China City Takeaway in Worcester

I was surprised recently to read one or two poor reviews of this takeaway so I returned tonight. I have to say the extra hot prawn curry rice and chips I had was one of the best ever although the salt and pepper chilli ribs were a little bit on the fatty side as usually they are first class. Overall I really enjoyed the food as did my wife. No way could you give it less than 4 stars.

This is a busy take away so make sure you get on the phone early near opening times. The lady who took my order was excellent and given it was a big order I was pleased she read it back to me, that gave me confidence. Delivered ahead of time, the young man has been to us before and I thanked him for getting to us in good time. The food was exceptional as it usually is, hot and fresh. We particularly like No32 chicken wings and the honey lemon chicken, but TBH it was all excellent. We consider China City in Sidbury as our first choice for Chinese takeaways because the food and service is consistently excellent. Thank you

The delivery should have been 50 minutes by the time it arrived it was over an hour and a half also the driver was trying to deliver some 3 miles away at a wrong address No apology no nothing I wasn’t hungry by the time it arrived and only ate the starter as it was too late

First time ordering from here and it will definitely be the last. Ordered food at 6.50pm phoned them at 7.40pm as hadn't arrived, was told it would be another half hour, phoned yet again at 8.30 then to be told it was on its way, nearly a 2 hour wait! Mine was so bland and no taste at all which was a pity as the food portion itself was ample. My husbands had no taste at all either. Will never order from there again.

Had a really bad experience with this restaurant on New Year’s Eve but I put it down to a one off After seeing people say how lovely the food was I tried again tonight. We put an order for delivery in for 4 people at 1800 and after two phone calls it finally arrived at 2015!!! The first time I called a woman was rude, it had already been an hour and half wait and no apologies at all. Was hoping food would make up for it but unfortunately it was not good. Tasted very sweet and artificial. Nothing tasty. Very disappointed tried twice but won’t be again

Absolutely the best Chinese take away in Worcester. The food is second to none - Always right, Always hot and always so tasty !

Places an order waited 2 hours and still nothing turns out left at another address but just an excuse as kept on phone waiting and could here all that was going on in kitchen .never again as service is crap .won’t bother again will find another take away.

Ordered from here lots of times, but not again. Took 3 hours to deliver and food was poor. After almost 2 hours of waiting I called to be told delivered to wrong address, was told would cook fresh and deliver within half an hour . Food eventually arrived at 9:20 , originally ordered at 6:20

Ordered take away for delivery. I rang 1 1/2 hr later saying they tried to call because they had no address. I’ve ordered 2 or 3 times before. So waiting another 1/2 hr for food. That has more than likely been sat on a table fir at least 1/2 hr. Plus the person was quite rude whilst I was on the phone taking other orders on another phone.

Hubbie and I do love our Chinese food and no where else in Worcester beats this place. Never had to wait to long to pick up either.

We have had a couple of meals from here and the foods always been superb. Waiting times can be a bit hit and miss but you need to allow for that when ordering, it does state them on the website. Will be back for more food soon!

The food we ordered was good and we enjoyed it. However, we waited over 2.5 hours for it to arrive so didn't appreciate it as much as we would have done. Most places we've been ordering from in the past year give an estimated time once the order has been placed, depending on how busy they are (and in most cases the food arrives a bit earlier that this), but the only message we had was that it was received. After 2 hours we rang and they said it would be another 20-30 minutes but was longer than that.

Very hones on their website, said delivery 1.5 to 2 hours. They delivered spot on the 1.5 hour mark. Food piping hot, super delicious and very generous portions. Will definitely be ordering from there again.

I ordered a delivery at 17:30, at 19:15 I phoned up to chase, I was kept hanging on the teleological e for 15 minutes and was then told it could be another 45 minutes to an hour and they hadn’t started cooking my order. While I was hanging on the phone they took another 2 orders - I asked if I could pick up the order and was told that would be an hour. Any logical person would stop taking orders until they had caught up but not here keep taking the orders even though they are 2-3 hours behind. I phoned again at 20:20 and still my order hasn’t started to be cooked - after querying if people in the shop were waiting 3 hours apparently they are. What absolute rubbish - no honesty or even attempting to provide a service, taking peoples money and treating them so poorly - I wouldn’t order from here ever again

Amazing food! Easily the best I’ve ever had! Portion size are amazing quarter duck is what most places would give as a half duck! Haven’t been let down yet, would highly recommend.

we are soooo disappointed with the service and attitude we have received from what is usually our favourite Chinese this happened previously but gave them the benefit of the doubt in these Covid times but the lack of communication is terrible, we waited 2 hours and food never arrived we rang to check and was told it hasn't even been started yet "got a back log of 30 orders and not enough delivery drivers" is not good customer service! so very very angry and will NOT order again!

Twice on the trot iv been delivered wrong food, 1st time they replaced it brilliant, this time they said it was what came through on there order, which I know I didn't order, they said won't be replacing , won't use again

the food is always very good and plentiful. use this as our chinese takeaway every time. tripadvisor demand 100 characters, so i've added this.

Had a takeaway from here this evening, everything about it was amazing & easy we ordered & paid online, it was delivered within the time specified & the food was amazing, will definitely be having another

I’ve been a lover of China City since moving to Worcester 14 years ago. Eaten at their restaurant in Omberdsley and had take away from Worcester. I can say honestly I have never had a bad or even mediocre meal. Their delivery service is good, sometimes very quick sometimes just normal, their drivers are always polite and happy.I tried almost all of the Chinese restaurants in Worcester and they’re all too greasy or gloopy... or just not good for one reason or another, so I keep going back and will continue to go back. I’m a happy customer.

Super clean and promt service.Very reasonable prices and quality food.The starters are a rather large so dont over order.I have to pass two chinese takeaways to get here so that must tell you how much i rate it.

I was recommended to try here.The guy on phone was very efficient and order delivered quick.The food was generous in portions and all the dishes were very tasty, will definitely be coming back here again! One of the best chineses we’ve had in ages!

We were moored up on the canal nearby, so chose this place out of convenience. The food was well priced, fantastically cooked, and ready to take away in a matter of minutes. Can thoroughly recommend it to anyone else cruising the cut

Since moving to university in September of 2016 it has been an extensive task to try an find a Chinese as phenomenal as the one I am used to at home. Many moons ago we found China City. Since this day we have never looked back. Each mouthful is like an explosion of oriental genius. An all round fantastic Chinese offering an extensive menu and a speedy delivery service! All in all would recommend everyone add getting a take away from china City Worcester to their bucket list!!! :)

Good extensive menu with quite a lot of seafood options. If you are in a car its not easy to park round there unless you blag it and park for a short time on the main road. Food is fine and they will deliver for a fee.

Stayed in Worcester with work overnight at a hotel, this was the closest takeaway so I chose this one for my tea. Nice welcome and a good choice on the menu. I took my food back to my hotel and opened the food cartons. The food smelt so nice that I had forgotten ti take a picture lol but managed ti take a picture once I started mixing my rice into my curry. Food was fab, will use them again especiallty as dinner only cost me £6.50! Thanks

As an avid Chinese fan, and a regular customer at China City for over 3 years now, i can confirm they offer the most consistent, top quality Chinese takeaway out of all the other ones i have been to. (probably 6 others I have tried). They are very fast for delivery too. Fully recommend them, any visitors who come always ask me to get "one of them awesome Chinese's"!!

Ordered for a Chinese delivery as soon as the shop opened through just eat. Had the option to leave a message for the shop which they listened to!
