Good buffet selection and friendly staff. The teppanyaki station is the best. They serve made to order steak salmon and squid. They have a good selection of clearly labelled vegetarian options.

An absolute gem for those who love a wide variety of international cuisines! The buffet offers a fantastic selection, from Chinese classics to sushi and other delicious dishes like pasta, salads, pizza, Indian food and Everything was fresh, and the flavours were spot on. The staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that our plates were cleared quickly and drinks were refilled without delay. The atmosphere is lively yet comfortable, making it perfect for both family outings and casual get-togethers with friends. Definitely worth every penny, and I can’t wait to come back for another round!

Quite a long wait to get booked in (even though we'd booked in advance) but food and service great

The guy on the front desk was excellent tonight… very busy, but still managed to seat 5 of us👍… food was good despite being packed… great place for the kids 👏🏻

Cannot recommend songs enough, Lift was broken so staff took me round the back and up the trade elevator. The food is excellent and the staff are absolutely brilliant..

The food at this place is garbage and lack proper seasoning and is extremely dry and gross. I don’t know how you can make soy sauce bad and bitter. On another note, the child policy (height, not age) that they have is a money hungry means of extortion. Are they aware that tall children exist? My sister is 10 and she had to pay an adult price because she’s a bit “tall”. They also don’t measure by shoulder but by head and how tall the measurement is, is insane. What a joke. The plates and cutlery are dirty and tawdry. And on top of meal price, you have to pay extra for drinks. A absolute joke.

Way over priced. Paid £70 for 2 adults and 1 child for buffet and soft drinks. Rock hard prawn toast sat there under heater for hours it seems. Noodles empty and not replaced. Rice had gone cold. Other dishes greasy and tasteless. Sticky floors. Kids had started a food fight. Kids were putting their fingers in the chocolate fountain. No parental supervision.

Very happy with our experience today. Went for a birthday dinner. The team gave a birthday card, a chocolate cake and sang happy birthday. Enjoyed the buffet selection including the fish cooking station. The food was replenished frequently so was hot. Thank you to all the team for a pleasant evening. We are sure to dine here again.

Been here several times, never any issues

For a buffet at 5pm on a Saturday costing £20 , there was so much NOT there.empty pots that were still empty 20mins later on second attempt. Chow mein that had more juice than chow mein in the container, and when has special fried rice never had ANY meat in it. No chicken/beef or shrimp etc currys. And deserts very lame. Never again for me.

Not sure why such high reviews on this place, maybe the food is better in the evening. Went there for the lunch menu. The noodles etc were ok but not sure what any of the meat was. My partner had sweet and sour chicken and it was the weirdest looking and tasting “chicken”. The music played in the place was very depressing

It was my first time visiting Songs and I was pleasently surprised, the food was great, and there was so much choice. What stood out for me was how welcoming and polite all the staff were. I will definitely be back and will be recommending to others. Thank you for a lovely evening 😀

A bit claustrophobic and the toilets need a bit of a sprucing up but other than that I had a good time. I'm always skeptical of buffets but I did enjoy the food, the staff were all polite and helpful also.

Excellent value for money buffet. A tad disappointed there was no chow mein but there was noodle options. Curry and tandoori chicken were also on the buffet if that's your liking. Staff were friendly and I left with a very full belly!!

City center, friendly, welcoming buffet, good food and very varied.

The food was awful, the worst Chinese I've ever had, the worst Indian I've ever had. It wasn't cheap, we tried a few different plates, they were all horrible so left and went and got food elsewhere.

Found a lot of the dishes needed refilling and a few of the labels didn't correspond with what was in the trays. In my opinion mainly chinese type food. Having said that good value for money and I would use again.

The place is OK. I done the lunch menu at £10 an adult is really good value and plenty of food and deserts to select from. Children are £5. I always end up eating too much at these type of places so feel terrible lol but it is a nice place to go.

We had an early dinner at Song's because we had been visiting Chelmsford for the day. There is always a good selection of food on offer which is fresh and piping hot!

Lovely place for a nice buffet meal. Excellent for large groups.

We have been here twice now. The staff are friendly and polite. The food is good with plenty of choice. The drinks are not so good value but not unreasonable. Parking can be a challenge at peak times, there are more parking spaces near Ninja Warrior which is a couple of minutes walk. Definitely worth a visit.

