Food was quite bland but fast delivery

Always great food delivered hot and quickly.

We always used this takeaway because of the quality of food and service, now we called in and ordered Chinese chips (frozen) beef curry the sauce had been watered down with flour giving it a dark brown colour not very nice, the chefs special noodle was thrown together and not mixed , not a good experience also the prices have rocked up , we won’t be going back there which is a shame….

Very kind. Called on the phone to discuss and help with order. Called when outside door for delivery. Food was tasty. Good rating overall.

Lovely food cooked well and delivered while still hot.

Ordered Thai dishes (pricey) and they tasted like Chinese with some fish sauce thrown in. Will not be going back.

ive been going here for over 20 years, i love it! staff are nice, the venue is not so nice but the food is incredible. you have nothing to loose by trying it and its great price.

Finally some good orange chicken!!!!! Been looking around Chelmsford for a good orange chicken for a while and nearly gave up finally tried this one and it’s so good! Food was piping hot and portion sizes are great for the price! Will definitely be ordering again! Highly recommend the orange chicken please don’t ever take it off the menu!

Absolutely no flavour in any of it- I thought maybe I might see or taste a chili in my chilli and garlic tofu, but it tasted of nothing but oil. The seaweed had no sweet/salty seasoning on it and the egg fried rice was sticky and bland. Please someone tell me where I can get a Chinese takeaway away in Chelmsford that actually tastes of something, this is my 5th attempt and I’m loosing hope.

Tried for 1st time 2 weeks ago, lady serving me was lovely and friendly, i ordered beef with green peopers, salt n pepper chips, egg fried rice, chow mein, curry sauces cant recall what else. I usually go others but this is nr me so try it and wasnt dissapointed, amazing flavours lovely n hot curry sauce n fried rice were lovely and rice wasnt to starchy. Deffo will be using these again wont go else where, highly reccomend. 10/10. Was fascinated way chefs use woks such a skill. Watching em cook my order from fresh .

Worst Chinese I’ve had in a long time. Really disappointed. They don’t seem to use fresh ingredients. Chop Suey was flavoured with some kind of sauce like baked bean juice. Singapore Rice Noodles were flavoured with chilli sauce rather than fresh chilli and spring onion etc. Everything was smothered in sauce rather than using fresh ingredients. Shame. Won’t use again.

Really tasty Chinese. Food was piping hot, everything was really tasty and good portion sizes. A little more expensive than my usual Chinese but I’d order from here again.

Tourist and came here by mistake thinking we could eat in. Prices were reasonable. However, I did not think the container size was very big. Good taste wise, but not great.

Decent taste. A tad expensive, but enjoyable. Pleased to see it arrive early. Shame it didn’t come with any additional like prawn crackers for the amount that was spent, but this isn’t something to be too frustrated as it’s more of a courtesy than requirement.

Very Greasy, no flavour, we couldn't eat it, very disappointing, I suppose if you can order a meal prime time Saturday evening and it arrives very quickly the alarm bells should ring.

Not ordered from here for a few months. Prices have gone up massively, delivery charge, service charge and now also charge for a bag for your food to come in !!!!! The food itself was terrible, unbelievably oily. Pancake roll appeared to be battered, swimming in oil and inedible, chicken was grey and soaking in oil, basically everything was oily, not good at all, most of the food was binned. Used to love this Chinese, but not anymore. Would not use again, sorry.

The tofu was nothing but filled with oil. Completely unpalatable. They need to rethink how to cook this tofu and can't be fried in full oil.

Arrived 20 mins early than the time we asked for it unfortunately it went the good had to be reheated due to not everyone being at home as it was early, it was ok food, chilli beef wasn’t nice at all

Food was very bland. Do not recommend. There are many other options that are far better. Ordered chicken in yellow bean sauce (sauce was ok but did not taste like yellow bean at all), crispy chilli beef (was very bland and had little to no taste), Singapore noodles (these were ok), spring roll (this was just beansprouts nothing else and tasted awful took 1 bite and left), seaweed (was ok). I spent £37 and they didn’t even give a bag of prawn crackers like most places. Really disappointed with my order.

Amazing food, but the ribs were truely sublime, will be going back for those if nothing else. Try them I beg you

Food was cold and weird textures special fried rice was dark brown and gloopy the ribs where just gristle and the chicken balls covered in really thick uncooked doughy batter would not order from here again shame as it was a favourite when I was younger

Ordered food for delivery & it was bland, anaemic & watery. Called them to advise, not asking for refund or a replacement, but as this is the 2nd time I thought they needed to know. Was met with denial & argument. We’ve ordered from them for years but this will be the last.something has changed here & not in a good way. Plenty of take aways to try in Chelmsford.

