China City in Chelmsford

Rubbish ask for 5 dishes got home 2 were wrong ask for duck with pancakes got some nasty greesy in some type of sauce with 5 pieces for over 7 pounds rip off and taste horrible so won't be going there ever again on top of it near 5 pounds,bbq sauce so all nearly 40 pounds disgusting never again .

Best chicken satay in Chelmsford. Seaweed really good. Have never had a bad dish from here. Delivery can take a while as they are very busy, and only except cash.

So last week the Beef in Oyster sauce was thick cut and like leather so raised it as a concern that quality was dropping alroud but gave another go tonight chose different dishes from our normal but they are now using cheap rice that has husks and getting stuck in my teeth..... its a shame as it was the best in CM1 but quality is on the floor now! and the fact it's cash only think they've got greedy cheating the tax man .....so disappointed after spending so much with them over the years of eating from there 😕

I used to get food from this restaurant some years ago which was nice and tasty but they must have changed chefs because there was hardly any meat in it, just rice and noodles. Just a shame that they have cut back on ingredients which is shortchanging the customer. Singapore rice noodles and Singapore fried rice used to be my favourite, but not anymore.

Terrible food. Would not go back in hurry. Very dry, greasy starters. Felt good could of been warmed up. Prawn toast unable to eat as so greasy and chewy.

Have been waiting hour & half for a delivery that was told would be 15 minutes still not here. Lousy service never again..

Have been using china city for many years, have never had a problem with any of the food we have ordered, lovely taste , great portion sizes 👌 they are double the size of the other local chinses , would be great if they could get a card machine tho,

I have used this restaurant for a lot of years and generally very good food. I ordered my usual on Saturday (sweet and sour chicken) and as I bit into the chicken I happened to look at it and it was very pink - in fact you could say quite red. Very undercooked - I then checked the rest of my chicken and found that at least three pieces were pink not as bad as the first one but pink nevertheless. When I rang the restaurant I was asked to bring it back and they would check it and cook me some more. I declined and said I wanted my money back. They did bring me my money for that particular dish and took the sweet and sour chicken away. Make sure you check the chicken from this place.

Unfriendly staff, basic food - take away only Cash only no cards - seems pretty odd in this day and age demanding cash and no receipts given Avoid
