of product was second to none, cost £10.70,same meal as alway ordered. Secondly we now pay £19.70 for the same dish only its disgusting. Some serious management changes and focus on quality is seriously needed here. We will not return until these changes are being reported on this site! For goodness sake get a grip! OVERCHARGED INEDIBLE LACK LUSTRE, TASTELESS FOOD. IF YOU CAN CATERGORIZE THIS AS EDIBLE FOOD. WHAT A WASTE OF £20 OF MY HARD EARNT CASH. NO! NEVER AGAIN!

I feel bad for writing a bad review, considering there is already loads but this Chinese takeaway need to change their ways! The FRIED rice wasn’t even fried The chop suey had dark sauce that taste like beef gravy The deep fried beef was soo chewy and swimming in sauce Based on previous reviews, you need a new chef and start listening to complaints! Shocked that a good business thinks this is acceptable.

I have never had such a disgusting meal in my life prawn toast with no prawn Kung po chicken with no batter and jelly sauce just not good the bag weighed just the same when it went in the bin please avoid like the plague

I'm never lost for words but this was absolutely disgusting prawn toast with no prawns, salt and pepper chilli prawns with no prawn, kung po chicken god know what that was inedible waste of £37 they should be shut down

Our first takeaway from this establishment. Good value compared with our old Chinese take away in Chichester. Singapore style fried rice and duck with bamboo and water chestnuts both very good, king prawn with pineapple, sweet and sour chicken balls in batter good. Items with chillies highlighted on menu a useful warning! Speedy service in 10 minutes. Cash only.

Always been good and never wait for long

Just got Special curry and chips. hardly any taste and lots of veg, hardly any meat, also to find out that they had short changed me by £5. I'm a local and I'm never going back.

Very pleased with our food, did read earlier bad reviews and thought give it a try anyway. Glad we did, cannot fault, will be coming back.

Ordered over the phone using the numbers on the Menu to avoid confusion. Order was £70, they didn't send the Special Curry that we ordered, we rang to explain, twice, but they wasn't for rectifying their mistake, they said they had sent mixed vegetables instead. Very rude. WILL NOT USE AGAIN

Very disappointed ordered lemon chicken and got calamari spicy even though I’m allergic to sea fish and creatures and food was cold and after ringing them he said it wasn’t squid it flat chicken in batter I know what squid looks like and it smelt fishy would never use again thank you for your apology but still wouldn’t order from them

So I used to love this place but the last few time I've orded it's turned up quickly that was cold gelatinous in the sauce. But the final time I ordered and the reason why I will not be using them again was they told me 45 to 50 minutes delivery and it turned up in under 10 minutes not nearly enough time for the microwave to have heated it and delivered it to me.

Slimey disgusting food. Prawn crackers were stale which the owner said it's fine cause they are free. The king pao was slime brown mush. Prawns were overcooked. Spring rolls were basically empty on the inside. Called them up and got terrible service.

Deserves no stars. Chicken was stale and tasted of fish when I took it back they were very aggressive and refused to give me any refund! Do not go here! Food poisoning waiting to happen!!

8 month pregnant wife opened this up stopped her dishing it up they thought they could serve this up and think it was ok the ribs are green chow main smelt off wouldn’t feed it to my dog ! STAY AWAY OF YOU WANT TO LIVE 🤮 Don’t know how they think this is except-able

Husband and I have just enjoyed a delicious takeaway Chicken & Beef Chop Suey with Beef fried rice, Chicken fried rice with crackers and an enormous pancake Spring Roll. We were treated to free vegetable spring rolls as well and all of this was delivered within 15 minutes of ordering. We only went to them as they were they were the only take away open tonight locally - thank heavens we did as the meal was lovely and we will use them again! Great meal and lots left for tomorrow's breakfast....

Very quick delivery and had free prawn toast however the actual food was tasteless and disappointing.

This is bad I have waited over 1hr for my food I’ve phoned over 100 times and they have not picked up I do not recommend this service

having returned from holiday we fancied a takeaway so went to our usual chinese the order was ready on time and hot but the quality was really poor what a waste of nearly £25.00 most of it ended up in the bin,iwould have rather gone to a well known supermarket and bought a box meal.certainly will not begoing back.