We have ordered from here multiple times before and used to enjoy our meals but the standard has quickly declined. Everything lacked flavour, gravy and sauces are bland and watery, beef barely cooked and food arrived lukewarm at best. Then when we phoned to tell them about our issues, the lady we spoke to was extremely dismissive. It is a shame as we used to love ordering from here and have been regular customers, but will not be ordering from them again.

The food was wonderful it was delivered hot fresh and on time! This Chinese is one of the best In chelmsford yes it is fairly pricey compared to other Chinese in the area however the quality is so much better! On New Year’s Eve they Stopped taking orders to allow themselves to get amazing food out before they opened there ordering again! The only thing I will say is the chicken balls have a lot of batter on them but not unpleasant! It all comes down to your preference! All In all top level Chinese! The extra cash you spend is really worth it for the quality

Absolutely the worst Chinese I have ever had , the mixed veg was a load of slop Bland tasteless chow mien , crispy chilli beef more carrots on top than chilli beef ( no chillis !!!! New Year’s Eve food £75 charged . Will never go to this place again need to change the name as nothing Hors D’oeuvre about the food 😡😡😡

We didn’t even eat it. Meat and Prawns mushy. Rice not fresh. Genuinely awful.

Restaurant was more expensive than other takeaways but was willing to give it a try, it was nothing special you can definitely have better for less money I spent 50 quid and didn’t get anything for free either

I was given a time and message that food was ready for collection 1215. I couldn’t get in the door as there were too many people waiting for their orders they did over the counter finally get my order 30mins later.

The chicken in the dish was slimy and leg meat only which was disappointing as the dish cost £6.50 I would have expected breast meat. The chicken fried rice was quite dry ! Over cooked

The food was not cooked as well as before. The spare ribs were soft. We had the feeling there was a new Chef? Not sure if we would order again.

Real waste of money, the beef dish was extremely freezed and not even cooked properly. All the meat were undercooked and disgusting. I throw everything into dustbin and 33 pounds wasted.

I’ve been using these people for more than 10 years and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad Chinese dish. I just happened to work opposite, but I used this place before we moved here. I love the hot and sour soup and the chicken and mushroom soup. And I had a lovely omelette the day before yesterday. I don’t order through the just eat app, I just called them up and it’s always ready. I live in Stock so occasionally we will have Chinese. So I have tried others in and around in Billericay, I haven’t found a better one yet.

Categorically the worst Chinese I have ever had. Chicken was watery. Vegetables seemed old. “Satay Sauce” tasted like watered down curry powder. Pork was so grissly it was inedible. Only saving grace were the chips! Throughly disappointed and will never return again.

An amazing meal for my partner and myself. I’ve been eating/ordering from Peking Hors-D'oeuvre since I was very young, I used to walk round to collect with my parents. Today we ordered new items from the menu and we were very impressed and enjoyed our food immensely. Delivered within the time given, food was very hot and delicious. We will definitely be ordering again.

It took a while to find a good Chinese takeaway in Chelmsford. Peking Hors D'oeuvre is by far the best. They do get busy so can't alway order takeaway (which says a lot about how good the food it). Delivery is usually super quick and the food really flavoursome.

Usually good but on this occasion after spending £33 on a takeaway it appeared to be half of lunchtimes or previous days dishes reheated having to throw half of it away as inedible. Fobbed on the phone with the "it freshly cooked" quote when challenged offered a discount on the next order. ... Maybe time to find another takeaway.

The food wasn’t the best, the chicken satay came as chicken and bean sprouts yet I was expecting satay skewers?

Perfect... 1st time here and the best Chinese take away we've had for a long long time... Prob matches chelmos most famous Chinese takeaway which is where we used to go but we wanted this delivered... Will defo be returning here... And the dry spiced tofo was delicious... Also sweet chilli sauce is home made and banging

One of the good chinese restaurants in chelmsford. Had chicken chow mein, it was delicious..

Portions were in the smaller side to what we’ve had from others. Sweet and sour sauce was quite bland as was the chilli beef but there is an option to add extra spice but personally felt it was lacking sauce. Ribs were amazing fall off the bone texture! In general prawn toast, spring rolls etc were v v v greasy. Wouldn’t order from here again given the choice.

Food was just wonderful! The extra spicy option on the roast pork fried rice really ramps up the flavour, and the chilli n' garlic king prawns were huge, juicy and delicious! Biggest pancake roll I've ever seen and equally delicious. Crispy duck was also very yummy! Keep up the great work, we'll defo be ordering again! :)
