Happy with food being delivered earlier than estimated time, we were hungry. Food was hot and delicious. China Garden makes the best sweet and sour sauce. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Delayed the delivery which is better than I have seen with previous reviews. Unfortunately not worth the wait, the sweet and sour chicken just trashed of orange and that’s it which was very bizarre for me, prawn toast and spring rolls were spot on but seaweed was limp and tasteless, the chow mien had a unique smell, there’s much better places to order form in chelsmford

ordered for dinner at 1945, estimated time was 1945. had to call twice to chase the food and didn't arrive until 2030. very bland food had to season it before I could eat it. very poor. won't be ordering from here again.

Delivery was only 10 minutes late which is not an issue but the order hadn't been updated online, no idea if it was being prepared or if it was on the way, restaurant wasn't answering the phone. food itself was not amazing.... only Few pieces of meat in the Singapore noodles and duck in black bean . sauce pots all split on delivery, it was all barely warm, hoping this was just a Friday night thing

Food is really lovely. The only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars is that the beef in the beef curry was tough.

Ready when I arrived I have it on good authority that the satay chicken skewers are the best ever. Never disappoints (although sweet and sour sauce has shrunk)

Very tasty food, good quality and portion size.

May be a one off as the rest of the reviews are good. However my food was over an hour late. I ordered some curry sauce, but it didn't turn up (and I didn't fancy eating ages again). the restaurant refunded £7 which was good of them to be fair. The battered food was slightly soggy rather than crunchy which was a shame. Will try again at some point and update my review if better on a different try. Was a shame though. hopefully they're better than this usually (reviews suggest they are).

Food was ordered at 1854 with a delivery estimate of between 1950 and 2010. I called the restaurant at 2010 who advised the driver had already left and the food will be delivered in the next 5 minutes. I called again at 2030 as the food had still not arrived, the lady on the phone was very nice and called me back shortly after. The driver finally arrived at 2040 with cold food which had to be reheated. The flavour was good but contained a small piece of plastic. I will not be ordering from here

I don't usually reviews. This time however not only was my food 2 hours late, it was then delivered to the wrong house. When calling up for the 5th time when they said my food was delivered to the wrong adress did it then get delivered by a lovely gentleman in under 15 mins. although before this the other blonde woman delivery driver turned up again, proceeded to try and give me the order the other house has had for the past half hour and was incredibly rude. I suggest she gets the sack. abysmal

Crispy seaweed was good. The crispy duck was all fat, the pancakes just ripped apart when trying to separate them and the chow mein was dry. Very disappointing

Food always good, but prices are a bit high now, £3.50 for a small sweet and sour sauce, over £8 for squid, £3 for delivery (I collect to save) & no free prawn crackers even though we spent over £50. Shame because I think this is the best Chinese takeaway in Chelmsford otherwise. If you have money to splash then it's great! X

Delivery time was fine. Chicken satay was lovely however the lemon chicken was awful, would not recommend. Just chicken with tons of lemon water, not great, probably won’t order from here again

best Chinese takeaway in Essex. Chicken Balls are out of this world (can be greasy sometimes so get some kitchen towel ready) but the batter is thin and not stodgy. Rice and chow mein a always full of flavour 10/10

Ordered at 6 got it at 8. Was cold, very expensive for quite frankly horrible tasting because it was cold. You can not eat Chinese food cold.

Great food always good from them jalfrezi was extra hot , and they gave us 1 extra popadom.

I ordered Half a Peking Duck .. with delivery costs etc it came to £25 . The cut up cucumber and onion didn't look or taste very fresh and the duck was just okay .. overall it was disappointing .

Always deliver top notch food, and are always on time (or slightly early). Brilliant stuff - our favourite Chinese in the area. All the dishes are good, this time we particularly enjoyed the crispy duck, the pancake rolls, and the chow mien.

Average. Runny sauce for the crispy chilli beef, dumplings were tiny and pancake roll burnt.

All the chips and 2 portions of the chicken balls were burnt, this place has become so much worse

Food mediocre. Small portions for the money. And very very slow and late delivery for a £3 delivery fee. Not a good first experience. Won't use them again

I must say the food is good but compared to others in the local area the portion sizes were terrible. Ribs were a bit crispy.

Our food was delivered to the wrong address and when we did get it it was cold and fatty and had to be put in the oven for 20 minutes to heat it through but it never tastes the same when reheated.

The most vile Chinese I have ever had and the fried rice wasn’t even fried just boiled rice with few bits of meat!!! It’s definitely cured me from eating takeaway while working away!!! Shut the place down

Lovely Chinese every time we have had it

Excellent food ..only 20 min wait..quality ingredients..I would recommend it to anyone..I had special chow mein..(no chewy beef..or..fatty pork ) special fried rice ( no ham or spam) ..I will try other meals..and..send a review..but ..TBH ..because of the quality of the ingredients..I cant see anybof the meals failing to please...try it..you wont be disappointed..

Everything was nice, hot and tasty. The thing that let it down today was the satay sauce 😕 this was really watered down, big disappointment as this is our favourite part about a Chinese. It wasnt like this last time.

Food took an 1 hour and 45 minutes to be delivered. Arrived cold, with half contents spilt in the bag. Sauces (what was left of them were extremely runny). Staff refused any discount or money back despite the wait and being cold on delivery. First and last time using this place

We go here all of the time, ordering almost once a week. Either through this app or popping in to the shop. Our order is usually a chicken and a special chow mein, great portions and very delicious. Plus a sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style, again a nice portion with lots of flavour and lastly the vegetarian spring rolls which are always lovely. This comes to about £26 with delivery and fees. A good Chinese, definitely recommend.

We tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday and I was very impressed with the food. Tasted very fresh and light. Will definitely use again.

China Garden as always were brilliant, however we asked for specific requirements in regard to ingredients which unfortunately this time, was not met (usually is), this is why on this occasion I gave the restaurant service a 4 rather than a 5

Watery sweet and sour sauce, bitter aftertaste and lacking in flavour. Soup vegetables had dirt still on them (im pregnant, which is a no-go). It's not worth the money. Never right reviews won't be buying here again

I say this EVERY TIME - this place is AMAZING. They are so quick, everyone loves every dish we get from this place (and the order is usually about £80 +) Only negative is the chicken balls can be greasy so I suggest patting them down - but they arent stodgy at all and brilliant quality.