Meals arrived about 25 minutes after ordering. Food was plentiful, tasty and hot. Delivery driver was friendly. Would use again.

picked up a meal from this restaurant as it is the only chinese that will quote gluten free, the chips was cross contaminated with dirty oil and tasted of onions, the sauces were tasteless and the meat was of poor quality we will not be using this takeaway anymore even though under other owners ithas been a very successful takeaway it is now diabolical.

We ordered food at China Garden via Just Eat and (a fault on our part) ordered from this restaurant in error as it's over 50 miles away. On visiting the correct takeaway we discovered our food wasn't ready. We immediately contacted the owner to see if we could get our money refunded - he was rude, shouting, not listening and told us to take it up with Just Eat. 3 of us called him to try and get a refund and he just shouted and was so unreasonable. We cannot get to speak to anyone at Just Eat as you hold and hold and hold and the phone is never answered. We are £73 out of pocket and cannot get our money back. Do not deal with this extremely rude and obnoxious man - not a very good advert at all. I can't tell you if the food is good but the service certainly isn't.

I have been there many times and order the same plain chowmein a lot and I am never disappointed their chips are absolutely amazing and the same for the prawn crackers , really quick service only a few minutes and good value for what u get , only annoying thing is they only take cash and not card other wise it is my favourite place to eat and I am always wanting Chinese

Excellent service, no complaints from me. I order on average one a month and keep on coming back. The food is great, prices good and telephone orders are promptly served. Telephone orders are always handled pleasantly and politely.

What a horrible end to boxing day. Decided to celebrate christmas by getting a chinese. Upon arrival the driver was very rude and the beef dishes had a horrible smell and taste. Prawn toast just bread. Will never again order here

They did not read notes! Prawn toast was hit by a steam roller, bearly tasted like prawn and was mega greasy as were the pork balls, satay chicken came in a snotty oddly flavoured mess. They did replace one meal as a gesture also offered me money off next order as if I'm staying well clear!

I'm sorry to say but my wifes meal I got her was not great chilli shredded beef and I do not know what the sauce was as it was just like wishy washy water sorry again

Just received my meal. Normally good.went for normal dish. Chilli beef awful tonight. Bland, no taste or spice. The beef smells off, normally get takeaway on a Friday or Saturday. The better chef must work on weekends.

Ordered food for four people and it was the worst we've ever had by a large margin anywhere! Terrible! Salty and oily! Rang to complain and was offered a refund. When they turned up they wouldn't refund me as they said we'd eaten half of it. 10 chicken balls a portion, each person had 1 each before realising how terrible it was, so 6 left equals eating half of it. This lead to a slanging match on my doorstep and no refund. Avoid at all costs, not only can they not cook, they can't count!

Just had a takeaway. Shocking.... the beef dish, the sauce... what sauce , it was all oil and the meat was terrible. Never again. Looking forward to the magic wok opening back up at Pagham.

This review doesnt even deserve the 1 star I have given them!!! Where do I start ordered our meal and headed down to collect it as we are just out of their delivery radius. Got home and started tucking into our food only to find in the mouthful of food I had taken into my mouth there was a metal paper staple, at first thinking it may have been a bone or something but no to my amazement a metal staple!! My partner phoned and asked to speak to a manager who was extremely unhelpful, patronising and refused to come and collect the food and refund it, after an argument with the manager he finally agreed to refund us and wanted all the food returned, 15 minutes later he phones back requesting us to send him photos and asking how much we had eaten of our food after again arguing with him further he finally sent some one who came half an hour later to collect our half eaten meal and to give us our money back!!! Honestly avoid at all cost, hygiene risk and staff extremely rude!!! Will never be using again!!!!

We ordered food to be delivered at 9pm, we got home at 8.55pm to find the food in waiting in the porch, stone cold. We got some story about it only being there for 7 minutes but the fact it was stone cold suggests far longer. Absolutely avoid this place, it's not worth the hassle. You only need to read the reviews on Just Eat, Google or here to see this is a common pattern with China Garden.

It was not a very good experience. Overpowering taste of lemongrass and ginger in the roast pork, chicken satay had a strange flavour and texture. Shredded crispy chilli beef was not shredded or crispy. The only point of the meal was the chow mien.