Great buffet. Lots if options, everything I had I enjoyed, drinks are a very fair price and a staff member kindly bought me some plain rice as I don't like egg fried. I will definately go back next time I'm in Chelmsford.

Lunch time food is ok not much choice in beer. But price at lunchtime is ok

Very crammed in and hot in there. No air con and we were sat nxt to a really loud group of men who were talking so loud we could not talk to each other as were being talked over so i asked to move to another small table and was met by a very rude young waitress who just said il clear that spare table last and proceeded to do anything other than wipe the table over and then when finally doing it she walked away staring at me giving dirty looks the whole time we were there leaving us to move ourselves.

Very delicious food melts in your mouth. Buffet. You eat as much as you want, whatever you want for £12 per person, very cheap, large restaurant, clean, very nice, smiling staff, I recommend it

Overall, it was a great experience. Food was nice tasting and good quality, considering its buffet. Good enough selection of starters, mains, and desserts, even freshly grilled items, including steak, prawns, and salmon. Sushi and pizza are also available. Improvements I would suggest would be how fried food is stored as it makes the food soggy such as chips and nuggets. Lastly would be the smell of the men's toilet which really should be improved.

Thus must be the best value in town, huge variety in food including desserts all included. Pleasant decor, friendly and efficient staff.

It was different with years before,not much Asian food to choose but still not bad.

Good food. Fun watching people pile as much one plate as they can. Handy tip. You can use more than one plate. Try it. Starter one plate. Main another. Crispy duck another and pudding on another. Funny seeing a creme brulee on top of crispy noodles🤣

The food was delicious and varied. Being a self-service restaurant,I actually didn't know what to choose because there were many dishes, from all parts of the world. incredibly good dessert. If you want to eat well and good test, Song's is the best place. I was amazed by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness as well. An employee should be permanently in the food hall to ensure that each customer respects the behavior rule. I confidently recommend this place with affordable prices. Thank you

Very enjoyable evening at Songs. Terrific set up. Food was fresh, widely available & delicious. Only downside was the shire amount of people around and queuing within the food area making it crammed at times, but to be expected on a Saturday evening.

9 of us Went last night for my daughters 15th birthday -Chinese is her favourite…I have been So gs in the past and was really looking forward to it. The food was horrible rice mushy, noondkes burnt…it really lacked love and effort. I don’t eat meat so my options were even more limited, only 2ish options 😭. The couple options of desert were so disappointing. Finally, Staff stare at you for fear you may take a spring roll… I do not recommend and we will not be going back 😭 £18.99 per person 👎🏽

Went to songs for childs birthday. Buffet is what you expect .. not terrible but nit the best Chinese food ever. Also have Pizza, nuggets, chips etc .. some cook to order items and Sushi are a nice touch. Also some Indian food but didn't try that. Nice touch was a card for the birthday girl and a Chocolate mousse cake with a candle for free.

Really great atmosphere and friendly staff who kept the place tidy, some of the food wasn’t amazing but for the price I can’t complain. Good time had by all and we weren’t rushed to leave although we had slightly overstayed our slot.

Was going into Chelmsford Bond street car park and noticed songs on left on way in . All you can eat buffet . So we gave it a go . Great and friendly welcome , polite staff . Very clean place and over 100 dishes . Food was great and was being topped up regularly. Highly recommend Songs

Food is okay at £9.50 for a weekday lunch buffet

Omg, probably our new favourite buffet. I ate waaaay too much there, though, so I ended up feeling quite uncomfortable in the stomach and didnt really eat for the rest of the day but i highly recommend this place the food was delicious especially their peking spare ribs which i had to keep going back for 🤣

If you like cheap and nasty food, this is the place for you. Reminded me of being in a 2/3 star all inclusive in Europe. Most definitely not for those who like good quality food!

Absolutely love this place. All you can eat Chinese buffet, but also has Indian curries, Turkish kebabs, Italian pizzas and even sushi. Staff are always on the ball. Great atmosphere. Even the lager on tap is really cheap. Food is delicious. 5 stars****

Friendly, helpful staff, quick to act when we told them that some adults were picking food up with their fingers. They removed the particular trays & refilled with new items. Awkward for anyone with bad legs as customer lift is often out of use & restaurant is upstairs. Hot tasty food.

