Food was good quality and HOT when it arrived. Have to say the delivery was slow but well within the time estimated but it was a Saturday night. We was unable to come and collect ourselves tonight so served a purpose. Can’t complain with the food we received tonight.

Food piping hot and delicious. Came a little earlier than estimated delivery time but not a problem as we were hungry. China Garden make the best sweet and sour sauce in the universe (their other stuff is exceptionally good too). 5⭐ as always.

Our favourite Chinese takeaway! We always have a lovely meal, delivered in a good time. The duck chow mein is delicious. Really lovely and will be ordering again.

the best thing was the delivery guy found our address and was who I'd want representing a brand.. the food was abysmal... the seaweed tasted 2 days old. the pineapple in the rice tasted like it had sat there to long. overload on chilli. prawns were dry and overcooked. sweet and sour sauce was pink and disgusting. honestly I'm done.

usually very pleased with the food I get from China garden, however the crispy chilli beef was basically fried strips of batter, there was no beef to be found. disappointing.

Food is pretty damn good. The people there are very nice aswell. I believe it is a family owned business. Again great food. There will always be arguing over who gets the last of any item on the menu.

Lovely staff, great tasting food and good service. We had a wrong item which they promptly replaced with the correct item and let us keep the wrong item, which was yummy too.

The chips were vile, everything else lovely

Online order was confusing as they have 2 different websites posted on their Google search however, the one we used was very clear and easy to use. Food delivery was very quick which was nice. Only poor thing was that the food was bland, fried rice was mostly rice with a few bits of egg and veg, sweet and sour was very watery however I really liked the Singaporian noodles. Wish they had more vegan options.

This isn’t the first time I have had a late delivery from this take away, and sadly I won’t be ordering from them again via just eat.

Sadly the quality of the food today was not as nice as on previous occasions. Duck was very fatty and mixed vegetables tasteless.

When I’ve used this takeaway before I would have rated it as average. Today I have had delivered what I can only describe as exceptional quality food. It wasn’t a large order just a rice dish a duck dish and crispy beef. The ingredients tasted so fresh it was noticeable. I was so impressed with the meal I had to phone them and tell them how good the food was.

Received an email from china garden giving 15% off our order- no way of redeeming it - when we phoned them they denied any discounts existed- scam?

Delayed the delivery which is better than I have seen with previous reviews. Unfortunately not worth the wait, the sweet and sour chicken just trashed of orange and that’s it which was very bizarre for me, prawn toast and spring rolls were spot on but seaweed was limp and tasteless, the chow mien had a unique smell, there’s much better places to order form in chelsmford

ordered for dinner at 1945, estimated time was 1945. had to call twice to chase the food and didn't arrive until 2030. very bland food had to season it before I could eat it. very poor. won't be ordering from here again.

Food is really lovely. The only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars is that the beef in the beef curry was tough.

Delivery was only 10 minutes late which is not an issue but the order hadn't been updated online, no idea if it was being prepared or if it was on the way, restaurant wasn't answering the phone. food itself was not amazing.... only Few pieces of meat in the Singapore noodles and duck in black bean . sauce pots all split on delivery, it was all barely warm, hoping this was just a Friday night thing

Ready when I arrived I have it on good authority that the satay chicken skewers are the best ever. Never disappoints (although sweet and sour sauce has shrunk)

Very tasty food, good quality and portion size.

May be a one off as the rest of the reviews are good. However my food was over an hour late. I ordered some curry sauce, but it didn't turn up (and I didn't fancy eating ages again). the restaurant refunded £7 which was good of them to be fair. The battered food was slightly soggy rather than crunchy which was a shame. Will try again at some point and update my review if better on a different try. Was a shame though. hopefully they're better than this usually (reviews suggest they are).

I don't usually reviews. This time however not only was my food 2 hours late, it was then delivered to the wrong house. When calling up for the 5th time when they said my food was delivered to the wrong adress did it then get delivered by a lovely gentleman in under 15 mins. although before this the other blonde woman delivery driver turned up again, proceeded to try and give me the order the other house has had for the past half hour and was incredibly rude. I suggest she gets the sack. abysmal

Food was ordered at 1854 with a delivery estimate of between 1950 and 2010. I called the restaurant at 2010 who advised the driver had already left and the food will be delivered in the next 5 minutes. I called again at 2030 as the food had still not arrived, the lady on the phone was very nice and called me back shortly after. The driver finally arrived at 2040 with cold food which had to be reheated. The flavour was good but contained a small piece of plastic. I will not be ordering from here

Crispy seaweed was good. The crispy duck was all fat, the pancakes just ripped apart when trying to separate them and the chow mein was dry. Very disappointing

Food always good, but prices are a bit high now, £3.50 for a small sweet and sour sauce, over £8 for squid, £3 for delivery (I collect to save) & no free prawn crackers even though we spent over £50. Shame because I think this is the best Chinese takeaway in Chelmsford otherwise. If you have money to splash then it's great! X

Delivery time was fine. Chicken satay was lovely however the lemon chicken was awful, would not recommend. Just chicken with tons of lemon water, not great, probably won’t order from here again

best Chinese takeaway in Essex. Chicken Balls are out of this world (can be greasy sometimes so get some kitchen towel ready) but the batter is thin and not stodgy. Rice and chow mein a always full of flavour 10/10

Ordered at 6 got it at 8. Was cold, very expensive for quite frankly horrible tasting because it was cold. You can not eat Chinese food cold.

I ordered Half a Peking Duck .. with delivery costs etc it came to £25 . The cut up cucumber and onion didn't look or taste very fresh and the duck was just okay .. overall it was disappointing .

Average. Runny sauce for the crispy chilli beef, dumplings were tiny and pancake roll burnt.

All the chips and 2 portions of the chicken balls were burnt, this place has become so much worse

Food mediocre. Small portions for the money. And very very slow and late delivery for a £3 delivery fee. Not a good first experience. Won't use them again

I must say the food is good but compared to others in the local area the portion sizes were terrible. Ribs were a bit crispy.

Our food was delivered to the wrong address and when we did get it it was cold and fatty and had to be put in the oven for 20 minutes to heat it through but it never tastes the same when reheated.