We recently had a take-away from this restaurant. We ordered Hong Kong Style Sweet and Sour Pork, it wasn’t pork meat, it was pork sausage, yuk. We also ordered King Prawn with Ginger and Spring Onion, again very disappointing, with one huge chunk of ginger, and a very dark sauce, not what we’re used to at all. We won’t go back there.

This used to be a great Chinese restaurant, but unfortunately its slowly gone down hill to the point where despite only living round the corner, we drive a few miles into town to get one. The last one we had was cheap tasting, stodgy and didn't taste fresh at all. The wait was ridiculous as well. Phoned up and was told 20 minutes. Arrived 25 minutes later and then waited for another 25 minutes. No explanation, no apologies, just food shoved over the counter. Alas, that will be the last time we go there.

Ordered through just eat with a specific order time 2 hours after the order. They waited an hour and then called me to tell me they were closing early and the driver was going home. They asked if I wanted it now. I said no as id ordered it for a certain time for a reason. Cancelled the order. Why wait an hour to tell me this? Left me having to find another place to order and now having to wait an extra half hour from what I originally wanted. Rubbish service tbh

Slowly been getting worse and worse since 2016. Latest curry a simple curry and chips I was charged almost double, had to point it out to the girl and even then she still short changed me. To top it off, a lady handed me my order and gave out a huge yawn. Like really?!?!? Put me off even eating it. Won’t be coming back anymore.

Late Food.. 1hr 30mins from ordering it.. emails - 17.55 to 18.25.. 25 mins later 18.40 I get my food.. chips soggy not that warm.. chicken balls were Okie.. very thick dark gravy for chicken.. sweetnsour sauce not even right and chicken balls wernt cooked properly..

A good Chinese which provides a well prepared meal, have had several meals from here and as yet not been disappointed...only minor complaint I have is that it is cash only!

Large portions, cooked well. Very enjoyable. Even given unexpected free sesame toast and a free bottle of drink, as we placed a large order.

Food ordered was absolutely disgusting. The pork was hard as nails and tasted like rancid fat. The chicken was so bloated with water it felt like the consistency of jelly. The sauces were 50% oil and the tongue had to seriously concentrate on discerning any flavour other than grease. The free prawn crackers were stale and just bent when chewed; the free spring rolls were the cheapest nastiest spring rolls I’ve ever had. Overall this is one of the most disgusting meals I’ve ever eaten. I will NEVER eat from here ever again.

Ordered from JustEat website and although stating it would take 50 minutes to be delivered it actually arrived in 20 minutes. Food was piping hot and such generous portions that I had to save some for the next day.

Just got worse and worse, not even sure why we ordered from here again???? This last (EVER) meal was terrible! For one thing to be wrong is bad enough but burnt noddles a cold chicken curry strange looking duck with dried out old spring onions is to much and the end of our custom..... Bring back the old chef.

Ordered a delivery and to be totally honest it was better in the bin,cold,tasteless and a waste of money if you’re hungry and desperate order here,if you want decent food go elsewhere

Ordered a chicken chow mein and chicken balls at 5:45pm. My order didn’t arrive until 8:30pm, nearly 3 hours from ordering until delivery! Dreadfully slow service. When my food did arrive the delivery instructions I had left we’re not followed (which was to call my phone and not to knock / ring buzzer). The food was barely even warm by the time it’d arrived. The chicken in my chow mein was inedible. It was rough and extremely chewy. The noodles were extremely bland and didn’t taste at all freshly cooked. The chicken balls were rubbery and chewy inside the batter. Also when my food was delivered the sweet and sour sauce was sideways in the bag and spilt everywhere so I had only received a small portion of sauce.

Good service, varied menu, not long to wait, well packaged and very tasty. Quick tip, they only take cash. Enjoy!!

Thought I would give these a try. Ordered with 5 mins before closing via Just Eat. They cancelled my order! 5 mins is 5 mins and money is money! Wont be trying again!

Thought I try this place again as it went down hill. Still no real improvement and found food to be bland and tasteless. Not sure I will be back as will go back to my local take away who are better.

Only in the area for the night and fancied a Chinese. There was not really much choice in the area and the one I wanted to use was closed.