The food was excellent and the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. I would give this place a 5 star review but I have to say the bar person was completely rude and arrogant. Had no customer awareness and was completely unhelpful. Thankfully the managers were very understanding and took the feedback on board. I would certainly go back and would recommend the place, as I don't believe that only one bad apple should reflect how amazing everyone else was.

Not the widest selection of choice and a fair amount of the trays were empty so lead to many trips just for a small amount. The food that was there did taste ok, but not amazing. The price was fair for what you got and the staff were nice and friendly

One of the worst buffets I've been to. The food layout was weird (sushi and bread pudding next to each other?!) There was very little variety. Many empty tables but had to wait 10 minutes for a table to be free?! Will not be back

Really good food this lunch time £9.50 and there was lots of variety left even though we got there at 2 and finishes at 3 desserts were also good.

Popped here for the buffet lunch with some of the family. The food was very good, with plenty of selection. Lunch is considerably cheaper than the evening sitting. The seats looked like they should be well padded but when you sat down you just feel the hard seat beneath the cushion. We were lucky enough to be on a table that was not in one of the aisles where people are constantly walking past to collect their food. I wouldn't have enjoyed being on one of those.

I've visited Songs since it opened, many a time. But the working lunch today was pretty horrific. I say this with honesty and sadness as I will not be going back. I appreciate that it is Easter Holidays and children are off school, but I don't really appreciate children putting their hands in all the food and taking bits and pieces and putting food back!! Whilst the mum's are scoffing their chops, chatting to mates and allowing their children to do as they please. The place was absolutely packed and half the food wasn't in situ and what was left was cold and non existent. The place had business lunch people, families with kids, couples, elderly, large families for birthdays. The entire place was packed like an 80' s nightclub. You walked in to each other, no etiquette. Never again !!!! It's a massive NO for me. Spoons in Ipswich is my go to. Visited throughout the year and never had any issues. Today at Songs, was GREED BEFORE NEED You don't put working people with kids, running around, while lazy mum's stuff themselves silly.

Very disappointed since they kicked us after being there for 2 hours. I could not even have time to try a second dish. The price of the drink is almost 3.50£ and paid 20£ to be there only two hours. Absolutely a joke. And the manager came to the table and he was very rude with us. Even though we said that we were waiting for people to come in they charged them!! And they did not care since the reservation was made at a time on concrete. So why then did you not mention before charging them!!!. That is absolutely a thief and waste of time.

We have been coming here for the past few years and have always enjoyed it but unfortunately tonight we were disappointed, the service from two young girls was quite bad who were clearing tables, and my husband literally just picked up his last bit of food on his fork and the girl came along and whipped his plate up so fast then took it away, whoa hang on there lady, nothing was being replenished so quite a few empty pots about, I asked 3 times for the eaten mess to be replaced and was told it would be, I waited 20 minutes and it was not replenished, gave up in the end and left. It's such a shame as we travel from Colchester and it used to be so good so doubt we be back unfortunately. Staff need training on how to clear a table.

We visited Song’s for my mother’s birthday and it was a lovely experience. Great buffet with a wide variety of dishes, providing plenty of options to choose from. Despite being extremely busy during our visit, the waiters provided a lovely service. The food was good and offered a refreshing change from the buffets we're accustomed to. They even surprised my mum with a birthday card which was unexpected. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience worth trying.

Good value for money. Evening food selection seems superior however it's better to stuff your face at lunch.

Food is not so great but good value

Yo I’m going to be completely honest I’m just a kid so what do I know I’ve been here loads of times before throught intact I’m even ill today and im still going there’s just something about the vanilla rolls there is it too good in fact there’s something about all the food here it’s just too good and every time I come i eat too much I also feel way to sick throught and after i eat I always need the bathroom I got a medical condition and well I’m not proud to say that part but the songs bathrooms are always and I mean always so clean and the staff don’t get me started on the staff there too nice!

Plenty of choice Great value for moneyThey give you a 2-hour window But you Really need longer than that and all you can eat restaurants It is wheelchair accessibleBut on this particular night the lift was broken My advice to you is phone up before booking if you have somebody with wheelchair or difficulty getting upstairs

Food left out too long but when it's fresh it's really nice. I always try to be there close to opening for the freshest food.

Good place to go for lunch/dinner with family. Plenty of choice, reasonable price, friendly and warm environment. Good wheelchair facility. Overall 10/10.
